2. What is Adobe Acrobat DC?: I think that it is very important that before we go straight into the video, we fully break down, analyze and understand what Adobe Acrobat DC is, what it is used for its purposes. I find this very important because Adobe Acrobat DC, is a software application that is often misunderstood for its uses and purposes and often confused with the other Adobe Acrobat software applications. So I think it is important to clarify this and see that you pause the video right now and try half ago of what you define it as. So what is Adobe Acrobat DC? Adobe Acrobat DC is a software application designed for the purpose of managing files in portable document format, which is commonly referred to as PDF. It is used to open and view, create, edit, as well as print documents in portable document format. Adobe Acrobat DC includes numerous features such as features that enable users to manage multiple PDF files, same PDF files through the process of assigning or even export PDF files to other software applications like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel. Adobe Acrobat DC is a software application that includes Cloud Storage. We can tell this from the fact that the white DC in Adobe Acrobat, DC stands for Document Cloud. So what is Cloud Storage? Cloud Storage is a remote platform that provides scalable storage, which can be utilized to store data by referring to eat other remote platform with basically mean that it can be accessed over the Internet. Adobe Acrobat DC provides uses remote storage, which can be referred to as the Cloud, where they can store their data. Let's now discuss some of the advantages and disadvantages of the software application, Adobe Acrobat DC. Some of the pros include Adobe Acrobat DC is easy to navigate through the layout and the workspace available to you on this software application is very straightforward and easy to understand. There are quite a number of category options on your workspace which perform different tasks. And you can simply click and follow through with the specific option you are trained to perform at ease. On the second floor we have Adobe Acrobat, DC glands users the ability to create forms with the many options available to you on Adobe Acrobat DC comes the ability to perform many different tasks. One of the most common uses of the software application is for creating forms. There are quite a number of tools you can use available on your workspace to create the forms you desire. And on the final probe we have, users can store documents on the cloud storage, which can be accessed across numerous devices. Adobe Acrobat DC is not just an application that can't be accessed on your PC, but it is also available across numerous devices such as phones and tablets. Therefore, saving data on the Cloud using one of your devices does not limit you from accessing the data on a different device. You can access all the data you have saved on the Cloud using whichever device you want, as long as it is compatible with the Adobe Acrobat DC. Now on to the cons, the first disadvantage of Adobe Acrobat DC is it can take a long time to open big files in PDF format. The amount of time it takes to open up a PDF file could massively, depending on its size, the bigger the size of a PDF, the longer it is likely to take to open it. And unfortunately with Adobe Acrobat DC, it can be quite time consuming to open PDF files of big size, and these can be quite frustrating. On the second coin, we have Adobe Acrobat MSI is likely to crash when trying to open multiple PDF files. This is something that is not very common, but it is important to address. Attempting to open many PDF files at once can lead to the software application crashing, particularly if these PDF files of life-size. And on the last and final corn we have Adobe Acrobat DC can be slower times the software application. And Adobe Acrobat DC uses quite a lot of computer resources, such as RAM, memory to run. Therefore, it is very much possible to experience the application slowing down. So here is the main question. Do I personally recommend Adobe Acrobat DC as the perfect software application for managing PDF files? My answer is yes. I do think that it is perfect for managing PDF files. And these are my reasons why my first season is Adobe Acrobat DC is user-friendly. This software application has an easy-to-use user interface. And it actually doesn't matter whether you have experienced using other software applications which function similarly, the Adobe Acrobat, DC or not. It is rather easy to grasp and it will take you a relatively short time to get used to. The second reason why I recommend Adobe Acrobat DC is Adobe Acrobat DC allows users to share files via cloud features. This is actually one of the best features I love about the software application. Let's assume that you have multiple PDF file saved onto the Cloud of your Adobe Acrobat DC application. And you want to share some of these files. Adobe Acrobat DC grants you the ability to share these files directly through the use of cloud features are available to you to use on your workspace. And on the last and final reason why I recommend Adobe Acrobat DC is you can print different files to PDF using the software application Adobe Acrobat DC has the tools that enable you to convert and print files from other software applications, such as Microsoft Word, microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel, which are different for much to PDF. This is very important because you are not limited to what you can or cannot convert to PDF.
3. Exploring workspace available: So let's go straight into the action. When you open Adobe Acrobat DC, this is exactly what you are expected to see fasting. I would like you to notice is that we are currently on the home screen, whereby there is also the tool screen as well. So on the home screen we have many options available here on the left. So we are currently on recent, as you can see. And there is this section down here. So basically this section displays any recent files that we open on Adobe Acrobat, DC. I have not opened any recent file using the software application, and that's why it shows here. There aren't any recent files. But usually if you have used this software application and number of times they recently opened files should appear here are arranged with the name, size, date viewed, displayed as well. You can scan any documents such as receipts, not forms using your phone, which you can then access on your Adobe Acrobat DC application, where you can edit and save as different formats. All the Adobe scan files can be found using this option scans. Now under this section files we have the minicomputer option. This option can be used to import any document that you want from your PC that is compatible with Adobe Acrobat, DC, of course, you can simply do this by clicking on this option here browse. And this should pop up asking you to select which document you want to open. That is the document Cloud option, which displays any document that you have saved on your cloud storage. And finally, there is the Ad account option where you can add a storage account from different storage platforms such as box, Dropbox, and OneDrive, which will help you gain access to the files you have on these storage applications. Now on to the tool screen, when you click on the Tools menu up here, this is exactly what you are expected to see. As you can see, there are multiple tools that you can utilize to perform different functions, such as create a PDF, editor PDF, and many, many others. The number of those shows you how resourceful Adobe Acrobat, DC actually is. There is also this section here on the right-hand side that displays the tools as well, whereby the tools here are only a selected few. So we can basically customize this section by adding or removing any tool. We move any of the tools by clicking on this. So I'll go ahead and remove the Comment tool. As you can see, it is no longer on this section. I can add it back by heading here and clicking on Add. Perfect, it is back to this section. If you are not comfortable with having both of the sections on the screen, you can simply minimize this section here on the right by clicking on the small arrow here. And you can reopen it the exact same way by clicking on the small arrow.
4. Creating a PDF from scratch: So how do we create a PDF? Will do this through the use of the tools on our Tools menu. So I'll head over to our tools screen. But before that, what really is the purpose of creating a PDF? We create a PDF file to simply make it easy to share our walk. Files in portable document format can be easily opened and read on different devices such as phones, laptops, PCs. And that is why it is one of the most convenient document format to work with. Now let's head over to our screen. I'm gonna go ahead and click on Create PDF. This should pop up. And now we can create a PDF from different formats such as single file, multiple file, our even as a webpage format. So I'll go ahead and click on blank page and click on Create. As you can see, a blank space is opened and this is where we can do our editing and create a PDF. This is now referred to as the document view. Our document is currently unnamed, not easy. It saved and this is why it is referred to as untitled up here. Let's now understand some of the functions available to us on the document view. First of all, there are these tools here on the right-hand side. These are the same exact tools available to us on the tool screen. Therefore, the tools that you put this section right here will be displayed on the document view as well. However, if there are tools that you want to use that or not here, you can simply search for it by clicking here. And for instance, I will search for the tool stamp. It clearly isn't on this list of tools, so I'll search for it. As you can see, the stamp tool has appeared. Again. If you want to minimize these tools, you can click on this arrow here. Let's go through some of the most important tools are available which are here. So we can use this tool to save our changes to our document. This is the Cloud Storage tool we can use to save our file to our Adobe Document Cloud, where we can then access these files from multiple devices. Next, we have the print tool, which we can use to print a file. There is also this such tool here which we can use to search for content on our document. These are Rosie, help us navigate through the pages of our document. Because this is a blank document. We only have one page, which is this one we are currently viewing. We can also zoom in and out of our pages using these books here, where we can type in a value or by clicking this small arrow here and selecting a digit. And finally, we have two options here where you can comment or even highlight respectively. On the left of our screen, we have the navigation Spanner, which is inclusive of three options. This panel gives us more information about the document and basically helps us decide how we want to navigate it. The first option, which is this one here, is referred to as the page thumbnails. This section here displays thumbnails of all the pages on one document. In that case, what is a family? A thumbnail is a small image or snapshot that represents a page. The page thumbnails tool is very useful because the thumbnails give you a sneak peek of what content is on a particular page, which will make it easier for you to select and navigate to which page that you want. We also have the bookmarks tool, which should display all the present bookmarks on our document. This is the tool that is used to identify any active bookmarks on an existing document. You can use this feature to add a bookmark or even delete a bookmark. And finally, we have attachments, which is the tool we use to attach other files to our PDF. We can use this feature here to add an attachment to our document. Uses feature to search for an attachment. And this feature to delete an attachment.
5. Opening and editing an existing PDF file: So how do we open an existing PDF file, or basically a file in any format on Adobe Acrobat DC. Well, this is simple. We do this by heading over to these options up here and clicking on File. We then click on Open. And this should pop up asking us to select which PDF file we want to open the PDF file. I want to open it on my desktop, so I'll go ahead and click on desktop. Perfect, Here it is. I can open the PDF file by simply double-clicking on it or clicking on it and heading over to this option here and clicking open. Perfect. As you can see, our PDF has been opened. I will now open a file that is not in portable document format by once again clicking on File. Then clicking on Open. And this time I will change this option down here from PDF files to all files. As you can see, more files have appeared in this particular location. So I'll go ahead and open this Word document. Perfect. As you can see, all the documents that we have created their own tab. And this is how we can edit multiple documents at once. So we can navigate through this document using this. And we can see there are currently 11 pages. We can also see our pages from our page thumbnails. Perfect. We can edit this document using this tool here. So I'm gonna go ahead and click on Edit PDF. First thing I would like you to notice are these tools up here that have appeared up here, which we can use to perform different functions such as add text and image are the IDA and footage and many more. We can now edit the text on our document directly as well. So I can erase these words. And I'm going to type anything I want. I'll type in. The aim of this study is perfect. We can change the font style, font size, text color, basically, anything good to do in the text through this section here. So I'll highlight this text and for instance, change the color by clicking here. And I'll select blue. As you can see, the color has changed successfully. If you want to add text, you can click on the tool up here. And you can simply click and drag to insert the textbooks. And you can type in anything that you want. I'll type my name, motion. And once again, we can alter font style, font color, and anything would be the text using this section here. So I'll highlight my word and change the font style to Calibri. Perfect. To remove the text tool, we head over up here and click on this tool here. We can add an image by simply clicking on an image. This should pop up asking us to select the image we want. So I'll select an image of my desktop. This one right here. Perfect. As you can see, the image has been successfully added. We can save all these changes we have made by simply clicking on the Save tool, which is located up here.
6. Creating a PDF fillable form: We can close the Edit PDF tool that we were using by simply clicking on close. So how would we create a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat DC? For the sake of time, I created a form from scratch using Microsoft Word and this is what it looks like. This is the form I want to make fillable as a PDF using Adobe Acrobat DC. I will begin by saving it as a PDF and undo this by clicking on File, which is located up here. Then heading down to Save As I'm going to browse where I want to save it. So I'll go ahead and click on Browse. And I want to save it on my desktop. So I will click on Desktop. And finally, before we save, I will change the Save As type from a white document to PDF by clicking on this option here. And clicking on PDF. Now, I'll click on Save. Perfect. We now want to open the PDF from weekly it in using Microsoft Word on Adobe Acrobat, DC. So I'll head back to the application and then click on File. Then click on Open. So I'll go ahead and open the form in portable document format to own my desktop. Perfect. So now let's now create a fillable form and we do this by clicking on the tool prepare form. So I'll go ahead and click on it. This should pop up asking us to select a file or scanner document. And as you can see, we are currently on their file we want to work with. So there is no need to select one. There is this option down here that says Form filled auto detect is on. And I highly recommend that you leave this feature on because it identifies places that you acquire fields and automatically create a text field walks in these positions. This makes you what easy because you don't have to manually insert text field boxes across your form. However, I must admit that this feature is not always 100% correct. And as each can sometimes insert our TextField box where it isn't needed or vice versa. But all in all, it is very useful because it is time-saving. So I'll go ahead and click Start. As you can see, fillable boxes have been inserted on our form automatically, as we said before, the form field auto detect feature is not always going to automatically fill in the exact field you require on the different positions of your phone. And we can see this here. I will just zoom out to make our four more visible. So what are some of the fields we can insert on our form using the software application, we can insert a text field, a checkbox. Are there radio button at the list of choices box. I'd our drop-down list and many others which are along this line. As you can see, the fields we have on our form are displayed here as well. We then earnings on this panel where we can perform more functions on our fields. If you want to change the name of your field, you can simply click twice on it and rename it. So I'll go ahead and change it from firstname to fill one. And press Enter. Perfect. As you can see, it has changed. Let's now add more fields to these options down here, the fields we need to insert should at least give the use of the form freedom to select the positions they want, whether it is one of them or all of them. So the best field you use, the check boxes. So I'll now click on the checkbox tool up here. And as you can see, the box appears and we can put it anywhere on the phone we want. So I'll put it here. We can rename the field directly as well through here. Perfect. I'll do the same for the rest of the choices. Perfect. And finally, for the console registration option, we need to insert fields where the users of the form can only select one option is a yes or no. The perfect fields for these other radio buttons. Once again, I will head over on top here and select the radio button tool. And now we'll put it here. Note that this button is in group 18, and we want the No button to be in group 18 as well, so they can function together. You can rename your radio button by clicking here, as well as you name your group name here. I will add another radio button for the no option. We can confirm whether our fields are functioning the way we require them to. And we can do this by clicking on this option here, Preview. We can clearly typing text on a white text fields. We can check all the boxes on the position selected by clicking and clicking, once again to uncheck. And finally, we can select either yes or no on our console Registration section and not be able to select both. Perfect. Our form looks quite disorganized. I must admit and weekend fix this. So I'll head over to this option here, Edit. And we can align all our fields appropriately by selecting all of them. So I'll click on field. And I'm gonna go ahead and hold the Control button on my keyboard and select the rest of the fields. I will then head over to these options here and select which position I want to align them. I want to align them to the left. So I will click this. Perfect. As you can see, they have been aligned to the left. I will distribute them as well. Perfect. We can use the same procedure for the buttons in the position section. Perfect. We can notice that the text fields have moved out of position with the lines below them. But we can fix this by heading over to the Edit PDF tool. And we are going to go ahead and align the lines below the text field boxes. Perfect. Let's now head back to the prepare form tool.
7. Customizing PDF form fields: Let's now customize some of our fields to perform specific functions that we want them to perform. First text field I want to add it is the foreign field. This field should only allow numerical values. So how do we change that? You may ask, we do this by right-clicking on the field. Then we click on Properties. This should pop up on the properties of this field. We can do so many things like change the name of the field here, change the appearance of the field, like change its color or text of the field. In this case, we head over to the format option. And we can select the format of this field by clicking on this arrow here. And do we select number? Because this is what we are interested in and we want these to be the purpose of our field to only allow numbers. I'll click on it. And as you can see, many more options have been displayed, which can help us customize the format of our field. Even further. We do not want our field to accept any decimal places, so I'll change this to 0. We also don't want our phone number digits to have commas and the like. So we shall select this. Perfect. Let's now preview our changes to our phone text field. So I will close this and head over and click on presume. I will try type in letters from my keyboard. Nothing has appeared, which means it has walked. I will now type in digits. Perfect. No commas non decimal points have appeared. And finally, let's change the title text field box to a drop-down list. So I will delete this text field box by right-clicking on it and clicking on Delete. Now let's add a drop-down list from the drop-down list tool up here. Perfect. Let's now head over to the drop-down list properties and click on options. We can add options on our drop-down list, which is referred to as items here by clicking here. And you can type in what you want. So for the first title I want to type miss. I will then follow by clicking on Add. I will now create more titles. Perfect. We can change the arrangement of our titles by clicking on any of them and we cannot leak gone up or down to move them. We can also delete an item using this option here. We can customize further by selecting any of the options here, I will uncheck Check spellings because this is not necessary and check SWOT items. As you can see, our items have been sorted accordingly. Before we preview what we have done, I would like you to notice this reminder here that says select an item in the list that makes it the default choice, selecting one of the item to be the default in this situation can be a bit biased. Therefore, we can go ahead and create an extra item and name it, choose one. And now we can make this our default item by selecting it. Let's now preview the changes we have men do our title field. Perfect. As you can see, Choose one is our default. And when we click on the drop-down box, the titles we created appeal. Let's now go further and make particular fields are must for users to fill in all select. We do this by heading back to Edit. And I will begin with the email address field. So I will right-click on it and then click on Properties. This should poke up. And on the general option we have these common properties down here, whereby we are going to check the box that says required. Let's now go ahead and close it. As you can see, the email address text field now has a red outline which indicates the users are required to fill in this field to progress with the form. I will do the same thing with the last name effect. We can now save our form by clicking on this option here. And that's it for this tutorial. I really hope that you enjoyed it and most importantly, learned a lot from it. But before I go out, I like to leave you with an assignment to create a PDF file from a blank page. Open an existing PDF file and edited inserting images and text. Create a fillable form which should include the text field boxes, checkboxes, radio boxes, and a drop-down list with three items. And finally, make one of your textboxes strictly for numerical valleys of three decimal places. I would now like to take this opportunity to thank you for watching. Thank you very much.
