1. Intro: Hi. And thanks for taking the time to look at this Microsoft Power pain from my course. My name's Colin Marks. And I'm gonna be instructor right away to write a little bit about me. I've been a Microsoft trainer for the last 11 years teaching manly Microsoft stuff. But in the last five years, I've moved across to the apple side of things. I like the way Apple do things. And it was a natural progression for me just to move into the Microsoft office for Mac stuff. So why should you take this course? What this course is designed from the bottom up is the same to get have you at the same level. So whether you're a beginner starting for the first time, what do you have? Someone who has used Microsoft Power Point or any of the Microsoft products previously? And you just want to get up to date with the apple state of things. This course is for you. So what you're gonna get with this course everything is added into it. So once we do election, there's going to be an exercise at the end. I would do the left, the exercise on you can follow along with me, you conjoined lord yourself and do them from home. The course is going to be updated wrangling. So as I see you need, I will add lectures into. If students are asking questions about a particular topic and I think it needs Elektra for it, I will add that in and you will have access to that. There's discussions, action that you can go and have a look and see what questions people have as previously on what answers I have given you can also wants questions for yourself in the message section . You can go in and you can send me a direct message. If there's something that's bothering you or something that you're just not getting your head around, I will get a notification on. I'll get straight back to you once there's a money back guarantee, that's the first thing. So if you're trying to course and it's not for you, you can get your money back from it. And that sticks for Tony D. Is that there's also a lifetime access, So any of these lectures once you sign up, you have lifetime access to. So when I add the updated lectures. You will get them when the version is becoming slightly other dead. I would opt in to make sure you have the latest version of the software. So you're never gonna have to buy another Microsoft PowerPoint for my course. So the last thing I want to say is, thank you again for looking out, and I hope to see in the next lecture.
2. 2 Opening Powerpoint for the first time: Okay, So first things first. We wanna have a look at how we would go about opening up Microsoft Power Point for the first time. So on your dark, at the very bottom you have what's called a launchpad, and the launch pad is going to show you already programs. You can also press the button. It's the top row of your keyboard. It's a button. Five buttons and no four buttons in depending on the keyboard you have under the six small squares on the cynically prayer start. It's going to reveal this launch part for us on the launchpad just shows you all the different programs that you have on your Mac. So we're gonna look it Microsoft Power Point in the very bottom here for me on we're going to open it. You can see it bumping down to the very bottom there and it opens up and I'm going to remove my duck. For the time being, I'm just gonna put my Dr done So Option command, Andi would put your dark away, depending on your screen size. You may not need to do that so you can see here We were met with the first option of what type of presentation do we want to create 90% of the time, we are going to use a blank presentation cause we're going to be putting their own spin on things. But you can also use a number of thes templates. And in a later lecture we will have a look at how we would go in and pick a different template. Templates would have different colors may be different styles, different types of tax or fund. It also gives us an option on the left hand side there for recent. So if you had been walking on a recent presentation, you can go in and you can open a straight from there, and there's all also an open section on the Opens. Action would allow you to go in on open an existing presentation that you have saved somewhere on your computer or hard life, and you can then go and continue walking on it or change it or added it. So for the time being, we're just gonna use this blank presentation on blank presentation is going to be the default one that we're going to use. Like I said earlier, we're going to put a room spending things our own colors, room tax, their own funds on our own information into it. The templates would give you placeholders that you can add things into. So we're going down here to the very bottom right hand corner. There's a create button there. I'm going to click on the create button. It's gonna open up a new blank presentation for us on in the next lecture. What we're gonna do is we're gonna have a quick tour off the window, have a look and see where everything is to get our barons before we get started on the course. So we'll see, is in the next lecture.
3. 3 Microsoft PowerPoint Overview: Okay, so we've opened Microsoft PowerPoint for the first time. Well, Matt, no. With this blank presentation. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna have a quick tour around the window when we go around the window will be able to see all the different areas over, just so you know exactly where you are and what we're talking about later on. So first things first, I've maximized my screen, so it's fitting my full screen you can do to see him. I do advise people that when you're doing this course, try and maybe have a second screen somewhere, whether it be a phone or an iPad or a tablet or a laptop or something that you can just use that to view the course on. Then you can practice on your men computer here. So going from the top left hand corner, right down to the bottom, right. What we're gonna do is we're going to speak about the different areas. So at the very top, we have our main ubar appear that this menu bar eyes with all Mac programs is going to be what's called a contextual menu bar. So it's going to change depending on the contacts or whatever you're walking in. It's going to show you that menu bar. So at the minute it's showing me my Power Point Menu Bar here. If I was to go down and open up a different program. So if I was to open up maybe my contacts on my calendar, you'd see the menu bar will no change to my calendar menu bar. So depending on what you're using, that menu bar will change. If I take by, he can see Power Point at the Minute is kind of ghosted if I take back onto power pointed to go full color again on its no Power Point Menu bar at the very top. So during the course, we will deal with difference actions off that menu bar. I'm not gonna go through too much now. We then have this man PowerPoint windows so you can see it's highlight in this brown, orangey coral right down across the very top. Here we have. This is the title bar at the very top, so your title bar at the minute says presentation one. We're only starting with a brand new copy of Microsoft PowerPoint, so it has presentation one. If you have been using PowerPoint, you might get presentation to treat 45 or whenever the kisses on the left hand side of that we have what's called a quick access to about so the quick access to a borrower's down. This will be different depending on your use. So from the start it would look very similar to mine. But as you start using it and changing it, it will differ for everybody. We have the basic ones here, so you can see we have options like file save on do unr edu Okay, on at the end, then we have it looks like an arrow with a downward Our would've laying on top of this is your customize button this customized what? Anillos uto. Add or remove bottoms to your quick access to a bar, so if we click it down, you can see we've options like new. It has a tech beside file save under Andhra piece, so that's showing that damn buttons are currently being shown on your quick access to a bar . If I was someone who was continent printing out presentations, I might want to put maybe the print button there and it would put it down for me so you can see No, I know Have as well as them four other buttons. I have a print button. No, that's just for quick. Easy access to it. Now, if you put too much up of the top, it defeats the purpose center. So you lose the quick element because you have to start going in looking. So I only use that for your the ones that you use constantly. Your print, your undo your save your redux, that type of thing over On the right hand side, we have this search option, so this will just allow you to search to your presentation. If you want to quickly find something in it. We have a share button Microsoft offer Street X five allows you to be able to collaborate with other paper. So in years gone by, if we had five people working on a presentation, you would have your copy on each person, would have their own copy. So when totally you would have five different copies of the presentation? No, What we can do is we can have our own copy. So which would be the master copy and we can share that so we can give them other four people five, including US, access to the master copy. So when they're editing or creating the presentation, they're doing it on all master copy. So at the end, we only have one big copy, as opposed to having five separate copies that we don't have to shift between unsee them, so sharing will be an option. We will look at that further in the course at the very top. There's a smiley face here. This is where Microsoft wants you to tell you. Tell them if you like the programmer, if you don't like the program to use it, it's what they use to fix it up. So if there is anything wrong with it, don't be afraid to say it to them so that they can try to get it fixed right across. Then, under them buttons, we have what's called the ribbon. So Microsoft's Ribbon is very similar writer at their products. So Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Excel Power point to try to keep this to see him. The one people that once they learn how to use the ribbon, they go on the jump into the next program without having to learn how to use it. So if you have beena Microsoft word years up, this will look very similar. T or if you've used Microsoft, excel in the past, this will look similar to you that will be different inks allowing it. But it's going to be familiar to you as we go through the course. We will deal with these different sections off the ribbon, but you can see each off the rib. Each one of the ribbon here has different tops, home in South design, transition and so on. On each of these tubs is then further split up into different sections, so you can see this past over here. This is the clipboard section, and you can see there's a small line which goes there in the middle here, so that will be my way of telling you where I am on. Say, I'm in the middle of the home tab around on the left hand side of the home tab on that be your we have been able to focus in on a certain point back over to the right hand side. We have an arrow pointing up at this hour road points up. All that does is that hides the ribbon and it puts the ribbon back. Okay, so some people like to have that bit of extra screen space. I'm using a Mac book for this. You might be using an I max or a big screen Mac or a Mac Mini with a bigger screen. So depending on the screen size that you use and you may not need to put away the ribbon or not, I tend to leave it there the whole time because it is something that we're gonna be using from time to time. Okay, Your manpower point window, then. So this area from the line that we can see here don't is split up into trace actions. So one section is over here on the left hand side and you can see we have one. What's called a slide in the middle here on it, saying no title at the minute. So this as we go on through the course and you will see later on, this is gonna populate with different slides. All our slaves are going to be laid down, Slade Once late Tuesday, trees like for right the way down at the minute. We only have one slate. I'm gonna put in a new slate just for the time being. Just a sure. Yet where we have the slates going out. So one and two, we were luckily it around how he would do that and in more detail. But for the time being, I just want to show you what each section does in the middle here. This is the main slide section. Okay, so you have your man slide the white background there on. Then we have what's called a placeholder. So on this me and slide here we have two players. All those different slides will have different amount of placeholders. This one is to player soldiers on the place. Order is one district to our title, which is a title placeholder. On the other one is kicked A ride subtitle which is a subtitle player. Solar. So are place holders or something that's gonna hold something for you. So your title or your subtitle on this player solar is only setting on top off this light so you can see I can move around. So when I'm typing my titling, I'm not type in the title on this light. What I'm doing is I'm typing the title in the player solder on. Then the placeholder is then in turn on this light. So it just means that we can move it around like that. We're not affecting the background. We're just using a white back on for the time being. But later on, we will be using different colors. When we go forward around down here, you can see we have a click to I'd note section This is the towards action. So wonders on the left hand side to is in the middle on the third section, runs down along the bottom here, and it says that the Mannatech tried notes. So this tractor rides notes. Action is going to be where you're gonna put your present or notes in. Nobody is going to stand up in front of an audience and rain things off without having prepared notes beforehand so you might have a picture of a castle. So just say, if your presentation is going to be on castles, you might have a picture of a castle on the screen behind your shown your audience that castle. But in the notes section, you can have taped up all your notes previously so that you're ready to talk about it so you can learn about it. And you can be ready to talk for two or three paragraphs about this castle without having to actually put that text on the screen. Because when we're doing a presentation, we don't want people reading text on the screen, because if the reading do not listening, you want them looking at a picture on listeningto what you're saying. So that's where you're gonna click to our notes. You're gonna type in your present a notes. They'll be able to get around. We will lock in one of the later sections of highway can print out them notes so that you can stand up at your podium. More of you feel about a walking out. Or if it's only to do a presentation in front of a small group, you can printout them notes and have them ready for yourself down at the bottom Them. We just have a wee status ball. Just tell you things like how many slide you have the language that you use. And so I'm using English United States at the minute and your notes comments. This is your different views, so we won't talk too much about the views yet because we don't know what they are. But what we'll do is I'll show you the buttons for them. So we've normal view. We have what's called Slate sort of you. So later on when we might have 10 or 15 slides later, as you can see over on the left hand side here, it's very hard for you to if you had 15 slates were only going to see for them. They are a fiver, the maximum that's very hard to sort between them. So what slight sort of will do for us is it will lead the mote in a box or a grid, like where you can see maybe 20 slides so that we can change in between them. Then we have slideshow view. So this is going to be the very end when we have everything prepared when we've all our notes on, we bought our presentation ready, and it's time to give this presentation. The slideshow view is gonna show us what it's gonna look like on a big screen to the right hand side of that we then have our zoom button. So it Zuma to slight about. You can slide it over to the left or to the right, depending on if you want to zoom big or small, we consume it out like that and showing last slides or in we'll show more ideally what you want. And I will talk about this later on in this action. You want to have your zoom set, we're gonna have a title at the top of each of these slights. You want to make sure you can read that title in here we use is no good. If if you could just see words, you need to be able to read them so you can quickly see what slide contains. What information? I'm gonna go back to normal view here so we can go back to this normal view on the right hand side. You can see we still have this click to our doom here. So that's a quick overview off the Microsoft PowerPoint window. It's just important getting that out of the Air Force, so we know where all the difference actions are. We know what a ribbon is on that when we click on the different tabs that reveals the different buttons on the ribbon. Okay, we know where their title bar is at the very top. Here. This is our slide view down along the left hand side. And then this is on May in view here in the middle. And then we have to click to add notes section. So what we'll do is we'll go ahead in the next lecture. We're going to look at how we would start getting the presentation together, so we'll see, is there?
4. 4 Using Templates: Okay, So in the last lecture, we looked at the default template, so we had a quick tour around the default template on default Template is a white background on black tax like you can see here, so the majority of people would create a default, have a presentation based on this default template, so you'd open a power point and create a blank presentation. And this is what it gives you a white background with the place orders. And but you also have the option to create a presentation based on a template. Knew what a template is. It has the certain things in place, a new Adam. So what has maybe the player soldiers in a different section that has the place or different place. It has different colors and background, different things. I find it's better to create a blank presentation, get everything on the screen black and ways, get all your content, and on after that, then you can look a bit changing that or change the colors, or do what whatever you want to do. But some people may prefer to use a template so tablets can be used, depending on what you're using for So if you're doing it for a sports team, you might have a look at different colors or different things. If your company has different colors, so maybe a template that's close to them. So the way we would use the template is on the Power Point menu up the top. Here we have a fine option on. It gives us two options new presentation or new from template. New presentation will just be from the blank default presentation. But new from template is going to give you a number of options than that you can choose from so you can see it's exact Same is the window that we would have opened up at the very start. Except instead of choosing blank presentation here, we're going to choose one of the other ones. You can see there's different colors on them. On each of them gives you a quick representation of what it's going to look like. So I'm gonna pick one. I'll just pick this power, someone you can see. It's no highlighted with this orange color behind it on. It's going to be like a gray background on our and placeholders are going to be white. I'd imagine looking at that. I don't click on the create button, then the very bottom right hand corner here, once I taken, create, you can see it, then has that great background. It has the the title in the middle there, the taxes different, so your funds will be different. Your colors would be different. The colors that are available to you would be different, so that's using a template. It's more or less the same a setting up the blank template, except it gives you them colors from the very start. Where is with the blank template? You're starting off blank and you're importing, averaging right the way up. Okay, if you're happy that you just want to do a quick presentation, maybe the temple, it would be the way to go for you. But if it's something you need to do for work, we are very tight, the colors or specific things you need to start off with the blank for the course. We are going to be using the blank. It's going to be exact, same as using a template. You just have to modify the plank at the very end. Then, Okay, so we'll see. Is in the next election when we're going to start looking at starting the import content in this, starting to get more slides on and starting to build up our presentation, so we'll see you then.
5. 5 adding content to presentations: Okay, so it's no time to start getting this presentation looking a bit like a presentation. No, for purpose is off doing this video. It doesn't really model what we do. The presentation on what we are here to do is to learn how to create our presentation, not to make a presentation. Okay, so some of the things we put in here might be factually correct. Some of the things might make much sense, but it's all for educational purposes. Okay, so the figures might be correct that we put in the things that we put in might make sense, but it's it does a golden it all. It's to learn how to do a specific thing. When you're creating your presentation, you would obviously put in the correct figures and you would do everything correctly. We're just using this as a practice actress eyes. So what we're going to do first is we're going to talk a wee bit about the place orders. No, the place holders are these areas, so you can see them that run right away around here. As we go to put in different slights, we're going to see the different size placeholders and different type, less origin. We learn all about them in due course. But your presentation is going to be made up off slights. Okay, It's a slide show. So we're gonna be adding slides and we're gonna put them down along the left hand side on each slide is gonna have a different purpose. I always tell students or potential students when we're doing something, you can do a presentation very simply. So there's only going to be for me and our tree men types off of slates. Okay, Tree May before the 1st 1 is a title slight like we can see here. Okay, it's going to be a title for your presentation. So it's going to be the screen that when people come in and look up at the screen for the first time, it's what they see. It's what introduces your presentation to them were then going to have on that's gonna have a title under subtitle. We're then gonna have No, we will go through this in slower detail in a second. This type of a slide here, it's going to be what's called a title and content slide. OK on. This is going to be a slide that has a title up of the very top. All slides should have titles on them. Tighten up with the very top on. Then it's gonna have a content section. This contents action can be bullet points were taxed on it. It can be maybe a short paragraph. It can be m any type of taxed like that. Okay. The other type of slide is going to be the exact same type of slide as the one previously imagined. Except this one. Instead of having taxed on it, it's gonna have maybe a title on the picture. So a title and the picture will be a tight little top on a picture in this area here. Okay, on, then. Another slight could be just what's called a blank slate. Okay, on a blank slate and is where we can out our own things to it. Our own titled Reverie want our own pictures wherever we want, but out of them for men car degrees, I'm going to call the monkey. So we've tightened slight. We have a slide with a title on some text on us. We have a slide with a picture on it for that picture. I'm going to put in a picture a video, a bit of clipper heart. We'll talk later, but clip art or a share or something, so it doesn't have to be a picture. It can be different things, but it's a type of slide that we want and then a blank slide. We only have four slight, so we only really have to learn how to make four different slides. Fourth, we can make a presentation that has 100 slides in it because there could be 20 slaves were taxed on them, another 25 with pictures on them. There we have a 45 slave presentation on. We only need to know how to make two different types of slates. We do need to added us later on. Think of a game of golf, yet you might hit 100 shots in a got in again, got. But you only need need to layer on her to hit the ball once, and it works for you. So it's the same thing here. We're gonna learn how to create our Slade with tax dollars on. Then, later on, you can change to suit whatever you want to do. So there to for me in tapes of slaves that we're going to learn how to make. And we will go through them in more detail on we are gonna click on the mall on. We're going to true and do examples off them and show you how you would do this. Protects the doctor attacks and parliament. But for a start, we're going to focus mainly on a title slide. So we have this place holder here. What? The players holders. I tend to tell students, Don't move the placeholders. Okay, so I never remain my daughters. Don't be moving them around the screen like that. Microsoft Have them set in the center of your screen there. If the mold centered for you that you can just program play, you can take it and use them. So what we're going to do for this presentation? I am going to do the presentation based on a small village in Portugal. It's called Olivo. Anyone who don't any. My previous of course, is. But no, I do used it this quite often because it's it's something that's familiar to me. Andi, I have the content there for it. You can copy exactly this, I will make the content available in this latter. So pictures on videos that you can go in and download and put into your presentation just a sample stuff. Anything that that I mentioned that you're going to need in the course will be available in the resource of section. So you'll have to go and just download that Lord, be be free for you to use. And I own the copyright off this stuff so I can use it in courses and that some sometimes the biggest problem is is getting stuff for it. So we're putting in our title here. We'll just put in a novel Portugal on. I'm just gonna put by my name India. So, Dad, Simple, straightforward. We have our first slide done. So when you come back in the next lecture, we're going to look and see how you would go about adding more slights to us
6. 6 saving a presentation: Okay, so we've got this far with our presentation open here. Now what we want to do is we want to go ahead and see if the presentation, the beauty of presentations on the computer is that we can go ahead and let a later date we can added it. We can change some small thing in it and we can say that something else. So it's important to get saving down to a T. And when we go to see if there's going to be two options got going to be saved unsee advise from the start, it's not going to make any difference to us. Okay, later on, we look at the difference in them, but from the start of seven, survivors are going to be the exact same for us the first time we save things. So to save a presentation, we're going to go up to the file button up with the very top left hand corner so you can see we have power point on. Then we have filed from the PowerPoint Manu. When we go down, we have saved unsee. Advise some care. You can see if the right hon say there it's giving you command and s is the short cut for it. All these options will have a short cut option. We would use them later on. For the time being, we're just going to use the longer way around. So forced time or seven, it doesn't matter for you save or save eyes unexplained the women when we would change them . So we're gonna click on save. It's gonna open up this small dialogue box for you hear anything that opens up like that a second Reeboks is known as a dialog box. So it's asking us a couple of different things. I'm just going to go through them when you're dealing with these dialog boxes trying to go from the top left to the bottom, right. The finish button is always done round here. You can see it down in the sea of button is there and run that bottom right corner. If it's a button for okay, are enter our next usually be done run there. So it makes good sense to go from the top. Left the bottom right. So what we have no is we have a sea of eyes section. So this is asking us what name. Do we want a part of that? It's very important that you give this a meaningful name so that when you go back in six months time and look at it, you know exactly what it is without having to open up. That's the first thing that we want to do. So we want to know where we serving it to On what are we saving it? Eyes. So for this, we're just gonna call it first presentation. Not very. Imagine of. But wait. No, again. When we look at what it is, the next option then done is tags so you can see tags are you can either tag to this that later on. If you want a Satch first, you can search for it. So if you're working on something for walk, you could put it in and call it work. You can see I have a walk tag down. Okay. If you wanted Teoh, it was to do with them gyms. You could put James and create a new tag for Jim's. So if James was one of the people walking on it with you, you could have a tent so you could have all James's informally all James's files with a tag James on it. So when you search for Jim's, it will come up as part off that search so you can add different tags. Different people will have different tags, and some people might not even use them. You can all also add car degrees so you can see it may be important. Orange proper Yellow Excel word. So I've been doing an exiled course, too, so you can see it comes up then, too. So that's the first thing. So we've saved it or we put a namun. We've also put a tag in, so it's got to do it. Walk on. It's got to do with Jim's. It's asking us, Where do we want to save it? Now it's going to give you there's a donor or not borrow here. If we click it, it's going to give you a number of different places where you want to savor, too, so it's going to give you any devices that you have. So these are maybe hard drives are on your Mac book or wherever it is your favorites. OK, so these are the favorite folders, and then you have recent places down at the very bottom. If you don't see the folder that you want to save it there, you can go one step further. Or if you look at the side off your name, the first presentation there's a dropped an arrow. If I click that, it's going to reveal, uh, a layer that's gonna be very familiar to anybody that has been using computers in the last while. So we click that, you see it gives you this layer that you might know familiar someone coming from maybe a Windows background or anyone that has used Finder on a Mac. It will look more familiar to you. So choose your documents here, the left hand side, and then it shows you the different folders here, and you can save it. I'm gonna put that away for the time being, or happy enough to saving it straight into documents. Later on, we might save it in a different place. So we're saving the two documents. It's asking you, what do you want to save? It dies. So what? For much again, we're not at the stage yet where we want to change formats, so we're happy enough that it's just called a saving it as a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Andi, we're going to click on Save. So once we could conceive, you can see at the top. No, we have our file. It's called Forced Presentation. You see the name of it coming up there? It saved in her documents folder on it means no, that any changes we make, we could go back and let our unchanging weaken just servitude in Some of the letter lectures will go on, have a look, it, see when we would use that save or survives. It will make more sense to you whenever we have content ing. So at the minute we just have a blank presentation. We're after saving it for the first time. But later on, we're going to be adding content on May be editing on original presentation on, then going in and seven. So in one of the other lectures we look at that whenever we get up to speed. With that, so we'll see. Is then
7. 7 Slide Types: Okay, So we look briefly in the last section about how we would enter tax into one of the placeholder just by putting in the heading and the subheading. There we were, luck in more detail in one of the next lectures. But thats section of this lecture is all about slides on the different types of slaves that we can use. So, like we said earlier, you only need to know how to use a couple of different slides and we can replicate them. Then to create are bigger presentation, so we want ever looked at. First of all, the first type of slate we have is a tightness light. We've put in a Titan slated comes up automatically when we start the presentation. When we want to add a new slights, we're gonna put the slates down along the left hand side. Here is where we're gonna build it up. We have an option here, which is a new slate button, and you can see it split up into two halves. It's split up the bottom half. Here is new slate. On the top half is an icon with a green plus honor or a green circle with a white plus. So there's a wee drop down arrow as well. So if you take that drop down arrow, you can see No, it's gonna show us all the different types of slides that we can do. So going through them very quickly there, the first type of slave, The weekend ad is a tightness late so we can put a Titan slate. And if we wanted, usually we don't have won titles like at the very start. The next type of slide we have then, is a tightening contents like so you can see it's giving you a rough representation of it. There it's title section for a title at the top on. Then it has a content section at the bottom. Content is going to be content. Is going to be am a picture or a video or a bit of tax telegraph or something like that. The next, when we have a section had a so in between different sections of your presentation, you may want to put like a title, and so it's just gonna break up. That's action for you and it put in a small title for you, the next one. Then we have done is a tighter to content. So you can see it has an area the top for a title on. Then it has to contents actions. So well, black leather put a title up with very top. Ah, picture here on a picture here. So it gives you that on using these slides. It means that everything's all nicely led up to all your titles in the same place. All your pictures are going to be lined up. The size would be okay. And you will see that as we go on for the trip, the next one then we have is a comparison. So comparison is going to have a area for a title at the very top. I'm just gonna click on comparison to show yet in more detail here. So I've just clicked on it, entered in here. So I have a title section here at the very top. I have a small tax section here, A small tax section here. I have a content section here on I have another contents action here. So what? The contents action. Think of maybe rainfall so we could put a tight LaPierre rainfall. We could put Portugal here on Ireland here on. Then we call the chart here, showing the rainfall in Portugal on a chart here showing the rainfall in Ireland and you can compare of one against the other. Okay, back and again, we have a tight Loney so tight lonely is going to give you just a title at the top of the page that are top of the slide. The rest is blank. The next later on down is going to be just a blank slate. You can put in your own details than your titles into play soldiers. You can protect different things on the slide. Whatever you want to speak about a picture on full screen picture. The next thing we have then, is a content caption slight, so it gives you an area for a tight at the top. It gives you a small caption area at the left hand side, and then it gives you content for a picture on the next one We have then, is a picture with a caption again, a tighter a small caption on just a picture. In case you the difference in the east of is this one. Here is a content that soon is a picture, so the content will allow you to put in movies are charts or anything like that. So these are the different slight types. Once we get into adding slides, these will all become very easy to remember. You'll just have to think What sleight of my partner next. What do I need to go on this light? I want you to say what you need to go on to say to be very straightforward. It's the white canvas laid you're going to use for the majority of the time. We're going to use title and content. So it's just gonna be a martyr of every time we come to putting in our new slates or for our seconds late. No, we're gonna be going to the new slave button and we're gonna be selecting title and content . It's going to give us a tight slide on the left hand side. It's going to give us our slide in the 1,000,000 area. Here. We kick in to where we want to add the title. We're just gonna put in Olive or Portugal again. Don't worry about repeating the same thing over and over. It'll make sense later on so we've put it in. So that's the Titan slate into that's entering a slight. The most important thing is that, you know the type of slightly apartment before you put it in. Okay, So when the next lecture, we're going to look about how we would change layers off different slights.
8. 8 Changing slide layout: No. From time to time, you may need to change the tape of a slave that you're after creating. So if I put in another slate here, I'm just gonna put in. I'm gonna go to new slate. I'm gonna put in the tightening contents late. As I said, it's gonna be the one we're going to be used in 90% of the time. I'm just gonna put in a title here, just a sample title. Just so we have some taxed in on, Say, for example, then I wanted to change that slide type. I could delete the slight. So over on the left hand side, I could second re click. So on a Mac, you want to do a two finger click or a right click, so two fingers on the track pad will give you are right click and there's an option then for deletes light. I could do it that way so I could delete this light and reporting a different one then. But what I can also do is once I have the slide highlighted like this, I can go up to the layered option here so you can see layout up at the top I can quickly hurt, and it gives you a very similar nearly the exact same window eyes, the new slight option. And from there you can see it is a tightening contents light. I could change it to maybe a title and to content on it lows me to change it or record put it into, ah, content or caption. And you see your change that for me there. So that's a quick way off being able to change the type of slave that you're using without having to totally delete the slate on Put in a new state. Remember, you may have part of picture on this, and you may have taxed on a dummy of after spent, maybe 10 or 15 minutes typing out something. So it's it's quicker to do that than to have to delete it on restart again. So that's a good tip for yet to be able to do that. Okay, so the next action we're going over like a pardon in more slights
9. 10 Entering text into slides: Okay, so I've deleted a couple of the slides that we put in just as practice, and we're going to keep going. No answering tax. So the force, but attacks we're gonna enter is a very short paragraph, just about the village olive. Or so we just click to where we want to add our text. We want to remove the bullet point cause we're not going to use border points for this particular section. And we're just going to start typing. And I'm just going to type in, um, have or is a small fishing village shirt. Okay, so we have we have are taxed in their night. It doesn't matter what taxi, but in the main thing is the do part taxed in. Okay, we we need to concentrate on how we do things as opposed to what we're actually doing here . So there there's no point, no spending three hours putting in text. We know how to put in one bit of tax. We can change it. Then when we want to go into the next lane, we just press the return key on the keyboard. It takes us down to the next lane, and we just say it is a very popular holiday destination. Okay, so we could keep going on and on their about it, but we don't want to add too much too. So that is an that's the way we do is we just click in on type. We don't move the players holders run it in the place or rolling in the same place later on . We can have a look at how we can change it or not. Now, if I click out of the player soldiers, I'm just gonna take out to the left hand sites. You can see my mouse is here. I'm gonna take outer left outside. I can't really select our tax there. Can you see that? So when I call to select that I can't select attacks, it's pulling the placeholder, wear it on. The reason it's doing that is like we said earlier, the the text that we have Okay, the tax that we have isn't on the slide. It's actually in the place holder and then the placeholder is on the slight. So if you want to deal with tax over, you want to make any change, the attacks, what you need to do is click forced into the player solder on. Then you can select all the tax that you want. But from the start, you can see you can't really click and drag across that you might be lucky. And you might just catch it like I know if I click there, it's not going to select. As you can see my arrow as a forehead and our orders, it's not going to select it. Whereas if I click here, it will. There, the eye bar. So you can see you might just get lucky on do it. But as a route, when you want to select or highlight text, click in first on, then go back and highlighted. So rather than just going straight owns, you won't want to make sure you're like an enforced. So remember, the placeholder sits on top off that slide on, we are entering the taxed into the place order. Just make sure you always take into the placeholder first. Okay, so in the next section, we're gonna have a look. A different place orders on what we can do with them.
10. 9 title and content slides: okay, they Once we have our title in, we're gonna deal with this contents action here and it. Once we deal with one of the contents actions, it's going to be the same right across the difference. Lights of the title into content or tightening content or comparison throw are going to be the exact him. So when we click within the players holder, so we're collecting the placeholder here. It gives us an option click to add taxed, and you can also notice there's Ebola point before word say is, take two out text when you're entering information in presentations. Ideally, your batter. If you can use bullet points, it saves having a load of taxed on your screen. People tend to read text if it's on the screen. What do you want to do is you want to have bullet points there you can and speak about the bullet points on you. Can your audience focuses on with Dorsey and then, as opposed to reading on ahead with a big power graph the text. Plus, you have to march, and this is going to be on a big screen behind you or on a screen that you're displaying the summer on. You don't want to club the screen up with taxed. So if you want to use the bullet points once you click into our text, you can see the bullet point is slightly great. And you would just start type. And so bullet 0.0.1. Okay. And then you can hit the and turkey on it will give you the next one and then bought a point to on the next one bullet 10.3 on so on. Okay, so you would I'd your bullet points like that later on, we look a four mile increment and doing all them different things. No, if you're not using the bullet points you want to use taxed. So I'm gonna put in a better title and contents light here, I'm gonna put in a title again. So I'm just gonna get put in sample tightly, Weaken, weaken, Do all these titles little. So I'm going to click in words his tech to ride tax. No new early room when we want to use the bullet points we just started typing. If we don't want to use the bullet points, it's just a case of pressing the backspace button. So the backspace button on your keyboard will remove the bullet point and then you can start typing. So this is sample text on. So when we would put our tax then on it will go in paragraph form for you again later on. We look at what formatting it. So two types of taxi component you can put a bullet point text. Ideally, that's what you want. Or you can put in paragraph text if you are using paragraph tax trying to keep it short enough. Okay, The next thing we want to do on the title and contents. Lightner. As I said, this covers all the bases with all the other slides. So when we're learning that once, it will cover the rest. Um, I'm gonna put in a new title and contents light. You can see no here. So we have a title and content slide here on. We have our title here at the top. We have a contents action here on. Then we have these six icons that are here down at the bottom. This allows you to put in your different content types into your contents. Action. The Force One we have is a table so if we can't get, it's going to give us the option to put a table. And the next one we have then is a chart. It lows you put a child in the next one is a smart our graphic. Okay, so smart orographic would be you might may be familiar with the length of a family tree where it has the grand parents and so on or in ah, in an office building you might have an organizational chart with the managing director and the managers and so on down the waste. Then we have our picture here so we can inside the picture. That's a picture from from Fire that we can take our picture straight. And the next week folder we have then, is a picture from file again so we can put in two different types off picture so we can put in our images on our pictures. There, on the last one we have then, is our movies so we can set in Santa movies. It's good practice to if you're putting in a movie, it's good practice to put in a movie from a file. So, in other words, not from YouTube or anywhere like that. The reason being is, if your partner movie in from YouTube, you're reliant on the Internet and all that, plus copyright issues. But we won't talk about that when you're putting it in from from a file. So from your hard drive or something, it embeds into your program. So when you play a true there's no player back problems, whereas if you put it in on a link, you can put links into it. But if you put a link from YouTube in when you're running a presentation, it then has to go and find that link in there. So you're better off if you can get the movie on file format and put it straight in. So that's the different options here near the beauty about putting the I am using. The's options here is it uses the placeholders now. We will look let around when we start putting content, and we look at how it uses the placeholders, and you can insert pictures using the insert picture and dialogue boxes at the top. But it doesn't use the placeholders. It's gonna fill up your full screen, but it was gonna overtake your title and everything. So using these options here means that goes into the player soldiers. It just keeps everything lined up straight away. If you can notice on the left hand side here so you can see my titles on the left. Okay, are all lined up. Okay. So that's why we use the templates that power Point has created for us. Because when you have it up on your big screen, all your titles are going to be in the same place on by using these place orders. It means that any pictures or any content that you put up will also be all in the same place. So you're not gonna have one picture moving from one slide to the next. So we'll see. Is in the next lecture on would continue on with getting the presentation ready.
11. 12 entering text bullets and normal: Okay, The next action, as we say, It doesn't matter what we get in here. Tax ways. We just want to get some tax, then to show how you would put taxed. And after that, it's up to you. You're the one that's going to be creating this presentation. I'm only showing you how you would do to certain things about So we're gonna play in a new slight. So we're gonna go up to the new slide button. We're gonna put in a tight link content. It's gonna be entitling content here for us. I'm we're gonna put in. I'm just gonna put in key points on it's just for bullet points that we're doing. Okay, so we're gonna click in here. The key points we're gonna put in first of all is we're gonna put into this family focused , okay? And we're gonna put in in the beach, Okay? There's 3.5 kilometers of a beach and the pathways Okay, so there's elevated path. It's these parties go right along the beach, so it's like a boardwalk type thing, OK, and fishing trips on, so on. Okay. Fishing trips on. We put in one more and bars and clubs. There's no holiday without bars and clubs. Okay, so the these are key points that we're putting in, so would any present fish. And you're gonna have this type of a point thing. Now we only have one or two. We things here, so we only have five different points. There's no way we are going to stand up in front of an audience and just mansion these five points. We want to elaborate on them. And that's where your notes will come in later on, when we get to the notes action. But when you're doing out your bullet points, this is the way you want to let him out. We look later on how we would form at them. But you want to, Leo, your bullet points exactly like this. So at this point, we've put in a title slight. We know how to do your title. Slight. We've put in a slide with tax dollars. We've been a Slade, then with bullet points on it. So we have two or tree out of the key things done. We could put in 10 slides with bullet points on them. It's all about getting the content and so that's putting the bullet points in very straightforward. If you wanted to go on to the next line so you could hit the return key twice, it will give you the lane. Done. You could have your backspace and you could then type a normal sentence. Okay, Type of normal sentence on you could keep going then and type on so you can see you can incorporate both bullet points on the normal one. The normal tax twitter if you wanted to go the opposite way about it. So if you wanted to put in a new one, here's a slight tap Fear if you click at the end. So we've 12 tree We took a the end. You can see we have the line here. If we had the return key, it'll automatically put in a new slate for me and it just use the CMAs previous. It'll just put in a tightening contents laid like we had previous. So if I put in here one that's mixed text types. Okay, so what we're talking about now is bulleted bullet taxed on normal text. We can just say this is normal text. Okay, so we've normal tax then Onda. We could go on there in the page on. What we could do is we could turn on the bullet so you can see in the middle minds just directly below that view button. There's a bullet button here. If I click it on, it gives me the option for bullets. Then on, I could then say 0.1, boil it to about a tree on. Then I could go down onto the next line. I could turn the bullets off, and then I could go back in again. Normal taxed again so you can see you can have normal taxed bullet, bullet, bullet, normal text and you can do it like that. It's just a matter of turning the bullets on and off. You could do the same thing, and so instead of the bullets, the numbers are beside it there, so you can see there's the numbers we could just do we could put in. I'm just gonna big input bullet, one bullet to bullet tree and then on to the next lane. I hit the backspace button there, and then we could say this is normal text again so you can see it's just a matter of four mining, and you can do it each as you're going along. You don't need to set it up beforehand or anything. You can just set it straight up, and you can see the way it gives you normal tax and bullet. So the three types of slaves raft apart in the Air Force one is just playing tax. Then it. So, as I've been called that normal taxed the next one. Then we have is just bullet. So bullet one below to voluntary. And then that hard won is normal tax on bullets. So just to show you that you can change up different things and it is worth while you don't want your audience or whoever's watching it looking at just text. Okay, so if you can put it in bullet points, short points and then you elaborate on them when you're speaking, it's battered and just having it all on the screen. Anyone concert and read from a screen. Ideally, you want the bullet point in there. Okay, so in the next election, we continue on with creating the presentation
12. 13 adding pictures to slide: Okay, So continuing on from the last lecture. So we have this filer after creating again. If you did not create the file, it'll be in the resource action to you. Continue on. You won't be left behind. So, gold general the file Or if you've created in the last one, we're ready to use it against What's the Algarve holidays? Finally we created. So what we're gonna do now is we're going to step it up a bit and we're going to start adding photographs too. Are presentation to see how we get on with it. So the first thing we want to do is you want to put in a new slight on, we're going to go for tightening content again. It will be all off. The lot of the content we use is going to be this tightening content, like any pictures that would be used in the course I have taken myself, so there's no copyright on them or anything. Feel free to use them as you want, and I will include them all in the resource action for you that you can download unused to any videos or pictures that we use. Justin kids, we just have to be captured, but copyright with that, so feel free to use them. So for title, I'm just gonna put Salvo pictures on it, Okay? Not very. Imagine of what we're gonna use. Just olive or pictures in the contents. Action. Down in the bottom. Here, there's to photograph options, the boat to see and both of them are gonna lie either. But in a picture, one will tell you that it's insert picture from file and the other one's exact same picture from files with Doesn't matter which one we open. Okay, so I have the files here, so you can see I have them stored to my desktop. You can download them from your resource action. The one we're gonna put in is the boat to download the files stored on your desktop if you want. For the time being on there, we have a picture of a boat. I'm just going to click, get I'm gonna go toe ends out. We'll do that again. What? Another one and slow. You can see what it's after doing it. Put the picture in and it keeps it the same size as the placeholder Waas. I'm just gonna undo. So undoes up the very top left hand corner. It's an arrow pointing around the left hand side. If I click on, do it will get us back to where we were. Just takes it back one step so you can see when we have our titling contents like we go down here to where we have our pictures from file on this one again again is picture from files. So it doesn't matter which one we use on his juggling, just to show you that it's exact same. It opens up the exact same window on you. Locate the file. So maybe put the files in your dad. Stop that. You have them in that folder called Task Files. I'll give you that folder and it'll demonstrators. We select the picture that we want on. We go to insert, and it puts the picture in so it puts it in for us with same size, that it was everything we're going to do a quick section, no on photographs, how you would added the photographs of change them. Usually, what I tend to tell people is if you're doing a presentation once you put the photograph in leave it to that size because your template. So you know, the default template that we speak about. Your template has been set up that the photographs will all look similar on the difference lights. So if you're a photograph on slight 34 and five, it's not gonna look one's bigger and the other, it will manage them so that they're all the same size we usually. What I tell people is, when you put them in, leave it because you can see it's after partner in the center. It looks proportion ways. It looks right on that. OK, but if you did want to change them, you can see we have handles and care. These squares on the corners on the middle are called handles on each of these hands. If you hover across it, it will give you a double headed arrow on. If you click and drag, it will allow you to make the picture bigger if you dry goat on smaller. If you drag in okay and then keep it for you, I tell people as well. Try to use the corners are not the ages, cause with the ages, you can end up with something that looks like that. So it's all out of proportion. The corners won't let that happen. The corners you'll see will put it in on out exactly as it should be. So proportion. Why is it you keep it right? We also have this circle up of the top, so it's an arrow pointing around. If you click it and drag it run to the right, it will rotate it and run to the left and rotate it that way. So that's just a very quick section on photographs. We have hundreds of the corners that we can move and that will do the size. We have the middle one here that will land. No, you wrote it on. If you grab the picture in the middle, it'll allow you to move it around the screen. Now we will do a total section on photographs, or we'll do removing backgrounds and cropping and all them things. But for the time being, we're just gonna have a look. A basic things moving notice in Power Point. This will be slightly different from the area versions of Microsoft. If anyone has used him, it will show you these guidelines, and you can see the guidelines to snap on. So whenever you're in the center, they will snap on allowing you to line up all the different things. You can see that the left hand side I'm lined up with the outside of the of the air. If I go here, I can line it up and so on so you can line them up until you're happy would wear the picture sets. Okay, so that's roughly that the center now. So that's the way to different pictures. If it was a case that we have one of the slides, so I'm gonna put in one of these two contents lights. So again, it's the exact same slight Followed us along and do it. I know what this presentation might make my signs at the end, but do this as a practice. So we're gonna put in again olive or pictures. So again, the same thing as the heading. I always tend about headings in because it looks blank. If you don't, we're gonna put into pictures just to demonstrate. I'm going to use this button on this contents action on this one on the other one. So I'm going to use this one on. I'm gonna put an olive or night one. It'll automatically pick up that once you've bean there the last time, so you can see it puts in olive or night one. And then I'm gonna use the folder option for this one on for that's what I'm going to use Olive Ornate, too. I'm gonna put it in so you can see straightaway how it has put them to photographs and two photographs taken at different times. And but you can see it's after making them to cmci ease, and it is lying them up on the page for you. There's not much for us to do by putting two photographs, and so don't worry too much about it. You don't have to change it. It automatically would put them right for you that they will look allying than proportion whites. So maybe sound in cases where you me want to move it here, remove it there if you want a tax beside or something that you want to run them, but that would be planned that you will have in your head. But for the 90% of things straight forward on the default template will work for you. Okay, so that's entering pictures into the default template into the tight land content slates. Later on, we will look at how we would change things like removing the background, cropping pictures, bringing pictures backwards and forwards, changing the height, changing the wet death, everything. But for now, we just want to get pictures in. Okay, so we'll see. Isn't one of the next lectures?
13. 14 Save and save as after pictures: Okay, So in one of the air in your lecturers we spoke about saving and save eyes. And I wanted to wait until we had a certain amount of content in before I covered it. Because it won't make sense the unless we have that content in place. So we saved area Ron as Aldo holidays. So we don't We didn't trace lights. We put in our text and we went file and save. And we see if there is Algarve holidays to our documents folder. So we have a tough a file inner documents folder called Algarve Holidays. No, we're at the point where we're after adding mawr content to the file. So the Algarve hold this file. So we come on a dilemma? No, it's time to save on. We've two options. We can go file and save, or we could go file and save eyes. If we go file and save what it will do, is it would save the content were after adding toothy original document. So Algarve holidays will have the original information we put in, and it will have this new information as well. Whereas if we went, see if, as it will save it as something totally different. So we leave. The Algarve holiday is there with the tree files are the tree slides First of all on it will create a new file with five slides on it. So the first tree from the original file on then these two new picture ones that were after Arctic. So that's the difference for filing to devise off violence, even violent. Save us. You're going to use it for version control. So just say, for example, if you do a document up or a presentation on it's based on the United Kingdom and you see it as United Kingdom on. Then you come along and you do another presentation using the United Kingdom one, but you remove Scotland from it. You can go then and you can see if it dies United Kingdom without Scotland or whatever it is so that you would have did two files to separate files with United Kingdom Andi one. Would I The information that you want Oh, you may have to separate ones. So just say we're doing a presentation for Olivo on. We're including bars and clubs in dark, anything and about alcohol related things. We can save that as I'll go of holidays adult. And then we can remove the over 18 content out of it on then weaken Savers Algarve holidays , family friendly or something like that. We were using the same original filed, but we're just going to file Survives. So that's why when you do it So what we're going to do now is I'm going to see if this one I'm gonna go to file if I went to see if it would just see if this information to the original file. But I don't want to do that. I want to go to save IEDs. So what it does is it opens up the window again. Now you'll see it's in a ghosted version here, but it's showing us that Algarve politics is already there in the folder that we're saving it to. But what we're going to do know is I'm gonna save it. Oligarch holidays. I'm going to save it. What pictures pics on us and I'm going down and I'm going to say, see if so now if you look and see in a second. My title bar up of the top now has Algarve holidays with pictures on the other one will have bean discarded, not discarded. Left in the file there for us later on. That if we ever needed we can open it up on Use it. So that's save and see advise. And that's the difference Enough. I will include I practice, test or practice exercise in the resource action off this lecture that you can go in and do a quick practice with save and save eyes, just to, you know, to understand it fully. Okay, so we'll see is in the next election.
14. 15 doing task 1: Okay, so we have done all the learning. There is toe putting in text, you know, just entering bit of tax than it was just like in and type. What we're going to do now is we're going to do a task to get everyone to the same point so that we can continue on as a group with the course. And it's very hard when you're putting in bits and pieces of text are not everyone at the same point. So we're gonna do a task, and that would bring everyone to that point. So the task will be in the resource action off. This lack trust will go on, download it if you want. If you could print today, that'll be great. Just print load on a piece of peer for Andi, have a per se did that you can follow. True, so there's not a whole pile of typing, and we're not going to spend too much time typing. So its task one. Creating new presentation Number one's dead stare. It says open Microsoft Power Point so we can open Microsoft PowerPoint if you have it on your dock down at the bottom. There you can click it. If not you, Congar Oh, ahead and open it from your launchpad If if you do want it to be on your dock so you can see it the minute I have Microsoft PowerPoint here. But just say, for example, if we have Microsoft Excel, if we want to put it down to the dock, if you just click it on Dragon turn and just hold it at the dock until it makes space for on release it, it puts it on to your doctor and there. Okay, if you ever want to remove it from the dock, you just grab it in the same where lifted up until you see the remove option on Release it and you'll hear that puff and it removes it. So that's just every extra there just to help me along, getting things on and off your doc. Okay, so you open up Microsoft Power Point. We've selected a blank presentation on its asking us to create, so that's the first part done. It says, Insert the words Olive or Portugal as the man titles we're gonna put in envy or on for Portugal as the Me entitled on. It wants to insult her own name of the subtitles. We put a room name in there. If you feel that you're able to go ahead and do this by yourself, by all means, do it on speed up the video and you can watch your cedars am toggles on the video there that you can speed it up so you don't need to watch me type and if you're happy enough to go on ahead and do it. But if you do need help for that, use this chance to do it. Number four. Then after two inside of new slaves, we got the new sleigh button on. We inserted the title and content Leo at once, and you can see it's late to on the left hand side. We want to enter tightly and again here. It wants us to put an olive or Portugal again. Okay, there's outdoor particulate on it. Wants us to enter text into the contents action in this slide so it wants. Think it departed. Normal taxed, and that just means no bullet or removing the bullet points from it. Kim Andi. Once you get them typed out or onto number six, note. Inside a new slight choose title and content layered for the sleigh to again. Another new slight. As we said, it's going to be 90% of the time. It's gonna be tight, lean content and they're following information into slight tree. And it hasn't brackets there to use bullets, So we are going to use the bullet. Diverse. Um, so you can see there I have a title is key attractions, so we just want to type in key attractions. That's key attractions in. And we're going to use the bullet points that we're going to click to our text. We're putting in 3.5 kilometers of beach as they say, You don't have to sit and watch me type. And if you're happy enough to do it, speed up the video on. Go ahead. We have an elevated walkway. Well, im just on enter at the end of each lane there. We have historic buildings on. We have restaurants and bars. Okay, so we've them for in there, so we will have to get in all that, the type and then the next thing we want to do is you want to save the presentation, so we have it for later. on, we're going to save it or documents fold up. So we just go to file at the very top here or we can take on the save option. Either one is Okay, so we go to file and save or just use the save icon. It's okay. Whichever one you want to do on it, it's saving it to the documents for that important. Always checked out, make sure you know where it's saving it to, and we're just gonna call it. I'll vote Al Gough holidays. Okay, so you put Algarve holidays in there to Maury, but formats or anything or tags were the saving it as Algarve Holidays Tour Documents folder. This just means that we're all up speed now. We all of the same file on we click on Save I will. For anyone who's happy enough with the courts and the fielder used. This is a refresher. If you don't want to do that task, what I will do is, I would say, if this exact filed in the resource actions you condone, lord it No. So you can also be up to speed with, But if you can take the two or three minutes just to get it. Just so you know that you're okay with every process. Of course. Okay, so we'll see. Is in the next lecture.
15. 16 Tables: Okay, So in this section, what we're gonna do is have a look at entering tables into our presentation. Toe tables can be used as a quick way of showing information. So the likes of maybe temperatures are in all cases. What we're going to use is temperatures, But you can do it for maybe opening hours of a business or sales fakers or something like that if you want to do it quickly. So what we would do is we would go to the home tab. I'm on the home tab. I was on my pictures. Don't go to the home tab. We can go to our new slide, and we're going to do titling content on the ports in tightening content. So I'm just gonna put in here olive or temperature. Okay, on What we're going to do now is we're going to put in a table in the contents action down here, you can see the forced one we have over is a table, and it gives us the option in south table that I always like to use thes the result of ways of doing it, going to the insert tab at the very top here you could go to inside and table on. It will do the same thing. But when we have this option here available, I tend to always use the quickest option cause it's all about trying to get your speed up and train to get quicker out. These making more efficient when you're doing your work. So insert table, we click it. It's gonna ask you how many rules you wanted. Too many columns. Okay, Skin. See columns on rules I'm going to do. I'm just gonna leave it at five columns and we put three rolls in just so you can see it. Remember, the columns go up and down. Okay? Think of a courthouse. The court has always as columns at the front of us. So we go to insert, and there's a tree it puts it in for us on. What we can do is I'm gonna skip into the second column here. So there's the second column. I'm just gonna put in here. May. I'm going to put in here, June. I'm gonna put in July. You need your time button. If you want a on there's August in, we can just put in maybe two years here. This is very simple. Just to show you the different temperatures that we have are two different things. So the temperature in me and June was a in May this year was 22. Okay, on it was degrees. Now, if you were doing degrees like that, what you can do is you can highlight it. And if you go to your home tub, you will have an option for X two like that. You see the X to its superscript. We will do a section like that later on that we conform out. It'll be formatting tax. But that's how you do the degree symbol. And so on June this year was 24 degrees on again. You would have to do that, might put it automatically up normal so we would select it on. We would do the X two on DSO on last year. I'm unsure. So don't quote me on this. I'm gonna put 21 in just for argument's sick. Just so believe something different. I don't know if it was 21 or not and so on. So you can see I will get the correct figures. Once I finished recording the video I'll get the crack figures and they will have them in there for you for so we can go on to the next one. But it doesn't matter what information we have in there. This is just about getting the information that Okay, so once we have the information and I'm just gonna put a couple more in here just so that we have figures in to our slide on, I will correct them so that the hour right? And if I can do the 18 2001 because I have them on on hand here. So that's 26. That one is July. July was 25 on June and someone Okay, so we have them then. So what we have no is we want to add different things to it. Okay, so we want to add m r rows and columns to this is all over the formatting. Remember, the easy bit is just typing in the tax. So you take your time and put your own text into it so that you can know how to type text into it. But the heart of it is going to be four minding the actual table. So if we want to add a row or a column. So just say, for example, we wanted to butt in April's information. The quickest way of doing it is go within the mere column here, and you want a second re click. So with two fingers, do a click down or you can right click. It depends. Want where your computer set up? If using a track pad like like me on a Mac book, it'll be two fingers like or you go into the sidings on Saturday as a a right click. Or, if you're using a mouse sheikhoun sanitary to right click. OK, so once we right click within the column itself, we go down to insert, and it's going to reveal this option here for you, and we want to put a column and anarchist, it's going to be a column to the left because it's going to go into in there. And then we could type in April. Okay, on we put the temperature for him for this year was 19. Kick Andi at Tuesday on there, so it was 19 on the well say last year was 20 the four mining still on their last year was 20 and we have it in there. So you can see that we can automatically put a row or a column in straight away. No. If we want to add another road beneath us again, the quickest way is in the rule in question. Select it. Go to insert on row below, and that will allow you to put a row below. And you could put if you wanted 2000 and 16 and you could odd the different figures, right the way across it. Okay? And we could put them and we won't go. Go ahead and do it now, but you can see how you can add rows and columns to it. Okay, in everything that you have. So this is gonna be the first time we really seen any off thes quarter called contact Jewel tabs. If you watch over the top here, just below the name that we have once I click into a table, a new tab appears. So we always had whole minutes after Zane transitions and so on. But this new one no is here. Terrible design and layers. And these are what's called contact Jewel tabs. Microsoft used them to try and limit the space that there are times stick up in the ribbon . So there's no need for you to have a terrible tapped out when you're not using tables. So it only appears once you start using tables, so everything that you need to do what a table is in these two tubs table design on layout . So if I click out of the table, it goes away back into the table, it pops back up again. The same happens with pictures. We look at that later on on charts on smart are different. Ones will appear up for you. Okay, So the men things would use here if you wanted, you could change the layers so you can see these are just different styles off tables that we have. No. We talk later on about design teams on that light of splash of color to our presentations. But for the start here we have thes different ones, so you can just pick one of them. It doesn't really model which one that we pick. The next thing we want to do on this one is maybe sharing. So if we wanted to, we could select a column or a room like this. So we talk about selecting. First of all, we can select columns and rose. You see columns. I'm just clicking above it with that black arrow pointing down on it selects the different columns that I want to do the same way as when we're selecting taxed to make it bigger or smaller. We would do it. If you want to select the column on a rule, you click on the left hand side. But you can see there the rules. We just like the left hand side of it when we can select it. If you want to select just one single cell, so then boxes in the table are called Celts. You would just go to the left hand side, very bottom left hand corner off ourselves. It gives you a small black arrow pointing up and then you can click on it. And what that does is it only select that one single cells. You don't have to worry about affecting the other cells. If you wanted, maybe to share dad and red so you can see you have a sharing option here and we can go when we composited in red. That you could show that it was a particularly heart month or something for that year, so you can see it only effects. One column. Whereas if I was to select the whole rope, click on the sharing button, you'll see it does the whole rope for us and the same with a column. If I said like the car Liam going to read, it will do the entire column force so you can see that you can control exactly what you do by clicking on the different cells and select them. If you want to select multiple cells or multiple rows or columns, just click and drag down across them that the entire one selected. Or you could click above it on dry to the rice or to the left on it will walk for you that way, too. Okay, so that's how you would select multiple roles and multiple columns. The other thing we have here on the Layer tab would be the height so you can see if you wanted to. So if we select that top column or that top row, we can go on weekend click on the height to make the height of the rule bigger. Or if we said like the column, we can make the wet off the column bigger or smaller as we want. We could also position your course or between them. Two lines on. We can click and drag to the left, or click on drag to the right to make your Kalyan bigger and smaller, a quick temp via if you position your column between them, them to rose. And if you double click, it will do what's called auto Fete. So what automatically fits to the column so you can see I'll do it again between May and June. Double click on it automatically fits to the column so you can see how your table walks for you. Okay, even put your table between trade them there or you can do your columns, your rules on yourselves. Okay, so no other things on the table that we have to do. Usually, that's all. We just do. The rose to a height, the rules, the column, selecting maybe a bit of for mining in the back runs or putting it in. Usually, Microsoft have everything tied up that you can just entered the details into it on. It will work for you. Okay, so in the next lecture, we look, we will have that table to a nicer with the correct figures in it that we can continue on with. OK, let's see. Is in the next lecture.
16. 17 Charts: Okay, so we've gone ahead. I fixed the data in this table, so it looks right. So if you want, go ahead and copy it, then that you have the correct out of force. No, what we're going to do knows we're gonna make a chart based on this and died that we have a chart is going to show us the different temperatures that we've had in different times of the year. So it's gonna be something very similar this, except it's going to be in charge format. So we're going to go ahead and inside a new slate. So I'm gonna put a new titling contents laid, and then I'm just gonna put in temp chart. So it's just going to be a temperature chart. No, the chart function is here. So is the 2nd 1 And at the very top there in search art, they Once I go to answer chart, it's going toe Open up. Microsoft Excel on. The reason for that is Power Point needs some sort of data in the background. To be able to populate this chart or to be able to show data on the chart so Microsoft will open up our pipe. Open up, Microsoft Excel. And it will put sample daughter or Domi daughter in on. Then it would use Don't don't be daughter to put the charter. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go in and we're gonna alter it or change that data to suit our own needs. So we're gonna take on the chart option there. We're going to deliver column chart. But once we deal with condom charge, you should be nearly able to use any of the other ones. So there are very similar in process. It's just a bit learning ho to do one of them. So we're gonna use a condom chart and we're gonna use this Treaty column chart. It's one of the battle locking ones. So we click on it, It's going to open up. Microsoft Excel. You can see them. If your screen is a bigger screen, it may put them side by side. But if using a smaller MacBook screen, it will overtake one with the other. So one will come to the front and the other one will go to the back. So here's our data here and puts it in Series one series two and series Tree Carol we want to trade for. And what we're gonna do is we're going to replace Siri's one series two and series tree with the data that we have in the previous one. So the data that we have was from airport on anyone that used exile privacy. If he just grabbed the auto fill button at the bottom and drag it across, I think we only went as far as August on. Then what we're gonna do is we're going to replace two toes in a near thing with 1000 and 17 on then 2000 and 16. So that was the way we had it. We had nothing in this. Okay? So we can get rid of that stuff there. Andi, I've copied and pasted from previously, so we're going to put it in. Here are data that we have in. We can copy it from here and we're gonna pierced it into our chart. You can take them in or you can copy and pierce that if you want. Now you can see this blue line so the blue lane becomes round. Here is after incorporating this July and August into what we want but it has one extra lane here of the bottom. If you want, you can just drag that up to make sure it's OK to make sure it's only showing the data that you want on. Then what you do is you can go ahead and flows out of Microsoft Excel. It will close out. It won't ask you. Do you want to save it or anything? Because it is using it for its own purposes. Okay, so you can see it's out the partner in a chart there you can see there's 2000 and eight ng I'm gonna just zoom in from just so you can see that I'm gonna put it up a bit so you can see it battle. You can see there. It's after part in in our diet. There it's after parting in April is going to be that blue one. Me is going to be the orange one. Gray, Yeah, and so one you can see it has the legend at the bottom. Here it has each of the different years 18 17 and 16. If you wanted, you could train may be using a bar chart or a lying charred or if it was something something that you wanted to do if you wanted to shore comparisons. We have a chart tight Larry here. We're looking a second. How we we would change that on then. We have two million charred area. No. Try and get into the habit off Any time that you're using these charts those different areas off the charts. So if you want, if I hover across here, tells me it's the back wall. If I Harvard on here, it's gonna tell me it's the legend, didn t It's the legend there. Okay, this area here is gonna be the sidewall. Then we have the chart area appears to the child area is going to be this me and area around at the back here. Onda, we have plotted areas here. OK, so it's different areas. So when you're selecting, just make sure you click on the different areas off the ones that you want. So first thing we want to do is you want to change the chart title, so if we click on it, we can click in then and we can change the chart title, and we're just gonna put in olive or temperature are you put in Whatever you feel is is appropriate for it. That can be formatted. We were, luckily around formatting text that can be formatted similar to any text in any different programs that use with Microsoft. The other thing we can do is we can change this backwater every click it on. We go up here, we have this contextual tab. So these are the contractual tubs that we would have seen coming up and we would see more off them that when we're not using them, they're not their charts. Is another one off these? So once we're using charts, anything we need to use with charts is going to come up here. So in the four, my tablets going allow you to change any former type things. So you can see here at the minute we have a ship filled section. So the ship fell. If I was to pick a color, it will change the color off the back wall for me. They'll notice it only changes the back wall where I have selected. If I was to go to the floor, so I'm just gonna go down to the floor here. You can see I have the floor of a click on it. You can see the hundreds here, here, here and here. So it's within that rectangle there if I click on it. If I go to format on, I'm going to change the color. I'm gonna put it to maybe an hour and color or this color here, and you can see it automatically president for me so you can see your starting together. You can incorporate your own company colors with us to make sure that it's fitting your needs, whatever needs that you need. Each individual thing can then be changes while each individual bar. So if I click on one bar, you can see it's selecting all the blue. So there's blue, blue on blue. And if I go to my format Andi, click on the ship full, I can change it to whatever color you want. I'm gonna put it to a green just so we know the color. But you can see a change it and it will automatically change this April down at the bottom , here to for us. Okay, so that's some quick things. There about charts? No, some of the things you may want to do when a child is in may. Want to change the tape of chartered years, and I'm just going to scroll. Bykota weep. So if you wanted to change your chart, type the quickest way to do it. It's secondary click. OK, so if you secondary click, it's going to give you right click manual. Second re click on a Mac is a day or two finger click of your using a tripod. So just Richard two fingers pressed on your tripod. Or if you're using a month, she can right click on the mouse. It gives you an option change chart. Type on here we have column lying pie pie chart won't really walk with this data. Pie chart is more like a percentage best thing where it needs a full 100% that split it up for you. We'll try a line chart so you can see if I put in. We can do just a straightforward two D Lane chart. If I click on us on a change that doesn't look great there, you see. So depending on the amount of data that you have, it's our depending on the type of data that you have it will look bad. Okay, you be better with this. What may be a bar chart or a column chart. Here's to deep. Our chart will look similar. So you can see it shows you 2016. Here we have 25 or 26 degrees. No, I'm gonna put that back to our tree D card in because they're the best looking ones out of them on the best for walking much. Okay, So the next thing we want to do is if you find yourself in the situation that you need to change some of the diocese, you'll realize that some of the daughter is in wrong. What you can do is in the chart designed top of the very top here. We have an option here that you can added data in excel. So if I click out, it will reopen up Excel. I can change, or I can ID. So just say, for example, if you wanted to add to 2000 and 15 find a certain number things. Now again, I'm putting these in here. I don't know if the right or wrong we put them in. We're not too worried about fights. Okay? 24 in just 25. When I put that data in those out of us, you'll see it will know incorporated House and 15 into my chart for me. Okay, so that's the man thing here. When you're moving a charge them again. We don't tend to move charts and PowerPoint because PowerPoint, after putting it into the center of the and Slade for us, so we don't need to move around the place. But if you ever do want to move it, this is where you want to grab it up at the top corner. I always out of Harvard go for the top right corner, but you can go bottom right or bottom left or top left. I always tend to go for the top corner on. You can drag it. The reason they tell people to go there is it's the only place, really, that it's not gonna effect anything else. If I go to drag in the middle, you can see there's nothing moving for me. If I go to drag on one of these, you can see it's opening up different things for me. If I go to drag here, it's moving better pieces It just doesn't walk out the way you want it. Words. If you drag up the top right corner, you can move it around the screen without having any effect on anything else. The other thing with charts, then that we have AIDS. It's very hard to make out whether this is 25.1 or 25.2. We know we have the mall. A 25 or 26 were all rounded off, but sometimes you may want to. I'd labels to that. If you're already in with aspirin points, Quickest way is if you right click our second click. There's an option there for adding died a levels you put it on and you can see it puts it straight into 27 26 25. So that's grind. If you want to, just I'd want to. But the next thing we want to do nose, I'd all of the diner labels right across the top foot here. I'm for that option. We use this, I'd charge element up here, the top left, so once we click on it, we just like in here. It gives us all the options, and it's the same for title land access tightly can change all of them things. But Dr labeled is going to be the me and one we're gonna be dealing. But at the minute it's set up, none data call. It is going to give you like that. We came in like a speech bubble. I put it on talk so you can see it. It shows it here, but it's hard enough to make if you're looking at it just short. So what we want to do is the main thing is data levels, more down level options going open up in the right hand side for a seal on. You can see value is just checked on it to make sure your value checked on. You can put it on each of them here. If we were dealing with our pie chart, it would give us an option there for percentage that we could put the different percentages in. So that's dealing with charging. And we may look when we get into doing practice exercises on sample tests, we may look at other things. We can do it charts once we're in a situation before the time being, that will get you where you need to be with charts. Okay, so we'll see. Is in the next actual
17. 18 Design themes: Okay, so the next thing you want to look it so we have a content in most of the content. What we're going to look at know is how we would add a bit of collar tube on the way we do that is using design teams. So the same team's If you want to go ahead and click on your design tab. I'm just going to make this window. We but small. I've been too big. Can't see my Okay, so we have designed top here on your ribbon. We kick onto the design tablet. You don't need to do this for each individual slate. It does it for the whole presentation. But what we do is you can see here we have a couple of design teams here on these design teams will allow you to change the overall look of your presentation. They all very indifferent, from colors to styles on types of font, all that type of things. What it does is it just drastically changes the look of your presentation. That's why I always say the students do the walk forced. Get all the data in first on, then you can put the color to it and you can do all them things, but you can get your stuff enforced. So what we do is you can see here under the same tab. We have all these different here, depending on the screen side you're using you Will Seymour the making only see six of them here. If I click on the down arrow, it's going to show me more of them. And I can also browse for them. I can go and look online or elsewhere on my computer to see if there's any other ones that I may have saved. You can also create your own designed him. So if you work for a company, you can create resigned and we were looking out and when the layer electricity created design team and then you can save it, so dating use it over and over again. On that's good, cause that keeps all your presentations looking the exact same. So what you do is you would go on, pick one of the different teams that you like the color off or you like the style over. You're like the way it looks. I'm gonna go for this one here on if you see it's called bare land. So we have across that it's called Berlin and or they'll all have names. Their notice, each of them design teams has six we squares or rectangles at the bottom left hand corner for different colors. There, the colors that are available to you when you're using that theme. So different backgrounds, different shades, different found colors. It won't give you like this one here. Say, for example, this gray one, and you can see the colors that it gives us the cane of a yellow on a grey and other types of grey haven't got thes mind blue collars or mild red colors. It's very subtle, whereas if you go to one of the other ones, this blue when it's kind of summary, neon looking one, it has different type of colors down. This one has the one to them. Colors that are there to call. The theme colors will march the type of thing that you're going to do so we just click on it. Once we kick on it, you can see your attitude straight away, and you can see it automatically brings your presentation to to life. It gives it up bit of color. We can do different things here. We can change the Grady and that we want to. You can see we can add more red or last red, depending on what we like. I quite like it over here. Maybe what? We but last right, So you can you can see that when you do put your design team and you can alter the change we bits and pieces that you can do just to make it look that we but better or suit you that we've been more so using the design team, I think is the best way off adding color to your presentation Notice every Slade looks the exact him. Now you're titles are in the same place. You're the black bar across the top there. Obviously the planning on the one the use, they're all gonna be in the same place. If you're trying to do Dr Side to create a lot more work, this is more straightforward. It looks the part Microsoft respect paired thousands to get someone to design these for us , so we should use them. So that's adding design teams and we will look for their own later at how we would save our own Zain thing. But for now, that's all. We want to have a look, so we'll see, is in the next action.
18. 19 Headers and Footers: Okay, So in this next section, we wanna have a look at headers and footers. So headers and footers of anyone has done Microsoft Word in the past. You understand what happened? Photos are, but we're going to start from scratch anywhere with this. So headers and footers or sections that are going to appear on top and bottom of each and every Slade within your presentation. No presentations. It's mainly usually only the bottom Were the pier bought some off the design templates that we use or to the same teams that we use me allow it to be on the top or the site. So depending on the theme that using that may appear in a different section. Okay, so the first thing we do is it doesn't matter what Slade we kick on. Okay, so we take on a slide on, we go to the insert tab, but with the very top on your ribbon on, there's a section here called Header on Fora. So we kept on head on forum, and it's going to open up this dialogue box for us. So we're on slide at the minute is the main thing or focus in at a minute on your showing, it showing me here that my presentation has trace actions to it so you can see the area that's highlighted in the dark or bold area. So there's this action that we're dealing with, so we're gonna walk away their intruders. Boxer. The first thing is the date and the time. Do we want to do the day and the time? Where do you want to show the debt in time? On this and presentation, I'm gonna take into it and you can see it's after highlighting in bold or click off it again, and you can see that that's where it's going to show the date and time. So leave options here than we've updated automatically or fixed. So if we want to, if it's a recording presentation that we're gonna be giving time and time again, weaken sedative automatically updated. But that means that each time it opens, it will have today is dead on it. So in 10 years time, it will have 9 2020 years on it, okay? Or we can fix it and it would put today's date on. It would remain that no matter when you open a 10 years from there, Whatever. It also gives you options to select the four miles off the debt. So again, depending on what region you're in, you may use a different read of different dead former. I'm gonna leave it at the default one there for the time being. The next one is the slide number. So the slight number I'm gonna take it and you can see it's gonna pay up here on the right hand side. So for this particular design theme that I'm using, you can see it's gonna pay are up here in this section. This are in section here, the number off the slide they am again. You have a look and see what design team use. And if you want for practice, used this one and then you can try different ones. Numbers start. I'm gonna leave it at one. You may have a case where you might want to start it. Maybe five or six. If you had done previous walk with the size or the group, you can start at whatever number that you want. Your father then is here so you can see here. It's gonna be the last section So we click into the photo it shows up on we add our tax here, So I'm just gonna put my own name in here. You can add whatever tax do you want. If it was a company or a group you're working for, you can put it in there on the last thing we have then down at the bottom here is don't show entitled site. So when you are doing a presentation, your title sleight is going to be the force laid that people see when they come into the room or when you start up your presentation. So if you don't want to show slight numbers death or the photo on your title slide, you would click that. And that's what I would you usually do on it will start off your second slate, Then it will still remain a slave to So we have two options there at the bottom. Then we can a play or a Plato. All ah, play will just to play it to whatever, Slade that your clicked on the left hand side, which is number two in my kiss. But a play to all with a player to the entire presentation and that's the option we want to do. So we click on a plate world and you can see it's after parting in my name down the bottom corner Here it has the slave number appear on the right hand side on it has the deity. Oh, no, you'll see it's after going. The whole were true. There's different ones, right? The were true on my title. State doesn't have anything on it. So you can see if the title side of it was on a time going. Ensure you I'm just gonna say it. Don't show entitled Slater Plato all going to take it off. Andi, do they play towards Didn't time slide number photo on. I'm going to see sure. Entitled Slade. I'm gonna say Plato so you can see now it doesn't look right straight away. OK, so ideally, you want to have it that it's not shown on your title slide. Okay, apply to all and takes it off. So that's headers and footers. Very, very simple. But they do give that little bit extra to your presentation. The passion lies away, but for you to give her name in the photo. You also have that slight number on the side on the days is a good thing for your people to be able to see so you would use them in every presentation. So I see is in the next election.
19. Starting slideshow: no. So we have their bones off our presentation ready? And obviously, if you're going to be doing a presentation for a walk or a group, your welcoming or something like that, it's going to be a whole lot better. What more content? In a more accurate content and you'll always have pictures and things are We're just doing this for a sample just to get up and running with it. So what we want to do next is we want to look at how we would run the presentation toe. We have all the data in. We're ready to put it up in the big screen, or we're ready just to run at the start casting and to make sure it's working. OK, so we want to do what's called our sleigh chou. So this is where you show your slides to the audience or your your presentation. So to do this, we call to slide show on the top of the very top around the ribbons of the break top. We have slave jewel on. We've two options we have clear from Start our player from current slate. I'm on slate for at the minute. If I was the player from Corrine slated with started slate for But I'm gonna play it from Start on. It will start my presentation so you can see here it eggs over your full screen. We have a presentation view here. Now, if you were standing up in front of an audience, this is what they would see on the big screen. Or if you have a big monitor or something like that is what they will see. There's a number of ways that you can navigate round this presentation. The first way is your return key. So on the keyboard there were turnkey takes you to the next light, the delete button will take you back. So I'm pressing return on impressing the lease that's taken me back. And obviously, when you're doing a presentation, you wouldn't be going backwards. We're just using return. We would talk about whatever we need to talk about on this slide on. Then we would press return again to do it. The other options is the arrows. So you have your arrows or your I am on your arrow keyboard, the arrows of their Did you contract them to use them Or you may have a most victory. You can click on the most like that, and you can also get a presentation. Their names on them were more control. A clicker that you could hold in your hand. It would be connected either via USB or via Bluetooth on you could click it, and when you take it, it moves your laptop on or your Mac book on. You can also set it up that your iPhone can be used. Anyone with an iPhone and a Mac book, it can be used as our remote controlled for it. There's a remote control up there. We might have a look at that letter on, and you can use your phone. Then when you tap your phone on scroll on your phone, it will move the screen for you connected to it. Okay, so when you are doing the presentation, you would run your were true. The presentation like that knew the Reds presentation options don't hear the bottom that we can see so you can do different things. You can draw on that. You can use a pen to write on it. We will have a locally in Iran at doing all them things, but for the time being, we're just going to look at the presentation, how to get it up and running. No. The other option, then, is when you want to come out of the presentation. This is Maurin a testing environments or not when you're using it to ized it, to show students at all when you're showing and people this presentation when it's finished . But when you're testing it, you're going to find yourself running the presentation, checking to see if it works and then coming out of it, the way you come out of it is hit the escape key on the keyboard. It will take you back at very top left hand corner. You can also hit the return key, right? The way a truth until you get to the very end on that will do it for you. Okay, so when the next actually look at some of the other things we can do with it
20. 20 Slide Master: no. So in this lecture, we're gonna have a look at what's called the Slide Master. So Microsoft has everything pretty much laid out for you that you can go and just start typing into different bits and pieces on a creative presentation, and then you run the presentation at the end. But from time to time, you me want to change things, you may want to do things that are affecting it. So when we started at the front, I'm just going to create a new presentation just so we can talk about just a new presentation in just a blank on. Okay, so this presentation we have said at the start of the course that we have a slide, which is the white area on the page here on, we have thes players holders that are placed on top for so the white area that you have there. That sleight is just a page. Think of it as being an air force sheet of paper. It's blank. OK, you've a blank canvas to walk out on your placing, your placeholders on your pictures and different types of things on top of it. But what we can do is we can add things to dice, wife, bit of paper and the by Grant Think of company headed paper. It comes in a park it printed in all with the company logo on the top food. We can do something similar to that on. The way we do it is I'm gonna go back into my I'll golf holidays thing you for just the mind. And we wanted to put a picture on our slide. Maybe we put it up here a top corn Rokia, top left corner, a small picture or a local that you wanted to appear on every single slide right the way through the presentation. But you don't want to put it in nature. And we've already got six or seven slides here, so we'd have to put that picture, not only put it in six or seven different times, but we would also have to make sure it's in the same place on each light because if not, it's gonna move from place to place whenever people's viewing the presentation. So what we can do is we can view the slide master. So if we go to the view tab up with the very top And then there's an option for Slide Master. So view and the ribbon and then slide master and click on it. So this is the way your slides are laid out. It's the rules that govern your slides. So just say, for example, the text you can see. If I go, I'm gonna click into the tax deal. I'm gonna take back on my home tub just so what? I can see it. The taxes all size 36. So each slide right the way through your presentation, the heading size of your taxes size 26. That's what I said earlier. We don't really touch them. We let them out. But from time to time, we may want to change it. Okay, In your slate modesty of a couple of different things, we have the overall slave master and you can see it here. It's the barrel in Slate Master. So this is the slide master off the design template or the design team that will were using and then within that you can see we have a number of different ones down here. So these are the different layouts. So we have title and content blank and titling to content. So each different slide has then its own slide master that will govern it. So, for example, this one here you can see it's coming up. There is a title and contents lately out, and it's also showing us that it's used by slide 2 to 4 on 6 to 7. I'm care. So we're gonna go back and overlook. No, that's laid fight just to see what was the difference. What's late? Five. I'm gonna close over this late master. Look in here and close. So if I go back to Slate five, you can see Number two Tree and four or title and content slides. Number five is titled on to content, so you'll remember earlier on. We don't not on then Number six and seven is tightening content, so it's showing us exactly what the Slade's Air using care slave master again If I go to this one here is titling to content. You can see it's being used by slide five. So if we wanted to order something on all the title and contents lights, we would go in and we would make a change to this slight master here. And if we wanted Teoh added the title and who content? We would have to change it to this one. But this is the overall when here at the top. So any changes made to this will affect averaging, right? The way down truth. So this is what we're going to do? I'm gonna inside a picture. So I'm going to click on the slide. I'm going to go to insert, and then I'm gonna go to picture. Okay, on the picture is in my files. It's in my file that I'm gonna put it from my desktop, So I just saved a logo. It's my own company, local, so I can use it. We put it in here, I'm gonna inside it. And Mike, when big or a small to wheat products right up the very top corner, we can make it a week with smaller. If we want just that, it's not taken up too much space. They don't want to overtake the screen. But I do want to use something that we can we can see. Okay. So you can see there it is no right up. The very top corner on what we do is we can close out of the slave master than so Go back to the slave master tub, which is over here close. We don't need to save anything because it's part of the presentation. So he goes out of it and you'll see on each slide if I click on the Force one there, we have computer classes. Donaghy rate. The were truth. It's after going on Every Slade rated were true. If I go to click on it on, I put in a new slide, maybe tighten content and see it has it under new slate. So that's a good way of adding content that you want to go on each slate, right? The waitress know if I was toe only do one off the Slade's. So if I go back, I'm going to go back into my slave master. So view, slave Master, I'm going to remove it. Time taken under top one, remember? Because it's from all of them. If I click on that and I take it off, I'm just sure you know. So it'll be gone off all the slaves now. So if I go back to view slave Master, I'm going to click on this one here, which is the title and contents. You'll see it's coming up to tighten content layout, so this will only put it on the slides that use the title and content layers. So if I goto insert now again for the picture from file on again, we'll use that. Had our logo on insert You can see. Now I'm gonna put it up here up to the top corner. Exact same theory is what what we did. But instead of taking on the top one and Iran A clicked in the top one, this time I'm using on individual Leo Short. It's lately, out massed up. So I go back to my slave master. I go too close yet see? No, it doesn't appear on the top title ball. It doesn't the second toward Fort Number five doesn't have it on it because remember, it doesn't use title and content layout. It uses title into content on then number six and seven on it. Have it on us. And if we go to add a new slide, you'll see all the slides we have here. But one of them no, you may find it very hard to see at the top. Left hand corner. You can see it has that small thing. So what we're afternoon is we're after going in and altering the background or altering the taxed or not text ordering the slide that when it puts in this light, that content is already on it. You can do things like so I'm gonna go back up to one of these slides so you can see here the slides use a small bullet point so you can see they have a small bullet point they'll on. If we were to put in there, we will did as in another lecture. But if we were to pretend I am another bullet point with him Sandy Beach, Okay. And what what can we say here will say M beds off power souls, or we'll just say Sandy beach, Just sandy beach, If I was to take of the start of it impressed my tab key. So the tab key is just to the left heart above the caps lock. You can see it indented for you. Okay, so it puts it at a different level, and you can see I have a circular ball it on another circuit or bullet there. So that's obviously what stipulated in the master. Okay, but if I go out of it, I'm gonna change this nosing on a view. I'm going to go to Slight Master. I'm going to do it on the overall when I always tend to do it on the overall one here. So you can see here. It shows you the different levels of the bullets. So the forced bullet here is a circle. The 2nd 1 is Ah, circle again. If I wanted her, I could click here. I could go to home, I could go to my bullets and I could maybe put on a tick box. You can see now the 1st 1 is a circle. The second is a tech box. The told one. I just change it. Just so we have something to go against is a box And again I'm gonna go to the slave Master . I'm closing this Lake monster Don't need to save it. You can see it automatically has changed for me. It has put the circle here which we had then it has the tech box again. If I go another one, I'll just say I'm going to say waves. If I put it over one I took of the start of it. Press my tub. You can see No, it has another level. So you can add different levels or do different things. So that's the type of thing you can do with the slide Master. You can alter things right to intrude. Just say, for example, if you thought that this box here was too big, I don't mean the box that I'm clicking on. I mean, this orange box here. So you just wanted that maybe a wee bit smaller, you could go to view slave Master, You could go appear the top corner. You could click on us. We can do it on the tightening content. Yes, they took on the box in the background on we could make it smaller. It's going to look away, but wrong, but we don't mind. We just do it for the time being close. The slight master on you can see No, it's made that box morning. It hasn't taken the shadow with it. I should have taken that shot up. But you will notice that it's only done it on the title and content wants okay, because that's the only one that we changed. So you can make changes like that. You can go through it and you can change different pieces. If you didn't like, for example, the where the header and footer is so you can see that had on photos away but far up. We could move it down individually like that, but they have to move it down individually for each one. So what we can do is go into view. Go into our slave master on. Once we go into the slave master, we can go into this option here, the very top one. Click on your head on photo and you can drop it down. That one. You would drop this one down as well, so that it looks right on a click on dry. Get turned on That will drag a turn for you. So once we close out of it, you can see now it will have are right The way down. Truth we have and head on for our right down at the bottom There. Okay, so that's the slight master. It's used for altering the background off your slides, doing anything that you need to do to the layout of your off your slide back runs on kiss where C is in the next election
21. 21 Transitions: No, no, that we have got the presentation actually looking like a presentation or a slave jewel that we can show it to people. I want to assure you the different types of things that we can do So when we're running true presentation, So I'm just gonna play it from the start here. I'm going to use the and turkey and keyboard order Return key. I'm gonna take it. You can see that when I go from screen to screen. It's quite choppy, so it's quite am go back or to show you so from one screen to the next. There's no flow in that. There's no movement. It's just one screen goes and the other one comes. Okay, so what we can do is pressing escape on the keyboard. It's going to take us back here to this design view that we can design our presentation. So there's a tab at the very top of the ribbon, called transitions. Transition is where it goes from one slide into the next light. So from Slade to tree earlier on, it was just slate to as they are dental. A tree was there, so it's very choppy. It's very movement There's no kind of fluid movement enough. So what we can do is we can play different things. True. So you can see here. There's a couple of different er fared. Push, wipe, split revealed caught. You may have mawr or less, depending on the same screen that you're using. Onda We also have more than here that we can see. So there's different ones? No, I have always found your battle with some of these more subtle ones. Okay, Like a fed or a reveal or wipe or something like that. If you go into these other ones here, the kind of become a wee bit gimmicky looking okay a week, but last professional looking the fine if you're doing something just to show somebody or for practice. But they do get quite gimmicky looking and quite strange looking. So you're better on for something like maybe a fed or a wipe or a reveal. I quite like the Fed. I'm going to use fair just for this one, so I'm gonna take it on. You would have seen it happening there away, but very quickly The other options we have here nice with these orders, working away through them. So we have a fade here. We're after putting it on the duration. Here on this duration is the duration of ticks toe happen. So for it to fed from slight to the slight tree is going to take 0.7 of a second. We can put it up or down if we want to see what we're gonna leave it at one second there, the sound again you can have a sound on. So if you want, when this feared is happening, it will do a sound like a wash or an IRA. Layers are are a push or a beep or something. I tend to leave it off this option here, a suspect it's on. Most click on what that means is it's going to move from one slated. You don't when I take the most. So when I click the an turkey or when I pressed the button undermined the most point or that I'm gonna have. That's the way I would always tell people to do it. On last, you're creating something that you want to be automated. If you're standing in front of an audience talking, you don't want to be tied to time you want the slate to move on whenever you press the button or whenever you take on the most, Do you want to make sure that happens? The last thing we want to do is apply to all here. If we apply to all, it's going to do it. All the slides in the presentation again. Ideally, you'd want the same one. You don't want each light in the presentation having a different transition. Because what happened then is people are looking at the transition and not really looking at the presentation. It becomes a kind of a circus show. So you want to have a Plato All Andi know we're going to run the presentation again. All of these things are only my experience the way I have always done it. So if you want to have a different transition on each late, by all means you you do that. So we're going to start it from the start? No. So you'll see. It opened up a really wrong When we went to slay two, it was choppy. It went slayed. One was there Upton sleigh to when I kept taking the return key. You're going to see no is going to be more gradual. It's gonna Qena feared and for you, so you'll see it. So it's a cane of a last gradual. If we want, we can do it slower again. Transition. I'm gonna put it maybe to 1.5 seconds on a Plato all on. Then I'm gonna run my slave show from the start, and I'm gonna press that no on yet. See? It's cane of slower. Okay, so you can play about what it put it up or down and do the different things. If we did want to do one of the other ones. So if we wanted to put one of their maybe I dissolve or a checkerboard so you can see them there. It shows exactly what it's going to do, and we can apply to all some people might like this. You gonna slay Joe Player from Corrine Slide and you'll see it starts to go. You had return. It's going to go on to the next slide on the next one then and so on. Right the way true to you can see straightaway. You're starting to build a better of animation into it are built a bit of transition into it. That's starting to look. Maybe we but mawr like a presentation and not just a load of pictures that you've put together on it. Okay, so that's transitions. Do be sure that when you're using them that you select first of all, the transition here that you want. Go for one of the But this is my advice only Go for one of the last gimmicky ones. Then you would go whatever direction you want. Usually the default is okay. I don't tend to put a sound on it by your means. If you want to do put asunder a most tickets perfect on, then a plate Oil is the most important. But at the very end on that allows you to be able to do it so you can see straightaway. How well would, after going in and out of that presentation four or five times down there, So that's what you're gonna find yourself doing. You'd be going into the presentation checking at the Cedars and walk or care fear on then going and fixing something, then to make sure that it works for you for the next section. Okay, so we'll see. Is in the next action we'll get walking on, then animations
22. 22 Animation: my for this action. We're gonna look at animations, so it's going to look at getting your presentations to start looking that we but battle, I have this one under screen at the minutes. It's going to be the main reason you would use animations if you are speaking about four things like we have here, So people tend to read on ahead when you're speaking. So we might want to talk about 3.5 kilometers of beach where people are reading on about restaurants and bars. So it's a good idea if you can keep that things you have on the screen until you're ready to show them. So what we're gonna do is we'll do first of all, so we're gonna click into the where the placeholder is again. Very important. Always like into other placeholders on. We select the first bullet point and we have the animations top. I have it open here. So the animations tab and again you can see very similar to earlier on like we have with the traditions on the design teams and so on. So we have thes green 20 on a degree, enough for entrance on care sequencing. Here we have the entrance once. So again, there's basic ones. There certainly was moderate and then start getting a wee bit mind. Okay, so we're going to use I'm just going to use this fly N one. Okay, I'm gonna click on us, and it's going to show you what's gonna happen. It's after open up the animations tab on the right hand side, but you can see it happens. No, there's a quick tip I'm going to give. You know, when you select that we're going to the Sakhalin, I select it. I'm going to go up to the top. I'm gonna fly in. It's going to do the animation on. There's going to be a number of here and decide on the left on site, So watch it. Okay, so it's showing the order that are common in, so don't try to rush on too far ahead. Before you have that done. Click. It's Give yourself a couple of seconds. No, it's okay to go on. Did an axle? Don't do a too quick. Let it do its thing and let it do its okay. So I have to put in the order in there. If you want on the right hand side here, you can see you can change the order to the common. You would never want to do that because that you want them to come in in the order that they do. OK, I'm going to do this. One here is Well, so this is just a bit of text. I'm going to select the text on again. I'm gonna use fly in for this. I'm a great believer of always having everything to see him right there were true because if it's no other saying, people are waiting to see what's comin next, as opposed to listening to you speaking. So I'm gonna start my sleigh Chur got a sleigh, Joe player from start And here we have. So here's salvo Portugal comes up. We welcome the class or the people that at the presentation we talk about No, we start speaking about a presentation he had anta on our taxes going to fly in No kids so we can hit the enter button attacks raising toe instead of a rental button being used to bring in the different slides. No, it's being used to bring in as well as the difference lights It's been used to bring in the different key points or two different numbers that we have there. So we talk about out of orbit. People can see what's on the board. We click the and turkey yard, the key on your most of your phone or whatever it is, and you see it now. I'm going to speak about some of the key attractions that I love or has the Force one. We have a street 10.5 kilometre of beach so you can talk about this tree 0.5 kilometers of beach all you want until you're ready to go on to the next point. People don't know, so you have straight away. You have the audience's attention because awaiting on what's coming next, or not losing them so we can con enter. You speak about the elevated walk where you speak about the historic buildings and so on until you're ready and then you go on to the next section on you do there so straight away you're starting to capture the audience or starting to get their attention that they're not reading on ahead of you. You can also do the same with pictures, taking the picture Goto, animations Onda We can then go to whichever we want Maybe dissolve in our blinds whatever we want to do. And we can take it in or flying and we can leave but flying and on. If I go back again, then I'm just gonna go back one slide. I'm going to start to slay Chou from current slide this time instead of from the other one . So I go current slide, I'm gonna go. There's the 1st 1 in this. We talk about it. The second one's in the 3rd 1 then in the Ford Wins and we go on to the next light on. Then what we do is we can show a picture whenever we want so we can talk about on then hit the button on the picture pops in for us so you can see there straight away. You're in control of the presentation. I was opposed to the underwear around. No. One of the other things I like to do when using animation is I am taking things in unthinking things out boat. So we have the things coming in now and you can see them on the right hand side of green in green, green, green. Sort about flying in. Know what I want to do is we want to select the Force One. I'm gonna go toe animations here at the top. But instead of flying in, I'm going to get it to fly out. So I'm just gonna get a fly out again and we do it. No. So you can see here. It's going in as number five. You can see it. So we have 3.5 kilometers coming in on the more common in and then the force from going out . I am going to bring that up. So it is number two. So that bit of taxes flying in Dennis Flying ash. I'm gonna do the same with the other ones just very quickly and talking with the truth to the forced one. It has. We have it flying in number three is elevated walkway flying in. Then we're going to do elevated walk were flying out again, apart it up so that it's up at number tray. So I want to put it down one so you can see greens common in red's going out historic buildings. Then you could do this all at the time. I just want to show use. First of all, if you don't it for yourself. Obviously you would do it IES your dinners. So historic buildings. I'm too far again for even six under. Last we want is restaurants and bars. Okay on its going. It's okay to have that one at the very end. So you can see here. Can I can put it down so you can see it. So number animation number one is tree 10.5 kilometers. Coming in. Number two is going out. Then tree is elevated. Walkway elevated walk. We're going out. Coming in, out, in, out. So I'm going to run it from this light. So I hope you're still let me now. So what we're doing is we're going to bring in a bit of taxed. We're going to speak about it. We're going ahead, it it's going to go away, and then we're going to bring in an expert of text. So the people that we're looking at are only focusing on the thing that we're talking about . So we go to our snatcher on. We play from current slight because it's located there from this one. So this is still on a testing period. So we bring in 3.5 kilometers off beach. Then we pressed return It goes away, press return again. The next one comes in, we speak about it. Then we prancer tar nickels away comes in cause I comes in, goes on then we're onto the next light. We could also I know we're getting we, but I'm gonna copy this picture because it's going to be one that we could use. We could put in as well. We could put a picture here. Oh, no. Our slide. I'm going to leave it there. Andi, I'm going to click on it. But the minute we have no animation copied the animation from the last time. So what we I want to achieve with this Now you can see what we're doing. Those were starting to build up our repertoire of things that we can do. So what broad 3.5 in were taking 3.5 vote? No. What I want to do is when tree pine five kilometers comes in. I want to bring in this picture, so I'm going to take in the picture. I'm gonna add an automation for the picture to appeal towards appear off, lay in or whatever we lose fly again because the restrooms are playing. It went in his number nine because it's the last one on. We just need to make sure that it's up where we want it. So there. Okay, so you can see the layer of it here. So 3.5 kilometre of beach is common in on. Then we have a picture common in on. Then we have We better put the picture out. So we click on it, we exit on, we fly out on. Then we're gonna put this up here. It was getting very complicated. No getting into it. Well, so we put it in on so 3.5 kilometers is common in the picture comes in the picture was aged the right and goes out. And then the new writing comes back in and you can add to this over and over again to build up your presentation. So we go to slideshow player from current slide. So we bring in the force bit of text. It's going to come in for us. Then we bring in the picture. We can speak about the picture or we want People can see exactly what's on the picture We put away the picture, put away the taxed when we bring in the next one Okay? And we can build it up like that We can then put in another picture I'm not gonna do the more I'm just going to do this one so you can see the way it works. Pictures I'm gonna dio from file on. I have the pictures here. Okay, So we're just gonna put a boat in? No, that is the boat. This one. I'm gonna put the picture in. I'm gonna put it to the same. Say it's noticed the way when we're not using the place orders No, to put the pictures in. It's a lot harder. We have to manipulate the pictures. Okay, so there's my picture and off the boat on. I'm gonna I'd on animation going in, so I'm gonna fly it in on. I'm going to add an animation flying. Okay, there would be down at the bottom here. Picture 11. I wanted to be after elevated walkways. Comes in on picture 11 going out. I wanted to be before elevated walkways because that so have I got that right. This needs to be done to Okay, So elevated walkways come comes in. The picture comes in the picture result elevated walkways closer So you can see No, we're up to 12 bits of animation here so far that we have. But this would make your presentation people with their while we look at this. Okay, so we start a presentation. People say 3.5 kilometers comes in. Then our picture comes in. We talk about it, We put it out. We put away the text. We take in the new text we take in the picture. We talk about it, picture goes away, text goes away, the new tax goes in on. We haven't any more pictures there. But you can see exactly know what we're trained to build up on. You would need to then see of this to make sure nothing happens it on you would have to go in a note and make sure it works, right? And make sure everything's coming in and out the way the are. But you can see with the animations over here on the right hand side, you can control what's coming in and you have. All these pictures are all these. We numbers here to show you exactly what's going in and going out on when it's going in and out. So I hope you enjoyed that lecture. It is getting very, very advanced. Now we're getting up there with it. So this is where we want to be out. We want to start getting into this, that we can make a presentations look better than the other person's presentations. You want to give a person that presentation on the person coming behind? This is Oh, no, I don't have to go after this. Okay, so we're under the right track. So what? See, is in the next election
23. 11 Formatting text: okay. And for this section here, I just opened up a new presentation. We're gonna have a look at formatting. So formatting text. Andi, we're just going to use a blank presentation rather than adding to the presentation that we have been using. So we've opened up a blind presentation. I'm just gonna add a new slide in here. So just a tightening content on in the contents action. I'm just going to click in where it says, take the ride taxed on. I'm going to remove the bullet point by tapping on the delete button. And Microsoft has formula and all its products that will allow people are students to put in sample text that they can use for practicing with. So the formula is equals or a nd for runned. You can open the brackets. I tend to put a number in between the brackets, so one and close the brackets so equals or a and E one until the brackets. This will give us one paragraph of random text and we press enter on the keyboard and it doesn't first. And if we would've put two in there, it would give us two paragraphs. Tree will give us tree into one, but one is Lourdes for the time being. So what we're gonna do is we are going to first of all, have a look at selecting the text when the text is in a place order, so you can see now the taxes inside the place older. If I go to selected the side of it here, I can't really select that. You may be lucky may just be able to grab it, but usually what you need to do is click into the place all and then you can click on drag across it on. It will allow you to select it when it's in the place. Order like that. You can select that if you're lucky and you just take on it. But clicking on it first of all allows you don't to do it. So you select your tax force the vaults. Once we have a tax elected, that's what we want to change or alter on. This is the fonts action of the home tab here, so you can see we have different options here. The Force one is the fun type, so the minute it's Saturday Calibri, which is the default for Microsoft Word. If we kick on it, you see it's going to show us a number of different options that we have here. So there's a number of different funds that we can use and just a matter of going through them on picking out which ever one you want. We're gonna pick a different type of fund of respect, this one, and you can see it straight away. It changes the font for you. The next one is different sites. So we select the different types of fund here to next sentence that we have there. We have the fun say that the minute it saves 20 years, we can put it up to 36 or 40 or whatever the case is. So the most important thing, every time you can see it's selecting the fund before you actually going to next thing we haven't gonna select just the next sentence. This a is fund grow or increased font size. Agencia we click it, it will make the fund point size bigger. Clicking it on the other one is making the front smaller. Okay, so you can see that can be used if you don't know exactly What size font you want to use the next one we have here? You can see it's clear formatting. So if I was to select the portion of text and click on it, it's going to remove the formatting from that tax for us. Okay, we have the standard. Then next we have bold italic and underline. I'm going to select just a couple of bits and pieces. A couple of words there in the sentence. Bold makes poll tax were on eight. Alec is gonna italicize the tax. You can see it's part of this land on it, and then underlying is gonna underline your tax for you Clicking on each of them Turned them on, taking on them again were turned them off for you. OK, do be sure that you don't use bold everyone. If I was to select all the text just gonna tear before mounting from all that text. I have selected a heart attacks and if they put it in bold, it doesn't really hide eight anything. It just looks as if all the tax is bigger. No. So whereas if you just highlight a portion of the texts or brown fox on click on it. You can see now it may extend words stand out more so when they using bold, italic and under lane do make sure that you're not just using it on everything and you're only using it to emphasize words, X to hear a next to at the bottom, you can see are two different options. So we have. If we have an option, C two nd is gonna automatically put it up for us. If we have a hitch to open for water, the camera assembled, we can select the number two and we can put it down at the bottom so you can see we have hitched to order. That's what that option does, or if we have to put my name on at the end of it. I'm just gonna put TM like that if I select it on. I used a hedge to you can see it puts the TM up at the top so they're subscript and superscript, and that's the way you would use them. So depending on what you want to do, whether it's up at the top or low, usually want, like if you're putting in the hard, it will automatically do it for you or the second and so on so you can see it. Automatic does that, but sometimes you may want to put things up like a copyright symbol. So if I do my own name and if you want to put a copyright symbol, the quick way to deal cooperated symbol is open the bracket C. Close the brackets, and it will do a copyright symbol for you. So it's bracket C bracket? No, if I select it, I can put the cooperate symbol about the top, and you can see it looks like you would usually see it on different documents. Next options we have that we don't We don't really use these options, but we use this phone corner. Okay, so the font color is we selected. There's an A here. It's red beneath it on when it's red beneath it. That means it's gonna put it the red, or we can take the dropped in our over the side of it until act from a number of different colors. Here, thes your standard colors thes air your team colors so we will look later on and having a design team and put in a design team, and these are the colors that we use. So each of the design teams in the team's action you can see have a number of colors here. So this is the one that we're using at the minute or blue aren't great. And if we go back to look at the colors that's available to us on the home tab and our college, you can see we have blue orange gray, so it gives you variations off them colors. On this color. Here is great ax entry. This corner here is great ax entry dark or 25% great ax entry later. 40%. So each one is just a different variation of the same color. So it changed the color you just like someone on selected on it will do it for you. These other options here this force one's character spacing. So if we have a tight line here, I'm just gonna probably name and as a titled, I'm gonna put a full capital letters. If I highlighted the character, spacing will alot Me too spierce the moat more so you can see that it gives you options. I can product maybe by can no we'll do it. A 10 aunt. What it's doing is it's just gonna about 10 spaces in between each ladder. Siegen. See it. Spaces that are better. OK, we could do it very tight. So it has the mall on top of each other. We can do taste Andi loose are very loose. Okay? Or as you see now, you can specify if I put in a different one here. I'm just gonna put in 20 just so you can see the actual difference of opinion. Seen others 20 bits of space in between each of them. Okay, The other option we have then here is change care. So you can see the way I have my name here in all capital letters. If I click on this option, I can put it the sentence kiss and you can see it's showing you what it is going to look like a capital letter to start on the rest Small letter. So if I click on us, you can see it has a capital out of the start. On the rest small letters. The next one is lower kiss is gonna be all lower case letters. Upper case will put it back to all uppercase letters. Capital ese twirled to put a capital letter to start of each word on Tuggle cares, inverted. So if it is uppercase, it'll go to lower case. And if it's lower case and go to upper case so that option can be used. If you type out everything by accident in upper case that you can automatically fix it by going to Sentence Kiss or in this case, we would cap relating toward for name. So that's all in this action, so we'll use them all right through the other sections off the court. But this will help us along. It'll get us all up to speed, so it is in the next actual.
24. 23 Adding notes: no. So the next thing you want to talk about is adding notes to your presentation. So when you're delivering your presentation, your audience is going to be looking at a screen more than likely a big screen up behind you. You're gonna be standing in front of them with a sheet in your hand. On on that sheet is going to be your notes. So we want to have a look and see where we would add them notes and then how we would print about them, too. So what we're gonna do is we're not gonna need any notes for the 1st 1 If you wanted to add them, you can put them. I'm gonna put them on this one. It would be good practice that put notes on every page. You wouldn't see letter on how the print out. So it will make more sense when you see the way they are printed out. So we go down here at the bottom where it says click to add notes. If you can't get enough room, don't be afraid. Click. You can see where the border line is there. Click it and you can drag it up as much as you want. And it'll make your middle areas morning on this one bigger? No, this section here, you can see the insertion point in there. We can start typing. You connive bullet points in here just like you would in a normal Microsoft word document I have copied on Pierce did a bit of tax deal that I have to say of typing out. These are your notes. I would advice spacing it out so that you're able to read it easier when you're you're doing it. Okay. So you can space that I would like that. A couple of sentences lines. You would know most of this stuff off by heart, but you want to be able to look down at your sheet quickly and quickly see the first line of text, and then you you would take over. Then your memory would take over. But for the time being, we're gonna do is we're gonna leave it that that one Slade, they'll we're not gonna added for each later only gonna do one. As an example, she would add the notes the Notre saved. Remember, your students don't see them notes. What your students see is this. OK, so we're gonna go clear from Corrine Slate. So that's what your students would see on the board. Okay, I'm gonna bring the tax, then just so it's there. So your students would see this on the screen or on the big screen, So memorize that. Visualize that what you're looking at. So that's what your students are gonna be looking at or your audience rather would be looking at. What you would see is this. So we're going to go to file up at the very top, and we're going to go down as far as print, and I'm gonna show you what the notes pay just would look like. So you can see here we have right the way through the options at the minute that Leo is printing Slade's. If you click down on Slade's and go down to notes, you see it's gonna show us. So I'm just gonna print on to pitch to is here so you can see Page two is there. I can't make that that screen bigger, but you can see the periods that's going to be printed out. Is it? Has your your document or your power points laid here with the tax on it, but it on till has these notes down here. So these notes are going to be printed out by you, and you can stand at the top of the class or the top of the audience at the top of the room , and you have these notes to read off or on a podium or wherever it is. You're the only one that sees thes notes. Okay, so that's the way that the notes are printed out, and it's the exact same way you just go into where your printers go into your layers on printed your own notes. You could also print out 100 for your students, and you can see the handout. It gives them tree pair pidge on a small note, area the deck and then take down their notes. So if you do mention something in your presentation, they can write a note stand. We will look at that whenever we're doing the printing section. But for the time being, that's what we we want to focus on. Okay, so that's doing notes that the main thing is, add the notes first of all, so each slide you would add the notes, the appropriate notes for it. We're not going to go through and add notes to each light, but you would go through Addie's notes in this one. For example, this one is a picture off a boat. You could say the following is a picture taken by or whatever. Two kisses and by Carlin marks on when the picture was taken, where it is something that tries no, both the area and then in your notes action. So remember the students would just see your man slide, but you have your notes on if we go to Number four was at this one here. You can see there is the small note added to the note's pitch so you could stand. Then you would actually have something to say about the picture then. So that's your note. So would see is in the next lecture where we start gonna add other things, too
25. 24 Printing: okay, and I printing options now, although this presentation is more than likely going to be delivered either on a big screen or maybe over the Internet, somewhere are showing something to somebody in May from time to time. One printouts. So there's a couple of different things you can print out. You can print out slides, so it's just a picture of what's on the slide There. You can also print out notes pages, which would include a picture of the slide and the notes you can print out and hand it. So what we'll do is we go in and have a look at the different options. So we want to go to our file option up with the very top, your off file menu, and we want to go down to print. Once we go to print, you can see. First of all, we have the printer here. I'm not connected to the printer at this time. I'm not in the WiFi network, so we have the printer that we have here so you can select from a number of different printers or add or remove printer. From there, it's default settings. Usually we leave it a default settings, the number of copies you want. So here you can see that it's printing out. Just slides. Okay, I'm gonna put the slide down here, so it's printing out, just laid, So it's a picture of just that slight. You can pick the page size or the paper cites if you want to print out all the slides, leaving on all you can select difference lights from 1 to 2 or 1 to 4 or whatever the case is, or you can select a couple of them lay out. We look out in the second orientation, you can do landscape or portrait. You can see you can put a landscape or portrait like that, so we have it at the minute on on portrait or non skip. The output is going to a color printer. It's gonna fit the pair part, and here we have the options here you can see so we can scroll through the different ones, or forward and back buttons on the forced on last button to we have here. Okay, so you can see that's print. Note the whole power point presentation, just as you would see it on the screen if you were delivering it to somebody. The other options we have. Then if you go into the layered options here Ivy Tech down it, we have hander to Nikkan Cedars handed to tree 46 and nine. So these are pair Pidge. So if I put two on for a second, you'll see it. So here you can see it hides Honda its action here on 100 so puts them into small. The one that I would use most is the tree. So tree, hundreds parapet And the reason I would do it just gonna go back to one of the other ones because that only has to the letters only it's like them when you have it on tree, it gives a small notes action at the sight of it on the notes section is there to enable your audience to write down notes about your presentation. So if they find something interesting about the slide taken part in here they're doing don't give you that option for you see, is just gonna put for the monitor on then six is just gonna put sex of them on the page on nine is just gonna put nine on the pitch so that the tree slides is the one that gives you the option for the other one with the small notes. Action on it. Then we have notes, which is your own present or notes. So in one of the and ER lectures, we added notes to slay, too. So if I take the slate to you'll see here, we now have the notes section. So these are represented notes. This is the pages to be printed out by all for de presento that they can stand up to the very top. They can see what the audience can see on the screen. Andi can read from their pitch. No one wants to look at somebody's back when they're giving a presentation to, you can see it there. Okay, on the other option. We have his outline, so the outline just lists all the tax that that's on your page would have any pictures or anything on a sorts. It just shows you exactly the tax it onto that cuddle to be used as a note section or being able to read out. It doesn't include them present inordinate. But if he just wanted to see that the tax for it. That's on your presentation. Okay, so that's the printings action. The last option and of course, of the bottom is the print button that will value the printed order slates. The only thing, really, you would be printed. Note. Our presenter notes for yourself when you're doing your presentation or Honda Pages. And I would always use the tree Slade's because it lows you to be able to give your students a copy of the presentation on bacon. Takes more notes on to do it. Okay, so we'll see is in the next election.
