About This Class

Car design, probably one of the most important areas of industrial design, arguably the most important aspect of an automobile. The looks are what count. Aston Martin, Jaguar, Porsche, BMW. What would their cars be without their iconic design?

My name is Kaiwen and I am an aspiring car designer and automotive engineer in the making.

You always wanted to learn how to sketch, draw, design cars professionally like all the great designers like Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker? If so then this is the right course to start with. You will be able to draw cars without erasing and without special tools.

This course was designed with the "Learn by Doing" pricinple in mind so just follow me along the design process.

If you want to learn further perspectives, please let me know!

Music among technology and automotive design, has always been a huge part of my life, ever since I started learning to play the piano at a very young age. Over the years I have developed a deep passion for this instrument and at some point decided to experiment with popular music.

I have been playing the piano for almost 19 years alltogether and arranging my own cover songs for almost 10 years now.

Having started out learning classical music I soon discovered that playing popular music can be more fun and is much quicker to learn by e... See full profile

1. Promo: Hi there. In this course, I will teach you how to draw cars just like this, Using just a pen and some paper. This is what it might look like if you use Marcus. So if you use the same principles on a scale like this, it would end up looking like this. So this actual sketch I did for the course, I wouldn't step by. Step through the process using just a pen. And I will teach you how to draw this exact car step by step. You'll have a lot of fun doing it If you're interested in college, if you love cars, If you always wanted to own like a hugely expensive car, you can't afford it. If you always wanted to become a car designer, this is the right course for you. So awesome thinks might happen. So, you know, you might end up dingus. You might end up was something similar, or you might end up with, like, a an Audi SUV. You might end up with something like a small electric city car, or maybe perhaps back or anything you want. There's no limits to drawing cars and its course. I will show you the basics and the techniques off Getting to this level without the hassle of finding it out yourself. There really isn't magic in it. Anyone can do this. And just one day you might be able to draw and Aston Martin like this and possibly sell it to huge company. And, you know, you might see this actual car on the road. Someday you just have to get started. So if you want to learn how to broadcast like this, this is the right course for you. Have fun. 2. 1.1 Introduction: welcome to the course. You have successfully joined my course and you're on your way to design your car using very simple tools. I'll tell you what you need in the next lesson. But just now let's talk a bit about how we're gonna do this. So, as I said, we will start with the side view perspective. So the side of the car and no. Three d stuff like this just this, which is the simplest way of starting, Because if you draw from the Saudi will kind of get a feeling for, um, what a car will look like drawing on the side and what you cannot cannot do. I advise you, Teoh, get a couple of pictures of cars to really like, you know, Google them on, get this side of you offered a site, shut off the car and, you know, just print it out and have a laying next to a table and use it as reference or just keep it open on your computer screen. That works, too. That way, you're gonna be able to, you know, have some real life examples to, you know, just died off and not make any Don't miss takes in the beginning, but we're here to avoid that anyways, right? So basically, we'll start off with some techniques off. What tools you need, how to use them, how to hold them correctly. And then we'll go into, you know, how are you supposed to draw the cars? You know, what should you start with, um, on You know what comes next? And things you can do things you can add, like little tricks to make your car pop to make the car. Look, three D, um, we'll get into that. And once you, you know, through the course, you'll be able to draw something like this like a side view using a pen or pencil. And, you know, it's all shaded. It'll shiny and awesome on even with some fancy reflections on the bottom or something like this. Every professional compass I know has learned that this way. I was taught at university here in Germany. Um, my car design professor, how to, you know, do this correctly, and then I just, you know, listen to his advice and you kept sketching every once in a while every day, almost on, you know, over the months over the days. Years I've got to this level. And I can now basically conclude that there are, like, certain easy steps which can follow to, like, make sure that your car will look good from the beginning, and I'll mess up. Right. So we will do this without any type off. Erasing you will only need a pattern. So and no erasing because some people start off, you know, they start off, and then they changed their mind and they steal like, mistakes they made, and they use an eraser to get rid of them. And, you know, we're not here to do that. Right? So that's for the introduction. I hope you got a good idea. Good. Overview off how we're gonna do this. And, um Yeah, I'll see you in the next lecture. 3. 1.2 Tools You Need: Hi there. Welcome to your first lecture. On how the drawer car like a pro. Let's talk about tools. What do you need to get started? How do What do you need to draw? Well, you don't need anything really anything special. So what you need is a pen or pencil. So any bull pines, you know, big pen will work, you know, the cheapest, usually the best. So just find, like a blue or black, like also works or get like a pencil, which you can't erase. I prefer black one and make sure it's sharp all the time. But But I don't recommend using this from the start because it's smears on. You know, you have to keep it sharp all the time. So let's get rid of that, Would you? Also need is a piece of paper. Just so you know, when you draw, sometimes you end up with, like, a sticky ball on top and you mess up your sketch. You know, when you go over, the boat's gonna smear all over your sketching. I want that. So every once in a while, when you notice oh, crap, I have this Ebola, my pen. Just wipe it off and keep going. All right, so let's go over this too. Um, you also need a piece of copy paper and preferably not just one piece More pieces, because it's gonna be uncomfortable when you draw. If it's just one piece on a hard table, right? So have, like, I don't know at least 65 or six piece of copy paper to to lay under right. Also, you want to make sure it's a flat and even surface. So don't draw this, like on a tree or anything that you know. Not even it's not. It's gonna show in your sketch. You don't want that. Um, maybe have some sticky notes to, you know, I will show you how they will help you sketch in a moment. There are various ways of using these, but they are very good and very useful for sketching in general. Right? That's pretty much all you need. So let's recap. You need a pen, piece of pieces off copy paper and some sticky notes and a piece of paper to wipe your pen off. All right, 4. 2.1 Ground & Wheels: lecture to when we actually start drawing. So you have your tools here, Everything you need and let's start. So what do you do? You start with first before we start. The way you hold your pen is important. So some people hold, like on the tip like this, and they write using their fingers and wrist and draw like this too. So you know, when they draw, it looks like this. Like little little, very careful strokes when they draw something, Don't do that. What you want to do is because this is going to end up making your color or wiggly and fizzy, right? You don't want that. Um, what you want to do is hold your pen like a little bit more here. So, like, on top a little bit. And then I use your arm and make long, quick strokes like this. So the way I want you to practice this is actually just starting off by drawing the horizon soul the floor on which the color is sitting. How do you do that? You take your pen like this, you go like 1/3 from the bottom of the page and just start randomly sketching out long, crisp, quick lines and start likely Don't go crazy on the pressure yet. Just, you know, So you can kind of get, like, a a even and straight line 1/3 up from the bottom of the page just like this. It doesn't have to be perfect. I mean, it's just a guideline, right? Right. Make sure it's straight. If it's like bent, your car will be bent, too. So you don't want that That's going to make the car look weird, right? Look, like spent in the middle. Okay, so, um, now we can actually start with the car. Some people do this differently, but usually people start with the wheels, because this way you have, like, a piece of reference. You know eso if you know what kind of car you're drawing. Like if it's a city car, small car, it's gonna have a smaller wheelbase. And it was a long stretch limo. It's gonna have a really long wheelbase, right. So make sure you know what kind of car you want to draw from the beginning. Let's let's pretend we want to draw something like this like a sit down. So I just started you know, doing sickle? Likely. So you know, it kind of resembles a circle. Death note. Perfect. Circle on. Go to the real answer all of your circle. Make sure they like roughly the same size And also, you know, roughly on the same plane, the same height. Something like this. It looks rough now, but, you know, in the end, well, we can corrected by, um, applying more pressure. Teoh sketch. This is quite round, right? So now your proportions are basically set. So if you know you the type of car you wanna draw and you're this fire, you're almost you know, you're pretty safe already. Because I'm gonna be You're not going to mess up the wheelbase anyways. So how do you adjust the distance between these two wheels? Well, let us say off rule of thumb. It's kind of like three wheels in between between two and three. Wheels in between The wheels is the right way to start. All right, 5. 2.2 Outline & DLO (Window Surround): either. Let's continue. Um, now it gets interesting, because now we will actually start to add some design elements to the car. Um, the next step is actually deciding, you know, how low is the car and stuff like that? So how do you determine this? There are two ways you can either start with, like, a character line and character, like something like this that helps you set the car. Or you can start with the windows around this area here, which we call the Diello that they're not opening. All right, so just for beginners, I would recommend starting with D L O. Okay, let's presume we want to do a sedan just like this. We're wheel drive, um on. And eso the window is going to start somewhere around here. That's marked the point. If you don't know how to do this, then just look up a car, what you like and follow. And once you do a couple, of course, you you'll get the feeling of how how this to look and just, you know, draw the window outline using the same technique as before light quick strokes. Well, this is a very sport, he said. looks a little bit like a test or something. Yeah, something like this. Okay. And basically, now, you you already know what your car sort of gonna look like. But you can, you know, still at this point, decide on you know, some details if you want to change them or something. Right. But your card is basically you done as in the wheelbase and this. So just by drawing a line, two circles and like, a kind of trap is a little thing on top, you already have achieved a lot. So if you're if you failed at this point, your entire car will fail. Right? So these are basically the most important things about the car. So what we're gonna do next is basically just the outline. So they are time will be like, you know, closing it off on. Let's just do this. You basically just follow your wheels and your window, right? Does actually units part. Andi, don't worry about position. Position, right. So if you're lying, it's way too long. It doesn't matter. You just cut it off. You can just cut it off right here. That's not a problem whatsoever. Actually, by doing this So by drawing way too long, you will be able to make your car look like more dynamic. Your sketch is gonna be like there's gonna be motion in this sketch instead of it being wiggly type off cramps sketch. You don't want that? Okay, that's finished the friends. So this is a much sport here car that no one I did not talk, as you can probably see. Oh, it's really pretty, actually. And you can just once you have the basic outline, sort of, you know, rough on. Then you can refine the lines a bit to make the car look you more defined. So the lines are crisper. Just do it afterwards, it'll explode or something. All right, cool. So how everything is basically done, You just have to add some details shading, and that's it. 6. 2.3 Adding Design Elements & Surface Basics: now the actual, you know, designing starts because now this could be anything right, you know? Okay, the shape determined that it's like a real drive sporty sedan, but it still could be anything. So now it's a good time to add some design elements. So let's look at the top one. Let's look at, like a character line, right? So character lines, basically a bend in the metal that, you know, place with a life. So something like this, you know, that's like a character line. Um, that's draw one. Just like you wanna talk. Maybe a little bit different. Same technique. It's before long strokes on, and you can make some practice strokes. So, you know, practice a couple of times without actually touching the paper, and then go ahead and draw us. So this is one like shoulder line. I call this because shoulder height and, um, maybe a lower one that goes right through the back. You can see that is very rough at this moment, but we'll find out later, so it looks like this. Okay, so now let's look at some theory of light because there's gonna be really important when you're shade. Imagine This is the side off the car, right? A piece of metal. And that's like a bend in the metal. This band is going to affect the way the light works. So if your car has, like, a bend like this, imagine like it's gonna get looks like this, right? So that Ben just kind of on this line, then if the light comes from the top, let's flip this. Let's abandon the light comes this way. Then this part is gonna be brighter. And this part is gonna be darker, right? And for this car, we will actually do something like here. Well, that's like a a double kink in the car was gonna be like this. So it looks like it's like this, right? It's basically light because the light comes from here. Then the light cannot go to this area. It's gonna be dark and then light again, a little bit darker than here. So let's apply this to this car. What? Since our Casper you will drive, Let's give it a little swoosh over the really Artis like this, just like the one of on Let's do the same thing for the bottom one. About one like the example. One I just saw like this. As you can see, it looks really messy, but, you know, we're gonna sell in a minute for the lower one. It's actually the exact opposite. So if you imagine we have, we also have, like, a surface like this. This is the top one. The lower one is the other way around. Just for practice reasons, this helps, but because the lower one is upside down means that the light actually is going to catch on this instead off not catching it look like this. So instead, off the light missing this part, it's gonna actually catch this part. So this part is gonna be bright, dark, dark. So we're actually gonna leave this bright just like the one on top? Yeah. All right. Let's add some further design elements. Like a little things. Lights. Oh, maybe something like this on another light. What I really like is tying in the the entire car, so it's all, you know, consistent. So if you look at this sketch right now, you can see that the light about the lights kind of leads into the solar line and the lower part of this. A shoreline kind of leads into the real light. So that's what makes a great car right. It's consistent. Same thing with the low character line, so ties in the car nicely. Also, don't go crazy on the design. So you know, don't add like crazy spoilers. Hold events and decals anything like that. You know, that's not how design works. You can do this later if you're really bored or something. But if you look at beautiful cars, timeless cost, like Jags Aston Martins portion on 11 they're all very simple. Have one or two or three max like character lines on the site, and that's it. Everything else in the shape of the car, all right. 7. 2.4 Door Shutlines: Okay, let's continue. Um, with some door shut lines. Those will actually help you make the car pop out. Because so far, it's like a two d kind of thing. It doesn't look three d at all. Right, So door shut lines are gonna help before we do that. Let's just refine our window opening a little bit. So it's clearer. And now it's a little bit, you know, lost. Because everything else is still dark. You can see that you can You can actually correct sketch using a pen without an eraser. You just have to start likely. And this is the way of forcing you to, you know, do it right the first time. Two good exercise. Okay, so now it's clear. Let's do the windows up. Lines their conventions for this. Right. Um, I'll show you one convention force the dads, so start in the middle. This is where the front door separated from the rear door and just go like this. Notice how the slope line is not completely straight. It's actually a tilted a little bit like this. That's so it follows the You know, the motion off the car could do the other way It's going really weird, right? It's like it. Braun. Um Okay, Now let's continue with the shot line here. So this is where the front door starts. This is also interesting, because let's look at this again. Remember how we have this little bending the metal here and this Ben is going to affect how the door shut line works. Okay, so if the door shop line, if there's no bending the metal at all, it's gonna be straight. But it's not because there's, like, a bend here. So that means if you look at it from the side like this, right, if you look at it directly, this this line here is gonna be straight. But because off perspective on the cost wider than your eyes, right. So your eyes are here, and this eye is going to ably able to see this part like this. A light from this part of the car is gonna go, like, slightly skew, so it's not directly until all of the eye it's gonna be a slightly like this. So this eyes actually going to see this panel here like this and do you see how this line goes? This one same thing with door shut lights. Let's do this here. You can see that kind of bends inside, right? And then it's kind of straight again. And here it bends to the outside. Same thing in the back, just the other way around. And then the middle. It's just in this. The one for the middle is usually, you know, following the one here because it's not always exactly in the middle. Okay, my car looks kind of three d already. That's really good, right? Um, yeah, that's just refined some lines. Since we're here, we know how the car looks. We know kind of what the third dimension looks like. So let's, uh, make the bottom dog. This is a line wait exercise. So line way. That's basically how hard to press down on on your panel pencil. And it's really important because some areas off the car are facing the floor like the floor, obviously, and some are facing the sky or sun and they're going abroad. Okay, so let's do this. The floor is always gonna be dark. That's what finds of lines make it clearer. Maybe add like a little thing in the front like event. I don't know something like this. So basically no Al Qaeda's done. We just have to add some reflections and we'll cover this in the next lesson. 8. 2.5 Basic Reflections: OK? No, let's make the car look awesome. Let's look at some reflections. I actually have a bowl of crap on my pencil. We're gonna get rid of this first, Okay? Reflections. I want you to imagine a mirror, right? This is supposed to be a mirror, and, um, the horizon is in the background. It's basically a mirror standing, like in a desert or something. You have the sun here on death, like a street here. I'm really bad at this. Sorry. Okay, this mirror is going to reflect the horizon line like the horrors line in this direction, right? It's gonna be reflected. And if there's like a tree here, it's going to be reflected in the mirror, too. Right? And the thing is, I want you to imagine this side on the car as a mirror to, you know, it's shiny sheet metal, and obviously the floor is gonna be darker than the sky because, you know, that's lived by the sun, right? So everything here, it's gonna be darker, and it's the same for the reflection. So this area here, it's gonna be darker because it's the floor. So I want you to apply this to the car. The thing with the car is it's not straight right. It's going to bend what's being reflected. And for now, I just want you to forget the tree. Just look at the horizon line. Okay, here it straight. Also the Mary Street. But what if the mirror is, like, curved like this, like this, That's gonna look different. Basically, it's gonna look something like this line here. So let's do this. How do we and how we start with this? Just kind of here at this height, Draw a straight line right on the front to the rear wheel. Make sure it's straight tonight. It doesn't follow any off the body lines. It's just a straight line. And then you know what's with the car? Back to the front, Just a straight line. This is our basic horizon line. If it were flat, if the car was flat, then it will be like stay like this. But we want to have a car with that awesome stands right where the wheels pop out like this . So the light is going to actually bend the horizon line kind of in this way, just like on this sketch. So that's at this. It also passed out a little bit harder. Same in the front. This is what the rising will look like on the car. If it has, we are just put out. Make sure the middle part of straight um this will rise line will also be reflected in the window off the car. Since it's also surface right by, the window is flat. So it's gonna be straight just like this and basically everything below the horizon. And it's gonna be dark, as you can see here, all right. 9. 2.6 Shading: Okay, so now that would have a car. That's kind of looking cool. Already. We want to add a little bit of kick to it by adding some shading. Right. So we have the reflections done. This is just the simplest reflection. You can go fancy if you want to. And, you know, but just imagine that this lioce kind of skyline of a city, or like, um, the sea and the car sitting on a beach or something like this is gonna be license flat if their buildings in and it's gonna be harder, right? You cannot really do this off the top of your head. Um, just stick with this, okay? How are you supposed to state? Basically, you might have seen this in the previous video already. So if you have, like, an area like a mirror or something and this is the horizon, everything is dark below it. You're supposed Teoh not do this type of stating, but do this instead. But very closely. So it's gonna look something like this, right? But better on the car. So I do this everything below the horizon. We just did. It's gonna be dark. Except for the surfaces which are facing up. You have to remember this just like here. Right? Okay, let's do this nice and quick. Living out this area. Don't those exact just go straight lines If you do six act and it's gonna be really weird at the part where you do it exactly right. And then this enemy also is gonna face the floor. It's gonna be dark and depending on how hard you press down and how many you know, strokes you make, you can make it darker or lighter. Don't worry if it's not perfect, it's not supposed to be Sam in the rear and in the front. Also, the one of the windows is also going to be docking test of this actually for the window make it really dark. So this we have we have, like a very reflective window, very signing window. You can see that left me recourse at the moment. So, like, they're very dark areas have very large areas, and it's like with Cruz e a little fizzy here because you just dip strokes, right? So let's fix this Also before we do this, remember that you have surfaces on the cars to remember this one was based up and it's going to stay bright. This morning was facing down and it's done. It's gonna be dark. So let's also shape this. All in all, if you do these steps and you know how to do them, you will be able to just roughly sketch out a car in a couple of minutes, Right? Okay. Looks really frizzy. Now, let's refine it by adding some line. Wait. Okay. So, usually the top off the horizon that's making really dark, nice and crisp like this. Same here. This is also the horizon line right in their sheet metal. Make it nice and crispy. And duck. Same here. Also surfaces make them dark. So where were, like a dark surface starts? If you go from top to bottom up a car, you can see. But here a dark supper starts that make this top also dark, nice and crispy. And I can see by doing this you can actually get enough. The craziness. The course must be delegated with the shading. Do this off of the straightening. Don't do it before. Let's find this little okay. And the lower part of this because this is where dog service starts, right? Same here. Maybe add something here. Why not? Okay, cool. Let's move onto the next one 10. 2.7 Advanced Shading, Tips & Tricks & Wheeldetail: Hey, welcome to the next lectures, and now that your car is almost done, you can see that the wheels are still missing. And you know, that's a little bit of difference between this and this. So let's show some tricks first, what you can do. OK, A car has pillows and I stopped with pillars. First, this is known as the A pillar. This is known as the B pillar. That's no have to see pillar, right? And because the be pillars actually in the middle off your windows it's going to, um, to also be affected by the horizon reflection. Okay, so usually this bar in the middle is gonna be black. So what we're gonna do is what we did here and just color the lower part very dark. Here. You can do whatever you want since is very dark and goes exact. You can go across. It doesn't matter. Ondas that a little bit of detail here too. And also make this don't It's like also little small pillar announced on the front. You know whether Maris, it's we don't have a memory but you it helps with the sketch. You can see that now it looks, the window looks almost real, right? Okay. What else can you do to make the window look for you? So let's just help I find it a bit, um, the top off the deal. Oh, make it really dark. Why? Because the window was a little bit recessed in the body off the car. You know, if this is the body of the car, the window is not on top. Actually. Gonna be little recessed. There's this. Why the top? It's gonna be dark because the light can reach that area. So let's just make this very talk on because it's processed. You might want to, you know, to stick your pen likely and just follow along with the top a little bit, just like this. So it looks like, um, kind of clouds in this car. You know, you got to look with doctor like this, just like I did Not here. And you can see that the windows now look like the real deal. Okay, maybe now is a good time to do some wheels for the wheels. You have to consider the perspective of as well. If you do flat wheels, then just go ahead and do wheels because the center off the wheels gonna be in the center here and here. But if you want dissed wheels or if you want, like, classic car will that go out, then there's gonna be a difference. So always start with the center off the wheels if you want to do a disk wheels. Actually, I'm gonna use my sticky notes again for help. I imagine this is the wheel, and it's gonna be deep. So it's going to something like this. Okay. Which means if the wheels like this, the center off the wheel is gonna move slightly to this area. Cook Here, look here. This is where it would be if it was flat, but if the wheel was deep, it's gonna move in this direction. Imagine the center of the wheel here because Europe Yeah, your eyes. Right. If these are your eyes, then the left eye will be able to see the wheel like this or the light from the wheel comes like this, right? If the well is dished, then the center off the wheel is gonna move inwards for this. Because this I cannot see this dish area off the wheel. But it can see this side off the best area. So let's do some dished wheels because they look awesome and just put the center off the wheel slightly to the left for the year and the opposite for front wheel. It's gonna be slightly to the right just like this. Okay, now we have to stand off the wheels. We can add a little bit of wheel like spokes, so let's do exactly the same thing we have here. Um, how you should you do this? It's very simple. Just, uh, look at the exact middle off the wheel here and not the wheel center exact middle here and make sure the spokes point towards the middle. Okay, so let's do this and just, you know, do justice to some simple by a five spoke wheel. Here's some in the front. You can refine it later. You can add some crazy wheels, I later, but just for now, let's just do this all right. You can also, you know, adjuster line all the way along the sketch. If you notice crept my windows and too dark, it's document and the actual floor off the car, then UK correct. It's just by doing this. Awesome. Maybe add some details. Same in the front. Maybe Just do this. We have a whole here. Maybe you want to call it the whole in, Make a nice dog. Okay, let's move to the next lesson. 11. 2.8 Final Touches: Yes. Now do some final touches on our car is almost done. OK, Remember how we had this discussion about perspective and that, you know, your left eye sees a little more off this side, and you're right. I see a little more off this side. You will actually be able to see the wheels off a car on the other side off the cut because of this. Right? So imagine this is these are your highest up here. This your left eye. Then you're left. I will be able to see the real on the other side because the light from that will can travel to your left eye. And the way you at this is by doing what I did here. Just a little bit of black here, right? Is this. And if you move the distance, if you move over here and it's gonna have really, really wide real wheels, so don't go crazy on it. Just like this. And color that really nice and black and make sure they go into the bottom off the car so it looks like it's one piece. You can see that this already makes your car look really good. Okay, Let's imagine. Ah, well, still look a little bit weird, right? So let's imagine we did the same, I think as we did here on DWI. You expect this car out with chrome wheels, chrome dished wheels apply the same theory as with the body of your car. So at the horizon line, this way, you know, you're well, they're gonna have a little bit off. Yeah, I was saying to them So come up like this because the well done dished deep wheels, Then the horizon will be bent in this way, right? If the wheel was outward, so that looks at the outward. Well, for example, let's take another piece of paper. So if you have a car like this and this is a really well, then your wheel, if it comes out like this, you know something like this, right? But we'll center points out, then the wheel. It's going to reflect the light like this instead off here, where's the other way around? Okay. And now you have to consider which area off the wheel is facing the floor on which is actually facing this up. You know, the light comes from there and here because the wheels dished, It goes in. Actually, this area here is going to reflect the floor, Not this area. Okay, so that's color. This same way we did before. Just like this. Looks good, doesn't it? And maybe, you know, help with the definition a little bit, Mike yellow with dark hair. Make it cover around like this and, uh, maybe do the spokes doctor to because everything else is so dark. You want to adjust this so it looks a consistent. Right? Okay, awesome. Okay, let's continue. Um, you might notice that this car doesn't have tires, but the wheel studio withdraw. You've you've drawn in the beginning, right? At the beginning of the sketch, I kind of like your tires. Right? And designers don't do them usually because they're hassled. You don't need them to, you know, put a car on the paper. I'm gonna be the paper. You can just do a little bit suggestive, tired, just like I did to you. Basically, Just go around the wheel a couple of times more. Make a doctor. Right. Let's do this. So the car kind of has entire. Now, it's not just completely, really same in the back just follow your your circle. It's gonna be way easier than in the beginning and make it look with darker. And if you're feeling cool, make them darker in the on the bottom and a little bit like it on the top because you know the tire is also affected by light. It's like this and tired in with the wheels on the other side. Just not this and also this side. You want tied in with the body just like this. All right, really cool. You almost done. Let's play a little more in the next lesson. 12. 2.9 Personal Touches & Some Advice: since your cost almost done. What can you do now? It kind of kind of floating in the air right now, right? So I want you to just add a shadow to the car. Basically, you're just line that goes right to the bottom off the two wheels. This lie here. Okay, let's just do this. My foot straight again doesn't have to be perfect. It's actually better if it's not perfect. So you can make it a little bit more. You know, it looks a little bit on national. Everything was perfect and what too much would look like a computer game. You don't want that. So this the shut off the car and make sure of wraps around the car. You can see how the real two wheels kind of end here. So doll like here, between a mutual reel to reels which you can't really see and just, you know, rapid around like this, you can color this area in, but I don't do that. It's too much of a hassle for nothing. And, uh, now you can also, you know, just keep fiddling with the sketch. Refining some lines, I noticed how the home is a little bit light just here, so just make it darker. There were two. Yeah, looks very good. Also, this is a little bit badly to find. Okay? Okay. And now you can really start to play with the sketch, for example. You can add some exhaust, right? There's, like, some kind of diffuser on. We haven't exhaust here. Crume ex lost today looks awesome. Okay? And maybe just go over this area of the car. It is facing upwards, but, you know, just going over it with your pen. It's gonna look a little bit more realistic. I noticed also how this area is very frizzy, so I'll make Christmas. There we go. Okay. For the final touch, you can add some reflections for this purpose. Get out. You will immediately see some mistakes if you have done some. This also helps love for, you know, getting rid of mistakes. You can see that I'm correcting the wheels not quite round and just do some reflections. It's very easy. Just, you know, do some wheels just a little bit. Don't go crazy on it. Maybe at some wheel detail, just, you know, very likely. So it kind of suggests that There's something on, maybe the opposite way off the wheels like this. Get us. I don't the wheels pardon And maybe at the counter line to just, you know, a little bit like this. And it wraps around like this. I'm just just by doing a little bit off adjusting your car now looks like it's standing on a shiny floor. Really good, right? You can also make the wheels a little more realistic fighting nuts, and you can at this point you can even add like fancy wheels. Tow the car if you want to. It's really not that difficult because you can, you know, always go darker, almost never black and the black parents are always gonna be black. So there's no worries about that about correcting this. Okay, finally, at a signature state and that is it. You just drew your own car using this method, and it looks really good. I hope it doesn't look really good. Um, they are then off course, different things you can add, you know, depending on the car. If you have really white offenders to kind of like a little highlight years, let's we can do that here. Why not right there we go, little thing. And, um yeah, congrats on finishing the course. Please let me know if you think any additional information is needed or if you want some more exercises. If you want to know something more in depth if you want to learn how to join three D or if you want to learn how to draw with Marcus, the thing was, once, once you know how to draw a side car on the side, you can then go ahead and try three D on your own. It's gonna be easier than starting it life in the beginning. If you cannot do this properly, so make sure you can do this properly. Then go to the three D sketch. It's gonna be much easier. Also, some tips off advice for correcting errors because sometimes you cannot see the problems your sketch has. What you do is take this, gets flipped around and hold it against some light, you know, so you can see it from the other side, and then every mistake will come into place immediately. You can immediately see alright, this wheel's not quite around. This is not quite right, so you can then go ahead and actually correct it here after beauty of a pen that forces you to not using Eraser. But it also teaches you how to do it right from the first from the first time. So if you think this course was helpful, please leave a good rating on. If you think it was not so good, then please let me know why. And don't give it a bad writing because I will actually update this course and because it's a huge hobby of mine. I want to become a car designer. I'm currently studying engineering, but, you know, I want to move and expand my knowledge and become a car designer. Yeah, Thank you for choosing this course, and maybe we'll see each other in the next lesson.
