1. Introduction about the Class: Hello everyone, this is Fatima for myself that I have done few exhibitions in Malaysia, both solo and group exhibitions. Before this pandemic, I have done a lot of on plane 1 shops now doing online workshops for him, this class, I'm going to share some of the DIP centric subvert. How do you use a photograph? Assertive friends. And how to blog the background for this guy, the mountane, the trees and water. How to add reflection of the trees in water, everything step-by-step in detail. And also how to blog the background for water and water and the colors we can choose for water, everything in detail. And also how to choose the colors to block the bathroom for the tree trunk and the rocks, everything step-by-step. Once we completed blocking the background, we go now learn to paint the clouds, how to add details to the mountains. How to give us no effect on top of the mountain. How to add the DEJ to the trees, everything one by one. And also how to add waves using a Tanium wide. And what British will be perfect for doing particular stroke. And also some of the details to add on the tree trunk, everything on my own. So let's start doing our painting. I'm really excited.
2. Materials Required : Hello everyone, Welcome back. In this video, I'm gonna show you all the materials required. Firstly, I'm going to paint this painting with a clearly median. So this is a staggered back. It has like 12 colors. You don't need all the colors. The next thing is the surface, which we're going to be done. It's Canvas A3 size. And this is from Asia to 80 gram. And these are the brushes I'm going to use to do this painting. It's a one-inch flat brush. You don't have one inch flat brush, then you can use three-quarter inch flat brush or a half-inch flat relish. Possible tried to have a world of flat brush to add the sugar to our MT Danes and the trees acquired the Ange flat fish that you can find two round brushes to add the fine, the dice, lakes things and ranges, everything. So these are all the ratios we're going to use to paint our painting. Finite project. If you don't have all the brushes, It's okay. You can just use any flat dish with a medium size and a fine brush like anything from round of planters to add detail. If you tried to mix colors, you can use palette knife and water to clean our brush. And if needed, we can tell us a bit of water and paper towel to remove the excess water from our brush. As for use very less amount of water when we use acrylic medium. If you use too much water with a tragic incident period of time, you are talk may end up treating some cracks and finally a pilot to load of paint. You can use anything as he a pilot and a pencil to make some rough sketches on a world Canvas to get the idea about our composition. With the help of the knife, I'm going to assume all the plastic frog, my paint. Don't worry if you don't have all the colors, all we need is the primary colors like yellow, blue, and red. Here. You can use crimson, red, and Fourier low. You can use land a low. And for blue you can use dilute blue or ultramarine blue and a teeny white. Mice, black. And the last galleries burnt umber and ILO or occur. So these are the colors we need them most. Even if you don't have black, you can mix all the three primary colors to create the black darker shade. So these are all the main colors we need to complete a painting. Let's remove the plastic wrap from Model Canvas so that we can paint on that. Be careful when we use a knife. I accidently you mean damage their Canvas. So be careful. Now let's see how do you
3. How to use a Photograph as a Reference : Now let's see how to use that wooden sticks behind the canvas. Actually the main purpose of this wooden stick is tighten the Canvas after a few days or few months. You can with me loser map. So in that case you can insert those who didn't take. So this is the full deliverance of painting. This is how we're going to compose artwork. You can add those grid lines to make it easier to follow your reference. So with the head of the pencil, you can divide your canvas into three rows by three columns. It doesn't need to be exactly occurred. It just mark the points that if he the gridlines will be. The next thing we need to do is legit elements in a world for daily France, for example, in how building I'm in, in our photograph reference. That is this guy, which is the first thing behind it. And in that way there are few clouds. And after that we have a mountane over the IV and the road. Few trees over there. And next to that of a water level, what a line starting from there. In water we have the reflection of those trees and clouds, everything. And in the foreground we have a tree trunk. And also in say the word do we have a log and few rocks are there. So these are all the elements in a wall painting, and that is a few branches and a few leaves are there. So the next thing we have to do is this shape. So this is how you have to observe things. I'm a little difference. You might not see my defense clearly, but whatever difference here using this is the methyl. And the next thing you have to observe is that colors. So order all the colors are there in this guy. What are all the colors you can see from the clouds and also for the mandates, the trees, and from the water. Actually water doesn't have any exact color. All it has the reflection of the things which is a downloaded. So we can use the same colors which we use for the elements at around water and also for the tree trunk and the rocks, you have to observe that colors. Let's do the left sketch from the reference. So this is the whole reason why the blaze a retries and water level needs. So let's start from the air and I'm going to divide my canvas into two. Let's add the elements one by one with the basic shape. So I'm adding the mountane. I'm using my pencil to do the sketch as acrylic is a big weekend. Always block. I mean, always hide the pencil marks, so don't worry, you can freely do this sketch. So let's do the mountains. I mean, this cage of mundane. There are two Domo Danes over there. One in the middle and ended the when and the right side, That's like half mountane. And next to that, this is the range of trees. So I'm going to do the outlines cage of the trees. A friend talk to coming to the center in the middle. And I'm going to connect it to the end. And just relax and paint next to those trees. We have the water stream, I mean the water. And after that, in the foreground, we have the tree trunk and huge rocks. Let's do a sketch off them. And in the foreground we have a draw. So let's draw that. And that is log inside the water, which is like for fielding. So let's draw the sketch of that. And also a huge rocks. So let's catch that OID. So V completed as gauge. Let's pick up the colors using the four data sheets. So what are the colors we gonna use? By painting? I will tell you if it took me in detail once again and noise or likely tell you. So for this guy, we need to become a blue sheet. So far this then you can choose the settlement blue hue is we don't have that. You can use any blue shade you have. And that all other colors too in the sky we have the hint of red and orange. So we have the hidden tofu why leg? So if you don't have violet, you can mix any two colors like not any doulas. Or you can mix cobalt, blue, and crimson to get the bridle violet. For the mind. It isn't the same tool. We can use violet shade. Along with that, we can use a teeny for the trees. We can use the machine blue hue and medium me know. If you don't have Prussian blue hue, you can use that little blue. The blue which we're gonna use to give the shadow effect. And also to give the depth. Then you mix yellow with the Prussian blue here you will get midtone of green to give extra I laid, we can add mood a loo. And to give the depth, you can add more fishing blue hue. And also you can use a low or couldn't read V01. You wonder doesn't have any assembly colors. So we can use the colors retrieved when I use for the things which are around water. For the foreground, the root and the rocks. We can use Mars Black, voluntary and a low or mice black to give the depth born Turnbull as the mid-tone, a little off kilter, give highlight and also became a team in white to give a highlight. And also the for the tree branches which are in the top. So you can use any green shade, all the same color combination like Prussian blue hue and medium and low. And for the stems you can use the same color which we are going to use for the logs and the root of the tree. So these are all the colors we're gonna use for this painting.
4. How to avoid the Mistake and Block the Sky: So the first thing, how to wash your brush. Whenever you are using a flat brush, you have two boys Shift dash by going back and forth. So just like the way I'm gonna do right now, just do the flags kind of thing. I am going back controls. Once you why she'd just clean the water and dab it on a paper towel or a cloth toes, the more the excess water from the bristles. Let's say there were painting. First thing you need to do is block the background. Instead of picking the background, if you faint that a key like adding details in the first layer, it will become like a kind of mess, just like the V I'm doing right now. Is it wrong thing? First thing you have to do is block the bad drawn with the correct color. After that, you can add the days little by little. Let's do it, show up early. So firstly, I'm going to block the background for this guy with the cobalt blue, as it has a hint of red in it. Like a told you, exilic is opaque so we can always a leader on top of that. Up to the half of this guy. I loved the bedroom with cobalt blue. Now, I'm going to use crimson and say Tanium white for the other half of this guy. And I'm using my one-inch flat British to blog a background. So you can directly squeeze paint on the canvas. If you're not sure, sure about the colors, you can squeeze faint on violet and then pick up colors using a branch and then you can use it. So the first half of this guy with cobalt blue and again half of this guy you wait, crimson and titanium white. Jess, blog the bad grown completely and blend with the blue between applied. Just be hold. We will get the hues like a violet, bluish, white, and lighter shade of white. I mean, lighter shade of blue and Lady shade of red. You're painting doesn't need to be exactly same as here reference. So dawn's early, if you're painting, doesn't look exactly like this. Rinse, just play with the colors. And now blend this guy until it gets satisfied. Or if you feel like you added more white, then you can use blue again and you can blend it from top to bottom. Let's enjoy the progress. Have fun. Let your paint brush dance. Let this guy dry. Actually, I'm using the bank which step inside my fame race.
5. Blocking Bg of the Mountain and the Trees: I'm going to lock the background of that mountain. He is saying, Mars Black or burnt umber. You can use a nice Muybridge. You have to pick up the colors and draw the outline of a montane. And then block the band round. Let's block the backdrop for another mountain and the trees. Using Prussian blue hue. You can directly pour your paint on the canvas itself, or you can put your paint of the ballot and then you can pick up the colors and spread it on your canvas. To make this gauge with some ups and downs in sort of giving the flight straw. And also you can dab it to get the texture. I mean W brush to get the texture for the leaves. While you blocked the background, make sure that you didn't leave any white spots on the canvas.
6. Blocking the Background of Water: So the callosum I use are the same colors which we use for this guy. Like a told you, water doesn't have any special color. The color of the water depends on the color of the things we shot at around it. So I'm using current Xin. Along with that, I took a bit of day Tanium wide and I'm doing the horizontal stroke. Just play with the colors until you get satisfied. Dr. Pain, rash, dance in the flu. It's okay if you spread that Prussian blue. Also to block the background. Enemies we go now and the trees, the reflection of the trees over there. And also you can get rid of titanium white and spread the color. So now here we have the reflection of the trees. So we can block the band groan of V3 reflection using same blue, blue hue. And the strokes we're gonna do are like vertical. As the trees are taller, the reflection will be vertical. So if we add the strokes in a vertical manner, it will give us the reflection will physically. So first draw a horizontal line and pull that colors downwards, like doing vertical strokes. It doesn't need to be all in the same size. It will be perfect if you add it with some long and shot vertical strokes. Just the easiest true. We just want the colors towards you. Just the free stroke. The same way. Let's add the reflection for the mountane or were there over the right side. Just pull the stroke towards you. A kind of vertical stroke. Now let's block the remaining portion of the water with the color of the sky. The Malevich be used for this guy is Coval to blue. So I'm gonna use the same color. Along with that, I'm gonna use crimson. This is also the color which we use for this guy. To a blend mode, the colors smoothly. I'm going to use titanium white. As I have the largest space. I'm gonna use my one-inch flat brush to block the background, the ECB, and evenly spread the pains horizontally. It's okay if your paint covered the base sketch of the longs and the rocks, we can paint on top of the layer. Tried to get this smooth transition between the colors from blue to red. We don't need any hard edge. So blend the colors smoothly. If you need more white than you can, add more white and blend the colors smoothly. And on top of that, you can again pull the Prussian blue hill like a vertical stroke. You don't need to wash brash. You can simply use the same brash. Now, I'm going to add a few more drops off crimson and titanium white. Just play with the colors and diluted, satisfied and old. So until you blogged the background without having any white spots. And again, do the horizontal stroke and blend the colors smoothly. I felt like blue and red doesn't have the smooth transition. So I'm going to add blue and again, a drop of flight. And I'm going to blend that color from bottom to top. Our artwork will become more interesting.
7. Blocking the Bg of Tree trunk and the Rock: Our R2 will become more interesting when we add more layers. Let's lock the background for the tree trunk and also the rocks. So firstly, I'm going to use Mars Black and burn, tumble. Keep burnt umber as the middle tone. Black as the shadow portion, which shows the depth and a law as the highlighted area. But the plays this unlined hurts. I'm going to use my flat brush. This is like half inch. So why shale brash and more the excess water from the crystals by dabbing it on a paper towel OF cloth and block the background using burnt umber and mass black. Just play with the colors. Long-term band ground completely without leaving Amy white spots. I'm going to add a few more drops of black von tumble and a lot of courage. To block the background for the trunk. We have to add more black to that. We need to give the depth and also to give the shadow effect. And for the highlighted portion we can add a Lew on. But first thing we need to do is blocking the background later on, we can little by little and detail to give the realistic 3D effect. So just relax and paint. Now let's block the background for the drug, which is in the foreground. So the same colors I'm gonna use, the same black burn tumble and a yellow ocher to add the shadow, the depth, I'm going to use mass black to give them middle value. I'm going to use burnt umber and to give the highlighted effect, I'm going to use yellow ocher. So first thing we need to do is plug the background. Later on we can add DDIs little by little. Just like now, I'm adding a low or could do show the light is hitting over day. After blocking the background for the rocks. Let's paint the clouds.
8. Adding details to the Clouds : After locking the background for the rocks, Let's paint the clouds. I'm gonna use my smile size around range to add the clouds, thunder clouds. I'm going to mix a little detour of settlement blue hue along with more wide. This mix, the color, all we need is the light shade of blue in the white. So just mix the color. And after that, I'm going to paint the clouds. No. Identity bit of crimson, very little Dutch, the good. The book will shade in the clouds or Shoebridge completely and use the dry brush that's a bit of that color which we mixed now. And a rigidity of Blair. There we go now. And the clouds give minimum place shell. After adding the curves in the clouds, just spread the white. I mean spread the paint. At the bottom. Add a few more clouds. Variable you want do this lake, they overlap each other. You can add any number of Cloud sleep. Do them quickly. Using time lamps. Feel more dynamic Clouds here and there. Let's add some highlight for the clouds using titanium white. So the light source is coming from the left side. So I'm going to add the highlight effect on the left side of the clouds using titanium white, the same technique. Firstly, that should be d of Y and rubidium rash. And then agains, smoothing the bottom layer. That began the soft, they exert. The same, the highlight. Using titanium white for all the clouds. Don't trash. Just relax and enjoy the progress.
9. Adding details to the Mountains: Let's add the details to the mountane, which is in the same dark portion of her artwork. I'm going to use violet with a little ditch of titanium white. You doesn't need to log the complete background of the mountain using the violet. Just add some shadow effect using the violet. Later we're going to add the highlighter effect using DE team light, just like there are fused nose or on top of the mountain. Let's add some snow using titanium white. Don't blog that complete mountane using one single color, leaves some violet spots, leave some brown spots, and add the highlight using titanium ride given minimum ratio so that we will get the texture. Just like dabbing a bit here and there. That shows it like a kind of the roller few, I've seen downs and some narrow tips or on demand 10. Let's add some clouds, like they're touching the tip of a mountain. To give that sunlight the effect. Let's mix a little touch of yellow ocher with titanium white and add some highlight on the mountain, on the snow. The completed adding details to the mountains and the clouds, everything they EDS add details to our trees. For that, I'm gonna use my old flat brush, half inch flat brush. Let's use Prussian blue hue, using the old flat range that bit. And then with the same rich pick up some yellow or curve. Though do I share branch? And again, dab it like that or a few trees.
10. Adding details to the Trees: Half inch flat brush. Let's use Prussian blue hue, using the old flat brush that bit. And then with the same dish, pick up some yellow ocher. Don't wash brash. And again, dab it like that All few trees to 18 invite along with the low occurred and add some highlight for the trees. Let's add highlight and the tree depth to the trees, returning the right side, I mean left side, by using Prussian blue hue and dab it length. I'm doing It's like a kind of a vertical stretch with the same grayish. Don't watch it. Just touch a bit of medium mellow on one tip and dab it on your palette and add the greedy effect, the leaf texture 2D trees that we are brash to give the texture of the leaves. Let's add field tallest trees here and there to give the realistic effect. With us my flat brush around grayish. Let's add some highlight using median Menlo. Along with that you can bet should be doffed ATM wide. Or instead of that medium yellow, you can batch and width of a law code and the little dish of titanium white and add some related effect.
11. Water Reflection and Waves: Let's add the dance to the reflection of the trees in water using Prussian blue hue and media may add some free vertical strokes, some stroke style, and some are shot down. It depends on the size of the trees. Firstly, make the horizontal stroke and pull the colors in a vertical manner. At some places you can add more media mellow, and at some places you again add more Prussian blue hue and deaths and do the vertical stroke, just pull the colors downwards. It can do the free stroke. Let's add some reflection for the trees in the background. Just add the horizontal stroke and folded downwards, the same free stroke vertically. Now I'm going to load my brush with a little touch of yellow ocher. And again, I'm gonna do the vertical stroke on top of Prussian blue hue just before we added. And also over the friend trees, you can add here and there with ILO or Kirsch. As we add a little touch of yellow ocher for those trees, we try adding this trend line. Let's add some blues on this guy. I'm gonna use my settlement, Blue Hill and Loria brash with the legitimacy of the paint and do the horizontal stroke he had in there. So kids, you damage the blue. I mean, if you use a blue on top of that reflection of the clouds and the reflection of the trees. It's okay, that will give us a 3D effect. And the water will look perfect. Just to give minimum pressure and do the stroke horizontally. And you can shake your rage in a zigzag movement. Like the water moves. Just play with the colors and enjoy the progress later, paintbrush Don's in the flow and feel more is exact movements on the reflection of the trees. Just give minimum ratio. You can use a smaller brush if you're not comfortable with half-inch flat dish, just become a quarter inch flat brush and do the stroke. Now I'm going to use a little bit of titanium white to add the V's. I'm using my smallest brush, you can either is my slab bridge or less miles downrange, given minimum pleasure. And the waves which are far away from us will be Ready smaller combating to the vase which are closer to as suggest, you can dab your brush for the distance v If posible. And also you can move your hand in a zigzag movement. When it comes closer to, as the waves get bigger and bigger. Keep loading your brush. And whenever you load a pledge, pick up very light paint, very little amount of paint. Don't load so much fade. And the blog that complete reflection in water. Add some leaves. Hearing there. Again, move your hand in a zigzag motion. Cue. The field like the water moves from this guide affliction, the treat of legend that clouds are flexion. So it's like a kind of continuation. And that will give the illusion that a kind of Waldo. Always keep in mind that you're painting doesn't always need to be exactly same as the difference. So don't give up, just practice. Keep walking and one day you will achieve what you will not be. So just keep practicing, keep experimenting, and you will love the progress.
12. Adding details to the Wooden log and Rocks: So I'll mostly completed the band grown and the middle exam, legs and the depth to the things which are in the foreground. That is the tree trunk and few rocks. So I'm going to use my burnt umber. And I'm going to bend the log which is floating in water. So I'm going to draw the outline using burnt amber using a fine tip, round Ridge. You can draw the outline and then you can fill in the space in say, the log using burnt umber. Let's add some mass black to give the shadow effect in our log. And the font, the highlighted area, we can add yellow ocher. Now let's add the deflection of that using the same color combinations like one Tombow, mass black, and with the flow of cash. Let's add some VMs using contained Taenia, like to divide the audit reflection of the log and the original law which is floating and adds them VBS by moving your hand in this exact motion. And let's add some highlight using a law could with a little age of 18 in white for the UDN log where the light sources heating. By using the same color combination legs in the rocks in say the Waldo, Like three dogs we were not being. First, draw the outline of the draw. You can block the band drawn with Bowen tumble and foreshadow, we can add mice black and do give high light. We can dance a little bit of yellow ocher. And again to give extra highlight began makes a little dish of titanium white with that, a lot of the same. Maybe we're not beyond all the three rocks. Once completed adding the debts to the logs, let's add the reflection for them using the same color combination like Blackburn tumble and yellow ocher. The same V, V band though then log. Now the Sibley, the rock and the reflection. Let's add a titanium white to add some v that will give us the effect of waters. And few more veins like a Dutch though didn't log and then come to the rock and moving aside.
13. Foreground Details : So now finally, let's add the details to the tree trunk and the rock which is in the foreground, which is very closer to as I'm going to use, the same color accommodation which we used for the wooden log and the rocks. That mass black, burnt amber or yellow ocher mice black to show that like a kind of shadow effect, burnt umber as the base color. And for the highlighted portion, we can add a yellow ocher. Just play with all the three colors and delegate satisfied. As acrylic is opaque, if you are not satisfied with the result, you can always redo on top of that. So don't give up and keep experimenting. Who knows? At some find a happy accident happened at that place. You can find new technique or something new. So just keep experimenting. Don't give up. Once you've blogged with the base color. And once you've completed adding shadows, we can move on to giving highlight where the plays the sunlight, the light source gonna hit. Okay. To give them extra highlighted effect, you can touch a little bit of Titanium white along with yellow ocher. Then we add more layers. Our artwork will become more interesting. And if you feel like you added more yellow ocher, then you can always go back with the darker shade. So just play with the colors until you get satisfied. This is the one common thing. And keep telling you. If you observe that she will get to see a lot of lines on the tree trunk. So you can add few brush marks. And also I'm gonna use burnt sienna to get that effect in my brown. Adding differentiate self color, we'll make our artwork looks more interesting. Instead of having a flat black color, if you add some burnt sienna, burnt umber and a little dish of yellow coherent there. And also you can even touch a little bit of blue or violet that will make our artwork looks more interesting. Now let's add the dial to the rock, which is in the foreground. So this same color combination, again, to give the shadow effect, you can use Mars Black to give the mid-tone. You can use burnt umber and to give the highlighted the effect, you can touch a bit of yellow ocher. And again, I'll deal dish of white with the law could give extra highlight. The same thing we're going to apply for this rock as well. Let's give the finishing final dash photo, a tree trunk, that kind of thing in our artwork and the rock, everything. The almost completed or a final project. I'm really satisfied with the result. I'm simply adding signed the dancing Ms. modest-sized branch. And the colors I'm using here or a walker allegedly show titanium white to you, the extra highlighted. You can always use a photograph, a set of friends to get the idea about how we gonna composed of her artwork. And again, your artwork doesn't need to be exactly same as the photograph or whatever reference you are using. Now I completed this painting and overall, I'm satisfied with the result. I hope you do painting along with me. If you did so, then definitely share your project in Skillshare class project, I'll be more than happy to give you feedback. And I hope to see you soon in May, ended up cause.
14. Final Thoughts : Hello guys. So finally, we have completed the project in a very easy way with the step-by-step guidance. So what are the things we learned in this course? Firstly, how do use a photograph as celebrations and how to observe the colors, everything in detail. After that, we have learned how to block the band room for this guy, the mountain, the trees, and also the rocks and few more things fade. So I hope this session will be really helpful for you. And after that, I shown how to add details in a very easy manner and how to add reflection in water, everything in detail. I hope now you've got the clean idea about how to add details in clouds, how to add the deserts and mountains, and also how to give the highlighted effect and shadow effect in the trees. And also the treat affliction in water, waves, things step-by-step. And also the D does indeed rocks. So everything will be clear for you, I guess if I'm not strong. So I hope to see your class project in Skillshare class project, I'll be more than happy to give you feedback.
