1. 1. Introduction : Hello makers and welcome
to another crochet class. In today's class, I would
love to show you how we can achieve this crochet
color block. Someone that has made it
absolutely simple stitches. If you're a beginner, do not get intimidated by
the color block. I will show you how we
can easily achieve this. It's all worked in one panel. The stitches that you need to know and be comfortable with for this class are the basics
which I have to put crochet, slip stitch and a single crochet if you're very comfortable
with this stitches visual. So click on Enroll and
let me see you in class. At the end of the class, you should be able to achieve this beautiful
crochet summer top. There is a written
hazard available in multiple sizes, seven
different sizes. So it goes from extra small
up to three extra large. So if you are anything
other than this size small, which is what I'm
making this class, then be sure to grab
that it's going to be available for everybody and follow along as we
titled this class. So let me see you in class.
2. 2. Materials: In today's class, the
materials that we'll be using. White, worsted weight yarn, yellow, gray, or any three
colors of your choice. Scissors, four
millimeter crochet, hook, yarn, needle, and
some stitch markers. So be sure you have
those very close by and let's get started.
3. 3. Stitches Used: The stitches that will be used
in this class on a chain. Slip stitch. Single crochet and a
half, double crochet. Or beginner friendly stitches.
4. 4. How To Make The Foundation Chain: So before I go any further, I'd just like to say
in this tutorial, I will be demonstrating a
size small crochet top. However, if you make it
any size is different. Remember, there is a PDF
pattern linked below. Be sure to follow that. And it's available in
several different sizes. It goes from extra
small to extra large. You're going to
bring your color. And remember, I'm
starting with white. And this white color is
going to be the color that will be at the top of my work. So you wanna be given
with whatever color you want to have at
the top of your work. So you just want to make
a slipknot like that. And since I'm making
this nice smooth, I'm going to start with a
clear chain of 15 in white. And just like that, I've got 15 right here. And then you're going to
grab your gray color. Whichever color comes second, and just make a slipknot
just like that. And for the rest is I'm supposed to have 47 for the foundation. For the rest of it made
it with 32 chains. So you're just gonna
put it on the hook like that and slip stitch it through. Just like that. You're going to drop the white, grab the gray and
finish off chaining. So I'm gonna change
the total of 32. I will finish off
tailing off camera, but then I will
meet you once I am done with my third
to two chains.
5. 5. Row 1 & increasing: So this is what the
Foundry Foundation change should be looking at. What about now? Now to get started or
ruin your coronary ANOVA. And then into the
second change from the hook will be working
into the bump, bump. So nice when you just want to turn that chin the other way around and into these little bumps,
into the second chain. Go into there and place a half
double crochet yarn over, insert your hook
through, pull up a loop. Three loops on our
hook, yarn over, pull through three
jars like that. So you want to do this all
the way until you've got one more chain of gray left. So you go on doing this, placing half double
crochet and two, you have one more
chain right here, left, so that we can
finish off together. And I can show you
how we're going to transition into the white. Let me just show you
one more time how we do a half double crochet yarn over, insert your hook, pull through
the loop like this ANOVA, and you will prove two
or three just like that. And this is what a half double crochet should be looking like. So you go on and do you have
one more chain left of gray? And I will meet you there. So now I have
arrived where I have one more chain of great left. So you're gonna
use ANOVA as good as if we're about to do
a half double crochet. Insert your hook into the bump, bump, put through a
loop just like that. And then now we're going
to grab a yellow yarn, the whole book and bring it
towards us, just like this. And then to finish off a half
double crochet as you know, Yann over and finish
off the road. But this time we're
going to yarn over with the white yarn and pull
through to finish that row. Now Stuart and into the
buck bumps going to, go on with the white ANOVA
and half double crochet. Remember you will be
dropping the gray ball or the ball the other
you've just finished working on towards you. Just like I did. So your ANOVA and
half double crochet, and we're gonna have half
double crochet in all of them. Once we reach the last
one will be placing our very first increase
of the row into there. And we'll be
increasing by placing 2.5 double crochets into
the very same stitch. Just pause the video and I'm going to go on
quickly get to the last, last shape so that we
can increase together. So here we are. I have arrived at the last chain and enter that last
change, Dylan, the bump bump would be
placing an increase of 2.5 double crochets one and the same chain
Karim with another one, making it a total
of two cells retain for a sample we had
for the six stitches, but after increasing,
we're back to 47. So that's the first row done. To begin row two is going
to be a slip stitch. Wrote it as normal. Usually you chain what to
start a slip stitch Row. But still, since
we're increasing, we're going to be changing too. Just like that. And for the rest of the work, we're gonna be working
into the back loops to get that knit look into that
second chain from the hook. Into that back loop only. Go in with a slip stitch, your hook and just pull
through like that. And for the rest we're going
to be slipped stitching into that back loop only
just like I'm doing. It's just into that back with v. This one right here. Instead of insert your
hook through here, we're gonna be my hook
through that back loop. You go on doing
this and you've got one more stitch,
this one right here, left before the gray, so that I can show you
once again how we're going to transition to
the next corner. So far you can see a little knitting
stitch is starting to form. Here we are. We've arrived at
that last ditch. And as usual, you're going to insert your
hook through there. Bring your white
yarn to the front. In front of your work. Grab your gray from the back and finish that slip
stitch. Just like that. Let me show you that once you're gonna insert
your hook into that last stitch of the row, instead of finishing
off that row like this, as we will do the slip stitch, you're going to bring
that white young underneath your hook and
late in front of you, grab that gray that
we left behind ANOVA and finish off that slip
stitch Row just like that. Then we will proceed. Place in Greece lip
stitches just like that. And all we've done is
made a little segment, separation of the
white and the black. And it's going to form
just perfectly fine. You're gonna continue
slip stitch it once you get at the end
of the rope or chain one together and then I will meet
you So that remind you how can I stop there will
at the end of the room, we're just going to
chain one to know what chain one does
not count as a stitch. By the way, this is what the 2 first 2 rows
should be looking. From here on out, we're going to do is repeat these two rows. Start, I'll have
double crochets. This is now back to our half
double crochet is we're going to go half double
crochet in a slip stitch Row. We're going to ask
half double crochet. Once we get here,
we're going to switch colors as we just did. Once you get to the top place to have double crochets
in there to increase. And then to start the next row where it's due,
increasing your color, chain to slip stitch
down, emphasize small. We're going to be increasing
for a total of nine rows. So I have two here
beginning on my third, I will increase
for nine rows and the nitrile should end up
at the top of our work. So I'm gonna go and
increase it for nine rows. If you're doing other sizes, remember to follow
that written pattern to know how many rows you
need to increase for. So after you're done at
the top of your work, Let's meet right there.
6. 6. Shoulder portion: So after working
your nine rows or whatever number of rows
that's required for the site. This is what our work
should be looking like. We have done the
rules of increasing. Remember replace
that last increase into that last
stitch right there. And now for size small, we're going to be making your chain from
here, going on up. And precise more. We're just gonna be making
a chain of 24 other sizes. Please follow that reading
guide to show that, to know how many chairs that you need to
make for this part. This part now we're making
the shoulder portion. So I'm just going
to chain 920 for me and 20. So this is what the 20
should be looking like. Just like that. So now we're back to the
slip stitch Row. Obviously. We're not doing anymore
increasing or decreasing. We're just going to
be working as normal, still working into
the bug bumps from imbecile into that second
chain from the hook, which is gonna go in
with that slip stitch. And slip stitch all the way down when we get to this place where we have to
change it to the other color, we'll be changing just as
we've been doing normally. Normally, when you get to
the end your chain one, turn, half double
crochet all the way up. When you get to the
top, you chain one turn slip stitch down for
the shoulder portion. For the shoulder
portion for so small, we'll be working a
total of five roles in the fifth row should have
this ending at the bottom. All of us should have
ended at the bottom after we're done working
on the shoulder portion. And then after we've done the fibers of the
shoulder portion, I will meet you so that
we can now start dividing the midsection of
our crochet top. So you go on with that
shoulder portion. The number of rows
that's required and I will be right back.
7. 7. Chest decrease: So after you've done
work in the five rows with shorter portion like
I have right here, 12345. I'm gonna place
you're going to place a stitch marker into this ditch, kept him from the very top. I've counted 15, so I've placed this stitch
marker to the 50th. This is for size small for the other side, this is
going to be different. So after you've done this, you just want to go on
with your half double, half double crochet row up until Tuesday just before
the stitch marker. I've already gotten
started on my rope. So you might just want to
pause the video and meet me back so that we can get
started on the habitable. We can decrease together. So stewarding into
those platforms to just the half double
crochet until you have two stitches left
before the stitch marker. So now Helios into these two stitches is We will be pleased
to know decrease. So to decrease a half
double crochet yarn over, insert your hook into
the first stitch, pull up a loop, three
loops on our hook. Yarn over into the next, pull up a loop now
have four loops on our hook. Yarn over. Pull through everything.
That's our first decrease. You're going to chain one and we're going to be decreasing
now slips the trunk. So to decrease this
leaps Detroit. Insert your hook,
pull up a loop. You have two loops on the hook and loop into the next stitch, three loops and slip
stitch through everything. And you will continue as men. So this is our second group
decrease and you already can to see the work is
starting to doublets. So you're going to be
decreasing for a total, the same number of rows that we increased from this side, side. So that's going to be
nine rows for size small. So go on decreasing. We're only decreasing
the top right here and the last two stitches, I'm going to go on
decreasing for them last for the nine rows. And then I'll meet
you when I'm done.
8. 8. Colour Changing and Chest Increase: So once you have reached
that last stitch before changing to the white
transition into the light. Just went over. Insert your hook as
we've been doing. Now. Grab that new color. Using a bit of tail. They're just going to slip stitch and finish off that road. So now I've got the
yellow to my site. And now I've got the
gray little tail. I'm going to work over in
that white we cut off. So we're just going to work
over those at the same time. Can I proceed like so? Just like that, once you
get to the end of the row, let me meet you there
so that we can make our first increase together. So here I am not going into
that last cluster truck. They're gonna be placed
into half double crochet. And then I'll change
to two terms. To remember we
decrease nine rows. I'm going to be increasing
nine roles as well. So whatever number
is your decrease is the same number of Russia,
you're going to be increasing. So that was my first row. This is my second,
I know chained to offer go slip stitch and the rest is just gonna
be as we've been doing when it comes to the
transition and other colors, you're just going
to be changing as it's been changing
the entire time. So you'll go on and increase for a total of the number of rows
that's required. And then let me
explain the rest. You're going to
increase, for example, for this time, for this, I'm going to be increasing
nine rounds after the interests now knows I'm
gonna be making a chain. Remember we placed our
stitch marker into the 15th, meaning there's a total
15 stitches right here. So we're going to mirror what we did decide right on this side. You're gonna chain whatever
number that's required. But once we get there, but once we get to this
part on this side, I will meet you there
so that I can walk you through every single step. You go in and increase the
number of votes as required. For size, I'm going to be
increasingly nine rows. And then I'll meet
you so that we can change this shoulder portion.
9. 9. Other Shoulder portion: So I have just finished
increasing my room. And I have this the part where I have to do my chin or 50. So we're just going
to make that shape or whatever number is
required for your site. Blocking off that last chin, I'll add one more
change to turn. Now, all I'm going to
be doing is working five rows of our normal rules
of the shoulder portion, just like we did this side. Justin, decide after I
woke my five rows and then we're gonna come back
to decreasing or finishing off that the top. So I'm going to work this five rows of camera
you will cover maneuvers. You tip this side, on this side, and then I'll meet
you so that we can now finish off by
decreasing this site.
10. 10. Ending front Panel: So now I've just
finished work in my five rows for the
other shoulder portion. Now, let me take you
back to this slide. If you remember, after we increased the number
of rows this side, we change 20 and that we change 20 with that work into the second chain
without slip stitches, which left us with 19
stitches on this side. So what we have to do on
this side is leaf that stitch marker into that 19th
stitch like I did here. And the shorter portion
of this that is going to have you finished
at the end of the arrow. So just chain one, woke back up. Pause the video and
then you'll notice right here so that we
can now decreased. To finalize the front portion. Social decrease. All we're doing is pretty much what we've been
doing the entire time. You're going to
leave two stitches, which like I have done
right here before the stitch marker and decrease
that half double crochet, just like that chain, 110, Shannon and ten
Andrew decrease. Two stitches on that
slip stitch Row, just like we've been
doing this entire top. And as usual, since I'm
doing a size small, I will be decreasing for
a total of nine rows. So after you've decreased, just chairman and
cut off that yarn. And you'll be ending at the top of your work for the ninth row. So go on my head, decrease a total of nine rows. And then after you're
done, you can meet me, write bugs so that we can I can show you how
you're going to work. The front panel. The back panel, sorry.
11. 11. Back Panel : If you want to work
the back panel in the very same colors
as we did the front. That's absolutely up to you. All you have to do is repeat this very same thing
for the back panel. But otherwise, I works the back panel in one solid
color, which is the great. You can pick any
color of your choice. I chose to have the Greek. So you're just gonna
do, make a whole chain. For example, salesman,
We're gonna cheer 47 because on this, tuning 15 and then 32, if I'm not wrong for this
and you just going to change 37 and work everything
else as normal. When you reach two, when you reach this point
where we had to switch colors, you're just going to ignore this and you're
just going to keep on working with your
one solid color. So there'll be no switching
on colors or whatnot. The color block area, you're just working the
whole thing in one color. Increases. We did
decrease as we did. Don't forget those
theorems and between increased whatnot and
everything chain on and cut. So that now we can
connect the two together. Clean off the ends and enjoy.
12. 12. Connecting: So to connect the
two body portions, you're going to lean
back like this. So the ribbed area
or the right side, left side with the
pretty ribs facing you. Then you're going
to take the front. Have the pretty sight, the ribs side facing each other. So the right side
should be facing each other. Just like that. And then you lay them
on top of each other. I like to collect my work
with my crochet hook. But if you prefer to use a yarn needle, that's
absolutely fine. What I'm gonna do is
grab my crochet hook and I will single crochet
decides together. And to do so, I have my
yarn here on the hook. I did it fast enough that side. So to connect, all I'm gonna do is insert my hook into them, back loop of my first
stitch on the side of the front panel and
then the buck loop of the first stitch
of the back panel. And single crochet. Do the same thing for
the next stitch and the same thing for the next
edge of the back panel. And single crochet. Just going to do
this all the way down to the yellow part
after we get to the end, chain one and cut, repeat the same thing
for this side as well. Then after, after
you've done that, do the very same thing
for the shoulder, pushes them together with your urine needle
oil crochet hook you, we'll single crochet. Then I'll meet you
so that we can clean off the horse and the neck.
13. 13. Cleaning up : Social cleaner font,
the arms we have, we're going to have two
different colors at the top. So you want to make sure
you place a single crochets around each color,
depending on the color. So I'm going to start
with your white, and I'm going to
use the white yarn. Just going to make that
slipknot and connect this area. Make a single crochet. And then I'm gonna
bring these tails so I can work over them as I go. And I'm going to be placing the single crochet on this side. Slip stitch and half double crochet rows while still working off of that tail. So I like to just pull the tail just to make
sure it's nice and even inside a container to place those single crochets
on top. Just like that. Then when you get to the chained area's going to be so
much easier to see. I'm not there yet, but
once you get there, it's going to be so
much easier for you to see where depletion single
crochets pass for now. I have managed to leave those. Those yarn ends in
without much trouble. So let me just get to the
chin area so I can show off talking about okay. So pretty much here. This right here is a hostage, so I'm just going to
single crochet, right? And then this right
here is a hostage. I also just single crochet
and they're just like that. And we'll continue to do this all the way until I
get there and then I'll meet you there so
that we can switch to the grid and do that
for the other side. I have reached where
the gray begins. I'm just going to insert my hook into that first
stitch of the great, grab the yarn, pull through and finish
that single crochet. Now I've left the white, we can cut that and
with that in elite up. And I'm going to
continue working over that little tool we
have our February. Rather not continue
single crocheting with the gray all the way
to the end where we began, which is all the way down here. With this very same concept, you're gonna do the same
thing for the neck line. You're going to
start with a gray. Go all the way around
once you reach here where it connects with the way you're going to leave the grain. Start with the white and single
crochet, all the way up. As per this side of the arm hole where the
colors are the same. You don't have to
worry about that. You're just going to go the
wrong casing single crochets. The written pattern is going
to tell you replace tumors of single crochets if you
wanted to need to look, personally, this
is fine with me. I'm gonna just leave it
here, but if you want, you can go ahead and go over
two rows of single crochets. So I'm just going
to finish this off. You pause the video. Finish off. We've
cleared cleaning up both both openings that suppose I'm openings
and the neck opening. And then I'll meet you so
that we can now leaving this little bit
sarcastic and up two.
14. 14. Weaving in ends: So if you love literally
on insider long enough for a whole
crochet needle, then I would advice you
use that bus for mine. They're so short that is going to keep
stepping out of the eye. So what I like to do is
just use my crochet hook and weave it through the
single crochet stitches. Just like so. And if you can, the others, you can just cut them
off with the scissors. And just like that. As for these ones,
you could just grab your scissors and cut them off. So we still have, we still have our top on the right way round. So you just want to
turn that right? We want the other side and go, Hey, is your crochet
top or down? It's all pretty. And the sides where we were
sitting in the yellow, you can see it just blends in
perfectly and so beautiful. And that's it. This is your top. Let me see if I can
get it all in frame. So here it is. Here
is your crochet top. You're crushing kind of laptop. I hope you love it. If you do, be sure to leave those
reviews, those comments, and projects in the
project section so that we can see if
you have any questions, be sure to read them
out there as well, so that I can address you
together with other students.
15. 15. Outro : Congratulations on
finishing your class of this crochet salmon top. I hope you loved it. I hope
everything made sense. So go on, work on them
projects and be sure to post those pictures down below
so that we can admire. And if you need any help, we can assist each other until next time guys see you
in the next class.
