1. Introduction: way. Welcome with beautiful video transitions in after effects, where I will teach you how to create engaging and interesting transitions for your videos for your product. And you will learn how degree templates, which is used later on, to make it more fun and interesting. This will be a two part serious. In the first part, we'll focus on the design, will create the transitions Select course and brainstorm how to create them. The second part will teach you how to put everything together. I will teach you how to design several reveals for the animation. The animation's will play, and then they will reveal itself. I'll also teach you how to review one video with another video, how to add the transitions, insider videos and how to make a template of this entire competition. If you want to take your aftereffect skills to the next level, learn how the pros make templates. They sell and learn Great after affects the heat along the way. I invite you inside this glass. I'm ready. Let's start board 2. Mommy :( I don't know AE at all :(: hello to you. Thank you very much for starting this course before we get rolling. I just wanted to make sure. How familiar are you it after effect? If you are a tiny bit familiar, you can follow along this class. Everything will be explained in a rather simple fashion. If you are just starting out or are very new to this after the next lesson will provide you with a basic explanation off some key aftereffects functions. If you would like to get a deeper understanding off aftereffect, I have also a class after effects for beginners. Get started with motion graphics. This is an extensive five hour course, which can teach you everything you need to know in after effects in order to start doing those more fancy things. Or you can eventually sit down and cry in the corner, which I don't recommend. But life is full of choices, so the choice is yours. So basically, I recommend following along or starting the next lesson. If you really will not be possible to complete this transition or something else, either please ask me a question. I will help you gladly or eventually take the extensive course to be more prepared. Thank you, and let's roll 3. After Effects Basics: If You Are New To The Software: since I told that this course is even great for people who never opened aftereffect. I want to show you a few basics about the program, which will make the work easier, and you will get a bit more familiar with the entire program. This will not be a detailed the kite about every aspect off the program, but I would share a few words about the interface at first. Then I will show you how to create new layers and populate a composition. I will tell you what properties are, how to create a really basic animation, what the graph editor is, and we will around everything up by showing you what pre composing is. Okay, let's start with the interface. Perhaps you know, Photoshopped, you have your working area, you have your layers and you can align or panels as you want, and you can use any tools you want after effects. It's of course, a bit different, but it's still the native adobe environment, and many things will be similar. We have the tools here on the top. We have some panels on the right, and this is our working area called a composition. If you are familiar with the program. I believe you can skip this lesson. But if you want to get a grasp of what we will be doing and what tools will use in the line , reveal animation. 10. Please stay tuned with me. After Faith has a few main components. Here will be our project files and compositions. This is our working canvas. So it's a composition. On the left bottom side, we have our layers. Justus photo shop and something that Photoshopped doesn't have is our timeline. The time on indicates how long the composition will last and how long each layer is displayed. Let me go ahead and create a new composition. I have some preset here with an HD video and the composition will be 13 seconds long. Well, perhaps you want to make a longer video, so I make it 30 seconds. What? A black background. Let me scroll in. So this is now our working canvas. You can also turn on the transparency. If this is easier for you to work once you have the composition ready. You see, it's shown here in the product files. I would like to populate this composition with a background. I go to the layer panel. I right click on it. I press new and I press and you saw it. Let's select a background for our composition. Let's make it maybe a blue on and hit. OK, as you can notice, this is a layer inside of our composition. You can, of course, resize it because it's a simple object. It's a solid object. I can reduce its duration on the timeline. And if I will hit play on the video once the video place for 10 seconds, this layer disappears because it is no longer on the timeline. Let's add some text. Now I let some text maybe I write Hello now had down over. You see, we have two layers. I will extend this layer because I want both layers to play for 30 seconds. This little icon here indicates what type of layer is it? So it is easier for us to get a grasp off what we have in our composition. To make the editing easier on the timeline, you can, for example, change the color so you know that the blue ones will be for the text. Let me go to photo shop. You may know that each layer can have its own style in photo shop. This looks like that after effects is just the same in this matter. Once you open that layer, you have properties. You can select an edit, for example. Let me right click on the text. I go to layer styles and I make drop shadow. As you see, a little shadow has appeared over the text and in the properties we have drop shadow. You can, of course, go inside the shadow and change everything up. We won't cover that now. That's just a basic. So you know that each layer can have its own properties. Now let's head over to animation. The last basic thing I want to show you make the text a bit smaller, so it's easier to see and let me hit P. So I opened up the position property and I select the key frame. I come and that's the after effects essential. You need to know I will jump four seconds forward. I will move the text to the right by holding the shift key, and you can notice another key frame has appeared. Key frames are indicating change in the value of any property. This time we have the position selected and from 0 to 4 seconds the Hello a text is animating forward. I will had space to preview it. We have now a study for seconds animation. One of the last things I want to show you in this short tutorial is the graph editor. The graph editor is a very advanced feature, and there could be another course just on this topic. But I just want to show you the basics. The graph Editor It's a visual interpretation off how fast the animation goes. As you can notice here, the animation goes for about 200 pixels a second, and it goes on for four seconds, nearly through the entire composition. That's a nice animation, but it's very unrealistic. Let me copy over the hello text by pressing P on the keyboard, I will open up the position on the first key frame. I position it a bit to the bottom by entering 600 Here, let me lower just down and here I want 600 as well. Now I have to the same animations. I will select both key frames and I pressed this little like Um, this is the animation, so it will start slower. It will hit its peak in the middle, and then it will again go floor. Let's preview the animation now. As you can notice, it has a completely different motion. It starts slow, it goes a bit faster and it ends slow again. While this animation it's very unnatural, it's very robotic. So in certain design and animations, you want this robotic feeling. But sometimes you want this nice and natural feeling, and this is why the graph editor is for I'll select this animation one more time. I will select the key frames. As you can notice, they have trained on the left and right side because they are east in an East out. Let me select the property and you can design this animation as you want. For example, if you want it to start quickly and slow down on the end, let me select the last key frame, and I pull this handle by holding the shift key so I don't snap away and you'll see now it will start really quickly and later it will still slow a bit down. Let us preview the animation exactly we have a really nice motion and both motions take four seconds to play. All right, I covered. Now the most important basics you need to know before you enter the course. The last thing I want to show you that you can pre compose to another composition everything you want to add it to do this simply right, click on it and hit pre compose or press control or comment shift. See, you can hit. Okay. And now it would be easier for us to edit boat text because in Photoshopped you could call these groups. But here these are compositions. I can double click on the composition, and I can no work only inside of this composition. Why is this useful? Off course you can edit boat at one time, for example. You want effect. You would like to give it a colorful ramp effect ranging from red to blue. And as you see, I've edited both of these Texas with one effect inside of one composition, you can hit space to preview, and these are the very basics you need to know before entering the course. If you are already familiar with after Frank's, that's great. You'll gain some new informations and nice shortcuts. I'll teach throughout the course, but if you are a total newcomer, you also will have very much fun. It will be really great for you. What you can do. You can watch this entire course one time. And then the second time we worked, you can work along with me. This will be really easy. You just need to follow the steps I take. And if you want, you don't have to animate an entire ward. You can, for example, animate a shape you can make For example, a shape like that. Fill it with anything and you could make the outline for a shape. Maybe this will be easier for you. Thank you for attention on this extensive tutorial. And I really hope this will help you to gain the necessary basic knowledge you need in after effects. See you in the next lesson. 4. Transition 1: The corner: All right, let's get things going and create our first transition press control or comment and and right on a name for the composition, I'll write t one, the corner. This actually sounds a lot more deadly than it actually is. 30 frames per second. Maybe with the duration. Make it for seconds long. Okay, We have our new composition to work on. We will be here a little bit nerdy. So please select control or comment are toe open up The rulers. Anyone place a ruler on the left bottom corner So I will select this. Come really close to the composition. Just leave a little space here in between them and make the first ruler. I can press space to navigate here, and I also take a ruler to make a horizontal line. Now, I also leave a little space here. So the corner is just beyond the original composition. Maybe even a bit more just for fun. And our beautiful workspace is prepared by I'll zoom out with the scroll wheel because I will make really big rectangles here, select the rectangle tool and make a really big, big rectangle something like that. It will automatically snap to the borders we prepared. Now, as you have direct angle with a beautiful color, maybe make it something different than that. Or if you want, stay with a purplish pinkish color. It's completely up to you now. Once you draw this rectangle, you see this little object here. This is called an anchor point, and the shape will transform towards this point. Now I want to change this point to be exactly in this corner in this spot. For that I need to select the pan behind tool You can press why on your keyboard to make it visible. And now you must be very careful here because the rectangle itself has its own anchor point and the shape has its own anchor point. Once I select the rectangle here, direct angle pat, I have this anchor point, and once I select the shape layer, I have this anchor point. This time I will not use the rectangle. I'll use the shape, so click on the shape press underpinned behind toe klik, and it should perfectly snap to this position as well. Now we can start to work on our transition. I person the shape layer and I press are to open up the rotation now I will place a key frame at the beginning. Where we start I go one a second forward exactly to the 1st 2nd And this is where my transition should be visible at 90 degrees. So I look put here, press 90 and make it stay like that. Now the reason we wanted to make this rectangle so big because as we transition out we'll rotate it it even more. And if it would be too small, it would be visible in this corner that this rectangle is too small. Century made it so big, it will be no problem. We have the 90 degrees and everything is working fine. Now I will select my play head and press page down 12345 times to go. Five frames forward or maybe even 10. 12345 Five Friends, More 10 frames. Spare time should be okay. You can also make this with shift by pressing shift. It will go 10 frames forward automatically. Now I'll place another different here. Go to write about two seconds and naked 1 80 degrees. So the transition will be looking as falls it will come in, stay for a few frames and then it will transition out. Now I want to select those key frames and go inside of the graph editor to ease this animation a little bit, because right now this is a very static animation. It goes with the same speed along the entire animation. I select all four key frames and press this little button to ease them in. Now you see, the motion is a little bit east. It starts slower, and then it goes faster. But I want an even stronger movement. Let me select the speed graph, and this shows me how many degrees will fall in a second. I select the first to key frames now. I pulled the left handle, pull the right handle and I have a different motion. I will do the same for the second key frames. I make it started a little bit quicker and then slowly fade off. Now let's preview the animation itself by hitting the space bar. Here. It's just a little bit nicer. So now what we have to do is to duplicate that layer four times. 1234 times pressed on control D or maybe three times will be enough. And I will stagger the players by having this layer selected and pressing page up. Page down. I'm moving the play head. But if I will hold my left all key, I'll move the entire layer. So I want the first layer to be 12345 frames forward. I d select everything with shifty. I select the last 212345 American select the last 12345 I have a bit off a staggered animation here as I press you, I can see it now. I need to change. Of course the cars and this will be completely up to you. Select the layers change their color, for example to something like that. Then I will go. Maybe something yellow because it's really dark in here yellow and something friendly for the last layer. Let me check out Well, we have blue. We're gonna stay with green. Okay? This information should look cool. Let me preview it. Well, we are almost done now. What's the problem here? The animation goes in now the other layers are fading off and the green is fading as the last, but the green should stay here and the other short transition out. So I select all the last key friends here. This last this last this last and I need to move them five frames forward. 12345 If I want to be exactly like this, Okay. 12345 Chefs key dis elected to going forward Shift key The selecting 12345 I mechanized permit. Here, let me review it. Boom and boom! It goes really properly Eventually. If you don't like the motion, you can do some tricks like selecting all those key frames, pressing the left old key and shifting those key frames. You see, they shift according to this, and this will create just a little bit more interesting motion. You can also select the first key frames and do something like that by holding the old key . I didn't select this one. Sorry to stagger them just a little bit in a more interesting way. Now let's preview demotion If this looks OK, Well, actually, the 1st 1 look a bit the worse. So I just go control Z. I like the end animation but I didn't like this staggering. So let me prove it once again, this looks really okay. I believe we are nearly done with this transition. If you don't want to make it as flat as here, press control or command five to open up the effect and presets or goto window effect on presets and to select a drop shadow president Drop shadow, place it into the first layer and we see a little shadow. Here, let me de select this option so the selection won't be interview. I have something like that. And if the quality is too low, remember for preview proposes. Select here, toe full quality. Now it's rendered for quality. And I see this shadow is very strong. I don't need it like this may be a bigger distance like eight to make it bigger but much, much softer, soft like is something around here? I have maybe 90 year 90 will be OK and definitely a little bit less capacity. Let me make the opacity toe 30%. The direction is all right. It should be okay now. I can just control see this drop shadow shift Select all layers and control V as a press e like effect. You'll see all layers have a drop shadow, and it gives me a bit off depth between those layers. So I have the first transition prepared. Like this boom. It renders a bit longer because I have four quality selected and I have a drop shadow effect. It's space a few seconds and it starts to fade away. I believe we are done with our first transition here, as we will package everything together. Well, add color controls and some other useful stuff. But for the beginning, that transition won. The corner will stay like this. Thank you very much for your attention. I hope you fold along and you're also ready with your first transition. If not, open up after effect and start working. You will be ready in a few minutes. See you then. 5. Transition 2: Splash!: for this transition, we will select a custom image. We will prepare it for work and then we create at teamed Transition out of it. Hey, welcome back. Let us make another interesting transition. I will not waste in the time. And I'll tell you, Please create a new composition. I press control or comment and inside of after effect, and they named my composition t two splash. This time we will try to create a splash. You can, of course, create something different, but I would like to show you a simple workflow you can follow to create nearly any kind of transition. Working with any scheme you select for this transition, we will dive deep into a splash, so I'll use a site called Free Big, but you are free to select any resource you want. Rebuke is really okay because there are plenty off vectors here to select. You can purchase a subscription if you would like to use them commercially, but you can also go with a free plan, so I'll select splash and try to find something. You can, of course, take Google search because it doesn't matter if you use a PNG image or vector images. Once you find something, please, Donald, A splash like this. I'll go with the green ones here. These look very cool and symmetrical, so I'll just download them and see you. In a brief moment. I select the free download. I have to vector FIEs which would be perfect for usage. But let's say someone off. You doesn't know illustrator and doesn't know how to use those vector files. So I'll use the J pic. You would need to have a transparent. So let me open it. I'll open it in photo shop. If you don't want to use Photoshopped or Illustrator, please just find something transparent. I look quickly prepared this year Maybe I will use only those splashes. I cropped them around. I d select everything. I use my magic oneto I delete everything and this is okay to use. Now I can select them and create new files for usage. Two or three different images will be completely enough. So once you prefer a few images or you search for them on the Internet, please save them and we are ready to work now going back into aftereffect I select the assets and I placed them here. Since these are PNG images, you can take them into your design. You can go toe layer, although trace select okay and out a trace will create a victories layer. Remember, once you are tracing it, auto trace have applied to a new layer selected I'll delete now the P and G. I will go to the effect once again. And as you saw, I will select the full effect. I will take this full effect on this auto trace layer. And now, depending on what color you want to achieve, you just change the color. Here, let me do the same for the other images. I take the full effect Control. See Control V Control V All right now, I have three different splashes. I'll also duplicate the first splash, maybe duplicate the second. I have around five splashes. I want to change their coloristic. Now let's say we are staying with the red car. So I take the red color. I makes a burgundy darker. I make some lighter. I make a really heavy red. Now I have five splashes. Now, if you are in the same place than I, we can start adjusting it. You can go with the same color over each one if you want. And what is the beauty? Here? You can create any type of transition because, for example, I have something teamed and connected with water with fishes. I would use this splash, but you can use any PNG image and the vector image where you can do houses. You can do animals and you can create a transition with help off them. Maybe five way too much. Let me select four, and I'll place them somewhat around here in random places. I will stagger them like this one. A few frames. I don't have to be precise. I would like kind of a random feeling here. I will select all of those layers by hitting on the first shift key and selecting Oldham. Now I'll open up the scale by hitting the S key. I take the 1st 1 I press on the key frame and I go down toe 0% scale. I go 12345 maybe six frames forward and I will make this scale much, much bigger because I want those splashes to cover up the entire screen. Let's say I'll make it 400%. I'll take those key frames. Place the play had here and copy them over. Place it here. Select the layer Control V. Take this one. Control. We now let us preview. What did we achieve? Well, it's very quick. It's too quick and it's still too small. So I need to definitely select all of key frames. Make them longer and now work with the scale. The last one is the biggest one. So you have to make this key frame bigger. And now watch there because there is something important. If the play head will be here and I will work with the scale, it will just put another key frame. I need the scale again. All right. You need to move. The play had here in order to change the value off this key free. Now, the best thing in the world happened. My computer froze. Let me redo the things I've done before. And I have got back to you in a second. I'm really sorry, but this was really weird. Okay, I'm back at the moment we left. I'll use only tree splashes. So one to treat I go forward. The 1st 1 this upper one covers it pretty much. The 2nd 1 needs some adjustment. It needs to be fairly bigger. It's actually the left one. All right Now I go to the last. It also covers up the screen, maybe just a tad bigger. And I feel like either you can select the same color for all of them or you can stay with random colors. There was not much work left. You will see how we can later on revealed the same backwards. But this comes later as we create a few transitions. I believe I want to create 1st 4 transitions with you before we start making a template all of this, and prepare it for re usage. Basically what I wanted to show you that with the simplest tools, like only the scale property, you can create an interesting transition which will have its own team. Let me preview it. Well, of course, you need to change those key frames you need to either right click key from assistant and Eazy e's them so they look a bit better. And if the animation is still too boring, anyone to spice it up there's go inside. The graphic it or selector key frames and change them a little bit up. Now, let's make it quicker at the beginning, and then it'll go a bit slower. Something like this looks OK. Something is wrong with the right one. I should maybe reposition it like this. Let me preview this now. All right, look. A tiny bit better. And currently the animation is okay. Thank you very much for working with me. I hope you selected either your own splash or your own team and created a custom transition with it. 6. Transition 3: Ribbon worm: this transition will involve a lot of after effects tricks we will use shape players will scale them, colorize them to create a nice transition. Now, finally, some real aftereffect will begin before we start the turtle one. Let me quickly take the assets into one folder. So I create a new folder to group everything properly and they name it asks. That's not the word you taught off. It's only assets. All right, let's create a new composition control and 80 size 30 frames. Four seconds is all right. I'll name it t three stripes. I'll go and select a rectangle tool by pressing que are selecting it from our tools here. Now select any color you want. I think I will select black as first and by the way, this is a transparent grid. If you want to work on a black background, you can also de select the transparency. But for the sake of the transitions which need to be transparent in order to reveal a video which is beneath, I'll always work with the transparency on as a press control or command K to see my options . This is a full HD size composition. I need to fill it with several blocks. So I have a shortcut for my calculator. I opened my super brand new advance calculator. I take my height 1 80 I divided. How many bars do you want? 567 Maybe eight. Let's select seven and just look okay. We need about 150 pixels in each to fill out the entire height with seven blocks. OK, I'll go. 1 55 This is all right. By having direct angle to select it, click and drag the first object. You don't have to be precise at this moment because we will change it just in a moment I haven't hear my shape layer is created. I can work with the rectangle or as previously with the actual shape layer. Once you have the first block created, we can start to adjust it. I opened up the layer by heading this triangle. Go into content and we have our rectangle inside of the rectangle. You have the tools that specify this particular rectangle. It has a pad. This is the pets around here. It has a stroke. Well, actually, no stroke. But do we could set it? We have Phil which is set to black and our transform options. I want to select the 1st 1 the rectangle pad, because I want to adjust its size. That's why I showed you that you don't have to be perfectly precise. Let me unlinked it so it won't resize automatically. 2000 pixels off. The wit will be okay. And the height 1 60 Just to get sure it won't be too big and won't be too small now. I opened up the window. I want my align panel to appear once I have that align, I just select to make it perfectly in the middle. Now I can close it with the scroll wheel and I want to place it more on the bottom Just so it covers the bottom bar. Okay, it's here now, by having this shape layer selected Dustin case so I don't have too always manually select this. I place a key frame here. This key frame. We'll just sit here, But later on, if I press on the shape layer, I'll only need to press you to bring this property up else. I'll need to open it goto contents, rectangle, rectangle and to size. That way If you said the key frame, you have it close by. This is just a trick to remember and after effect. Now I can work with the scale off this shapely I process I once again unlinked it and I will work with the scale. Here you see, the anchor point once again messes up, so please go once again toe pen behind to press y on your keyboard and set this anchor point here in the middle part. I'll come closer. I will set it perfectly in the middle like this. All right. And now we can work properly with the scale. Yeah, This is the animation I want to have in this particular design. Go at the beginning, place a key frame on the scale and make it 0% go one second forward or as many you want and place it at 100%. Now what should you have here? And there's one second animation Select key friends Cue from Assistant Eazy E's do this now because we'll copy it seven times to fill out the entire space. Select eventually, the graphic it or to make the animation just a little bit more fancy like this like this And let's preview know our effect. Boom looks really nice. Maybe I want a tiny bit different motion. So it goes faster at first and then it slows down. So I go into the graph editor. I select the key frames, and I wanted to go faster at the beginning at 150% a second and then it's slowly fate at the end. Let's preview it. All right. This is exactly what I wanted to achieve. Since we are done with this part, I can select the shape layer, press p. And now I can work only with the position the second position value. You can press the shift key to make it quicker and now your turn. Select a straight player and copied six times. 123456 So we have seven different layers. Select each layer going to the rectangle tool, and on the fill option, change the color for each shape layer. Once you're ready, select all the other shape layers. Press p one time, so we have the position and you can work with the second value toe Officer them. Let me speed up this process because it will take a bit too long. Shapely or two, Phil. Another color and see you in a brief moment. All right. I'm done with this part. Maybe the corner should be a bit better. So I will select a color scheme in a moment. The last thing you want to do is tow officer them by a few frames. Want to want to? I'll select two frames each. I can zoom in a little bit with this handle to make it easier. Now I see each frame separately. 12 This will be our base for the transition. Well, I see. I got something wrong, So let me quickly adjusted. All right. I adjusted it. This looks a tiny bit better. I went into Adobe Cooler and I will select better colors for this. I'll switch it up and I see you in a moment. This looks so much better. OK, I feel really better now. We are nearly done with the transition. Select all of those layers and press control or command shift. See toe pre compose this composition. You can also right click here and select pre composed. I'll call it stripes. All right, this is the beginning off our transition to make it just a really a little bit more fancy. I press are to open up the rotation toe. Now I'll move it 90 degrees. I take it, I watch what happens. I want to make it a bit smaller. I process. I'll open also up the rotation just in case by holding shift in our I have my scale and I make it smaller so it covers half off the screen. Now I select the stripes press control de to duplicated, and I'll place it on the right side. At this point, we have the same animation, so I need to select the right one, open up its rotation and select negative 90 degrees. This way the transition looks far better now. I need to adjust the scale a little bit because they should be a bit bigger like this to the middle of the screen. So I opened up the scale. I unlinked it. I also do this year and I select 100% also here 100% now. It's a perfectly cover up the screen with this transition. You see, I still should do some tweaking, like moving it right here, moving it right here. So we have one black bar here, and those black marks on left and right aren't so big. You get the idea you need to make this proper. Maybe 100% is too big. 95 95. You should be pixel perfect here. But you don't have to be ill. Place 90. Maybe this is the right amount. It seems so. 90% of the second scale. It's OK. 90 degrees rotation on the 1st 1 Negative 90 on the 2nd 1 on the right side. And this is our finished transition. We used here really a lot off after effects tricks. So I really hope you're fold along if you don't understand something. Why? I did click it or how those to appear here. How to do something. Just ask me a question. I will gladly answer you because I want to make sure that you'll follow along with me on this transitions. Now, you see those calls look really cool. We created a vintage transition. Thank you very much. Very attention. I hope you have your transition finished as well. And let's move forward 7. Transition 4: Brushy: for this transition, we will create a custom brush. We will work with it to create a really simple but fancy animation. The last transition was really hard work. We deserve something lighter on our minds. Let's create our fourth transition with a brush I breast control and, as always, or comment. And if you're on a Mac t four and this doesn't stand for a robot in Terminator, this is just how we name our transitions. T four brushy, simple, clean, brushy. Well, I will create a quick brush. You can create your own or I'll share this file. I will try to make something really simple. Maybe this doesn't look quite as good. I select another brush. This one is really nice. And see how that looks. Yes, this brush should work, so I select it here. I press shift, shift shift. Maybe one more time to fill in the gaps here in the middle. I can't quite get it. Well, seems nice. Seems okay. Well, I will stick with it. Okay, This is a bit stronger. I should fill it here, but this is okay. How we have it. Image crop and I saved this image and use it in after effects. If this won't be good enough, we'll create a new one. That's no problem. I go back into after effects and let me import this file. I double click here and I import the brush. Now I place the brush. It looks fairly okay, we can roll with it. If you want to change its color, just go into the fill effect. Place the full effect here. There are also common other effects like ramp which generate a radiant. If you want to have a Grady int, you have also a forgave radiant. There are different types of Grady ins and the generate effect. If you want to search and check out all of them, you can goto effect generate. And there you have it. I will stay with the simple Phil. Maybe something dark blue Now I don't Something really deep, but not a separated, something less saturated. Okay, a navy blue like this. It's okay by having the brush selected press are and turn it toe 45 degrees. Oh, I actually wanted to go from the left bottom, so I'll go negative 45 degrees and I'll place it here. Maybe this even too much. I select just the rotation toe. You have also a rotation tool here in after effects. And I wrote it into the degree I want. Well, this should be all right. V W to go to the rotation. Okay, this one should be fine. Okay, I pres Wien. I don't like this corner. It should be a bit more around it. But for the sake of this transition, let's stick with it. Maybe making it a bit bigger like this and I place it here Now it's beyond the screen. I press on P to open up the position. I keep hearing the position and I'll work to bring it here into the screen. I go one second forward, maybe even more. One second and 10 frames. I haven't exactly here on the left side and in this position. I want it to cover the screen like that. Now you see in those into the screen I will have toe fill out the screen with those so I make them bigger just in the beginning, so I won't have to make so many copies of them big like this. This is OK now this will be a simple animation. I see I have the position at this point wrong. So by having the play had here, I position it out off the screen and I start to duplicate the brush I duplicated several times. And I officer the different brushes. I'll quickly to select the last brush and start working. You should create something like this depending on how good it will cover the screen. Let's preview it. Oh, they are coming. Hold to the same place so you can eat. Of course. Select everything. Press you. And now you have to work separately to cover the screen. Let me speed up this process. You do not have to cover it 100% perfectly. It needs to be just about right. Cover a bit more. I place it in this position. All right. They cover now the screen. I press control a and to you So I see more. Go a bit forward. Click on the rectangle tool and double click on it. This will create a new shape. I want to after the shape a bit to select this color, I select the film. I grabbed the color all right, and I offset it back to the position it waas By holding the shift key. I can even make it bigger. It doesn't matter now. This shape will not appear until they come in. They come in, it will appear somewhere here. So let me make it closer to this position. Press T toe, open up the opacity and select a key frame. At this point, this rectangle should be visible. Maybe here and at this point, I wanted to slowly fade into the composition. So I make it 0%. Now we want to make it visible again and tune it so it doesn't look artificially. It just fights in into the design. You see, they are coming into the screen and it slowly fades in. Now the gaps are still visible. But once you move forward, that gaps filling automatically. I can adjust this position here to make it a bit better. And I can preview this animation. Well, it's a bit too slow. So once again, you I pressed the tilde key. I repositioned them. I select all of the key frames as usual key frame assistant. Easy East. I take this closer because they will finish here now. So this needs to be a bit quicker. I have the fading completed here now, just to make it a bit more funny. I offered them just a little bit. This one here, This one left, right? Left. Okay, let me preview. Now. What did I achieve? A completely different motion just by staggering it around, working with the key frames, playing around a bit here. And we are done with this transition. This wasn't as hard was. It Will, I could make the brush a bit better. It should be a bit more rounded here, but I think the animation is so swift and quick that it's all right. Yeah, this looks realized, and I'm happy and satisfied with the animation. So we are done with your fourth transition. I hope you see the creative potential here in after effects. Nearly can take any silly image and turned into an interesting motion in after effects. Boom, boom, boom. And we have this transition ready. Thank you very much for your attention and re create your own. Now 8. Transition 5: Middle: at this transition, we will mess with key frames until we have a nice animation like this. Welcome back. Let us create another transition. I'll call it Transition five Middle. This will be a really simple transition, so I'll select the rectangle tool. Select any fill color you'd like. I will stay with the yellow one. Like here I come closer and I make a small rectangle. Police make a rectangle toe about this size. It doesn't matter how big it is. It should be a small Now I need to come closer, select depend behind too. Select the shape layer and make the anchor point exactly in the middle because I'll work with the shape layer. So I want the anchor point to be in the middle because I'll make some adjustment to this rectangle or write direct angle is okay and won't you create direct angle goto line? If you don't see this window, go to window and align and position the rectangle perfectly in the middle just to be sure I opened the title action safe. So I see the middle. Yeah, it is okay. This position is all right by having the shape layer selected press p on your keyboard to open up the position. Now by holding the shift key press s toe open up. Additionally, the scale and shift our toe open as well. The rotation now, before we set any key frames here, grab the second position value and placed a rectangle under the screen so it won't be visible at the beginning. Now I can set key friends want to tree, and I can go. A few friends forward, maybe about 15 friends ate in frame something like this less than one second. But more than health a second. So at this point, I would like this rectangle to go slowly towards the middle and start to rotate. So I will select my position value and the rotation value and I'll place here negative 90 degrees so it will turn around. And the anchor point is very important. If the anchor point would be here, these shifting wouldn't be working because it would rotate towards the anchor point. But since the anchor point is exactly in the middle, it rotates around it. So this key frame will be my rotation. At this point, I also wanted to be in the middle. You see on the title action safe that I'm nearly perfectly in the middle, but I want to slow bounce here in the middle, so don't be so perfect and go a bit above it. Now let's preview demotion. We have it turns and it goes a little bit up. This is perfectly fine now. It will be really simple and fun and eventually if you would like to adjust the scale you have already. Radike Frames either said also a key from here and now we will start to fund I go. 123 France forward. I handling the scale because I wanted to grow to left and grow to the entire screen. So before it gets to the middle to the exact middle position I start to at just the second scale because I wanted to grow left and right so I'll start adjusting the scale. You see a key frame is set automatically and I can go really ham here. There will be no limits because I wanted to grow to the entire screen. Now this would be a too quick motion. Let me go a few friends forward place this key frame here and adjust the scale. As long as I look over the entire screen. If this is too long to you, you can press the shift key. It will get faster. Okay, I will have emotion like that. And I want to adjust the position because we are a bit above the middle. So going here, please set. Also position, key, frame another position, key frame and go a bit towards the bottom. Just so you hit the middle point, you can come closer with the scroll. Well, if you want to be re precise here, you can press the left old key, then goes a bit slower. Okay, I'm perfectly in the middle now. Why did I do this? Because I want a little bit more off motion here once it starts to grow. Boom, boom, boom. It grows going A few friends forward. I don't It also to grow on this axis. Now, please. Preview. What do we have in this motion? I'll now de select the title action side of Great because I want to have clean very in. Well, the animation isn't definitely perfect now, so let me shift this position. Key frame. Maybe it's a bit better, but you need to select everything right, like key frame assistant and at least easy, then to have a slightly better emotion. I think we need a few adjustment because it's a bit abrupt here in the middle. So what can I do? I can reduce the position key for him, so I make it quicker. I think the scale isn't working here together, so I'll maybe go two frames forward. I set us kale key frame and I go back to 100%. So at this point, it isn't scaling. It will go down and then it starts to scale. Maybe like this, this will look a tiny bit better. Well, nearly like that. Also, the line is too heavy. It's simply too big. Let me the select the transparency. This line should be a lot more fragile. And this is why we were working on the transform options we have. Still in our contents are rectangle. We can always go to the rectangle pack and reduce its size. I will funding the size and make it a bit more narrow. Just so it will be a small line like this. This should look a tiny bit better that be previewed the animation. Once I make this smaller, this percentage isn't enough to cover up the screen. That's no problem. I can grab it now. I can make it even 20 or 30,000%. And now the animation would be ready. Let me turn on the transparency. Previewed animation. Close everything down to have clearness this key frame. It was supposed to be covering the entire screen. So I also have to adjust this one. And now we are finally ready. So we see some little problems arise. But this is normal while working in after effects and with motion graphics. Now we finally completed our animation. The transition is very simple, but in a video this looks really cool to transition like that we have our fifth transition completed. 9. GIF / Screenshot your work: Hello. If you went through the lessons and finish the work, I would like to ask you to add a product inside of skill. Usher. It's very simple. Once you are in the Class two skit, start project type of name, choose the time male and upload a screenshot either off your work or off you after effects interface. I think I don't have to teach you how to make a screenshot. You can even make a screenshot here inside of after effects, so I will see how you made those layers what's inside here. If you would like to, however, make a screenshot off off the actual frame. You can do this a few ways. For example, you go to the right position like here you go composition se frame as and you click safe as file. This will add a Photoshopped fight to Orender. Q. You're gonna click on the photo shop and just change it to PNG or Jay Peak sequins. I'll change the P and G okay, and this will render already file. You can upload to skill Usher. Other race of doing is it's placing it in the right position and trimming the work area there were area is here. I press b and and this will trim it toe one frame. If you added to the render queue, you can as well render this S and P and G and little render one file. I'm really looking forward to what you have prepared what colors you used, how you set up the layers and overall how the workers for you. So I'm looking forward to seeing your project inside of the class here. 10. What comes in PART 2? + Thank You!: Okay. You arrived at the end off the first step. You designed the transitions. If you had any trouble, you can download the project files and work on these now, What will come next? Soon I will release parts two of this class where I will teach you how to add color control layers which will allow you to click on them. Click here and change the color off all elements inside of the design. I will teach you how to design several reveals for the animation. The animation's will play, and then they will reveal itself. I'll also teach you how to reveal one video with another view, how to add those transitions, insider videos and how to make a template off this entire composition. So you see so many essential aftereffect practices. That's why I divided this class in tow Part one and part two. Now, if you have finished the first part of this class I know I'm always asking for this, but it really helps me please go inside the class. Click here and select. Leave a review. You can submit it like this just by submitting review. Or you can write something here or even private feedback. If you want the skill from team to know about something, then you click. Submit, review and that's everything. Thank you very much for taking part in the first part off this class. Soon we'll continue with the second part. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, Thank you very much and see you soon.
