1. Introduction + Materials: All right, Welcome, Welcome to the course. This is Josh CEO. I'm your teacher today on abstract painting with the chakras in mind. I'm going to take you to a very easy to follow process that gets you to make a piece of art that's attractive for the human eye. Essentially, we're using color theory as a guide for us to move ourselves to a particular emotional experience. If you notice, there are colors that are associated with calm, blues and greens, and the other colors associated with passionate, angular, like reds and maybe like uncertainty like oranges and yellows may take you through a very easy to follow a process that gives you a little bit about abstract painting. In the meantime, we're going to pick specific colors that allows us to feel a certain way. In my previous course, I just taught you basic design principles and moving through like a five-step process for you to understand how to attract art. This course is also very easy to follow. What's different is that now we're focusing or taken ourselves to a very specific emotional journey. The materials for this course also very easy for you to acquire, even need to get student Canvas, gallery Canvas or canvas panel. We're using acrylic paints for this course. But if you have your own oil tanks or near the kinds, that's totally fine. Brushes, a table on easel to paint on masking tape. And the ultimate, the number one tool that you need is a Hollywood. You can actually google the color, we'll have it on a screen, prints it out. It's up to you. It's very easy to acquire. This class is designed for beginners and intermediate painters. If you have no experience with art or painting, this class is actually perfect for you. When you're ready, gather your materials, and move on to the next video and start the course.
2. Doodle Exercise | An intro to Lines: Alright, so I hope you've gathered your materials. Guess what if you haven't, it's okay. Grab a pencil or pen, grab some type of writing utensil, and let's do a little bit of doodling right now in abstract art, became kinda do anything. So we're really working with spatial realities, spaces, lines, shapes, colors, these things that are very simple, but you can attribute meaning to it and put a little bit of emotional or feeling a vibe, if you will. Because he's posted notes, you can use composition paper. Doesn't matter because this is not your final thing. We're just going to get started and get a little exercise going. Just start doodling and I'll start talking. So a couple of things about lines. They are vertical lines, horizontal lines, diagonal lines, jagged lines, curvy lines, circular lines are so many kinds of lines you can draw. Lines that you have drawn is lighter lines that you see. Actually, I was gonna say their lines in nature it guess what? There are none. Or you can use each one of these to convey a particular emotion. Think about when you see a jagged line drawn in a particular way, what you might feel when you see somebody laying down. What does that communicate to us? It's my standing upright body language. What does that communicate to you? So I'm gonna give you a quick synopsis of some ideas of how lines can be used.
3. Line Psychology: Mind you, this is not a rule for you to say this is the way you have to do it. We all experience emotions, we all experienced things in different ways. So what I say might come off accurate or maybe just within the range of what you think or how you feel about this. But let's go over. So vertical lines, vertical lines up and down, usually standing upright, you're more alert. Think about the fact that buildings are really tall, skyscrapers a really tall anything that's a straight line going up, you typically would travel up or travel down, get to it. So you can be depressed or you could be excited and happy. One of the two. Another thing about vertical line, if you think about churches, a little art history thing for you. Here we're thinking about you thought about how like stuffs like really tall, like it's really far up fee to see. You thought about that and how you have to look up to the sky and everyone looks up at God and Jesus, deities. It's associated with this idea of hierarchy and power. So vertical lines are typically used for that. Also thinking about line, the line of symmetry that you see when, whenever anybody talks about symmetry, typically the first line of symmetry somebody draws is straight down in the middle of a vertical line. Now it could be drawn like that. But just think about lookup symmetry. Usually see this first and also think about the fact that people who are typically more symmetrical or seen as attractive. Do you think of things that are like the idea of perfection, which doesn't exist. There are no straight lines in nature, right? The real world isn't like that, but we implement somebody's ideals with just one type of a line, usually a vertical one. Horizontal lines, usually a little bit more relaxed how I even the playing field, horizontal ones and typically more harmonious, more relaxed, more PID of being laid back. The line starts to fall diagonally, but towards the idea of being horizontal, much less vertical, right? So horizontal lines typically are dealing with the ideas of relaxation, harmonisation, those type survives. Diagonal lines usually give you a sense of energy. You think about stairs, escalators, those move in a diagonal format. If you think of somebody running when you're running, and I'm gonna give you an example. When you're running, you don't use, you just run like this. It's not even possible you have to lean forward and be diagonal to give yourself the opportunity to be propelled in a particular direction. Diagonal lines give you some form of energy. Mind you these are just 1, 2, 3 lines. Now in combination, if you have a bunch of diagonal lines going boop, boop, boop, boop. You think of like waves are jagged lines or the knife edge rigidity, if it's a sharp edge, not a rounded it, I think about erratic behavior or being nervous or things like that usually goes a jagged edge, diagonal lines. In succession. Things can communicate emotional responses that you're having or where you are. Maybe how you want to communicate, how you feeling. I'll add some stuff written down about that charge movement. And he actually, human interests is usually sustained longer with diagonal lines, then with three levels. Think about it. A straight line and a horizontal line by themselves can be a little bit boring, but a diagonal I mentioned go circular, circular lines. Captivating It's like a wild ride. Curved lines take you on a journey if you will, right? It's almost infinite loop because I just don't know where you're going to go necessarily, but journeys, usually creativity is associated with the ideas of herms. Circular motions, analytical lines uses a straight and rigid from point-to-point point. And of course with curve. Because you know, if, if it's a line that goes like this is more of, I guess a harmonious wave because there's a little bit of it, there's a gradual change that like a harsh change. But if you go into flow, we lines the idea of just flowing, not diagonals, which is flowing anywhere. That exacerbates that, that, that makes the idea of the journey a lot stronger. There's a lot more flow, there's a lot more interests there. A longer attention span needed to stay on that journey. I'll be been dueling and trying a lot of these lines. Try and think about emotional states and how you can communicate each one of those with a particular kind of line or a combination of lines. Maybe you journey from one feeling to another feeling. You see that diagonal that I just did, right? You can move through space from one line and end up with a different kind of align. With posted notes. You can have like smaller options for you just play here and there. If it's a bigger piece of paper, you can try and create an entire journey, but it's up to you how you want to do it really, I'm just giving you some options. So with that being said, I hope then doodling. But if you have not grab a writing utensil, grab paper, posted, know something. I've drawn an experiment with these different line types that we've talked about to get some more information on what I'm saying. You could just Google line psychology is some YouTube videos as articles is lot information out on the psychology and emotions behind different kinds of lines. For me, she come back to the course, open an, open another tab or something, but we're still here and move on to the next video.
4. Charkras + Color Theory: Alright, now let's talk a little bit about color theory and color harmonies and how they relate to the chocolate is, if you look at the transfer systems, will Google chocolates. And you'll find one of these images. You'll notice that a color is associated with each energy center relative to the grounding center. That's like your primal instincts and your ability to create is associated with your sacred choco. Orange sexual energy to create relates to other yellow round about your ability to do an effect change and make things happen for yourself. That is the solar plexus. Love, you think love is red. No, love is usually associated with green, your heart chakra, your ability to give out that love, vibration, the ability to communicate throat chapter, we have a darker blue for your third eye and then your crown chakra is connected to the people in the infinite purple. Now if we go to color theory, red is usually associated with love, passion, orange associated creativity. There's a lot of overlaps here. Hello facility, caution at times been associated with peace and serenity to sell well, and I guess into peace and serenity versus loved, just being about passion. Sometimes we get into a very possessive, obsessive state. Dealing with very primal instincts isn't necessarily well if blue is usually deal with dealing with communication also serine, also more calm and get into purple. As you start moving into properly, you start hearing things related to a royalty is that these things are sometimes connected to a material nature as well. For instance, the fabric purple was very hard to come by, its very difficult to make. Therefore, only the people who could afford it and have purple like royalty. That's a little bit about how they correlate. Let's get into harmonies. They're already delivered the column with the kinda goes into the same order. It starts with red, it goes to orange and yellow, then green, then blue and purple, and it goes back to red. I don't think that that's necessarily a coincidence. You look at it, you see the correlation is as obviously the same order. They are harmonies associated with peace, tranquility, or what have you, your ability to love and communicate? Greens, blues, the ability to create your primal energy, instinctually ability to do to incite action. That's all associated with the harmonies of yellow, orange, and red. So then we have the idea of contrast in colors. We take the column will pick a color and you go directly across the color wheel, you'll see another color obviously, and that's its complement, or contrast and color. Now, I would like you to pick a color harmony num three colors DO DO further, but remember they are to harmonize and fit within a certain range of what you're trying to do. That can get really complicated. So usually I will tell you to pick two colors that are really close to each other. And then one that's far apart. Start with how you feel that you really want to communicate. Payment color that works with that. Times. There will also help communicate that MAY putting in another contrasting, complementary colors imbalance yourself up. But remember this is all your choice that you never know what might come out and kind of start seeing yourself a little bit sometimes maybe you just let it out and someone else sees it. And it becomes a conversation between yourself and yourself, or yourself and other viewers have however you want to present your work. But remember, this is all about you. Take a dime, make a couple of choices. Move on to the next video.
5. Guided Meditation: So I just went over a lot of information. My hair's different, shapes, different now. But nevermind that could be alive. Now I'm asking you to pain, ask you to do and learn a bunch of chakra points and colors and JD, how to do color harmonies and stuff. So the main point of all this is for you to be able to do a bit of a meditative practice through abstract art. So now that you got all the information, Hammond tuba, and hopefully it wasn't too much, too fast, just in case it was. Let's take a moment and do a little guided meditation. So I'm going to ask you to sit somewhere. We show you see all your bomb is grounded, firmly. Press harder on, on the ground, but make sure they're stable. Solid matters. A little bit of firmness in the lower abdomen if the candle flex and they're hard to keep yourself upright. And you're going to agree then five seconds in five seconds you possibly can, as long as possible. If you can do more 1015. Cool. At least I'm asking for five seconds in one Mississippi, two, Mississippi, three, Mississippi four, Mississippi phi, N out in. Continue on your own count because obviously has stopped counting. And what we're gonna do is let all that information kinda washed through your brain like waves in the ocean or when subtly blowing. Close your eyes. Daimyo. Halfway crazy. Take the time to appreciate the moment. You can be sitting in your chair, you could be sitting with her legs crossed. The whole point is to take a moment. All the model. We're sharing this moment together. Even still, this is your moment. And there's always going to be more. Each breath in. And now. What do you want? But do you feel? Keep breathing though. So don't let that question disturb that rhythm that she created. And let these thoughts and the information I gave relative to what you thinking about doing next. Even if it's not painting. Right now. Let that jazz was through ads, through just like the breath in. And take a few more breaths. I'll leave it be for a little bit. It didn't have the cashflow. Now, this as an exercise, this is coming back open euro. Keep your breathing as rhythmic as you possibly can, because this is something that you want to keep Azure just living life. Welcome back. Take this moment. Use this as an example for how you are going to create your expressive piece of art. Hopefully, the sun was okay. Hopefully you heard me. Okay. Hopefully you have a wonderful time creating your own piece of art and know when to stop not breathing via the best art. Sometimes you can sense the kind of feel the, the endpoint and that breath helps you get a sense for that. Right. Move onto the next video. I hope you have a good time creating a piece of art. Make sure you post it and tag me GYE SiO everywhere. Twitter. Mr. Garcia, and see you later.
6. Painting Tips // Instructions: So by now you should at least have a decent idea of what colors you're going to use. And you should have played a little bit with the lions and have an idea of what kinda lines are going to work with. I hope that you've also gotten some of your materials together, if not all of them, because it's time to paint. Here are your instructions. I got it written down, so yeah. Shoes or Mexico colors and begin to lynchings, but the lines are close you decided to work with, depending on your medium which the material allow your paint to dry in-between your painting session. Unless you want them to mix, which is as well, clean your brush with a cup of water or brush soap if you have it and use a rag or a paper towel, Bounty, whatever brand you want to use to test the brush to make sure that there's no paint still left if the color you're using is not as vibrant or opaque as you would like it to be. Paint in multiple layers, letting them dry in between. Or you could use white or a very light gray as a base. Take breaks. Set timers. I love setting timers. You don't want to rush this process. Pace yourself, set aside a couple of hours, maybe an hour or maybe It's whatever the time frame is. But use timers, take bricks, place and fun music, or stay in silence. Whatever helps you meditate. This is a big one. I wrote this one down. Take webcams. This is not perfection. This is expression, is also not a onetime thing. Try at least three different paintings. You'd have the same style, or three completely different paintings, totally up to you. But do more than one. Thanks for watching and once to the next video. And let's paint together.
7. Follow Along Demo #1: All right, So as soon you've gathered your materials, I'm going to go through the process of making sure show you how this is going to work out heavy canvas pad or Canvas or whenever ready at your table, ready to work. I'm going to do a couple of different versions of a painting. Focus on different chakras, different colors, different things that I want to manifest in my own life. And you're going to see how I do it. One thing I want to add is that this is just my way. It is an example. This is very specific to me and an idea of where you might want to use me as kind of a reference just to give you some inspiration. Remember your choices are yours and yours alone. So you can create your own piece and think about where you want to go, where you want to manifest. I went and got some masking tape, some other pieces that I've done before. We're on like a piece of paper. Though, Osaka multipurpose watercolor paper. And what I did on those is created the extra border for myself. You don't have to do this. But just in case you like that kind of extra space around. And sometimes that's great for framing as well. Cuz it elaborates. The synesthetic thing is totally an aesthetic thing. You don't have to do it that way. Because when it comes a friendly, you can put it without a mad, even just have backing. And if you do have mad, then you can come into it. For when I when I say Matt, in regards to framing, it's pretty much doing exactly what the tape is doing, which is cutting in at a certain amount. Sometimes it gets so annoying sometimes to think about matting that I just don't even worry about it. And I just took the piece with some type of like fracking colored papers and type of backing like that. But it's up to you. It's totally up to you. Totally up to you. All right, so remember I said you can go ahead and Google a color wheel. Well, here's my color wheel. I'll Google it and I save the image on a phone. You can print it out for yourself. It's cool however you wanna do it. And it has some other images of the chopper is that I've got. So you can also Google that doesn't cost you anything to do it for me. I definitely want to focus on some love and healing. Our manifests and London healing and wisdom and power. And I want to communicate so I think I'm going to hang around with blue, green, and yellow. And just for good measure, I'm going to now focus, but I'm going to have a little bit of creativity in there. Look at other pictures. We go into. Sensuality, sexuality, pleasure, sociability, orange, strength, personality, power, determination, and love, Acceptance, Facility, communication, expression, creativity. So these are things that I want to work on and I want to manifest, continue to manifest in my life now, at least right now. And the rest is not my focus right now. So let me grab my colors. The green that I have is more of like a tube. And the yellow that I have his own. That's mirror known as black, actually Payne's gray. This is a little bit of a weaker yellow. In terms of value. You have lights and darks as a big CROs use the, um, I have to bias and paint yarn. This is talking about paint brands. Brand of paint doesn't matter by the way, especially for this course. This is like a beginner slash intermediate course. Should not matter. I'm really realizing how little yellow I have. This is a really great green. But I'm barely use a warmer blues or as yellow. Boom, that brand is not that great. I guess brand does matter if it's bad. I need a blue donut. There we go. As I was shooting. Boom. There we go. Hopefully you've taken my course in abstract painting or abstract art. You haven't. I recommend you do, sir. I brought a cup from tropical smooth cafe, so you just need a cup to have water and for your paints. You need a palette knife or a regular old knife. A plastic knife is what I would say. Another regular metal knife unless you're willing to throw that away. Or it is specifically used for pain alone, do not be referencing use there for food thereafter. What we're going to do for the time being, the first color pointed out or the first chakra that I mentioned was green, which was for love and healing. So bong, green baby. That's going to be my base because that's where I'm at. So I'm trying to do so I'm trying to manifest. I mean, he's a big brush. Sometimes it's good to put to purchasing upon break up the stiffness. If this is your first time using these your brushes probably don't have any type of problem. So my base and focus on love and healing. I make curved or circular marks. Ama personnel hexagon journeys anyway, so and I liked this texture. Mind you, this is early pre-emptive stuff. So even everything I'm doing right now might go away. If I like it, it might stay, but we'll see, I don't 100 percent know exactly what I'm gonna do. Because this is an abstract painting process of using Lewis is nice. This is next sentence. Tell me, I want to try different things in this demo. So I'm going to put. And thick, straight lines that could be vehicle, could be horizontal depends on how I orient the painting after this is done. I don't really fully decided that as a straight lines versus curved lines. This is what I'm thinking about here. And things like these. I would recommend mixing it up just as a general painting to make things. And M also, you cannot do what I'm suggesting and keep it all curvy. This is still my choice. You have options like this texture 2. Cu. If you're a creative person, you may be able to build a narrative around these things as you're doing it. If you're a personalised, that can build a narrative Azure making. That's great. If not, that's cool too. Just a process. Whatever is your thing, Do your thing. Feeling. So to clean your brushes, you gotta get them wet, just like you would wash your hands. Use water. Sally, we don't have anything like a soap that I could recommend to you right now. So it's really about using as much water, getting the pressures dilute is possible. Squeeze it out. And you know, of course you dry it as you would dry your hands. For my other hand, I thought this hand didn't have paint on it, but the whole brush and paint. Obviously painting is a messy process at times. So you'd want to keep a rag or paper towel handy? Usually I have arrived with me, but today I have a paper towel. I said there's a lot of paint is another thing about painting is you want to think about the fact that it's wet. If you're painting in layers. Dry time is important. Acrylic is a type of paint that dries fast. So that's why I recommend acrylic paint for this course. If you have to do things in layers, what you want to do things in layers. If you want to mix things in the meantime, that's totally fine. It creates a different effect. So for instance, if I kept going, if you notice how like the colors we're mixing when I was moving, right? If, if if I were to kept mixing in more colors, the yellows, blues, it would cause would have kept mixing because it's wet. Of course, if you have like juice, you know everything about like other liquids that you deal with, like juice and sauce and these things, if you keep mixing there, you're just going to mix, right? Keep moving them together. They're going to keep mixing. But if you allow one to dry and you put one on top, then there's a layering effect versus continuously mixing. So take breaks. I'm going to take a break, come back to this, let it dry for a little bit. Let's focus on the next color that yellow there. So this is my determination. The ability to do things, get things done. As we saw, right? This is my strength, personality, power, determination, wisdom, power. And I do. This is where I would want to use some stronger, thicker lines and structural, Structural of lnx is the way I think about a structure when it comes to mark making, the song talks about is you need to, I would say either vertical or horizontal lines, either or. So what I'm gonna do And, and I'm going to do, let me do this, do that like that. Don't need to be really strong and thick out there. I don't really need for it to be too crazy or MOOC if it mixes with the green a little bit. Hills, not from a paint material standpoint, yellows. Now what are these funny enough, the yellow is not the strongest colors as one of the week is pigments I've ever dealt with when it comes to painting. Hello. It's funny that from a chakra perspective, it's associated with determination and willpower, strength. Just kinda funny. And hear you talk about being yellow Tail and stuff so far. Find that also very interesting. I don't know how really want to wanted to preparation, but when you make a little bit of curve here, one thing that I tend to do is when I make those curvy lines like to follow along with those marks in those textures. But I wanted to make these lines a bit stiffer. I think I'm going to have to go over this a couple times because one, yellows not that strong of a pigment. And two, I wanted to be thicker, bolder. Maybe in terms of mindfulness, I could have put made sure there was space, negative space for white to shine through. So that we just put some yellow on top. And I have to do this type of process. So I'm also going to do is see if I can make those lines kinda sharp. Doesn't really strengthen determination doesn't have the outset. I wouldn't say it needs to be a straight line. Unnecessarily bold. But once again, that's my perspective. In gotta be yours. My Sheila, go with your smaller brush now because what I'm noticing is that the areas where I want to make the corners of the globe has a little bit more precision. So when it's time to change. A little darker. So I'm gonna turn this light on. Now, when you're, before you start a piece. In this course, you can do affirmations that crystals, if you're into spiritually or with special tools, that's totally fine. All right. If anything in my aid in your process, it might be guided. But that's where I'm not too well-versed, so I can tell you what to do There. He is, yeah, dried and end of so weak. Weak. As yellow tends to be. We strengthen it with the drying and the layering. Speak in a drying and 0, 0 picked up some green by accident, a lapel. Oops. Doesn't mess me up too much. Now when it comes to like wetness and dryness is very important to think about the fact that even the water itself would dilute your paint because it's not your paint. Right? So you paint itself is wet. But if your brush is wet, paint already has a certain level of consistency. While its own add anything to it is going to change it a bit, especially for something like clear like water or any other color. So usually a dry brush is to mix up your paint and applies it. So when you're cleaning, you want to think about drying your brush, or at least getting into a place where you feel like you won't be too much of a problem that pick up the paint. Perfectly like a nice border on that side will be perfect. So uranium using a border where mass things off to create a sharp edge. You call it a line. Another line because you see when I take the tape off, how different is going to be or how it's going to turn out, oops, years, or sometimes it's just the brand because this Winsor Newton yellow is a lot shorter than the artist's lofts. Yellow. So I just off the top my head. Winsor Newton Liquitex, golden. And yeah, those three pretty much the best that I've ever dealt with. In terms of consistency, thickness, opacity, strength, and vibrancy? Yeah. Icu for the yellows built up enough for me to say it's done its job. Move on to the blue. Then bits of orange in there. Finally, funny, I only have one to be blue. It is what it is that a biosimilar. But luckily it's a powerful blue. I'm after definitely by Winsor Newton blues because this one has lasted through a lot of paintings. Even though I'm looking at the fact that there's 12, I just remembered that I've had this one too for a couple years now. So testament to Winsor Newton. Good job. So with the blue at what I'm thinking about, going back to the chakras. I like the fact that if you look blue and green, love and healing and communication, they're right next to each other. So I actually think I'm going to blend the blue in with the green base. You see I'm using the palette knife. If you have a palette knife, this is great. Maybe your plastic knife can work like this too. So this is another way that you can apply pain. Slow, simpler. The reason why I'm doing it this way, because I'm not trying to be precise. Usually brushes are for precise mark-making, even wide brushes. But other tools like palette knives gains a Styx. The less precision tools will allow you to be more vague with your actions. Which is what I'm trying to do, trying to just blend that thing in there that moves really strong. And I should have paid attention to what I said because now it's overpowering the green. I'm Matthew, go back and put that in there and put more green in there. But it is where it is. I'm just going to limit how far spread this blue. And you know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna take some paint off of the canvas. By dabbing. This is not a dance. By dabbing. Paper towel or your rag. Whatever you're using to dry brushes. If it's dry, because remember, use paint or you can use a fresh one to take some paint off. The surface to pick it up because it won't. But now, anyway, so as you notice, I'm doing the same movements, probably even more and movements that are doing before and is less blue to blend, right? Because I've picked up some of the paint to get off of the surface. Mr. brushes a little drier. So all these things come into play. The elements of painting. Some things that are paying attention to now. A little bit of blue gap over here in the top and then top corner in the negative space. And I noticed that I don't like that. I don't want the blue to just blend in with the green. I don't want the blue to stand on its own because when it comes to love, healing and communication, I feel like that's the way I want to use energy. I want to communicate, love and healing energy. Well, my communication to work in that way and mind you. You could put blue and yellow together and you get communicate with a sense of determination and strength of character. As a different way you could do it. Once again, this is my way for this painting. What I'm looking to manifest. You do it your way out or as you want. I'm not in your brain and not your soul when you Spirit you are. That's interesting. Looking at where the blue just crossed over the yellow, how it changed. It was interesting unnecessarily on a spiritual level, but I'm just saying, just let him a moment, a moment in time. Isn't that a movie? Tv shows, Ammonia or book? I feel like I need to dab a little bit of blue here and there. But I think I did set out to do I'm going to dry this and put a little bit of green back in there. And certainly spots. Mind you. I mean, who says that this painting will communicate exactly what I'm trying to do in terms of somebody just looking at it, maybe it will, maybe it won't. But as about the process and your intention as you're making this thing happen. Meditation Yao. And you can reflect on this and tell that story to people. If they ask you about the work, you reflect on it for yourself and remember the process. Maybe go through another experience within different painting. And another thing to remember is that it's okay if you don't repeat the exact same process in the exact same way, this is abstract number one and number two, you are a human, you will never do anything the exact same way every time. You're constantly unfolding. Just like to only verse cool, dry time. So pretty much I decided to end it off like this for a couple of reasons. I like the way it looks dry and just use a blow dryer, hair dryer. I like it. I like the blue tones if it's a nicely actually didn't overtake the green is much. I'm glad I pulled some of the pigment out with the good ol bounty is not bouncy but paper towel. And I'm glad I did what I needed to do with the yellow, like it a lot. And I think adding an orange, I wanted to add orange and just because it's like Mossbauer color, like orange as my vibe. Obviously, if you look into the meanings behind the Seiko Chopra and what it means is very much in my lane. But my real focus was here using these colors and focusing on those energy centers. And that's primarily what I wanted to manifests. And I think you heard me say try to those more engineering skills. So let's actually take the tape off and see what it looks like. Bombed in the zoo. This is where maybe I would have painted in the border. The more, but absolutely not. I like this and this is y. So remember I said earlier I've once your housing oriented because of either had the lines be vertical or horizontal, and I actually am torn right now. Man, is something you should do to play with the orientation. See what works. While this kind of like a face that's pretty dope. That's pretty do a Mikey be like this just because it looks like a face. Wow, that's kind of crazy. How that that's crazy. That's crazy. That's crazy. So initially I painted it like this. I mean, So I like the fact that the border here is over on the side and this kind of a limiter for you read from right to left. Anybody who is in another country orientation might end up looking like this for us because they would start on the other side. Now you will do your own thing. You might disagree with me, but I would like it like this. And I also like it like that. What about that? Not as strong, not as strong as the weakest.
8. Follow Along Demo #2: This painting, I'm focused on four different sharper points and I wanted to make sure that I feel safe in EFL confronted in my movement. I'm going to try some new things today. So I want to make sure I manifest using that truck. Appoint the energy center, also the solar plexus truck or for strength. Power determination also relates to that for me. So that's what I'm going to focus on, yellow in red. And then as life goes on right now, I'm getting a new job and focus on my finances where I'm going to hit her life. So I want to make sure my intuition, third eye and my crown chakra or bear my knowledge fulfillment, intuition of acidity, my meditation, because I've been in a meditational state, especially during this week. And I want to make sure our manifest in the right direction. So at least from a culture perspective that's going to be focused. And now let's think about mark-making as relates to these ideals. So instead of just jumping into painting this time, I'm going to focus on figuring out how I'm going to make these marks. Talked about vertical lines. Horizontal lines, curved lines, different lines, different kinds of mark making a y that's going to have an effect on our work. My painting is rectangular in shape. Now usually I don't align myself with a particular orientation when I'm working abstractly. But for the sake of this one painting, I'm gonna do that for you. So when it comes to red, I'm just going to remember or I can label it later on when it comes to that stability in power that I need or that that safety that I need to be able to do what I need to do. I think I'm gonna make that my base color. And I personally just like curvy wavy lines anyway, it's just my my personal verb. So something along those lines as long the work and when it comes to my ability to do my determination, I'm going to try and make them very slim, diagonal lines and forward them to you in different directions or not. But let's do that. Because when it comes to the tricking my movement style, I kind of bounce around. And I think something along those lines, no pun intended is where I'm gonna go. So maybe something where, you know, like if anybody watches enemy, what is, he's sometimes you have characters that bounce all around really fast. So something along those lines. Sometimes and maybe I don't have to be as as jag it, maybe I can be really fluid. You see each iteration I'm being a little bit different, trying something new. Each one looks different and I could copy offer there or I can follow the same. Maybe. Pattern, try a different pattern. Let's see if I hit from different. I like that. So that's going to be my yellow. That's going to be my red piece. And when it comes to the others are thinking I'm going to figure it out. But funny enough, because those are by intuition and communication and intelligence. So yeah, into a intuition intelligence and just knowing, funny that I'm choosing to do that with those colors, just instinctually. The only verse, how funny is it? Don't forget that when it comes to your paint. And she got to have that palette. You can use pieces of word Styrofoam plate. You can use many different things to kind of get you go in. Don't forget your palette knife or your plastic knife. Is that the cal mix your paint a little bit. I just bought a new read from Winsor Newton. So this is a large area. Hello, just dab, dab a little bit of water, sudden diluted. Safety, stability. As I change my mind, it's okay. You can change your mind to the twins. Emilia, a goal and fan, but it's also great. So the reason why I'm Susan is this thick horizontal line is because I'm thinking about the idea of having a strong foundation. You can, you can say the idea of building blocks come to mind. The foundation of a house. Bees in buildings through all like long thick rectangular shapes. And plus it being read. Forward thinking about as much voice. Question is how the yellow gonna be interacting with that red? I'm not going to think too much about it. So what was that? I'm going to put the purple and the blue as a very loose bad. So my red base is providing you the support. I mean, even if it's put in a vertical orientation is still something to be viable. So when it comes to my movement style, like I said, a move around a lot, but the security that comes from the red is important. So this, no matter where orientation is going to work, because I literally, like I said, bounce, I said vibe off of stuff. And they're resonating because wherever surface on, jumping off of a vibe, off of that surface, but I also move in different directions from one leg to another, upside down, vertical, spinning, different orientations. So this base, this foundational base doesn't have to be horizontal, right? A lot of times our job, so it can be vertical. So this works what I'm doing for you. It might need to be in a particular orientation. Just purple though. Remember, fulfill and spirituality, understanding. And I want that to move with the. So what I'm gonna do is give myself somewhat of a base, but I wanted to be a little full, wanted come from different different directions. So you see, I do want these to be a bit thicker because I wanted the yellow to be very thin, very fast. So below instinctual with the flow of these lines, something that you can take from me, from my training is that line thickness is very important. Moving from thick to thin. Typically where energy gathers. I'm putting a thicker line where energy dissipates or put a thinner line in that works for the Shani do and for my meditation into lucidity, the trust as yet definitely going to be decided for a blue. I'm testing the paint before I put it on a little later, taken some of the pigment off of the brush that works, I'll have to give some weight to make it lighter, but it's cool. I wanted to kind of be almost like an aura around these things. I'll put a little bit too much earlier in that spot, but it works it'll work out. Picked up. Some purpose. I like I this is panning out. This is great. If you notice I'm building it and I'm building my decisions based on the parameters that I gave you. If you understand what lines communicate and you match that with the colors that are based on the chart. For this, you're more or less manipulating. He can say spiritual matter or mental matters, or it's a process in which you have an idea of the functions behind things and you move them towards your desired goal, your desires, your wants, your interests, right? All these things. And you want to connect these. So the BU definitely needs to touch the red. It's funny how that's creating like a shadow, which makes it more like a three-dimensional block, which I'm okay with. If you were if you did this anywhere okay with it, then you'd have to go back and put read over it. But I'm okay with that. Yeah. Now, what I wanna do is like now a little bit, see if I can take some pigment off in maybe distributed. Funny thing which is nice as that has given me a nice little texture, which I'm cool. Remember this is not about being a super pro iris, this is about giving yourself a process that's fairly meditative. And allies also manifests through the process of creating abstract art with intention. And this is just a piece to remind yourself of what you're looking to manifest. Okay. So I'm going to take another break. I'm going to let this dry. If you know from the last painting I did, I was complaining by yellow usually weak. And I talked a little bit about golden and how golden might have a 0 that's strong. And I went to the store and I bought some Golan that had a fairly opaque yellows. Hopefully I don't have to put too many layers on here, especially because of the type of line, the type of mark I wanted to make with this yellow. So I took this reg and a dabbed on a little bit blue and our wet it a little bit and use it to make some marks as well. Because I realize I wanted to add a little bit more of that blue base for when I put the yellow. If finally at the yellow, too much yellow. We're going to do this exactly the way a plan. There's a game is blue and other child where we draw maize. And then we would take a pencil and set it up like this the way I would set this up. And I'm like shoot across students omegas. Now it would be a little bit different because pencil strong. Brush is a little weaker, but see if I can at least push it in a direction. It may not go exactly. But a mature at this idea. I think we'd have an idea. But I'm trying to memory so the game would go where like the, say this is the path on the maze and I would try and like slingshot, the point in the direction. Spin and we try and do that here. So let's actually go over those now. I was 22 and I think I hit exactly what I want. I'm I have to go over this yellow a little bit. Is exactly what I wanted to be doing. And I'm ECM start earlier just to kinda been a little bit.
9. Recap, Review, and Farewell: As an artist review what you've actually done. Take the time to take pictures or scans of all your doodles, as well as the finished painting. Upload it into the class so I can see it. And the other people who have taken the class can see what you've done. And I'd like you to answer a couple questions. Why did you choose those colors? We went over the fact that each color represents a certain mood or emotion or relates to a chocolate or a release to a shocker plan the body. So I've made a very intentional decisions. So let us know what that was, what you phosphor behind it, what you're looking to psychologically manifest, especially manifests through those choices. That was, how did you express yourself? Like? Yes, the colors are one thing, but then we talked about lines and horizontal, vertical, all these different types of lines and hiking combine them to give a certain vibe emotion, what have you. So let us know. In general, not only that but your brushstrokes maybe put some paint splatters or maybe you didn't know you could put plain paints better. Maybe they know you could put paint splatters. So these are things that you could have done to express yourself, right? How did you do the exam? Curious, what was the most challenging part of the entire process? We all have different challenges. Sometimes for me it's about knowing when to stop. I've worked on my own challenges and have developed my practice a little bit so that I found to have an idea of where my challenges lie and I've worked on those. So when you go to another painting, you can lie. Okay, So this is where I had the most problems and you can kind of strategize around. But I'm also curious. What was it like? What about this came national team. We all can pick colors real quick. Somebody I have no problem doing, right? Some of you are just going to, the whole thing is going to be easy somehow. The whole thing's any weird and new team, some very curious. Whereas the painting going, why is this going to be a wall in your living space? Unique gifts to somebody. Using a foot in like a mock somewhere or you throw it away. Like most was going to happen to this painting. Are you going to frame it? There is another course that I want to make around framing your work, because right now this would be the second course around physical pieces of art. So I think it's very important to get into that. Framing is the whole thing. So I think I'll just do it as a separate course. What's next? I'm gonna try this again. Are you going to do another painting? I recommend trying out my other course, which is a lot easier. It's a quick exercise. It might even give you a foundation for what's happening in this course. So if you find that, maybe you're not ready to try this stuff out. Try my previous course, which you can use using crayons, colored pencils, all that stuff. It's way easier and a half people who've already done work and upload it and you can see what's happening there. And maybe bring that back to this course in an ad that goes. But what's next? So yeah, I'm really interested in seeing your work and what ideas have come up with what your experiences like. I also recommend tagging me at GYN or just use the RP that or have a personal account. But you can still tag me at either or upload to Instagram when you upload to YouTube, if you're going to make a video about this, or even Facebook, you can find me at GYE SiO. You can find me on there. You'll find me and tag me on social media platforms, twitter though as Mr. do ISIL's flow different. I'll have all listed here obviously for you to see and upload em, tag me so I can see it to give some recognition. Share your work and maybe I'll be able to engage with you. Really want to know obviously to all these questions and everything I really want to know about your students to what it was like. So as the medium that's robots as well, they tips of it or noted when you uploaded your captions, you can let us know what medium you use acrylic oil pan corpus. If you have a lot of flexibility here, I use acrylic paint, but just know you don't have to use acrylic paint. You can also go back to a details with a fine brush and a touch some things up I recommend that I am talking about. After you're done. Walkaway for like a day or two, you come back, look at it and only focus on little things you can add because that's a slippery slope. You don't wanna get too involved in completely changed the piece. Now you're pretty much turnover, right? So, and then in general, like just get to a stopping point and start. A lot of times depending on who you are, right? You could be, this could not be a problem for you, but you could easily end up lost in what am I doing? What am I created? I could try this. I would try that if you try this, stop. This is why I taught you about picking your colors, dueling ahead of time. So you have sort of a framework in an idea for what you're gonna do. That's also why I ask what's next. Because maybe you had like five ideas that you're really excited about. You can do all five as separate pieces. Varnishing, furnishings, great. And you can buy painted on varnish and we'll pay them on in very thin layers. I tend to spray varnish in open spaces like this or where well ventilated areas because obviously you don't want to have fumes going up in your nose. And it's easier you can spread and layers. Easier to work with. Some people who resin pores haven't done that myself. There's a lot of content around resin pores, so that's another way to seal off your work vanishes resonance those all ways can seal it off after dark and also preserve the polyhedral for a longer period of time. Pass them on generations and generations, right? Stay tuned. Follow me as a teacher and your social media platforms, I will be making poor classes as I continue on and how to see you in the next class.
