PREPARING THE CANVAS: So we have a canvas in front of us, and before we start, the main part of the work, we need to put these pegs on the back of the canvas. The pegs, they're not always attached to the canvas, but if they are, then it's better to insert them. They are needed so that when we apply our texture paste to the canvas, the canvas will not bread. That is, the pegs serve to stretch the canvas better. So let's get started. Turn the canvas over. I open the bags, and now I'm going to insert them around the edges. It should be inserted in such a way that the right angle adjoins the edges of the canvas, not diagonally, but straight angles. Like this. And let's put second one like this. This is what they look like. And now let's insert them all over the edges of the canvas. There are four edges, and we have to do for all of them. And now that our canvas is ready, now we can move on on the next stages. 3. VIDEO 2. TRANSFER THE DRAWING TO CANVAS: So the next step is to transfer the sketch to the canvas. So how do we do that? Here is our sketch, and we are going to need to transfer it to a canvas and enlarge format. So how do we do that? You see there are four parts on the sketch. You will have this document in the handout and you will need to print it in A four format. You will get four sheets. We will cut out these four leaves, glue them together, and transfer them into the canvas. So now what I'm going to do is I'm going to cut extra edges. You can cut each leaf separately. I will make them altogether because the sides go the same way. If you want, you can cut two leaves at the same time. We need to cut where we have lines, but also watch how your printer prints. I had a printer printed with sides like this. You may not have them. It depends on the printer and trim everything along the black lines. We should do that with every paper. Now that we cut everything, we need to put these leaves together according to our sketch, and we will fix them with the tape. Your sketch can be literally a bit smaller than arrow canvas, but this is okay because we will stretch the petals on the canvas. I've put them together, and now you can take either tape or some stickers you have and put these leaves together. All together on the canvas. And the easiest option is to take scotch tape, but I have such unnecessary stickers that I have at home. And with these stickers, I will connect these sheets that they are stick together and not moving. Do it with every sheet of paper. Like this. And when we have glued everything together, turn the sketch over, take a simple pencil, and we need to use it as simple pencil to fill in these lines. This is so that when we turn our sketch and put on the canvas, we will use again our pencil and we will print the sketch on the canvas. Now I'm taking the pencil and starting to do like that. So cover with the pencil our sketch. It's pretty transparent, so you can see where we have to put it. So we're doing with every part of our sketch. Next, we take our canvas and put our sketch on the canvas. And I will also fix it with the stickers, not to make them move. As you can see, the sketch is smaller a little bit, then the canvas, it's okay. We will just draw these lines. This is how I fix it so that our drawing will not move. Now we take a pencil and use this pencil to trace these lines. And thus we will have our sketch imprinted on the canvas. Press well. We have a small print which is good, and then we will circle it again. There are the lines we draw and begin to trace. We have to trace every line on the sketch, be focused where you have done it and where you have still to do this. Now that we have traced all the lines, we can now remove our sketch. We have this imprint. And now we are going to use a simple pencil simply to trace the lines so the drawing is seen more clearly. Just trace the imprints and you will have a clear drawing. And now our sketch is ready. Now we can move on the next step of applying the texture paste. 4. VIDEO 3. APPLY TEXTURE PASTE: The next step is to apply the texture paste. For this, we will need the paste itself and we will also need a pastry bag where we will pour this paste. So let's get started. Let's take a back. I have already started to pour a little bit, and now I will continue. We do not pour the whole back completely because we will need to tie another knot. Pour about three quarters or even half. If there is not enough paste, we can always make a second bag. Let's let the air out like this. Move the paste down and tie a knot now. In terms of volume, see that you get about the same as I do. That's enough for all our job. If we don't have enough, we can always take a second back and add the paste. Now let's take a pair of scissors, cut off the tip, and start laying out the pasta. So next, we are going to need our texture paste. With scissors, we make a hole. Also keep your reference not far from you. It can be on iPad or it can be something printed in color to see how we apply the texture. Be sure to have a cup of water and take different brushes. You can take one bigger, another smaller. Take a couple that are flatten. But before we get started, I recommend to use wipes under our works that are pharmacy wipes that are needed in order to absorb the liquid. When we apply the paste, we will have the paste left and we can wipe some of it on these wipes. They absorb liquid well and are waterproof. I also recommend wearing gloves. And let's get started. Let's take our package. Now let's take scissors and make a small hole. This is about the size, and we'll start with the petal. And start squeezing out and leading along the petal like this to do it along the cono and now we are going to smear it with the tip. Always, the strip can be made thinner. If you have less pressure, the strip will be smaller accordingly. Take a flat brush, moisten it, and with these movements, we begin to smear our paste and connect it to the canvas. Please note that I wet the brush very often. It is with the damp brush that you can smear well. In some places, the video will be spit up, but it doesn't mean that you have to be so quick as I am. Do it at your own pace, enjoy the process. This is London Now we need to align these lines so that they are smooth and don't forget to dip the brush in water. It's a damp brush that will be able to make the furrows, these lines smoother. If the paste has gone over the edges, you can take and remove it. You can remove it with the brush, move on to the next petal, take the paste and squeeze out of line again. And in the same way, we begin to smooth the texture. Where the texture paste adjoins the neighboring leaf, we make it a little smaller, but we make these sides wider. Not. Move on to the next piece of leave and do the same thing. Remember to put in water every time your brush when you want to smooth the line, it helps to make this paste more smoother because without the water, it's too dry and there will be left not nice stripes that we don't need. Now I'm going to make the petal that we have in the middle. In the same way I apply the paste and I will continue to spread it. Please don't worry if the stripes are not very smooth. When the paste will dry out, they become smoother. Et's move on to the next petal and everything I'm doing the same way. I'm applying the paste, then I will take a wet brush and we'll smear it. I'm going to smooth it out here with the thin brush because with the big brush, it will be more difficult to do as it's a very small petal. So you can change your brushes to make the work more comfortable for yourself. Oh et's move on to the next petal. Here I want to clearly show that when I start squeezing and just start the petal, I don't press too much. I have a thin line. By the middle, I start to push harder. See there is such a thicker layer of the paste. And then when I'm done, I also stop pushing to get a thin line. And due to this, the petals will be of a different thickness and width, and we will look voluminous. Now I will do a petal and I will put the paste on the top of all layers. Odio junk. Odio junk. Odio junk. Audio, joke. Audio, job. Audio, joke i. From time to time, take your sketch and check if everything is fine. Check where we have almons stripes and where we have to add something more. And now I'm going to the next petal. What do you want? By the end of the work, you will get used to do the stripes very straightly. The algorithm and step by step system is all the time same. We put the paste, we take a wet brush, and then we smear it. Audio jungle. Audio jungle. The And now we're going to move on to the core of the flower. And I'm going to put these dots one by one and create this nice, interesting volume. Do it carefully so as not to touch it. Gonna, trick and catch your name. Potato, everything's okay. P. Push it down. Gonna, track catch your name. And potato, everything's okay. I took my exactly one package for this painting. If you don't have enough texture paste, then take a new bag and put a little texture paste and continue. Maybe he's like, Oh, yeah. So our work is ready. Leave it to dry for exactly 24 hours or maybe a bit more. You will need to check the paste with your finger, leave it to dry, and then we can move on to acrylic coating. 5. VIDEO 4. WORKING WITH ACRYLIC PAINTS. PART 1: We are moving on to the color coding stage, and for this stage, we will need acrylic paints. I took these colors below. In the description of the lesson, I will give you the name of the colors, but focus approximately on these colors. They can be similar similar shades, but it's not necessary that they are exactly the same, and the brand can be also different. Are going to need a palette like this. This is our disposable plates, and we are going to pour our paints there, and you will also need brushes of different thicknesses. Somewhere thin, somewhere with a spatula. You will need a cup of water container. We will put water there. And you will also need our reference. You can print it or use it on your iPad. Next, we'll prepare our palette for coloring. We'll look at colors we have, and now we will squeeze all these colors a little bit on a plate and mix them on the plate. Beige and white colors are a little bit more. We will need them a little bit more. Others will need a little bit less. In the middle, I left a place to mix our colors. So let's get to work. So let's move on the coloring. Take our reference and look at the colors. And according to our reference, we will apply a grilling paste and cover with color. Keep the reference close to you so that you can see and look the right color. So let's take our palette and on the palette, I mix some colors to transfer them to the canvas. And now I'm going to make the right leaf. We have to take this darkest shade down there and smooth into light color. And that's how I'm applying acrylic pad. And we are going to have to do a smooth gradient, and I'm going to use a fluffy brush to show you. I'm going to speed up the video in some places. But you know that these movements are actually much slower. And look at the gradient I'm creating. I'm starting with the dark gradient and I'm pulling that gradient to the more light, and the tips will be very light. Introduce several corals at once. Do not paint over everything with one color, but introduce several different shades. It can be brown, light brown, and beige and dilute with white. Next, I'll take a fluffy brush, and I need it to create the gradient. You can use both an art brush and a cosmetic blush brush. And then with this brush, we blend the corals like this. As long as the acrylic is not dry, it can mix very well with each other and create the smooth gradient. If the acrylic dries out, it's impossible to create a gradient. Next, I'll take our sketch and see what we have next. I always focus on it and see where I need to do dark and where I need to do light. Let's move on to the next petal. It is a little darker and I put here such a shadow on the left. And immediately dilute this color with the lighter color. So I'm using there also a white. Next, I take a fluffy brush and from top to bottom, from light to dark, I begin to blend gently like this. We apply the color first and blend it later. And that's how we do all the petals, apply color, use the brush, and then a flapper blush to blend the color. Always look at the reference to understand where to apply which shades. Somewhere it's gonna be dark, somewhere lighter. I try to knead different shades. Sometimes I add white, some were beige, somewhere I need a little pinkish. It's important that our petals are picturesque. It's important to add as many colors as you can, because with fluffy brush after we make a great gradient. It's important to have several brushes. If you need to apply a pure white color somewhere, it's better to take a dry clean brush. And then after applying the acrylic, we start blending. We are blending very smoothly, starting from upper side, from the light colors and moving down. If you have some smeared a dark color somewhere, and there must be a light one, then you can reapply the acrylic paint and then to do with the fluffy brush again. It's not a problem. You always can use acrylic paints over because acrylic paints dry very quickly. Let's move on to the next petal. I'll take our reference to check and see what's going on there. We have this dark pink burgundry shape there, and we're also doing of the flower that shadow. So I mix some colors on my palette and here I put a bit darker. Please try to use different kind of shade. Don't put only one or two shades because it will be very dull when we smear that with the fluffy brush. Use the different shades. This part, right part, we're doing more dark. And to the left part, it's gonna be more light and wiped use the white color. We're adding their white color. And after that, we will take our fluffy brush and make a good gradient. So you see here, I basically use white on the left side and red side, and right side is more dark. If you accidentally go into a neighboring petal, it's okay. When the acrylic dries, we can overlap, but still try to work carefully so as not to go into those petal that we have already done. So if you compare all our petals, you will see that they are having all different kind of shades, and this is exactly what we need, use different colors. Moving on the next petal, we have a very dark shadow going on there, so I mix brown I mix a bit purple, dark blue, and even add a bit of black. And with this dark color, I'm going to make a shade. Doing shades in this flower, we're making the work look voluminous. Try to add different colors to make the gradient nice, because if we don't have many colors on the petal, the gradient will be very dull, but we need it to look picturesque. We need it to look nice, so add as many colors as you can. All the time, have a sketch close to you just to check if you use the right colors. I'm saying once again that the colors do not have to be same as mine, but the palette should be approximately same. So you can apply the colors the way you want, but just make the difference between the shadow and between the light parts of the petals and of the flower. And from time to time, you can use a fluffy brush to make a gradient. And if the color, if the darkness is not enough, then you can add it with acrylic paint like I'm doing here. Acrylic paints, they are drying very quickly. So when you apply different kind of layers, for example, you start with the dark moving with the medium color and then doing light. Apply immediately fluffy brush because if acrylic will dry, it will be impossible to do a gradient, and there will be stripes, but we need to make a nice gradient, smooth gradient. That is why we need to work here a bit. Please notice that I'm using different shades of acrylic paint. Somewhere I add a purple, some wear pink, some were white. It's very important to do with different kind of shades, then we will make our work look voluminous and our petals will differ from each other. Because if you do everything in one color, that would be not interesting. That's why I'm using different colors, and I'm using different shades. And if you see that the middle of the flower, it's a bit darker than the ends of petals. Also take this into consideration. Adding immediately a white color, it helps you to do a nice gradient. For example, you can start in the middle with the dark, then do a stripe of a white color, then smear a bit with your with your stuff, and then add some other color, medium color. And then when we take a fluffy brush, it will be easy to do a nice gradient. I suggest you to have several fluffy brushes because, for example, when we start to smear from the light to darker color, we get a paint on it fluffy brush. And once we get to the darker color, it may smooth and may how to say, make it lighter than it has to be. But in that case, we can always add acrylic paint over it, overlap it. When it's dry, we can overlap and make the right color we need. 6. VIDEO 4. WORKING WITH ACRYLIC PAINTS. PART 2: Usually, the ending of petals, they are lighter than the middle part. So take it also into consideration. But how you have noticed, I start the middle with dark. For example, this petal, I started with purple with violet, took a little bit beige, and the endings of petals I made white. Mm. There, where we want to highlight a petal, we can take a clear brush and lay it with the white like this. And when it will be dry, we can immediately smear with the fluffy brush. Remember that our petals start with the dark color, and we can apply immediately white color. For example, the petals that are lying on the top of other petals, they are usually lighter than the down one. So take it into consideration. If we make them lighter, they will be distinguished nicely, and the flower will look voluminous. This video is a bit speed up and the process looks very fast, but in reality, it will take a bit more time because you will work in a regular speed. So don't be amazed that this work will be done, not that quickly as mine. And look at this petal, how I'm smearing, how I'm bloving the petals. I use dark color in the beginning and then basically covered everything with white. And with the fluffy brush, I will make a nice gradient. Audio jungle. Audio jungle. Audio jungle. So petals need additional contrast. That is why I'm taking the black, not black, dark acrylic paint, and use it under the other petal. First, it makes the first petal to come on the first place, and second, it makes second petal that is down to look down and on the place that it should be. So we have to play here with dark and light colors. Some petals should be really dark. The beginnings of the petal should be really dark to make it more contrast. W. Sometimes it's just enough to use a dark color in the beginning and then just add a white and do it with the fluffy brush, and we will get a nice gradient. Do jungle. At the same time, do not forget add different shades. Here I use basically white, beige. I use a bit of pink, purple, brown, dark brown, and dark purple. Jungle. Odeo jungle. Jungle. Audio jungle. And now we have the last leaf left. It turns to be so light. Of course, we dilute it with different shades, and then we will have to make the middle of the flower and work with the background. Do jungle. Next, we move on the middle of the flower. I mix dark shades, brown, I take purple and black and fell in the middle of the flower like this. I make it very, very dark. And then we will decorate it with special stones. And now our flower is colored and now we have to make a background. To do this, I will put the work on the table, and in the next video tutorial, I will show how I will overlap 7. VIDEO 5. WORKING WITH ACRYLIC PAINTS. BACKGROUND: Let's move on the stage of painting the background. I put the work on the table, and now I will need to repair the background side edges of the canvas. But before we get started, I recommend laying these pharmacy diapers for work. This is necessary so that if you go in with the paint, this paper will protect your table. So let's take our reference and see what shade we need to mix. It's such a grayish purple, dark one, and now we are going to take a separate cap and mix the color so much as we will be able to cover this white part of the canvas twice because when we overlap the first time, we are going to have white caps, and we are going to need to have some paint leftover for the second time. To meet this dark grayish purple color, we need to take several colors. We will take white paint, purple, black, and a little bit of brown there. I do everything by eye, and when we need feuder, we can always look at the shade and if it's light, for example, we can add more purple or more black. You don't have to do it exactly the same as I do. The shades may be a little different, but overall, it should be that dark. As I mix the paints, I realized that this amount of paint is not enough for me to cover twice. So I will add purple, I will add a little black, and I will add brown to make more paint. It's better to mix a little more paint so that it even remains than less because if you don't have enough paint, you can't paint it twice. It's very difficult to mix the same shade that you mixed before. So do enough at once to cover for two times. You can take a direct reference in your hands, so I took a stick and see how it fits well, I immediately mixed on the ice such a shade that I need. So we're going to need several brushes. One is more white, another one is more smaller, and we need the smaller for those places where a thick brush can't go. So let's start overlapping. Apply the paint and immediately start smearing. Art list I O. And I do it in such a way that first I do the borders and then immediately smear that the paint smears very smoothly. We don't need to have stripe, so we need to smooth them. With the first layer, the canvas can be transulent and there is nothing wrong with that. We will overlap twice. After two coats of paint, the canvas will be completely done. Here, I'm going to take a thinner brush because there are joints of two leaves, and with a large brush, I would just cover these petals and I can't get can't get with the thick brush there, so I'm using a thin one. Music licensing, do you imagine? And I want to remind you once again that with the thinner brush, we are going into that places where a big brush can do a normal stroke. So we're doing that very accurately. Don't be in a hurry because it's important not to spoil our petals that are already done. But in case if you spoil a petal, for example, it's not a problem because there is already a dry acrylics, and you can go over this acrylic with the right color. Like that, we are doing every empty side of the background and look at work, how beautiful it started to become. Next, we need to paint the edges of the canvas in the same way. Then we will let the painting dry for an hour. As soon as the first layer dries, we will immediately cover the second time according to the simple principle. So we put the first layer on the edges. We will let it dry, and then we will do a second time background and edges as well. So we have the first layer done. We need now to leave it to dry a bit about 1 hour. Once the acrylic is dry, we will cover the same thing one more time. You can cover the paint cup with either foil or with something else to prevent it dry. So the first layer has dried. You see we have such gaps here and there, and now we will cover them with the second layer and the work will be made and gorgeous. This double covering helps the background to look smooth because after the first paint, there were gaps, and with the second time, the gaps are disappearing. Cover the side of the painting with the second layer and leave the work to dry until it dries completely. Once the acrylic is completely dry, we can move on to the next stage of resin coating. Mm. 8. VIDEO 6. FILLING WITH RESIN. CRUMBLE DECORATION: So we move on to the resin coating stage. And for that, we are going to need the resin itself. It consists of two components, a resin and a hardener. We're also going to need some decorative pebbles like this. I took black and silver. You can take the one you want. They can be either gold or purple. Also, we need this plastic disposable cup and stick in it, we will mix epoxy resin. We also need a kitchen scale which measures it in grams and a couple of unnecessary brushes, thick and thin, unnecessary in the sense that after using the resin, we will simply throw them away. They will be unusable. To start now, we will measure my grams resin. You will need a two components resin and hardener. Each manufacturer may have different proportions. For example, I have a ratio of one to one. If I pour 10 grams of resin in a jar, then I need same amount for the hardener in a blue jar. I get 20 grams altogether. There are manufacturers who make the ratio two to one. If I pour 10 grams of resin, then you need to stir 5 grams from the hardener. Here, you need to look at the description on the manufacturer's label. Put the cup down and reset it. And now I will pour the same amount of resin, and this is the same amount of hardener. I will start with the hardener. I will pour out approximately 25 grams of hardener and 25 grams of resin. So 50 grams altogether. Next, I take a jar of resin and pour 25 grams in the same way. That is, I should have 50 grams altogether. Next, we have to mix this resin very well. There will have two components mix in the way in different directions for about 5 minutes, and the resin will be ready for pouring. So we have mixed our resin well, and now we need to make sure to put on glows. This is very important. Otherwise, you will get your hands dirty. And also, you will need to put a special stuff under the painting. This is how we are going to put the resin on the work and smear it with the brush. Spread the brush evenly on the texture paste. We will apply resin only where we have a flour, and the background will remain without resin like this, carefully spread and pour more where it's necessary. We need to pour it an entire flour, pour in about exactly the same way and spread it gently. Gently spread around the edges, and try not to get to the background. At first, it may seem that the resin lays unevenly, but over time, it spreads over the full surface and all everything will be regulated. And it will give amazing gloss. The resin can be poured out of a cup or somewhere on a small surface taken with the brush from the glass, and this way, it can be added. So I can pour from the glass or take from the glass with something. Be very careful. It's very important that the resin stays only on the petals and doesn't go on the background. So pour out it carefully and then use your brush. You can also pour out like this on all petals and then smear it with the brush. On the sides, you can run your hand like this and remove extra resin because the resin flows down and there is no drops avoided by the sides. Next, I move on the decoration with stones. First, I take a black crumb, pour it on my hand, and with the small movements, begin to sprinkle in the middle like that. Not very much, but so that we can sit. And then I will take silver chips in the same way and decorate something with silver. Here, you can regulate by yourself how much you want. If you got it somewhere, it's okay. I even looks more natural. I mean, if you got it on some petals, and now our work is ready, leave the resin to dry for about 12 hours. And I'm going now to show you close how it looks like. Leave it to dry on a flat surface. If there are animals at home, don't let them on the table and open the window a little to ventilate the room.
