1. Introduction to the course: Hello and welcome to
three-minute Portuguese course. For this course is a follow-up to three-minute
Portuguese course three. And it uses all of the words and phrases that we learned
in that course. So if you haven't been
through Course three, you should do that before
starting this one. As always, this course covers both European Portuguese
and Brazilian Portuguese. And I explain the differences in vocabulary and
pronunciation throughout. This course is based on the method I developed
for teaching languages, which I use in all my
classes and courses. The method will get you
speaking Portuguese quickly without the struggle normally associated
with language learning. Just like with the last course, remember that 3 min is the
key to effective learning. I've kept the lessons in short three-minute chunks so that you can learn
at your own pace. Keep your study sessions
short to avoid boredom. That way you maintain
your motivation. You'll be more consistent
in your learning. So it'll become a habit. And you'll also find
that you memorize with much more easily
and effectively. Stick to short bursts
of study rather than long drawn-out sessions. I hope you enjoy this course
in town, Varmus commissar. So let's begin.
2. 27a - está: Here's your first word for this lesson and for this course. H star, star. We've already seen it before
and we learned that it means it is when you're talking about the
location of something. But she has a second meaning. It can mean ru. And don't forget that in
Brazilian Portuguese, it will be pronounced estar. Estar or esta can mean, are you How would you ask, where are you on their star? On the star or in
Brazilian Portuguese? On GSR, on JSTOR. So as I said, we
learned many moons ago that the word a star or a star can mean it is when you're talking about the location
of something, e.g. ash, that can mean it is here or in Brazilian
Portuguese star icky. Well now we know that esta or
esta can also mean, argue. If stack can mean it is, or are you, how do we
know which is which? Well, you can usually
tell from the context of the conversation
whether somebody is talking about you or it. But there is another way
for when it isn't clear. The actual word for you in Portuguese is Voss,
say vos, say. You can add it to the beginning
of each step to clarify. So we'll say esta, or we'll say a star,
means are you. Now the word was safe is used in ever-so-slightly
different ways. In Brazilian and
European Portuguese. In Brazil, you always put the
word will say with h star. So you would say things
like Orangeville, say a star on devo siesta, which means where are you? In Brazil, the word was say is the informal
way of saying you. Whereas in Portugal,
the word was saying is the formal
way of saying you. In Portugal, people prefer
to use the formal way of speaking than the informal as they consider it more polite. On the other hand, in Brazil, people prefer to use
the informal way of speaking as they consider
it more friendly. So in reality, you
can use the word vos, say in both Brazil and Portugal, and you'll be making
everybody happy. The only difference
is that in Brazil, they always use the word
bossy and rarely miss it off. But in Portugal, they will miss it off and
just use the word estar to mean are you without
saying the word was say. In Portugal, It's only
used as a clarifier. In Brazil, it's obligatory. So on dash star or on JSTOR can mean where
are you, Where is it? So to clarify, we can
use the word will say on the Wasatch star
or on devo se Esta. Where are you?
3. 27b - em: We've just seen that
the word star means are you and you can use the word vos say to clarify that it
doesn't mean it is. So we'll say esta, or in Brazilian Portuguese, will say a star. Are you How would you
ask, are you here? What's the Starkey? Starkey or in
Brazilian Portuguese? And we'll say a Starkey
was say a stocky. And actually the
word vos say can go in front or after
the word edge there. So you could say H
double, say a key. But it's much more common
to see it in front. So we'll say stocky. How would you ask, are
you here tomorrow? We'll say hashtag key ammonia will say hashtag key ammonia. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, will say esta archaea ammonia
will say a stocky ammonia. Where are you tomorrow? On the vasa recta ammonia. On the Wasatch that ammonia
or in Brazilian Portuguese on G4 se Esta ammonia on G
will say a star ammonia. Now this next word
is a tiny word, I1. I1, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, AIM. Aim. It means in I. M. The m on the end is
classed as a nasal sound, so you don't pronounce it. I'm and aim. You pronounce it i1 and aim. So it's almost as
though you have an N, G on the end of the word
and you're just missing off the G. So I'm
gonna take off the G. I'm aim. It means in. So how would
you say in Portuguese, are you in Lisbon? Will say hashtag, unleash bar, will say a star unleash bar. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
will say Esta en this bar will say a
star, endless bar. So it's I1 in
European Portuguese, and aim in Brazilian Portuguese. How would you ask, are
you in Alabama tomorrow? What's the ich Dann eine Alpha
ammonia will say star IN, OUT pharma ammonia or in Brazilian Portuguese,
will say a star. And I'll Fama ammonia will
say esta a farmer ammonia. And just in case
you were wondering, Alpha Gamma is a neighborhood
in Lisbon. In Portugal.
4. 27c - como: Here's a nice question
word in Portuguese. Gone. Gone. It means how come? How would you say, how are you going to wish that was say esta or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Como Esta, Como se Esta. So in this lesson so far
we've had Ishtar or votes, they Esta, which means our u. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, ame means in column, means how. You'll hear common
wish staff or Como se Esta quite a lot in
Portuguese-speaking countries, it's a good phrase to learn and say when you want to
ask, how are you? So whenever you meet somebody, you can say to them,
all are moister. Or Hola Como se Esta. Hello, how are you?
This next word is a good answer
to that question. Buying B9 or bang. Bang. It means fine or well, so B9 in European Portuguese, and vein in Brazilian
Portuguese. And it's got another
of those nasal sounds on the end, buying vein. So the word B9 is what you can use to
answer the question, Commonwealth Star,
more comb-over siesta. You can imagine a mini
conversation that you could use whenever
you meet somebody. All our commonwealth siesta. Hello, how are you buying
or selling album to bind? It will say, Well,
thanks very well. And you see moon to bind
combine operating model. Yes, very well as
well. Thank you. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would hear it pronounced, allow, comb-over, say a star, maybe nobody else
who want to bang. It will say, See More to
paint and vein are big album. So how would you ask
it in Portuguese? Are you well, we'll say esh turbine
will say H turbine, or we'll say a stubbing. Stubbing. How would you ask? Hello, are you well, Ola, each turbine, all
our Wasatch turbine, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
will say Stabby. Stabby.
5. 27d - estou: This next word goes along
the same lines as well. Siesta H2. H2. It means I am H2, or in Brazilian Portuguese, S2. S2. So how would you say
I am here tomorrow? To Ikea ammonia. Ammonia
or SDO wacky ammonia. Ammonia. I am in Lisbon. A newsboy, a store, and each bar or esto, esto en these bulla. I am here with Maria. Maria. Maria, or
it's the wacky call. Maria is the wacky Maria. How would you say I am? Well, I still buying buying or s-domain a steel beam. I am very well. Don't want to bind, don't want to mine
or s-domain to Bain. S-domain to Bain. Now, if you want to say, I am in the hotel, well, we know the word for n and
we know the word for the. However, when you put in and
that together in Portuguese, they combine and
become a new word. I1 plus becomes new. In the feminine, i1 plus becomes no or none in
Brazilian Portuguese, new means in the when you're talking
about a masculine noun. And no means in the, when you're talking
about a feminine noun. So how would you say,
I am in the hotel? Estonia, hotel Nortel. Nortel. Nortel. I am in my
room at the hotel. Esto no may acquire
to our hotel. H2o numerical to our hotel.
6. 27e - ocupado: Here's a nice little adjective. Occupied. Occupied do. It means busy. Occupied do. It sort of looks like the
English word occupied. So how would you say I am busy TO or goo, goo. Goo, goo or esto. Esto or Gu bathroom. I am very busy. H2. H2 or moist to occupied
is still going to occupy. We've had so far in this lesson, we'll say esta or
for say a star. Which means are you, I'm or ame, means in new. And mean in the new is the
masculine and feminine. Common is how B9 means well, or being in Brazilian
Portuguese. Comma, we'll say a star. Or a star means how are you? Esto. Esto means I am and
I'll go Babel means busy. How would you say I am too busy? H2o, AACU battle damage, or Gu, battle damage. Or SDO occupied 0 g mice
are good, bad or demise. I am busy tomorrow. Or glue bottle
ammonia, H2 or Coupa. The ammonia or S2 are cuboidal. Ammonia is still a
good bottle. Ammonia. I am too busy tomorrow. H2. H2 or Guba do the
major mania or hypomania, a stove or cuboidal demise
ammonia. Are you busy? And we'll say estar aqui. Paolo will say estar aqui, battle will say estar aqui.
7. 27f - ele está: How would you say are
you very busy tomorrow? We'll say Ashton, we
talk about the woman. Yeah. We'll say esta we'll do
a couple of ammonia. Now we've had IM and ru. Well here's the next
phrase and you'll notice that it's the same as ru, except the bit at the
start is different. Il SDA. It means he is ill. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
alias the LAS data. So how would you say
he is here tomorrow? He'll Ashdod key ammonia. Ammonia or LES dot key ammonia,
Elliot Starkey, ammonia. He is too busy. Eilish talcum powder, the mesh. Eilish that occupied the mesh or alias that
occupied or demise. Alias that are called
bad or demise. How would you say he is there? Ollie. Ollie. Ollie, Ollie, alias that allele. So ELS data or alias, that means he is. And if you want to say she is, you say Ella Esta
or analyze data. So how would you say
she is here tomorrow? Lh donkey ammonia. Ammonia or LI spiky ammonia. Li stocky ammonia. How would you say she is there? Lh Dolly, L H that
alley or allies Valley? Ella es that allele.
8. 27g - cansado: We've been brushing this word HDR around quite a
lot in this lesson. Firstly, I said it means ru. And now we know that it can
also mean he is or she is. Well, because that can mean all of these
different things. There are extra little words
that you can add to clarify. These extra words
are called pronouns. E.g. you can add voice, say, you get vasa recta. Vasa recta means are you, if you add ill or in
Brazilian Portuguese, Ellie, which means he, then we get Eilish
data or alias star, which means he is. Similarly, we can add
l, which means she. And we get L star or Ella Esta. So that means she is so bossy, ill and ELA, or pronouns. Instead of pronouns, you can put any name in front
of the word SDA. E.g. Paolo esta or Paolo. Sda means Paolo is
Marie Ashdod or Maria. Sda means Maria is. So how would you say
Paolo is busy tomorrow? Powell, a style coop
out to ammonia. Ammonia or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Powell esta occupy the woman, Yeah, Power Louis that
occupy the ammonia. Here's another adjective. Can saddle. Saddle. It means tired. Can saddle. So how would you say
I am very tired? To cancel due to concern? Or in Brazilian Portuguese is
still mine to cancel them. To cancel them. Are you tired? We'll say a stack and sad. We'll say a stack and saddle. Or we'll say a stack. I'm sad to say a stack. And Sao. Paolo is too tired. Paolo, hashtag canceled. Oh my gosh. Paolo H
that can sell the mesh. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Powell a stack and Saudi mice by Louis that
can start to demise.
9. 27h - com pressa: How would you say in Portuguese? I'm always tired. Esto sample reconcilable, H2O, sampler consultant, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, esto sampling. So sampling can saddle. Here's your next
phrase in Portuguese. Compressor. Compressor.
It means in a hurry. Compressor. It literally means with
haste, gone presser. So how would you
say I'm in a hurry? Store compressor? A store compressor or
a store compressor. Compressor. Are you in a hurry? We'll say hashtag
compressor will say hashtag compressor or
vasa stack compressor will say a stack compressor. In this lesson, we've learned a couple of more adjectives. However, if you want
to say something like she is busy or she is tired, you'll need to know the
feminine versions of the adjectives are
cuboidal and canceled. Just like with other adjectives
that end in the letter 0, you can change the 0 to
a to make it feminine. So AACU paddle means busy in
the masculine, but I'll go. Patho means busy
in the feminine, are called Babu, Koopa. And the same goes with tired. Can stub is tired
in the masculine. Can Sabah is tied
in the feminine. Can saddle can salvage. The phrase compressor
doesn't change though. Compressor literally
means with haste. So that doesn't change
in the feminine. So you say compressor in the masculine and compressor
in the feminine. How would you say in
Portuguese, he is busy. Eilish Dao, Gu Pobble, ill estar aqui Babu. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, alias that are called Babel. Alias that are called Babel. How would you say she is busy? Lh that are called bada. Boom, bada. You change vocal
battle to occupy them. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it el estar aqui para. Allies that occupy data.
10. 27i - feminine adjectives: How would you say in Portuguese? He is tired. Julesz.com sample
Eilish that canceled. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, LE stack can saddle alias
that comes out them. How would you say she is tired? Lh that Gonzaga, lh.com server in Brazilian Portuguese you would say ala stack Gonzaga, LA stuck, and Salah. He is in a hurry. Eilish duck compressor,
Julesz dot compressor or in Brazilian Portuguese alias that compressor, LES dot compressor. How would you say
she is in a hurry? Lh that compressor. Ella Esta compressor. Compressor stays the same in
the masculine and feminine. How would you say Paolo is busy? Bowel, wish that are comparable. Aged out or cuboidal. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese power louis that are called Babel. Bao Lu estar aqui Babel. How would you say Maria is busy? Muddy, I star Koopa. Maria estar aqui para. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Maria's that are called bother. Maria estar aqui para. Paolo is tired. Polish that can sell a
stock, can sell them. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
bound Louis that can sample by all the waste
that can startle. Fear is tired. Sofia, a stack can Santa Sofia, a stack can solder. In Brazilian Portuguese, Sophia
is stuck and Santa Sofia, a stack can solder. How would you say
Paolo is in a hurry? Boulware stack compressor.
The compressor.
11. 27j - não estou: How would you say in Portuguese, Maria is in a hurry. Maria hashtag compressor. Maria, HER compressor, or Maria is that compressor? Maria is that compressor. We had stole, which
means I am well the opposite of S2 or
S2 is now my stool. Now S2 means I'm not or
in Brazilian Portuguese. Now it's still now S2. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I'm not in a root tomorrow. Now I stole a white woman, yeah. Now we stole a vital ammonia
or in Brazilian Portuguese. Now installed and
available ammonia. Now a stone, a woman, yeah. I'm not here tomorrow. Now. I still ikea mania. Now, it's dorky ammonia. Now I stole a key. Ammonia. Now as the wacky
ammonia. I'm not very well. Now we still want to ban. Now I stole mine to bind
in Brazilian Portuguese. Now I still multiple vane. Now I stole mine to buy-in. How would you say I
am not in the hotel? I'm in the restaurant. Now. I stole Nortel
H2O nuanced around. Now I still Nortel H2O, new hashtag around, or
in Brazilian Portuguese. Now I stole Nortel is
still no histology. Now I stole Nortel is though new Historian Ji. I'm not busy. Now. I stole a coupon. Now I stole a good bottle. I'm not tired. Now it's token Savile. Now, H2O cancel.
I'm not in a hurry. Now I stole compressor. Now as TO compressor.
12. 27k - negatives and questions: Now, if you're female, don't forget that
you have to make the adjectives can solve them. And AACU, Babu, feminine, e.g. if you want to say, I'm
not tired in the feminine, you would say, now I
still can start on. Now, SDO can saga. However, if you make a mistake and use the masculine
form of the adjective, it's not the end of the
world, so don't panic. Everybody will know
what you mean. Now we had il esta
or Elliot star, which was, he is, well the opposite is
ill. Now Ishtar or LE, now a star, which
means he isn't. Similarly, if you want
to say she isn't, you say Ella now Ashton, L, and now I star. So how would you say he
isn't here tomorrow? You will now hashtag
key ammonia. Now a Starkey ammonia or
in Brazilian Portuguese. Le, now Starkey ammonia. Le now I start ikea mom, yeah. She isn't tired. Ala knowledge that can solver. Ala knowledge that
can Sabah or ELA. Now I start Gonzaga in
Brazilian Portuguese. How would you say She
isn't very tired? Ala now reached
out to count Sava. Ala, now I'm going to consider
she's not in a hurry. Ala, now we're stuck
compressor Ella, now a stack compressor. He isn't busy. Knowledge that are ku ba boo. You now wish that occupy them. Or LE, now ash that are Coupa, LE, now I star coupon. Now we know that the phrase
is Eilish star and LH, that mean he is and
she is respectively. But they can also be
used in questions. So Eilish star or alias, that means is he and elastin
or LI star means is she. So all you have to
do in Portuguese is put a question mark after it. So you haven't got to
change the words at all or switch them around. So how would you
ask, is he busy? Eli star. Star occupied or
in Brazilian Portuguese? Les that occupy
the LES Taco Bell. So we have to do is raise
your voice slightly in speaking to make it
sound like a question. Because if you
don't, then you get the statement ELS that
are called babel, which means he is busy. So you have to make it sound
a bit more like a question. Ela star occupied.
13. 27l - recap of words so far: How would you ask him
Portuguese issue, tired. A livestock can Sattler. Sattler. Ellie stack Gonzaga. Ella es back-end server. Is he in a hurry? Electric compressor. The compressor or
alias that compressor. Alias.com, pacer. Is she there? Ala. Ala. Ala. Ala, Sally. Is he here tomorrow? Bialystok ammonia. Ammonia in Brazilian Portuguese. Les dot ikea ammonia. Les that a key ammonia. Is she busy? A lifestyle, local
bother? A lifestyle. How would you ask Where is he? On the USDA? On the elastin. In Brazilian Portuguese, OpenGL ES the orangey
alias data. Where is she? On the eyelash, down
on the eyelash data. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, orange ELS data. Orangey Ella Esta. So we've had in
this lesson so far, and we'll say Esta,
which means our u, or in Brazilian
Portuguese will say esta or ame means in new. And now, both mean in the
null is the masculine and feminine is how
buying means well, or in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it
being com slash star. Star means how are you? S2 or S2 means I am
Isla Vista or alias. That means he is a lifestyle. Or Ella Esta means she is AACU, babble is busy, or Coupa
is busy in the feminine. Saddle means tired. Can solver is tired
in the feminine. Compressor means in a hurry. Now H2. Now S2 means I'm
not ill now Ishtar or LE, now a star means he isn't. L and our star. Or Ella, Esta means she isn't. Then as a question, you will esta or LAS
data means is he. And similarly, a lifestyle
or LI star means is she.
14. 27m - How are you?: When you get asked the
question will say a star. Will say a star. Which means how are you? As I've said, you can just
answer with the word mine. Mine, which means fine. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it being. However, if you want to add a little pizzazz
to your language, you now know how to say I am. So you could say
something like I am fine, or you could make
it a little longer. E.g. if somebody says
to you, will say star, you could answer a store
buying and bring them to mind. It will say, which
means I'm well, thanks, I'm very well. And you, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it. A steel beam over the
garden is dominant to main. It will say, then
the other person might reply C, H turbine. See each turbine. Or C is domain. C, S domain. Which means, yes, I'm
well, installing a motor. When somebody asks
you a question like, how are you in English? How do you answer? Generally, people have a
response that comes out automatically whenever
they're asked questions that they
get asked a lot. I know if I get asked, How am I usually just say Yes, I'm
good, thanks, How are you? I don't think about
it. It just comes out. This is because my response to this question has
become a reflex. Similarly, if
somebody asked me in Portuguese, star,
without thinking, I automatically say moist
BU, buying oblique Adam, Eve, or say the words just
come out of my mouth. This is because I've
set them so often, they'd become a reflex. A reflex is something that happens quickly
and automatically. They happen all
over the body, e.g. if you put your hand on
something really hot, you don't leave it
there and go out. That really burns and
slowly take your hand off. Now what happens is you don't even think
about what to do. Nobody just pulls the
hand off automatically. In languages I call
these reflexes motors. And that's because they
help you to speed along or motor along with your
language learning. And the more motors you
install in your brain, the more quickly you will
be communicating easily. In Portuguese, installing
a motor is easy. The hardest part
is just deciding what your motor is
going to look like. In the rest of this lesson,
we're going to make two small motors that you can
use everyday in Portuguese.
15. 27n - installing a motor: Installing a motor. Now the first motor
that we're going to learn is the hello. How are you motor? You now know a couple of different
ways that you can ask this in Portuguese. The first one is, Allah will
say esta Hola Como se Esta. Which literally means
hello, how are you? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say it was se Esta. The second way that
you've learned how to ask how somebody is, is all I will say each turbine. Turbine, which
literally means hello, are you well, in Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it. Allah will say
stubbing. Stubbing. So you can say all our
conversation or Wasatch turbine. The first one is
used more often, but the second one
is just as good. So pick the one that you prefer. Now to install the
motor into your brain, where you have to do is
repeat it to yourself again and again and
again and again. Imagine yourself in
situations where you could use it and say it
out loud to yourself. When you walk into a restaurant, you can say all our
commonwealth siesta. When you go into a hotel, you can say all our
common law says that when you go into a shop, you can say Hola Como se Esta. Even when you pass somebody when you're out on a
walk in the park. All our common law system, There are lots of
different places where you can use this motor. So it's a very useful
one to install. So say it to yourself
again and again out loud so that it becomes a reflex
all our common ancestor. Or if you prefer, you can
take the raw stay out. All our star is your motor. So choose the one that you
feel most comfortable using. So that's your first murder, either all our conversations or Wasatch turbine or as I said, you can take the vasa out all our moister
or Allah Esteban. Your second motor is going to be your response
to this question. Again, there are numerous
ways you could do this. Scene. It will say, See, I still BioBrick album Evil. Say this literally means
yes, I'm well, thank you. And you, or you could answer. It will say H2O bind eval. Say, this literally
means I'm well and you, or you could just say buying, it will say buying. It will say, which
means well, and you, or you could say
buying nobody Adam, Eve or same, which means, well, thank you and do. So those are four examples. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce them, see a small mammal, but you will see its domain. It will say, eval, say, or maybe nobody will say. You could make up for
more examples just by using the word,
which means vary. So you could say, seem to
BioBrick album Evil say, which literally means, yes, I'm very well, Thank you. And you are going to bind, it will say, which literally
means I'm very well. And you or my turbine, it will say very well. And you or my domain, it will say very
well, thank you. Undo. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, you would say those
four examples as see, a stoma domain will be garbled. Even say it's dormant domain. It will say my domain. It will say to me
nobody album Evil. Say. That's just eight examples of
an answer to the question, how are you pick
your favorite and install it by saying it
again and again and again. If you're in a Portuguese
speaking country, every time somebody
asks you how you are, say your motor very quickly, it will become so ingrained in your brain that you won't have to think about
how to say it. It will just come out.
16. 27o - I'm very well, thank you: So you have two very
short Motors now. The first one is to
ask how somebody is, and the second one is an
answer to that question. E.g. all our common ancestor is still buying them together. It will say, remember
however that if you ask somebody how they are and then they
asked you back, then your answer won't
have an due on the end. So we can put the
undo in brackets, H2 minus H1 or H2 buying
nobody gave them evil, say. So write your motors down
however you want them, and then install them
in your brain by saying them to yourself
again and again and again. And then when you're
traveling through any Portuguese-speaking
countries, you can whip them out and
speak like the natives do. Whilst we're talking about
Portuguese speaking countries, there is a word
that you might not have seen, looser phone. Whenever you see looser phone, that means that, that country
is Portuguese-speaking. And they're actually
quite a lot of Lucifer and countries. There's obviously
Portugal and Brazil, which have Portuguese as
their official languages. But there are actually
lots of countries that also speak Portuguese. And Dora has a lot of
Portuguese speakers as those, Luxembourg, Argentina, Paraguay,
Uruguay, and Venezuela. And then there are a lot
of African countries that have Portuguese as their
official languages. Angola, Cape Verde, and
Guinea-Bissau, well, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, and south
or may bring seep. They all have Portuguese as
their official language. And then in Asia, there are other countries, Macau and East Timor, which have Portuguese as
their official languages. In fact, in the whole world, there are almost
300 million people who speak Portuguese as
their first language, so it's quite a common language. Now, in this lesson
we've had a star. A star, which means ru. Or ame, means in new. And now are the masculine
and feminine words for in the column means how? B9 or being means. Well, then the
question, common wish, that means how are you esto? Esto means I am
Eilish star or alias. That means he is
a Lashkar or LS, that means she is. Oh, cool, battle is busy. In the feminine, it
becomes a cool PABA. Can sample means tired, and in the feminine, it's Salah. Compressor means in a hurry and there's no different
feminine form. Now a stool, or
now I still means I'm not evil now a star or LE, now I star means he isn't. Ala. Now I star or L at now
a star means she isn't. English star or LES star
means is he a lifestyle? Or LAS star means is she. Then we've had our
first two motors. All go moister. All our commonwealth say star
means hello, how are you? So the first motor is a
way of asking how somebody is and the second motor
is an answer to that. E.g. move to BioBrick
album Evil say, which means very
well, Thank you.
17. 27p - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How would you say in
Portuguese, where are you? On the Wasatch star? On the Wasatch data. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
on Geebo siesta. Orangey will say Esta. I'm in Lisbon. Stole Eilish bore, unleash bar, or in Brazilian
Portuguese is stored in this bulla, stole
endless boomer. I'm very busy. Going to occupy your
mind to a coupon. Maria is too busy tomorrow. Maria h Tau Coupa
demise ammonia. Maria h Tau Coupa,
the mice ammonia. I'm not tired but
I'm in a hurry. Now. I still consoling
message TO compressor. Now my shadow consultant
message TO compressor. He isn't here. You will now have stocky. You'll now have stocky
or LE, now a stocky. Le, now a stocky. How is Paolo? Common
wish that bowel? Gamow? I'm very well, but I'm also very tired. A stoma to mine, much standby mode
to cancel them, to bind, mash, combine a stone, money to cancel them. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, estimate domain must dumbbell is don't wait to cancel them. Estimate to Bain. Mass damping, stole money to concern. Are you busy tomorrow? We'll say Ashdod
coupon to ammonia. Ammonia. What time is
she here tomorrow? I got older. They lashed tacky ammonia, LI
stocky ammonia.
18. 27q - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some

19. 27r - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese? Take the second row on the left and then the third
road on the right. Damas Laguna, who are either push other side

Portuguese, were Mosul. Mosul a perfect tool? It's good here. A boy
monkey, a bone wacky.
20. 27s - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Quantile, Gustaf,
poor set, d dash. Dash. How much is it for seven days? Time? Mapper, tiny mapper. Do you have a map?
Postal ear, outer ear? How can I go to the airport? Huc12 IN since the
school age to s2, I1, since the age group. I would like this

diarrhea, ammonia. I would like to go to

know it is fashionable. Can I have a room
for tonight, please?
21. 27t - você: I just wanted to give
you a brief explanation of the word vos same or you. In Portuguese. We've already mentioned it, but I just wanted to make sure
it's clear for everybody. In Brazil, you will
hear the word vos, say, use all the time. So if you're learning
Brazilian Portuguese, this isn't ready for you. Just carry on using VSC
as often as you like. In Portugal, they prefer to miss off the word
bossy if they can. So when you're asking somebody
how they offer example, you would say com
slash star, star. And you will rarely say
go move or say a star. It's not wrong to
use the word while C is just not very
commonly used in Portugal. Somebody told me once, if you use Rossi all the time when you're
speaking in Portugal, It's the equivalent
of somebody using your name constantly when they're talking to
you in English. It's just a bit annoying. Hello Karen. How are you, Karen? Are you busy, Karen? That's what it would sound like to
somebody in Portugal. If you said Hola Como se Esta, will say hashtag called Babel. That sounds perfectly
fine in Brazil, but in Portugal, they prefer
to miss off the word bossy. Hola Como Esta telco puddle. So I hope that's clear now, if you're learning
Brazilian Portuguese, use Voss say as
often as you like. If you're learning
European Portuguese, you don't need to use VLC, just miss it off unless
it's really unclear.
22. 27.5a - tudo bem?: I thought I would
make this little half lesson just to add a little bit of extra information
to the previous lesson. This is because there is
more than one way to ask, how are you in Portuguese? Previously, we learned
this question and answer. Goma will say Ashton gum will
say a star for how are you. Then H2 BioBrick album, buying or pregabalin, which
means I'm well, thank you. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it
S domain of the gavel. But this isn't the only
way to ask and answer. How are you? Here's
an expression that you'll hear quite a lot. To do. B9, to do bind. It means is everything
okay to do B9? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it to domain. To domain. It's much less
formal than comb-over siesta. It's sort of similar to
the English question, how's it going to do mine? Or two domain? As I said, there are
numerous ways to ask how are you in Portuguese? Let me give you a few examples and then you can
pick your favorite and install it has a motor by
saying it again and again. We've had comb-over siesta, comb-over search data,
which means how are you? Wasatch turbine. Turbine means are you well, now we know to divine. Divine Is everything okay? Literally, it just means
everything well, to divine. In Brazilian
Portuguese, you would pronounce these three questions. Como se Esta. Say a stabbing. Pain. To do B9 or two domain literally just
means everything well. But the full version of this question is
H dot to do mine, I start to divine or esta
to domain. To domain. Which means is everything okay, or is everything well? Or you might be
able to guess what this next question means. More stuff to do. Como, which that tool? How is everything literally, how h star is? To do everything? In Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce these two questions
and start to do vein and como esta to do. As well as the different
ways to ask how somebody is. There are also lots
of different ways to answer the question. So you can just say buying, buying, which means fine. Or in Brazilian Portuguese vein. Turbine. Turbine means I'm fine. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, s-domain. Going to bind. To bind. I'm very well. Or s-domain to beam two
beam, toothbrush turbine. The turbine, everything is
fine or everything is well. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it
todo Esta beam to Esteban. And here are a few new ways
to answer the question. Another mount, another amount. This means not bad. Literally it means nothing bad. Neither means nothing.
In Portuguese. We've seen the word
mount, which means bad. Now that Mao, or you could
say now a shadow B9. Now I still buying. That means I'm not well, or in Brazilian Portuguese.
Now I still beam. Or you can say echelon Mau, Mau, which means
I'm feeling bad. The word mount can mean bad or you can also
use it to mean ill. So Asheville mal means I'm feeling bad or
I'm feeling ill.
23. 27.5b - goodbye: Gone. We'll say Vi comma Vj, vi. Now we've seen the
question, cool movie star. But there is another very
similar phrase that you can use to ask
somebody how they are. Gamow was saved by
literally means, how are you going? But you can use it to
mean How are you doing? Como se vi? And you can use it in the
same way as we use comb-over. Just like before, the word
will save is optional. So you might hear co-move, I go movie or comb-over, say vi. We'll say vi. And as I said, it means how are you doing, or literally how are you going? So the word vi is a word we're going to look at more
closely in the next lesson. But basically it means, are you going to
answer this question? You can use the word wall, which means I'm going e.g. vo. By Holbein. Literally it means
I'm going well, but in English we say I'm
doing well, vote buying. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it will mean vote. Vein. The question comb-over say vi, literally means
how are you going, but you can use it to
mean How are you doing? You can answer it with Holbein. I'm doing well. Finally, there are
numerous ways to say goodbye to somebody
in Portuguese. So we have either use, either use, this means goodbye, but it's quite a formal
way of saying goodbye. Or they use, in
Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it, or they use. That's quite formal. But a less formal way of
saying goodbye is ciao. Ciao. It just means by tau. And it's used very often
in Brazil and Portugal. Tau. Then you have this next
phrase at the logo. The logo. It means see you
soon at the logo. So you can use a logo with
the words for goodbye. So you could say
ciao at the logo, which means bye, see you soon. The word or means until. If you put an a in front
of any time expression, it can mean see you whenever. At the logo means see
you soon, See you later. The word for Monday is
second the fighter. Or sometimes it's just
shorten to cylinder. So if you said at this ligand, that means see you on
Monday or adhesive on the fighter attached
annoyed at Ashton. Oid means see you tonight. Or in Brazilian Portuguese at the ethanol HE at the
external HE at the ammonia. Ammonia means see you tomorrow,
literally until tomorrow. So you can put anything after
at d to mean See you then. They will not tell.
They will not tell means see you at Christmas. So nutshell means Christmas, or a nice phrases at the mesh. They match or attain
mice. The mice. This means see you around. You can also use the phrase at a pattern plus a
period of time, e.g. at the para Samantha, a taper as the manor means, see you next week. See you next year. So you can't really translate these two phrases literally
because they mean until for the week or
until for the year. But you can use them as set phrases to mean.
See you next week. See you next year at the
palace Amana, a taper, one. Right? All of those expressions from
this little half less than down and use them as and when
you feel confident enough, you might just pick one way
of saying, how are you. One way to say, I'm fine, and one
way to say goodbye. But if you learn all
the expressions, at least you'll
know what everybody else is saying around you.
24. 28a - recap of previous lesson: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in
Portuguese, argue, will say esta or in or in the new. And now, How come? Well, B9 or main. How are you go moister or IM S2 or S2? He is yellowish
star or LES there. She is. Ls. Ls data. Busy. Busy in the feminine. Cocoa powder. Tired. Can saddle. Tired in the feminine. Can Sabah. In a hurry. Compressor. I'm not now I stole
or now I stole. He isn't even our star
or LE, now a star. She isn't l and r
star L and our star. Is he. Usda or alias that Ishi, LH star or LI star. Now here's your first
phrase for this lesson. We'll say vi will say why. It means, are you
going? We'll say why. The word was safe is optional. It's more optional in Portugal. In Brazil, they tend to use
both, say, quite a lot. But in Portugal you
can just say vi, vi. So we'll say vi. Vi, mean, are you going?
25. 28b - (você) vai: The phrase VO, say vi
means are you going? And you can use it with the word if you want to
put a place on the end. So our means to e.g. let's say our soup Mercado will say vi,
I'll Superman, cattle. Are you going to
the supermarket? So the word can join with
the word to make owl, which means to the upper two. Now, we'll say vi, upward to go. Are you going to Portugal? Now as well as the
word which means to. You can also use the word
butter in front of a place. So have a look at
these two examples. We'll say vi, vj, vi, upward to go. Are you going to Portugal? Will say vibe, but upward to go, we'll say via purport to go. This also means, are
you going to Portugal? Now, normally the
word para means full, as we've seen in many examples. But when you use it after any
form of go, are you going? Or we've also had
the word to go, which was ear, then
pan up can mean. The difference between a panther is that you use pattern when you plan on spending a long time at the place and you use when
you plan on coming back. So we'll say via port to go means are you
going to Portugal, perhaps just on holiday. But we'll say via
iPad app or to go means are you going to Portugal with no
plans to come back? So are you meeting to Portugal? The difference might be clearer
with these two examples. Kettle, ear to ear
apart together. I want to go to Portugal. So this means that you
want to go to Portugal for a short time, e.g. on holiday. Ear to go. Good to go. This means I want to go to Portugal and I don't
plan on coming back, so I want to move to Portugal. Ghetto ear periportal. Now, having said that, you will hear better and are being used interchangeably
in the spoken language. People might say something like ghetto ear will submit
cattle. Ear para. Meaning I want to go
to the supermarket. Even though nobody ever plans to go to the
supermarket forever. You will hear people
say this phrase, but it's actually
incorrect grammatically. It's quite a colloquial
way of speaking. It ought to be careful here. I'll submit Calvin ghetto
here. I'll soup Mercado. I want to go to the supermarket. I would say if in doubt,
just use, however, I just wanted to
show you how they use butter just in
case you ever hear it. So how would you
say in Portuguese, are you going to Pharaoh? Will say via phone
or via peripheral. So we'll say via phyto
means are you going to farrow just for a short
time for a holiday, e.g. whereas, we'll say
via peripheral means, are you off to Pharaoh
for a long time?
26. 28c - onde vs aonde: How would you say in Portuguese, what time are you
going to Portugal? Will say via port
to gown or orange. We'll say via port two down. Don't forget that
velocity vi upward to go means are you going to Portugal
just for a short time? Whereas velocity invite bad
apple together means are you going to Portugal to spend a long time or to
move there, e.g. now you can also put verbs on the end of what safe way, e.g. how would you say what time
are you going to have dinner? And don't forget
when you're talking about having food or drink, you tend to use the verb for
to take, which is doormat. So how would you say, what time are you
going to have dinner? Will say vitamin magenta. I could say Vitamix magenta. Are you going to
make a reservation? We'll say vi fuzzer. Will say vi fuzzier. Are
you going to hire a car? Will say vi algorithm cat, who will say vi algorithm? How would you ask,
where are you going? Our wonderful say vi, vj, vi. Now the word owned is a new one. We know that the
word for where in Portuguese is owned or OMG. So why did I use are
found in this question. Well, when you are saying where, the question is asking
where you're going to, you have to say
to where instead, which is around. The word owned. Or OMG means where. Our sound or allergy in
Brazilian Portuguese means to where our sound
or algae, e.g. on the velocity vi, where are you going? Or in Brazilian Portuguese? Orangey, we'll say by
literally in Portuguese. If you want to say,
where are you going, you have to say to
where are you going. And the word for to where
is owned or allergy. Velocity, vi, RNG will say vi.
27. 28d - vou: How would you ask, how
are you going to Lisbon? Promo will say violins bar, or gum will say vi
battle each bar. This means literally how
are you going to Lisbon? But in English,
we sometimes say, How are you getting to Lisbon? How would you ask, how
are you going to pay Como se vi by God? Will say bypass. How are
you going to pay the bill? Coma will say via
Bogata quanta column, we'll say vi Bogata quanta. How are you going to ever? We'll say vi, I
have water column. We'll say vi parabola. Now, there is a nice
little word that is related to velocity vi, and that's vo, volume. It means I'm going Woo. So how would you say I'm
going to farrow tomorrow? Wo our final ammonia. Ammonia. So just like
before you can say vo to mean I'm going
somewhere temporarily. And voc data means you're
going there more permanently. And also just like
before, you can add verbs onto the end of all. How would you say, I'm going
to make a reservation? Wool fuzz air Omaha
Omaha server. The word vol, which
means I'm going, is a good way of talking
about the future. In Portuguese, what you can
do is take Volvo and put any verb on the
end to say what it is you're going to do e.g. vote Bogata, rollback. I'm going to pay
VO alogrithm cow, whoa, whoa, algorithm cow. I'm going to hire a car. Alphas air, agenda
of both hands there. I'm going to make dinner. So Vo plus a verb means
I'm going to do something. And it's a good way
of talking about the future in Portuguese.
28. 28e - não vou: How would you say in Portuguese, I'm going to hire a car. Vole algorithm Calhoun,
VO, algorithm Calhoun. I'm going to pay for the wine. Volt by God, who we knew. Wobegon moving you. I'm going to have a T vote. Vote tomorrow. If we
make volt negative, we get now will now vote, which means I'm not going now. So we've had so far
in this lesson, we'll say vi, which means, are you going owned or allergy
in Brazilian Portuguese, which means to where. Vo means I'm going and now
vol means I'm not going. So how would you say I'm
not going to Lisbon? Now Vo eligible or
novel parallel bar. How would you say I'm not
going to make a reservation? Now vote for Zara. Zara, novel fuzzier. I'm not going to hire a car. Now we'll algorithm cow home. Novel algorithm got home. I'm not going to
pay for the wine. Novel Bogata movie, new novel, peg are moving you. I'm not going to have a t,
I'm going to have a coffee. Now hope tomorrow.
Water Mountain cafe. Now vote tomorrow shall
vote them out. And cafe.
29. 28f - estou vs sou: We've already learned
one way to say, I am, we had esto, esto or in
Brazilian Portuguese. But here's another
way to say I am. So, so, so remember a
couple of lessons ago, I told you that esto means I am. Now I'm telling you
that so means I am. But which one do you use? Well, I stole or S2 means I am. When you're talking about
temporary descriptions, e.g. H2O, H2O or Coupa Do I am busy. H2 can sell a stock canceled. I am tired. H2 wacky. I stole a key. I am here. So those
three sentences are temporary descriptions
because just because you're busy or tired or here right now, it doesn't mean you'll always
be busy, tired, or here. Therefore, you use SQL to mean I am when saying those phrases. However, saw, on the other hand, is used when you're
talking about a permanent description
of yourself, e.g. your name and nationality
are permanent things. So for those, you can use
soul to mean I am e.g. a. Soap bubble, soap OWL. I'm Paolo or so Maria. Maria. I'm Maria English. So English means I'm English. So poor. So poor to gosh. I am Portuguese. So you can use
soul to mean I am. When you're talking about
a permanent description, does your name or
your nationality. So let's see if you can
choose correctly between soul and S2 in these
following translations. How would you say in Portuguese, I am Paolo soap ALU. So Paolo, I am Maria. Maria. Maria. I
am here tomorrow. A key, ammonia. Ammonia. So when we're talking
about giving our name, we use soul because a name
is a permanent thing. Whereas in this
sentence I am here. Well, it's just a
temporary thing. So we say esto wacky ammonia.
30. 28g - (você) é vs (você) está: How would you say in Portuguese? Hello, I am Josie and I'd
like a table for two, please. Allot social the social Z. Deutsch, or in
Brazilian Portuguese. All are. So Josie economy Zapata do
is supportive of order. All our social z, my man's apparel,
toys, por favor. So in this lesson so far, we've had voice say vi, which means are you going? Whoa, means I'm going owned
or orangey means to wear. Novel means I'm not going. So means I am. When you're talking about a
permanent characteristic. Esto. Esto means I am when you're talking about a temporary
description or a location. In a similar fashion
to H2O and soul, which both mean IM. There are two ways to say, are you we've already
had Voss h star, or we'll say a star, which is used for temporary
descriptions or locations. But if you want to talk about
permanent characteristics, the second way of
saying are you, is VO say a vasa recta. The difference
between Voss H that, and we'll say a is the same
as the difference between S2. And so we'll say
Asda is used when you're talking about temporary
descriptions or locations. E.g. Wasatch, talcum powder, we'll say h Tau coupons. Are you busy? Wasatch that canceled?
That can saddle? Are you tired? Are you here? Those three questions use Voss h star because they're all talking about
a temporary thing. So busy, tired here, they're all temporary things. But you can use Vasa a to talk about permanent
descriptions. So things like names
and nationalities. Vasa agency will say Z, usual say or vasa is Sophia. We'll say Sofia. Sofia. Vo, say English. We'll say a English. Are you English? Was able to gauge, will say a portal, gosh. Are you Portuguese? Vasa recta. Vasa a, both mean Ru, will say a star is used when you're talking about temporary things. And we'll say a is when you're talking about permanent things.
31. 28h - (você) é vs (você) está: How would you ask him
Portuguese, where are you? On the Wasatch down
on the Wasatch star. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, orangey will say a star
on G for say a star. Are you Maria will say a, Maria will say a Maria. Are you Paolo? We'll say a pow will say, Are you tired? Voice? The hashtag can saddle, will say ash that can saddle. How would you say,
are you English? And the word for English
and Portuguese is English. Vasa, a English
will say English, or in Brazilian Portuguese
will say in glaze. We'll say a inlays. We've had Voss say vi, which means are you going? Whoa, means I'm going owned or orangey means to wear
novel. I'm not going. So means I am when you're giving a
permanent characteristic. S2 means I am when you're giving a temporary
description or a location, we'll say a means. Are you when you're giving
a permanent characteristic, will say esta, means are you when you're giving a
temporary description. Now, remember, in
the last lesson, I told you that I
will say a star. A star means how are you in a sense of
how are you feeling? That's because once
they hash star means are you when you're talking about a temporary description. So how are you feeling means how are you feeling right
now, gamma star. But if you use will say a instead and you said vasa recta, Well, literally it still
means how are you. But you can use it to ask
somebody what they look like. So we'll say a is
used to ask somebody, what do you look like? Literally, how in
terms of eye color, hair color, personality are you? So just remember
that when you're asking somebody how
they're feeling, use Como se Esta. This is because feeding
is a temporary thing, whereas characteristics
are a permanent thing. If you want to ask somebody
what they look like, you can say Como was say a
32. 28i - ele é & ela é: The phrase IL. Il means he is or in
Brazilian Portuguese, LEA. Lea, if you want to say she is, you'd say ala. Ala. But don't forget that
we've already learned how to say he is and she is. We had Eilish star and star. Star and LH star. Mean he is and she is when you're giving a
temporary description. Whereas ELA and ala a
mean he is and she is. When you're talking about
a permanent description. Just like before, you can use the permanent description of razors with things like
name and nationality. Everything else can use
the temporary phrase. How would you say in Portuguese, he is here tomorrow. Eilish Starkey,
ammonia. Ammonia. This is a temporary description. So you use a star or in
Brazilian Portuguese, LES stocky ammonia,
Elliot stat key, ammonia. How would you say he is Paolo? Ela pow. Pow or in
Brazilian Portuguese? Lea. Lea, a pow. Wow. How would you say he is English? Ell English. English or LEA English? Ellie, a. Inlays. She is very busy. Ella es Dann going
to occupy the LSTM, moving to a capella. Because we're saying she is, then the adjective for busy or cuboidal has to be
in the feminine, which is so-called bother. In Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce this sentence, el estar aqui para LI, stop moving to occupy data. So you pronounce it estar
rather than how would you say she is Sophia. Sophia. Sophia.
33. 28j - temporary and permanent: Temporary and permanent. Here are all the
words that we've been learning in this
lesson that we can use to give temporary descriptions
and also locations. We've had S2. S2, which means I
am Voss h star, vj star means are
you and Eilish star. And the star mean
he is and she is. In Brazilian
Portuguese, the S is pronounced more like an
S rather than an SH. So in European Portuguese we
have esto Esta and LH star. In Brazilian Portuguese we have esto Esta LES data,
analyze data. And then here are all the
words that we can use to give descriptions of permanent
characteristics. So, so means I am a vasa, a means are you and ELA or
LRA means he is and she is. Now you can make any
verb in Portuguese negative simply by putting
the word noun in front of it. So let's have a
look at how we can make all of these webs negative. Edge TO means I am now, S2 means I am not. What they Esta means. Ru will say now a star
means our u naught, Eilish data and LH, that mean he is and she
is evil now a star. And L and now A-star mean
he is not and she is not. So again, in
European Portuguese, the S is pronounced
like an S, H. Now I stole, will
say now a star, our star, L and R star. Whereas in Brazilian Portuguese, they pronounced more like an S. Now I stole most in our star, our star, L and R star. Now let's turn the
permanent whereas negative, so is I am now, so, now so means I am not. Vasa, a means, or you will
say now a voice say, no way. Are you not? La and LA mean he is and she is. You'll now J and L and
now I mean, he is not. And she is not. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I am not here tomorrow. Now, a stoichiometry. Now if stoichiometry in
Brazilian Portuguese, now I still archaea man, yeah. Now it's the wacky ammonia.
34. 28k - é vs está: How would you say in Portuguese? He isn't paolo, he's petro. You'll now have a bedroom. And a bedroom. She isn't diet. Ela knowledge that can saga. Now a stack and Santa. I'm not Portuguese. Now support to Gish. Now support to cash. Now, if you want
to make a question in Portuguese, it's really easy. All you have to do is put
a question mark at the end of any sentence and then raise your voice
slightly at the end. E.g. a bone. A bone means it is good. But if you put a question
mark at the end of it, you get a bone. A bone. That means is it good? So the phrases we had
for years and she is, can also mean is he and Ishi simply by putting a
question mark at the end of any sentences they are
in English, star and ELA. Both mean is he a lifestyle? And LA mean Ishi. So how would you ask in
Portuguese? Ishi, Maria. Maria. Maria. Is he English? English. English, or in
Brazilian Portuguese? Lea in glass, Ellie and glaze. Finally, let me just recap
a word that we've seen a lot in these three-minute
Portuguese courses. And that's the word
for, it is one of the very first words
that we learned in three-minute Portuguese was a, which I told you meant it is. A little later on we learned
the word estar en Esta. Both mean it is. You can use a when you're talking about any
permanent description. And the word star. When you're talking about
any temporary description or a location, e.g. what? Ashdod and a bone
or hashed around a bond. The restaurant is good, meaning it's always good. To h Tau Qu paddle around
a star called Babu, means the restaurant is busy. So just because the
restaurant is busy now, doesn't mean it's always
going to be busy. So we can use es Dann.
So we'll catch that. And to h Tau, who Babel, the restaurant is busy.
35. 28l - são vs estão: The words sound and edge
down both mean, or they are. Just like with the other words, we have a permanent
and temporary version. Sound is used to talk about
permanent descriptions. And edge down is
used to talk about temporary descriptions or
the location of something. Sound and edge down. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, S down, mean are, they are. So how would you say Paolo
and Maria, or Portuguese? Paolo e, Maria sample together. Powell in maria
sample two gases. Being Portuguese is something
that will always be true. So we use the permanent sun. How would you say Paolo
and Maria are here? Paolo e, Maria Ashton Mackey. Paolo e, Maria h comma k. So
this is a temporary thing. So they might not
always be here, so we can use them.
How would you say? Is it for me? Epidemiology. Epidemiology. Is it busy? A style called
battle that occupied room. It's very busy at
the restaurant. Taco Bell, who are hatched around each time
we start anther, or in Brazilian Portuguese, that might do
occupy our history. Orangey do occupied who
are hostile and Zhe, It's absolutely beautiful
here at the beach. But I'm going to the hotel. I'm very tired. The absolute mentally and wacky. Our prior mash VO out del H
don't want to consult them. A absolute demand to
Linda key or prior. Much row, our tail is
no mode to cancel them. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese you would say a absolute dementia leaned wacky our prior
mass, VO, our town. A stone, money to consult them. A absolute dimensional
into ikea prior mass. Vo, our tail stole
money to consume.
36. 28m - fica & ficam: In this lesson, we've
had will say vi, which means are you going? Whoa, means I'm going. And we said that you
can put the word after Vault to say I'm going to or if you're going somewhere for a
more permanent stay, you can say volt battery. You can also just put a verb on the end of Vo to say
what you're going to do. Then owned or ology
means to wear. Novel is, I'm not
going means I am. When you're talking about a
permanent description, e.g. your name or your nationality. Now so means I am not. S2. Or S2 can be used to mean I am when you're talking about a temporary description
or a location. Now I still now it's
still I am not a means. Are you when you're
talking about a permanent description,
will say No way. Are you not? Say a star or a star
means, are you, when you're talking about
a temporary description, will say now Ishtar, or we'll say now a star. Are you not? La and LA
mean he is. And she is. When you're talking about
a permanent description, we said that you can
turn any sentence into a question in
Portuguese just by putting a question
mark on the end and using your voice to make
it sound like a question. So if you said LA or LA, that means is he or she. You'll now a or L and now
means he isn't or she isn't. And don't forget
that the word ill in Brazilian Portuguese
is pronounced Ellie, Eilish star and
LH star or alias, that means he is and she is. When you're talking about
a temporary description, as a question, you would
say Isla Vista or LH star, which means is he or she will now Ishtar
or L and now Ashton, he isn't she isn't. The word a means. It is if you're talking about
a permanent description, whereas h star means it is if you're talking about
a temporary description. Similarly, some and edge down. Both mean are or they are. Some is used if
you're talking about a permanent description and edge down if you're talking about
a temporary description. And finally, I just
wanted to remind you of another couple of words we haven't seen in this lesson. Feca. Feca, which means it is when you're talking
about a permanent location. Remember that we can
remember this because it sort of looks
like the word fixed. It's a fixed location, FECA. Then fie, fie count means they are when you're talking
about a permanent location. So if you're talking about
where a building is, e.g.
37. 28n - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to
practice what we've been learning in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese, I'm going to the beach tomorrow. Wo our prior ammonia
will upaya ammonia. She is Sofia. Sofia. Sofia. I'm not Pedro now. So bedroom. Now. So bedroom. Where are you going to say vi and vj, vi. So literally you have to
say to where are you going? Or in English we might say, Where are you going
to the velocity vi? Or in Brazilian,
Portuguese, own devo. See why? What time are you
going to the restaurant? Will say why are
hashed out answer. I will say vi,
outpaced our answer. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, are gay or as a
vi, our histogram. Again, our hairstyle. Angie, is he Paolo? You will a pow. Pow or LEA? Lea, what do you look like? Goma will say a calm voice. Say a. I'm going to
the beach at 03:00. Vo a prior ashtrays or crash, or prior ashtrays or ash
in Brazilian Portuguese, will apply a stress or
as a pariah, a stressor. Whereas I'm not going to
the restaurant tonight. I'm too busy. Now who are hashed out and dashed
annoyed, occupied the mesh. Now Vo averaged out
and test annoyed, occupied with the mesh. Or in Brazilian, Portuguese. Novel are hairstyle
and gs don't know HE stole or Coupa dodgy mice. Now Vo, our JSR and JSRR know HE is still occupied legitimize. I'm going to hire a car. Will algorithm Calhoun
VO, algorithm Calhoun.
38. 28o - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? I wonder will say vi. Vi. Where are you going? To bomb our
restaurant message TO canceled the mesh,
evolve out them. A moment to bomb our
restaurant message, TO consulted the mice,
evolved our town. It's very good at
the restaurant, but I'm too tired
and I'm going to the hotel. Miser coupon. Coupon. He is busier. We'll say vi Tamar will say
via automatic uncoupled. When you are you going
to have a glass of wine, will say vi upaya,
Jose via prior. Are you giving to the beach now? So Maria now so Maria maria will say via Laurasia are Kourosh
will say via lotion. What time are you
going to the shop? Now? Support to gauge now. So poor. I'm not Portuguese. H, H, H, H to move to this restaurant is very busy. Now, Novel parallel each bar
will better able to now, now go polish bar,
volt battery era. No, I'm not going to
Lisbon. I'm going to ever.
39. 28p - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: What we'll do now are some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How do you say in Portuguese? I would like to hire a
small car for two people. These Keto Alan Gordon Gallup again, Jewish massage slash border. God. Again. But I do wish
Priscilla special order. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
ghetto algorithm cow who began by Louis Pessoa, supportive care, well, who
got on cow hope again, but I do espresso
as port of arrival. It's for her. A better ala. Ala. How much is a table
for three people? Quantile Cousteau, oh my gosh. Quantile slash. That is too small for me. Issue it again on the match, spammy, iso it
again on the match. But I mean, can I have a room for two people
for three nights, please? Enquire to produce Pessoa
for threshold voltage. Fast fiber. Also inquire to produce plus
always portrays noise level. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, possible to produce
PESTLE as portray snow, which is part of our hotel, inquire to produce pesto as
portraits, which is portable. I would like to
make a reservation here for three people, please. Fuzzier and fuzzier, hazard of our key but attached
massage slash my border. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
get over there. Oh my hazard of
our key patterns. Pestle as por favor. Carol fuzzer, hazard, wacky podiatrist
PESTLE as por favor. I would like to go at 02:45. Ear against the parents trash, guru, ear against
the parish trash. Or in Brazilian, Portuguese, Iraqis z plus stress. We're at Kinsey plus stress. I think it's
absolutely fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. But AMI, a absolute domains, fantastic room or in Brazilian Portuguese. But I mean a absolute
dimension fantastical. But ME, a absolute
dementia, fantastic. I'm not going to have dinner at the restaurant this evening. Now watermark, Hu Jintao,
historian test annoyed. Now vote tomorrow Gentile are
histone and test annoyed. The phrase etched
annoyed literally means tonight or this night. And so you can use
to mean tonight or this evening when you're talking about late
in the evening. If you want to say
this evening and say a little bit
earlier in the evening, you can say H that
data, h that data, the extra noise and h
both mean this evening. Late evening and age
data is earlier evening. In Brazilian Portuguese,
they're pronounced es Dann Neu, G and S, that allergy. Finally, how would
you ask, is he busy? H Tau h Tau coupon?
40. 28q - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Our core as they will
begin on most of ammonia, our code as they open
channel Muslim idea. What time is breakfast tomorrow? May well Mosul a absolute
amount per flight to who may well muscle
absolute demand per phi to. My lunch is absolutely perfect. Comb-over siesta, common with their star. How are you? Both to our ear and our airport to can I go to the airport? Doormat reminder
who are scattered a doormat be made or who
I should get it done. Take the first Road on the left. Quantile coastal
protection whitish. How much is it for
three nights in mind? Lindow. In mind to Lindow. It's very beautiful. Good, we're good. We're about aria. I would like to
go to the bakery. Sound daisy. Daisy kinsmen. It's 10:15 volt or marvin, you vote tomorrow venue. I'm going to have some wine.
41. 29a - recap of previous lesson: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in
Portuguese? Are you going? We'll say vi. I'm going to wear around or allergy. I'm not going novel. I am if you're talking about
a permanent description. So I am not now so I am if you're talking about
a temporary description or a location, S2 or S2? I am not. Now I stole
now I still owe you. If you're talking about
a permanent description, we'll say a or u naught
will say No way. Are you, if you're talking
about a temporary description, will say Esta over say a star. Are you not? Say now
a star or a star? He is or she is. When you're talking about
a permanent description. La or LA. Is he or she? La. La. He isn't more. She isn't. You'll now a 0
L and now he is or she is. When you're talking about
a temporary description, Eilish star or LH, that is he or she. English star or LH star. He isn't. She isn't. You'll now I
wish that LL now I star. It is when you're talking
about a permanent description? It is when you're talking about a temporary description. Esta
42. 29b - o senhor: Here's your first
word for this lesson. Senor. Senor. It means Mr. Senor. So how would you
say in Portuguese? Hello, I'm Mr. for Haida. Haida. Haida, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, the surname will be pronounced
for Hailar, for Hara. How would you say Where is Mr. Santos? On their staff with single Santos on
their staff within your samples or in Brazilian
Portuguese on JSTOR, within your samples, on j
star within your Santos, You missed a silver. Silver. Silver. So don't forget
that in Portugal, you tend to miss
off the word bossy. Whereas in Brazil,
you would say var, say a will send your silver, will say a will
send your silver. So all senior means
Mr. A Senora. The same euro means Mrs. a. Senora. So how would
you say in Portuguese, is she Mrs. Lopez? Ella. Ella es singular lowpass, or in Brazilian Portuguese? Ala. Ala, a similar law piece. Where is Mrs. Sosa? On their star? A senior associate. A Senora Sosa. Hello, I'm Mrs. Oliveira. A Senora Oliveira. Allow a Senora Oliveira or
in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it Oliveira. Oliveira.
43. 29c - a senhora: So we've had all Senor, which means Mr. a. Senora, which means Mrs. and then here's the last word for
this trio of honorifics. A senior ITA, a senior Rita. It means miss a thing ureter. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I'm not miss Fernandez now, so a single
read Fernandez now. So as seniority,
different language or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it
fed an Angie's non-Jews. How would you ask somebody? Are you Miss Gomez? Asn ureter Gomez,
ASN ureter Gomez. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, will say ASN or eat the gametes, will say ASN ureter Gomez. She is Miss pin tool. Lisn ureter P into
L, ASN European to. In English, you
rarely ever write the full words for Mr.
and Mrs. et cetera. You tend to use the
abbreviations MR or MRS. Well, there are similar abbreviations
in Portuguese as well. So instead of writing,
boosting your, you can write 0 SR,
and then a full stop. And that stands for Mr. Wilson, you instead of writing a Senora, you can write a SRA
and then a full stop. That stands for Mrs, a Senora. And instead of writing
a saying ureter, you can write a as our
TA and then a full stop. And that means
miss a senior ITA. How would you say I'm
Mr. Carter value. So new car value. So loosen your car value. I'm Mrs. Almeida. So a same euro, Almeida. So a single Ramadan or
in Brazilian Portuguese, Almeida. I'm Miss Elvis. Elvish. So same urethra Elvish, or in Brazilian Portuguese, the name will be
pronounced Elvis.
44. 29d - chamo-me: Here's a useful phrase
in Portuguese, sham. Sham. It means I'm called
or My name is Sham. Just note that in Brazil, they consider sham to
sound a bit formal. They understand it, but they
use this phrase instead. A mission. A mission. That's the Brazilian
phrase for IM called. Remember when I told
you about how in Portugal they don't
tend to use vos. Say, I said that in
phrases such as, let's say a star,
and we'll say vi. The Brazilians will use the word var say, whereas in Portugal, they prefer just
to use the words esta and y by themselves. Well, the same is true with
the word Ale, means eye. And it's used quite
commonly in Brazilian Portuguese when we learned the words postal,
vote and Carol, which mean can I, I'm going and I would like, you could have put
the word in front of them and got AU possible. Which means can I a oval? I'm going I would like you don't have to put the word a or in front of
these in Brazilian Portuguese, but you will hear
it quite commonly. In Portugal. They prefer
to miss off the word AL. So they would just say
postal, vote and care. And that's why we have
two different ways of saying, I'm cold. So we had chamomile, which means I'm
called in Portugal. And Michelle means
I'm called in Brazil, is an interesting phrase
because literally it means I call myself. The word Shamil or a
al-Sham means I call, and the word moon or me in Brazilian Portuguese,
means myself. You can hook the word,
move onto the end of shampoo to get
chamomile. Chamomile. But once you put a U in
front of this phrase, the murmur or me in Brazilian
Portuguese has to move. So you get a, you,
Michelle. Michelle. Don't worry too much
about this for now, but it will come
in useful later. Just for now,
remember the phrase from whichever form of
the language or learning. So in Portugal,
you say chamomile. In Brazil, you say a Michelle. They mean I'm cold
or My name is. How would you say
I'm called Santiago. Chamomile Santiago. Santiago. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Am Michelle Santiago. Santiago. How would you say I'm called Maria chamomile. Maria. Chamomile, Maria
or Michelle Maria. Maria.
45. 29e - tenho: How would you say in Portuguese? I'm called Leonore. Chamomile. Leonore.
Chamomile Leonore or in Brazilian Portuguese? A sham Leonore. A0 Michelle, I'm Leon older. I'm called Raphael Barbosa. Chamomile have i, Gail Barbosa, shall moma have Barbosa. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, am Michelle have Barbosa, AU Michelle have IL Barbosa. I'm called Carolina Korea. Chamomile Catalina Cahokia,
chamomile Catalina Korea. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Able Michelle Moore,
Catalina Cahokia. Am Michelle Catalina go haha. I'm called Mariana Viera. Chamomile. Mariana the IRA. Chamomile Mariana V. Ira
or in Brazilian Portuguese A0 Michelle Mariana via Ada
AU Michelle Mariana via ITA. Now here's your final
word for this lesson. Ten you, ten you. It means I have Daniel. And don't forget that in Brazil, it's quite common
to use the word AU, which means I in front of verbs. So he would say a
huge, thank you. Daniel. I have I will just
say I have a reservation. Dan, you Matt has era. Aota new era. Hello. I'm Mrs. Santos
and I have a reservation. So we'll send your sample
it then you will magazine cover as a Yoda sound to it. Then you magazine cover. I have a ticket for every bar. Then you bill yet to butter era. Then you embed yet by the FDA. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AUT new embryology, parabola. A parabola. I have a car. Then you go home and you
think you empower them. So in this lesson we've
had boosting your, which means Mr. a. Senora, meaning Mrs. a
single Rita is Miss. Sham Oma means I'm called in Brazilian Portuguese
you would say AU mission. And then Daniel means I have. And we've learned that in Brazil they use the word AU
quite a lot to me. I am. Thank you. Whereas in Portugal, they
tend to miss it off.
46. 29f - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. I would just say in
Portuguese, Good evening, I'm Mr. Marquez and I'd like a table for three people
at 08:00 tonight, please. So using your markers E mummies as way toward as a
stone whitish trash traveler. Within your markers. It can measure by
the trash pathology. As always, the water just
don't know it specify border. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it. Both allergy. So within your mark is e meso pilot trespass psoas as always toward as
external HE por favor. How would you ask
are you Mrs. peers, ASME or a parish? Asn your peers, or in Brazilian Portuguese
will say ASN your PDs. We'll say ASN, you're a PDS. I have a reservation for four
people and I'm mismatch. Then you might hazard of a
paraquat through Pessoa. Is so a seniority tomatoes, a new magazine of a paraquat trapezoid is
so essentially tomatoes. I have a map of Pharaoh, but I would like a map of error. Can you map the
final mascara map, deborah, then you map
the file mosquito map. They have woah. I'm
called Josie Ramis. Chamomile, Josie Hamish. Chamomile, Josie harmless. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, shampoo is just the hamulus. Michelle, just a harmless. I'm not missing Mendez. I'm called Beatrice maria. Now. So a single Amanda, shall mama bear Trish Merida now so a semi-automatic
chamomile, bearish Merida, or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Now so as annual demand is A0, Michelle Beatrice more Ada. Now solace and neuraminidase. Am Michelle Beatrice more Ada. I have a reservation
for tomorrow. Dan, you imagine Zara parameter. Yeah. You better. Ammonia. Hello. I'm called Paolo Shamil, rebel, Ola chamomile bowel, or in Brazilian Portuguese. All our aim is shampoo bottle. Ola, am Michelle mobile. Hello, I'm Maria and I
have a reservation for two Ola Sumeria it then you matter server, but I'd wish all
our Sumeria it then you might observe a pattern which you can put the word AU, which means I in
front of any verb. That means I is IM. So you can say a muscle, just like tenure means I have
and we can say a butane, you all are able. So Maria E, a new paradigm which is quite common to do
that in Brazilian Portuguese, but not so much in
European Portuguese. How would you say where
is Mrs. Martin's? A semi-automatic tinge on the star is in the
automatisch or in Brazilian Portuguese
on the estar SNU automatic genes on Jay
sta, senior alkenes.
47. 29g - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Will say yes, and
Jocasta will say yes. Then you are Acosta. You, Mrs. Koster. Know now Solis thing
you gotta for Haida. Haida. Now. Now so a scene yada, yada. So a senior a pariah? No, I'm not Mrs. Ferreira.
I'm Mrs. Pereira. Euro? Yes. And your low pitch
Senora is Senior Lopez. Mrs. and Mr. Lopez, Our last thing European to come by or last thing
European to co-move. Bye. Hello, Mr.
Pinto. How are you? Now you might have
noticed that I didn't say all sing european
two in this one, I just said sing your pin tool. And that's because
when you're talking directly to somebody, you don't have to
use the word for in front of Mr. or Mrs. or miss. So you can just say,
oh, last thing got Pin Tool instead of
all our European too. So that's if you're
greeting them directly, you will notice a similar
thing with this next sentence. To do bind singular value. The bias in your car value. How are things missus Ka value? Or is everything Well, Mrs. core value of some European to LA
boosting your pin two. Is he Mr. Pinto? Now ill. Now way of
saying your core value, you will use in your cruise. Now, you will now using your coelom IL a
within your groups. Now here's a mystical
way you, he's Mr. Cruz. Daniel got wacky. Then you encounter wacky. I have a car here. Dan
you on television, much novels, the owner. Then you, until you be some
rationale from the owner. I haven't television
but it doesn't work. Then you get to
the EDA, mascara, Emilia to the EDI Volta. Then you Emilia to the EDA mascara and
bilayer to the EDI Volta. I have a one-way ticket, but I would like
a return ticket.
48. 29h - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese? Take the second row on the left and then the
first road on the right. Who asked either
push up reminder, Who are the writer? Thomas, who are scared? The push up reminder
who are at the right. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, doma. Second that who I scared. Either boys are pre-made. Who are Adelaide? Told me a second to
who I Scalar II, the boys are pre-made
or who are agile data? Are you going to take the taxi with me by tomorrow? Toxic amigo will say vital
motto, taxi Camille. I'm going there tomorrow. Vo Ali, ammonia,
or don't forget, you can also use the word
AU in front of I verbs. So you can say AU
Valley ammonia. How would you say I'm Sophia? Sophia. Sophia. Can I have that in green? Bustle dairy? So I invited them both. There is two I invited. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
parcel there is to invert g or you can use the
word AU at you puzzled, that is to invert g. I would like to go
to the cinema tomorrow. We're all seen them ammonia, get weird cinema ammonia. It's too small for me. It began with the
mesh, but I mean, it began the match. Pardon me. Excuse me. How much is
a bottle of wine here? Currently, senza Quantico star, omega half of the venue wacky. Only senza quantile Cousteau omega half of the beam Iraqi. I would like a ticket
for Barcelona. Please get the parabolic cylinder, especially for butter
Barcelona such fab order or in Brazilian
Portuguese ghetto, MBA, HE better
Barcelona, Porto fiber. He para Barcelona, Porto five or my tea is
absolutely terrible. Militia a absolute
amid the reveal, who may share a absolute
demands that they are evil.
49. 29i - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Ghetto, enquire to combat panda. Get to convert Rhonda. I would like to room
with a balcony. Am cow hope again is through
AON care. Hope again. That's a small car. Will say h Tau cuboidal, and we'll say Ashdod
occupied. Are you busy? Issue a mash? Now
I'm going to burn, but I mean, he sue a
delicious doesn't match. Now I'm way to one part of me that is delicious, but it
isn't very good for me. Ghetto fine mesh, sign ash, the bolus special border. Again, we'll Franco
much sign ash to abolish slash whiteboard. I would like the chicken, but without the unions, Please. Only senza, a delivery zone. Now from Sirona. Only senza
at activism. Now from Sirona. Excuse me, the
television doesn't work. But Emmy absolutely
meant to need wacky. But ME, a absolute
demand leaned wacky. I think it's absolutely
beautiful here now, but I'm Neil big album now, but I'm usually double. Not for me. Thank you. Gustave in the uterus podia will push that
knee into euros per dia. The car is 20 h per day. And we'll say Ashton
want to cancel. We'll say Ashdod to cancer. Are you very tired?
50. 30a - em nome de: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese, Mr. Senor? Mrs. a. Senora. Miss a thing you Rita. I'm called in
European Portuguese. Chamomile. I'm called in Brazilian
Portuguese. You, Michelle. I have daniel, or
a good thing you, Here's your first
phrase for this lesson. I normally do. I normally do. It means in the name
of I normally do. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it a normal G. A G. So how would you say I have a reservation
in the name of Smith? Daniel magazine cover? I normally the Smith. Daniel Silva. Normally the Smith or in
Brazilian Portuguese. A butane you Omaha
server, a normal Smith. A butane you Omaha
server, enormous Smith. It's in the name of mat push. A normal tomato, a
normal The motto. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a normal edematous, a
enormous edematous. You have a reservation in
the name of Rodriguez. My gosh. Time magazine cover. I normally don't hold three fish or in Brazilian Portuguese. Then my sativa, NAMI
jihad rigorous. Then instead of a
NAMI jihadi guess. My reservation is in
the name of Koster. Has ever normally Acosta reservoir a anomaly Acosta
Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Armenia has Server a enormous
D'Costa amino alpha, a normal g cos theta. The table is in the
name of parish. A meso. Meso, a
normal the parish, or in Brazilian, Portuguese
America, a normal GP. This amazed that a nominee GPS.
51. 30b - reservei: Here's your next
word in Portuguese, and it's a verb in
the past tense. Has that has antibody. It means I have reserved or
I have booked. Hazard of AI. In Brazilian Portuguese, you
pronounce it has a survey, has a hazard or hazard way. I have reserved
or I have booked. So how would you say
I've booked a table? Has that my Meza has
advised my meso, or in Brazilian
Portuguese has meso. And you can also put
the word AU in front of this word EO, survey, Meza. Don't forget that a 0
means eye and they use it in Brazilian Portuguese more
than in European Portuguese. How would you say I
reserved a table? Has that mesa. It's the same. I've
reserved and I've walked are the same
in Portuguese. Were in Brazilian Portuguese, AU has surveyed my meso. How would you say in Portuguese? I've reserved a table for three people in
the name of guns. Solvus has that H plus so much I
normally can salvage, has advised my maze. I normally can salvage or in Brazilian Portuguese has
elevated or my major but addressed by psoas and
normally Consult Service. Has array or my major
para trespass psoas, major consolidators. In this lesson so far we've had, I normally do or a normal G, which means in the name
of and has advised or AU hazard means I've
reserved and I've booked. How would you say I've booked
a room for two people. But I do wish Pessoa to produce more in
Brazilian Portuguese has required to
produce specialise. Au hazard inquired
to specialise.
52. 30c - alterar: Here's your next
word in Portuguese, and it happens to
be another verb. Out there are out there. It means to change. You can see that we
get the word altar from the same place that
this comes from Altair. So how would you
say in Portuguese, can I change my reservation? Postal out there are ammonia
reservoir, Basu out there. Ammonia reservoir. I would
like to change my reservation. Ammonia reservoir, ghetto
Altera, a media server. I'm going to change
my reservation. Vo out there are amino has ever VO out there
are amino reservoir. Are you going to change the reservation
via alphabet are, as I said, java will say vi
out there are, as I said, the word bossy is optional
and it tends to be used more in
Brazilian Portuguese than in European Portuguese. And also I will
just point out that the three phrases we had
before that where we said, can I change my reservation? I would like to
change my reservation and I'm going to
change my reservation. You could have put a U in
front of all those verbs. So AU parcel out
that Armenia server. Can I change my reservation? A eukaryote, there
are amino Silva. I would like to change
my reservation. A VO out there,
Armenia has alpha. I'm going to change
my reservation. So the AU is optional. And again, it's used a
lot more in Brazilian Portuguese than it is
in European Portuguese. The word out there
are means to change. And you can change the
end of Altair out a little and we get this
out there, owl out there. It means to change it. So what we've done is removed the r from the end of Altair, put an accent on the a, then put a hyphen
and L 0 on the end, and that L0 or lu means it. So alphabet allo
means to change it. So how would you say, I'm
going to change it tomorrow? Vo out there. Ammonia or a Yuval out there. Ammonia.
53. 30d - it: So we saw that Alphabet. Alphabet allo,
means to change it. You can put little elbow on the end of any
verb to mean it. However, you have to take the
are off the end of the verb first and also put an
accent on the letter a. So it becomes a with
an accent hyphen L, just like in alphabet, which means to change it. Algol, e.g. ALU Gallo means to hire it. So we have Aligarh
means to hire. And we take the are off, put an accent on the a, and then add hyphen L 0
to the end and we get algol to hire it tomorrow. Tomorrow means to take it. If the verb has an E in front
of the R instead of an a, then we have to make the E
into an E with an accent, but this one has a
circumflex accent. E.g. Fas and Fas L
means to make it. So the circumflex accent is like a little hat on
top of the e facile. Another example is Gmail. Gmail, which means to eat it. However, you know
how Portuguese nouns can be either feminine
or masculine? Well, the, it can change depending on what
it's referring to. E.g. if you want to
say can I change it? And you're talking about
changing a reservation, then it would be feminine
because the word has alpha is feminine in Portuguese. The feminine word for
it in Portuguese is LA. La. Therefore, you would
say parcel out there ala, boss to Altair ala. So every time you want
to put it with a verb, think is it masculine
or feminine? And use the word Lou
accordingly. So possible. Altair ala means can I change it when you're referring
to something feminine, such as the reservation, which is a hazard over
on the other hand, Basu out there as possible, out there means can I change it when you're referring
to something masculine? E.g. the project, can I change? It? Can change the
project possible that the project in Portuguese is
a masculine noun or project. So just to clarify, out there and out there, ala both mean to change it. So how would you say
I have a reservation, but I would like to change it. Can you match
ghetto of that ala, Ala, Daniel woman has ever
mosquito out there ala. So we say that
alpha because it's referring to the reservation,
which is feminine. The word fur coat in Portuguese is Kazakh, as we've
already seen. So it's a masculine noun. So how would you say
I have this code, but I would like to change it. Daniel H, The Kazakhstan
mosquito else that you tend, UH, the Kazakh mosquito.
54. 30e - lo / la: How would you say in Portuguese, I'm going to pay it. And you're referring
to paying the bill, which is a feminine
noun in Portuguese. Volt by gala, a vote
by gala. Can I pay it? And again, you're referring
to a feminine noun. Boss who buy gala. A
boss who buy gala. Here's another word with
Lou on the end of it. But our vowel, vowel, it means to try it but a value. So how would you
say Can I try it? Possible provide a
super, super vowel? I would like to try it. Get approval. I'm going to try it will provide a overall profile. Are you going to try it? Viper value, we'll
say Via Pro value. So in this lesson
so far we've had, I normally do or in Brazilian
Portuguese in NAMI G, which means in the name
of has their survey. Or resurvey, means I have
reserved or I have booked. Alphabet are means
to change out that al means to change it by Gallo, means to pay for it and
provide a means to try it. We learned that you can put
Lew on the end of any verb. And it means it, or you have to do is
remove the r from the end of the verb and then
put an accent on the a. We also said that if you
have a word that ends in E, the accent on the E has to
be a circumflex accent. So far Zell or Fazlollah both mean to make it as L is the
masculine way of saying it. I'm Fazlollah is the
feminine way of saying it. Now we've already
learned the word fuzzy, which means to make
in Portuguese, but it also has a
second meaning, as air can also mean to do. Therefore fuzzier and fuzzier Ella can mean to
make it or to do it. So how would you
say in Portuguese, can I do it tomorrow? Ammonia. Ammonia.
55. 30f - agora: How would you say in Portuguese? I'm going to make it tomorrow. Evolve as L ammonia. Ammonia. What time are
you going to do it? By Fas L. I got what
I will say a wife as L. Now here's
another time phrase, word a Gora Agoda. It means now I go into. So how would you
say in Portuguese? I am here now. The wacky Agoda. Wacky Agoda. Can I do it now? I'm too busy now. Install a goo Babel the
mesh Agoda, stole a goo, bottled water, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
is still occupied. Oh gee my Saguaro. Aua stole my sagwa. Are you going to do it now? Vive la Guerra will
say vive la Guerra. I would like to
change it now please. Whereas freshwater or
ghetto alphabet Alpha. I'm going to pay it now. Vote by Galois, gotta
vote by Gallo, Agoda. Here's another time
phrase, myostatin. Myostatin. It means later, literally more late my data. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it my strategy. My strategy. How would you say, can I pay later? Postal Bogata, my standard? Possible by God, my startled
or in Brazilian Portuguese. Both Tupuxuara, my strategy, both to Baghdad, my strategy. How would you say
can I pay it later? Possible by Gallo, my style, possible bugaboo, my startled, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Both to bugaboo, my
strategy, my strategy.
56. 30g - mais tarde: How would you say in Portuguese, I'm going to the beach later. We'll apply image data, the VO apply image data, or in Brazilian Portuguese, VO, applying my strategy, a vo, a prior my strategy. I would just say,
I'm too busy now, but can I do it later? H2 occupied with the mice
Agoda, mash possible, possible my startled,
occupied with the mica Gora match my style. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, still occupied,
legitimize or Gora. My spouse who
follow my strategy, a USDA occupied my Saguaro, must parcel fuzzy
on my strategy. I'm going to change
everything later. Vo out there are too much data. We'll out there are two, my startled or in
Brazilian Portuguese, VO, out there to do my strategy. You vote, there are
two, my strategy. So in this lesson, we've had
I normally do or a NAMI G, which means in the name of
hazard or hazard survey, means I have reserved
or I booked out there. Means to change. Is to change. It means to pay for it, to try it, to make
it, or to do it. And all of these
verbs that we have, Lew on the end of, we can change the loop to learn if it's referring
to a feminine noun. So you can say Fasciola, e.g. then we had a Gora, which means now. And my status. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, my strategy means later
or literally more. Late. Mesh means more and more. Energy means late.
57. 30h - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How do you say in Portuguese? I have a reservation
in the name of Lopez. Magazine cover. I normally loop. Then you magazine cover
I normally the low pitch or in Brazilian
Portuguese. Then you Omaha server,
a nonideal lowpass. A. You. Thank you.
Hi, Sarah Lopez. Do you have a reservation
in the name of Smith? Time magazine cover? I normally Smith time. I normally the sniff or in Brazilian Portuguese
will say, Oh, my server, a nominee Smith was sitting on
my server, a normal v. Smith. I'm going to do it later. Evolve as much tiled roof as l, my startled or in Brazilian
Portuguese, my strategy. And you evolve as
l, my strategy. Can I try it now? Both to provide you
post supervisor, what are you going to try it? Viper vowel will
say vi probe alum. I'm not going to change
the reservation. Navajo out that add a new
novel out there are over. I've booked a table in
the name of Santos. Because everybody my Meza, I normally listen to my Meza. I norm the sample. Or in
Brazilian Portuguese, has a survey on my Meza, a NAMI de Santos has their way on my mayors
or a normal De Santos. I'm here now. As dorky Agoda, AU Starkey, Agoda. Are you here later? Snarky much data. The key my styled in
Brazilian Portuguese. And we'll say a
stocky, my strategy will say a stocky my strategy. I'm not going to pay for it now. Now vote by Galois. A will now vote by Galois Gora.
58. 30i - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Has advised to
perish than width, has advised enquire to
punish the annoyed. I've booked a room for tonight. Out there, Armenia,
instead of a gain wealth, there are amino has alpha. I would like to change
my reservation. Supernova Gora. Gora. Can I try it now? I will say life as a wife, as L. What time are you going to do it? Has that if I wash my hands
up but a trespasser wash, I have booked a table
for three people. Has that means
hyperammonemia, ashtrays, a rash is that if I mess up para ammonia
ashtrays or rash, I booked a table for
tomorrow at 03:00. Novel provide novel profile. I'm not going to try it. H do I keep my
style did combine. H do I keep my style
that I'm buying? I'm here later as well. Bogata water, ghetto, Bogata. I would like to pay now. Novels as L1. Now Vo fuzzy. I'm not going to do it now.
59. 30j - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: What we'll do now are some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese, it's half-past for
some quieter omega, some quatro in Maya. Are you very busy? Each time we talk about them? Each time point to occupied
or in Brazilian Portuguese, we'll say estimate
to occupy them, will say, stop my dog. Do you have a table
for two time? My major part of Jewish. Jewish or in
Brazilian, Portuguese. Mostly thing, my
maze, a paradise. Paradise. It isn't
always good here. Now is same problem wacky. Now i same probe wacky. Are you going to pay
the bill for me? Vi bag article on the
bottom. We'll say vi Bogata. The heating doesn't work. What Gethsemane now from Sirona. What Gethsemane two
now from Sirona. I am here tomorrow. Starkey ammonia. A wish the wacky ammonia. I would like a tea kettle. I'm not going to the beach. Now woah pariah, Nevada. Take the third root on the

Brazilian Portuguese, dummy data who are

are agitate them, told me at their status,
who are scattered? The E the boys who

60. 30k - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What do these Portuguese

fantastic year. Puzzle Tamar, who can
pour Gu, possible Tamar? Who are the poor? Can I have the pork?
61. 31a - (você) quer: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese, in the name of I normally do, or in Brazilian
Portuguese? A NAMI G. I have reserved, has advice or hazard way to change out there. To change it out
there, to try it. Profile, to do it, or to make it as l. Now, I go into later my styled in Brazilian
Portuguese, my strategy. Now here's a useful
word in Portuguese. Care. It means do you want care? And just like before
you can add voice, say in front and
say we'll say care. And this is more commonly used
in Brazil and in Portugal. So get over, say care means
do you want how would you say Do you want to try it out? Was they care Provo? You want to try the cheese? Care provider? Care provider in Brazilian Portuguese
will say care provider, occasional votes, they
get a provocation. Do you want to make
a reservation? Java will say, Do you
want to do it now? Get it says L1 will say careful. You want to pay the bill. Categorical data. We'll say get it
back into contact. Do you want to hire a car? Get an algorithm.

62. 31b - question words: How would you say in Portuguese? Do you want to do it later? Careful as L0, my
standard care facility, my stardom in Brazilian
Portuguese will say careful Zulu. My study will say careful
Zillow my strategy. So care over, say care
means do you want. As you've seen in
the examples so far, you can put any verb
on the end of care. However, you can
also put things in front of care over say care. Specifically question
words. So far, we've only had a
few question words, but we'd be meeting some
more in later lessons. The ones we've had so
far are owned or OMG, which means where our
code hash or a K or US, which means what time means
how our bond or orangey means to where we can put any of those four question
words in front of care or vasa care
to ask a question. E.g. como care PAGA. Care by God means how
do you want to pay? Or gumbo, say care beggar. So how would you ask
it in Portuguese? What time do you want dinner? I got scared. I got what I will say. Can we jump into what time do you want to go to the beach? I got what I scared. I got
what I will say carrier prior. Where do you want to go? On the good ear? On the good ear. So literally you're saying
to where do you want to go? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, allergy was they'd get ear
on the votes. They get ear. Where do you want
to have breakfast? On the automatic OOP again, one muscle on the vasa care tomorrow beginning will Massu. How do you want to pay? Como padres? Como
was it get bigger?
63. 31c - comer: Here's another verb for
you to use in Portuguese. Compare, compare. It means to eat. So how would you say,

65. 31e - verbs with "it": How would you say in Portuguese, do you want to automate now? Pd-l1 Gora, Gora. So when you add lw to a verb, you take off the r from
the end of the verb and then use a hyphen to join
the loo onto the end. If you look at
these three verbs, compare, which means TBI, which means to eat and
Betty year or per year, which means to order. We can see how we add the
LU to the ends of them. So if you have an
AR verb, like can, you take off the r and you add an acute accent to the a
before you add the loop. So you get comparable,
comparable. And that means to buy it. If we look at an AR, verbs are committed, which means to eat, we take off the r
and then we add a circumflex accent to
the e. So we get CML. Cml, which means to eat it. Then with an IR verb, or you have to do
is take off the r. You don't need to do
anything with the eye. So Betty, paddy loop, or in Brazilian Portuguese, Peggy Lu means to order it. Now let's add a new question
word to our collection. Walker. Walker. It means what? Hooker, in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it
more like, okay. Okay. So how would you say,

compare means to eat, better ear, or pg

care of their owl, or in Brazilian Portuguese, a few minutes early, but less than witchy, must
vote, they get out there. Eu has a survey on my amazing highly pedestrian
witchy mass out there. Do you want to try it? Was a carrier profile. What do you want it to do Now? Who could care for zeta Gora? Was they care for their Agoda? I'm not going to eat now. I've walked a table at
the restaurant for later. Now vocal Mira Gora

72. 32a - Building Structures: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in
Portuguese, what? To order? Pde year? Or do you want care or care to drink? Baby? Today? Owes you to eat. Compare building structures. You've now amalgamated
quite a collection of Portuguese words and phrases. And you've started to
learn how to put them together to build sentences. What we're going to start
doing now is learning to speak more quickly and without
having to think so hard. I'm going to introduce you to a technique called
building structures. This technique will
start to help to clarify the different structures of the Portuguese language, as well as make it
more like a reflex. This means you'll
be able to speak naturally and not have to
think everything through. Like it's a mass equation. The whole of the
Portuguese language is made up of different
structures of words. If you know the words and you know which order
to put them in, you can speak the language. In the whole
Portuguese language. There is only a handful
of different structures. And in this lesson, we're going to learn
the first one. The first structure is one
that you've already met. Although at the
time I didn't tell you it wasn't important
Portuguese structure. It consists of just three parts. And here is an
example of it in use. Care compare or
mosaic catacomb air. It means, what do
you want to eat? Now let's break this
structure down into its three components and give
each component and name. So we have ocher or in
Brazilian Portuguese, okay. Which is a question word, and it means what? Care or vasa care is
an infinitive carrier. And this means, do you want and then there is an infinitive, and this means to eat. So those are the
three components. A question word, an infinitive carrier, and an infinitive. You might be wondering
what on earth and infinitive and an
infinitive carrier are. Well, an infinitive
is just a verb. A verb is a word that you can
put two in front of, e.g. to eat, to drink, to speak, to smoke, to go, to be two here, to arrive, to learn. So those are all examples
of verbs or infinitives. An infinitive carrier is any word you can put an
infinitive on the end of. In English, we have things
like, I would like, do you want or I'm going, because you can put infinitives or verbs on the end of these. E.g. I. Would like to eat, I would like to drink. I would like to go. Do you want to leave? Do you want to call? Do you want to eat? I'm going to arrive. I'm going to go,
I'm going to dance.
73. 32b - changing the question word: So we've seen that care Compare Means what
do you want to eat? We can change any of the three parts in
this structure, e.g. instead of saying occur at
the start, which means what? We could change it to own the meaning where
on the commander, on the gear compare. Where do you want to eat? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, orangey mosaic catacomb air. Instead of saying under or on G, we could change it to quandl, which means when
cuando sarcomere. The sarcomere. When do you want to eat? Did you notice how the rest of the structure
stayed the same? The Voss daycare come airport didn't alter just because we changed
the question word. So that's three
different question. Where's that we can use at
the start of this structure? On the orangey means where
OCHA or okay, means what? Quantile? Quantile means when. Let's add a few more infinitives
and infinitive carriers. So we can really
start to manipulate this structure using
structure one. Let me give you five
useful question words. We've already had owned or
orangey, meaning where? Ocha, okay. Means what? Well, this next
one, ACO or rash. Rash, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, auras. Auras means at what time. Quantile. Quantile means when. And calm. Calm means how. Those five question words are actually words that
we've learned before throughout the three-minute
Portuguese series on the aqui, cuando and calm. Now let me give you three
infinitive carriers. Postal or AU parcel means can I care or vasa care means
do you want and vi vj, vi means are you going? So that's the first part
is the question words. The second part is the
infinitive carriers. And then the third part
or the infinitives, e.g. compare means to eat, to drink, or to
order. Means to try. Paga, to pay. Fuzzier means to do or to
make alga to hire ear to go. Tomar means to take there, to have out there to change. Now the reason why
I've put the two in brackets on all of
these infinitives, is because sometimes
in English we say two, but sometimes we miss it off. E.g. we could say, what do you want to do? But then what can I do? This is more of an
English problem than a Portuguese problem. So ComEd can mean
to eat or just eat. What can I eat? What
do you want to eat? So what we can do is take this basic structure
and make questions. We take a question word and infinitive carrier
and an infinitive. So you can say, where can I
eat on the post to compare? What can I eat?
Coupons to compare? What time do you want to eat? Aco or ash care compare. When do you want to go? Quandl, care ear. How are you going to pay? Gamow vi Bogata? So we take a question word and infinitive carrier
and an infinitive. And we have the first
structure in Portuguese.
74. 32c - practice questions: How would you say in Portuguese, where can I pay? On the Postal bugger? On the possible by God? Or in Brazilian Portuguese
on GAO possible by God. What can I eat? Coupons to compare all possible commander. Or a pause to compare. Where do you want to eat? On the sarcomere. The sarcomere, or in Brazilian Portuguese, will say catacomb, air on
Depot, say catacomb here. What do you want to drink? Who could get better? Get better, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, okay, What they care about, their will cave
or say caregiver. What are you going to order? Ok, of iPad here. Viper year or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Okay. Vasa bipeds year. Who gave us a webpage here.
What are you going to do? Foucault vi, vi, fuzzier. And fuzzier. And fuzzier. How do you want to pay gama Care, bugger, care, PAGA or common was they
get bigger and bigger. How are you going to pay? Co-move iPad. Co-move iPad. Or common was a Viper
Guard. Common Vasa. Again, as I read, forget that in
European Portuguese, they tend to miss off
the word will say. Whereas in Brazilian Portuguese, you'll hear it used more often. So co-move iPad
or wasabi bugger. How would you say what can I try to provide? Postal provider or
a tuple supernova. Okay. Uh, you parcel provider.
75. 32d - extra information: Now so far, I've said that the first structure is
made up of three parts. However, there is a fourth part that's called extra information. The fourth part of
structure one is simply extra information
such as nouns, adjectives, time,
words, et cetera. We can add the extra
information onto the end of the question to add,
well, extra information. E.g. sarcomere means,
what do you want to eat? But we could say, OK,
good camera, Ashton. Ashton weight. Which means what do you
want to eat tonight? On the care committee? Ammonia
on the sarcomere. Ammonia. Where do you want
to eat tomorrow? Could get fuzzier a Gora. Who could care, fuzzer, Agoda. What do you want to do now? So we've had a few
question words, a few infinitive carriers, and quite a few infinitives. Now let's have a look at some extra information
whereas that you can use to add to the ends
of your questions. Ammonia. Ammonia
means tomorrow. Osha. Osha, or in Brazilian
Portuguese. Ology means today. H, h tan, which means tonight. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it es Dann witchy. Are Gora. Gora is now
much, much harder. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, my strategy means later. Alice boar, boar to Lisbon. In this bar. And this bar in Lisbon are
hashed out and are hashed out. And in Brazilian Portuguese, our histology at the restaurant
or to the restaurant. Who Frank. Who Frankel, the chicken, Kazakh Huberman, new Okazaki, Vermeer
knew the red coat. Immediate or HE a ticket. But apparel for Paolo. And a key, a key here. So now that you're armed with some extra information with, you can make your question is
a little more adventurous. How would you say in Portuguese, what are you going to do now? Ok, of life as arugula, walk of life as arugula or
in Brazilian Portuguese, will say vi fuzzy at Agoda
will give, will say vi.
76. 32e - manipulating structure 1: How would you say in Portuguese, what are you going
to do for Polo? Who provide fuzzier
walk of life as L. What time do you
want to eat later? I caught what I
should get started. Or in Brazilian Portuguese at AOTA mosaic care
compromise strategy. I will say my strategy. Manipulating structure one. You can manipulate structure
one in many different ways. E.g. you can take certain bits out to make different
types of questions. You don't always have to stick
all three parts together. Let's see what happens
when you don't put a question
word at the start. How would you say,
Do you want to eat? Catacomb air or voice?
They can come here. Do you want to eat here? Can come into Key
Vault, say catacombs. Are you going to pay via God will say Viper Guard. Do you want to pay the bill now? Get back into contact with water or by God
or contact Laura. Now let's see what
happens if you don't put an
infinitive on the end? How would you say in
Portuguese, what do you want? Aka care. Who could get? In Brazilian Portuguese will say care. Who gave us they care.
77. 32f - what is an infinitive?: What is an infinitive? I said earlier on
in this course that the word infinitive
just means verb. However, it's specifically
the whole verb, which in English usually has the word to in front
of it, but not always. E.g. compare means
eat or to eat. Means to drink or just drink
per year, or per order. Or to order means two. Tri, or tri means to pay or pay. These are all examples
of infinitives. Fuzzier to do or to make. Aligarh, to hire tomar, to take dad, to have. And out there are to change. If you look at all of these
verbs in one big list, you'll notice that
they all end in the letter R. More specifically, they end in the
letters ER, IR, or AR. And that's how you can
recognize an infinitive. In Portuguese, it will be a word that ends in
either the letters E-R, like commander, IIR, like
petiole, or AR, Like. What is an infinitive carrier? An infinitive carrier
is basically a word or an expression that can be
followed by an infinitive. I've only given you a few Portuguese infinitive
carriers so far. We've had Basel or AU pursue, which means can I buy? Or we'll say vi,
means are you going? And we'll say care
means, do you want? You can put any infinitive on the end of these
infinitive carriers to make your question
for structure one. E.g. in English, are
you going to eat? Are you going to drink? Are you going to pay? Are you going to go? Are you going to try? There are a few more
infinitive carriers that you'll meet
in later lessons. And they will make life
much easier because they allow you to ask many
more types of questions. Finally, what is
a question word? Question words don't really
need much of an explanation. It's easier just to
see what they are. So far we've looked at
five question words. But since there's
only a small number of questionnaires altogether, what we'll do is
learn them all now. Here are all the question
words in Portuguese. Or orangey means where? Okay. Okay. Means what? I got what Asch or Aggie or S. At what time? Quandl means when? Column is how? Quo means which, which one? Burger or poor k means why? Q12 means how much? And quantile means how many? Quanto tempo, how long are literally it means how
much time. And time. Again means who or whom. So what you can do is write down those question words
on a cue card. Put the Portuguese words on one side and the English
words on the other. Then when you're practicing, you can use the English words to try and remember what
the Portuguese words were. And then if you need a hint, you can always turn the
card over and check.
78. 32g - qual & quanto: How would you say in Portuguese, what do you want to
do? Could get fuzzier. And fuzzier. How do you
want to pay the bill? Como care Bogata conta common was they kept Bogata counter. Which one do you want? Well, we'll say care. Why
do you want to hire a car? Could get, I will get on Kahoot, bulk of Osaka algorithm cow. Who, how much are
you going to eat? Quantile. Quantile
Vasa, If I compare, where can I hire a car? On the possible algorithm cow, on the possible algorithm cow who were in Brazilian
Portuguese on G, a U possible algorithm Calhoun on GAO possible
algorithm cow. Who when do you want to eat? Quantile care compare. Quantile. Was they care compare. What time can I go? I could watch boss
who ear to ear. Quell. The question word quell can change in Portuguese depending on
what it's referring to. Quell by itself means
which or which one. In the plural. It becomes quash. Quash, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, twice. So you use when you're
referring to a singular nouns, when there's only
one of something. And you use quash or quiz when you're referring
to plural nouns. When there's more than
one of something. Quantile. Quantile means how much? It has four different
versions in Portuguese. So Q12 means how much when it's in front of a
masculine singular noun. Quantiles. Quantiles, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, quantiles means how many, and that's used in front
of masculine plural nouns. Quanta. Quanta means how much when it's in front of a
feminine singular noun. And quanta. Quanta means how many, when it's in front of a
feminine plural noun. Have a look at these examples. How would you ask, how
much do you want quantile? Quantile was they care? How many do you want? Quantile? Quantile
will say care. How much wine do you want? Quanto venue care. Quantile we knew was I care. How much food do you want? Quanta Camila care. Quanta comida will say care. How many cakes do you want? Kwame push bolus care. Quantiles. Bolus will say care. How many carrots Do you want? Quanta. Quanta will say care.
79. 32h - practice questions: How would you say in Portuguese, what do you want to eat? Or could get? Ocha will
say catecholamines. What do you want to drink? Could get better. Care better? What do you want to order? Who could get better ear
hookah care per year? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, will cave or say care page here. Okay, Vasa care page here. What do you want to try? Who could get Luca? Was they care provider?
What do you want to do? Careful there. We'll
say Carafa there. What do you want to make? Could get if as air
will say careful here. So as Eric can mean
to do automatic. What do you want to take? All could kennel tomato? Walker will say character Omar. What do you want to have? Who could get their
walker mosaic get there? What do you want to change? Who could get it out there
are UGA was a kid out there. Where do you want to eat? On the catacomb area. On the Vasicek catecholamine. Where do you want to drink? On the gateway there. Was sick care be there. When do you want to eat? Quanto care, compare

tomorrow, Calhoun. What time do you want to eat? I could I could come here. Which one do you want to try? Quiet care provider. Will take care provider. Which one do you want to have? There? Was a character. Which ones do you want to try? Care provider. Question. Was they
care provider? Which ones do you want to have? Care tear. Both Take care.
81. 32j - practice questions: How would you say in Portuguese, how much do you want to eat? Quantile. Quantile,
vasa care, compare. How much do you want to drink? Quantile. Quantile

hook of iPad Air. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, who gave us say bipeds year. What are you going to try? Luca will say vi provider.

85. 32n - practice questions: How would you say in Portuguese, where can I drink? On the, to bevel, on the parcel of air? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, orangey, AU possible bare, bare. How would you ask
when can I eat? Cuando possible k-mer, cuando, you post to compare. When can I order cuando possible? Cuando AU possible by the year? What time can I eat? What Asch possible k-mer,

to commit quanta, visa and your post to compare. How much wine can I drink? Quanto venue possible
by their quanto venue, a super, super rare.
86. 32o - more words: More words. Let's have a recap of
all the question words. Then the infinitive carriers
that we've learned so far, and then the infinitives. And we'll add some new
infinitive carriers and some new infinitives. And then we can start
making up questions for structure one to our
heart's content. The question words were
owned, which means where? What? Aco or ash, at what time? Cuando when com. How? Quell means which are which one? Why? Quantile means how much? Quantity means how many? Quanto tempo, how long, or literally, how much time? Time. Who or whom. Then we've had the
infinitive carriers, Basu or AU parcel, which means can I borrowed
or voice say pod, means can you take care? Means do you want vi? Vi means are you going? Devil? Or AU dev means do
I have to or must die? And Dev. Dev means do
you have to almost you. What you can do is write those six infinitive carriers down on a cue card for the Portuguese words down the center of one
side of the cue card. Then turn it over and
write the English words. And then you can
practice by looking at the English words and trying to remember what the
Portuguese was. So Basu, pod, care by dev, dev or in Brazilian Portuguese. And you parcel will say biology. We'll say, we'll say vi, devil will say Davey. And then we had the
infinitives, meaning to eat, beverage, to drink, or
page year, to order. Bravar, to try. By God, to pay fuzzier to
do or to make Aligarh, to hire ear, to go. Tomar, to take dare, to have out there are to change. Let's add a few new infinitives. Is to buy. Commissar. Commissar to start. And HDR both mean to be party, or parties means to
leave and say year. Say here is to go
out, to bring gosh. Gosh, that is to spend
as into spend money. Facade. Facade is
to spend as in to spend time or to pass time vail. Their means to see legal, legal to call thicker. Thicker is to stay. In contrast. In contrast, means to find, it's sort of like
the English word to encounter and desire. Desire to say or to tell.
87. 32p - turning it all negative: How would you say in Portuguese, when do you want to leave? Quanto kelp our t, quantile
vasa care per tier. Whom are you going to see? Vivir are in
Brazilian Portuguese. King was saved by there. What can I bring a new portal? Where are you going
to stay tonight? On the Wi-Fi garnished, annoyed. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese on devo save efficacy standard
HE whom can I call? Kind of full ER, or in Brazilian Portuguese, gain a, you possibly guard. Turning it all negative. There's one more
useful thing that you can do to this
structure quite easily. And that's make it negative. All we have to do is change the infinitive carriers
from positive to negative. In English, it's simply
a matter of putting a little N apostrophe
T after the verb, e.g. if we look at these three
positive questions, why are you going to
Lisbon? Can I go with you? When can you do it? Well,
you have to do is put N apostrophe T after the
first verb and we get, why aren't you going to Lisbon? Can't with you? When can you do it? It's just a simple
in Portuguese. Or you have to do to turn
the infinitive carriers negative is put the word
noun in front of it. If there's a bossy
or an AU in there, the noun comes after that, but in front of the verb, e.g. or vasa care means, do you want? If we put the word noun
in front of the verb, we get now care, or will say Now care. Meaning don't you want, everything else stays the same. All you do is put the word now, which means not in front
of the infinitive carrier. And you've made the
whole question negative.
88. 32q - negative questions: Here are six
infinitive carriers. In Portuguese, we have
apostle, or are you pursue? Meaning can I bowed? Or vapour G, which means
can you take care? Do you want vi, vj, vi, are you going devil? Or AU? Devon means do
I have to or Maasai? And Devin will say, David, do you have to almost do
whatever I need to do? To pause this lesson. See if you can turn those six infinitive
carriers negative, then press play to see
if you got them right. So Basel is can I now possible or even now pursue
Kentucky board? Can you now pod or
was saying apology. Can't you get means
do you want now care? Or we'll say Now care. Don't you want by
means, are you going? Now? Vi will say now
vi, Aren't you going? Devil means do I
have to or must die? Now? Devil, a devil,
don't I have to. And Devon means do you
have to almost, you know, dev or was saying now, Davy means don't you have to. So let's have a
quick practice with these negative
infinitive carriers. How would you say in Portuguese, why can't I go with you? Birkenau, possible ear
converts say book A1, opposed to ear converts say, what can't you bring? Who can now pull the air? Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Ok, and we'll say
now budgeted There. Aren't you going to buy
something for Maria? Now y component will say, now why compare algebra Maria, human contact call kind. Now possibly gather in
Brazilian Portuguese. Gain. Now possibly God. Why can't you do it later? Now both for the elbow
much data or in Brazilian, Portuguese, board game was seen as positive as
ever. My strategy.
89. 32r - practice questions: How would you say in Portuguese, what are you going to bring? Ocha will save I.
What can I eat? Supposed to compare? Au
possible. What can you see? Luca pod aware, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, who cave or say pudgy, where? When can I go out? Quadrupole Susa year,
cuando AU parcels a year. Can I eat at the HotelTonight? Those who come into our hotel, adenoids or in Brazilian,
Portuguese and tuples. We'll compare our
hotel external. He can you call Maria at quarter past for bodily gamma? Yeah. Ashcroft through inquiry. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
will say polygon Maria as quad through inquire
to can I pay the bill? Possible Bogata cone. You
post to Bogata counter. Where can I find it? On the possible and can travel? In Brazilian Portuguese
on GAO post when control. What time do you want to start getting semester? What I should say? Which
ones do you want to try? Quite care provider
will say care provider. What are you going
to do tomorrow? Survive as air ammonia. Ammonia.
90. 32s - recap of structure 1: How would you say in Portuguese? Can I go out later? Puzzles, I hear my star or in Brazilian
Portuguese AU possible. So here my strategy. You want to see
it get available. Once they get avail, you want to try it. Good for vowel will say. Which one do you want to hire? Get Olga. Olga. Whom do you want
to see in Lisbon? Where unleash bar or in
Brazilian Portuguese gain votes. They care where
English Beauvoir. Whom do you have
to see in Lisbon? Kind everywhere on each bar. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Can say Davey,
their English boy, whom are you going
to see in Lisbon? Time vivir, unleash, bore, or gain will say
vivir, English boy. So that's the first
structure in Portuguese. You have three columns. In the first column you
have the question words. The second column you
have infinitive carriers, and the third column
you have infinitives. And all you have to do
to make the question is choose one word
from each column. E.g. on the postal code,
Mayor, Cooper Foucault, mayor, what I scared
come air carrier. Try and makeup as many
questions as you can using this structure so that you
become very familiar with it. This will allow
you to speak more fluently and confidently without having to spend too
much time thinking about how to say what
you want to say.
91. 32t - recap of structure 1: Let's do a recap now of all the question words,
infinitive carriers, infinitives, and
extra information words that we've been
learning in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese, where? Ananda or orangey. What? Luca. Okay. What time? Or ash or AQI orders. When Guandu, how? Khan? Which or which one. Wow. Why? Or how much? Quantity? How many? Quant bush? How long? Quanto tempo? Who or whom, gain or gain? Can I? Boston Ale possible. Can you? Or we'll say biology. Do you want or what they care? Are you going vi? Or say, why? Do I have to? Or must I devil or a devil? Do you have to, or must you Dev or say defi to eat, to drink, bear, bear, to order. Or peggy year. To try to pay. By God to do or to make fuzzier. To hire Aligarh, to go ear, to take Tamar.
92. 32u - recap of structure 1: How would you say in Portuguese
to have to change out? There are two by comeback. To start, to be sad, or a star to leave or patch here, to go out. So a year to bring that as air. To spend, as in, to spend money, to spend
as in to spend time. Facade. To see, to call regard to stay, to find in contract, to say or to tell desired tomorrow, ammonia today. Tonight. Annoyed or a sandwich. Now, I go into later. My dad or my strategy
to Lisbon. Alice bar. In Lisbon. I English
bar or endless bar. At the restaurant or
to the restaurant, are hashed out and or our
hairstyle and the chicken. Frank. The red coat. Okazaki, better mail you a ticket in bill yet or
maybe the HE for Paolo. Yeah. Icky.
93. 33a - (eu) pedi: Here's your first
word for this lesson. Petty. Petty. It means I ordered or
I have ordered parody. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, AU, Peggy, AUP G. So it means I ordered
or I have ordered pair the AUP g. The reason why I've put the half in brackets is because in English they
have is optional. E.g. Daddy. Daddy, who Frank can mean, I ordered the chicken or I
have ordered the chicken. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, AU Peggy, who? Frank Wu. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I've ordered a bottle of wine. Pay the omega half a DV, new daddy, omega
half at the venue. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, IG omega half IGV, new. Ig omega half a G venue. I ordered a coffee,
but it isn't here. Patti, on cafe mash
Nash turkey day, The own cafe mash Nash Turkey. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU Peggy, own cafe mass. Now it's tacky. Aup G on cafe mass now is tacky. I ordered a red wine, but I would like a white wine. Pay the routine to
mash. And being blanco. Betty infinity into mosquito, mean new brand coup. In
Brazilian Portuguese. Au Peggy millinewton
to mosquito. And we know Branco,
a new page on LinkedIn to mascara.
And being a Bronco. I've ordered the chicken patty, Franco. Franco, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, a LPG angle. And you paid you Fran. I ordered for Pedro. Baby powder bedroom. Pay the bedroom or
AU BIG per bedroom. You Paddy Power bedroom.
94. 33b - para você: How would you say in Portuguese? I ordered a wine,
but it isn't here. Betty venue, mash Nash tacky, pay the only new
mash now stocky. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, AUP g minue. Mass now is tacky. You Peggy, only new
mass now is tacky. Now, you might be able to
guess what this next phrase means as it's made up of
words we've already seen. And I will say batter will say, it means for you. And most say. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I've ordered for you baby, Barabasi, belly, part of OCI, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Au Baiju Bhatt of
OC, AU BIG Barabasi. It's for you. A part of, we'll say a parable, say I ordered the wine for me. It isn't for you. Baby, moving you Bellamy. Now a part of or say, Bellamy. Now a parable say, or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU BIG venue parameter. Now a parable say, AU bed UV new parameter. Now a part of us say that is for you is through a privacy issue, a Barabasi that is
absolutely perfect for you is to a absolute
demands provide to Barabasi is through
a absolute amount per flight to Barabasi, or in Brazilian Portuguese, is to a absolute dementia
per fade to Barabasi. A absolute dementia per
Fe, two parables say.
95. 33c - não: Here's your next
word in Portuguese. Now. Now. Now we've seen that
now can mean no, but it can also mean not. So how would you say in
Portuguese? Not for me. Thank you. Now, but now part of me or how would you
say no? Not for me. Now. Now, pardon me. Now. Now, but I mean, how would you
say I ordered the chicken, not the pizza baby or Frank? Now a pizza baby or for
angle, now a Piazza. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a baggie or Frank. Now a pizza. You bet you Frank. Now a pizza. Not for you. Now part of OCI now, but I will say
that is for Maria, not for Pedro II. Sue a para Maria now, but a bedroom is through a button maria now,
but our bedroom. Here's your next phrase
for this lesson. Kami. Kami or a alchemy. This can mean I have
eaten or eight gamete. This is another example
of where in English there is more than one way
to talk about the past. So you could say, I ate the chicken, or I have eaten a chicken. In Portuguese, both of
these would be the same. Gamete or Franco. Franco. Or in
Brazilian Portuguese, you might hear the AU, used AU Comey, who? Franco. Franco. So how would you say, I ate at the restaurant? Now in Portuguese, rather than
saying at the restaurant, you'll hear more often
in the restaurant. And to say in, is I1 or aim is you have i1 and together they contract
and they become new. So new means in the, so, if you want to say, I ate at the restaurant
in Portuguese, you will say I ate
in the restaurant. So how would you say that? Kami new hashtag, brand? New hashtag around or in
Brazilian Portuguese, a alchemy. Alchemy, new Head Start and CI.
96. 33d - foi: How would you say in Portuguese? I ate here with Maria Camila key. Maria Camila key, maria. I've eaten absolutely
everything. Kami, absolute demands to do. Absolute demand to do. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, AU Comey, absolute dementia to do, AU Comey, absolute
dimension to do. Now here's your next
word in Portuguese, and it's another
past tense verb. For free. It means it was fully. So how would you say
it was fantastic? For a fantastic tool? For a fantastic tool. How would you say
Lisbon was fantastic? And the word for
Lisbon is leash bar. And it's a feminine name. So be careful with the
adjective in this one. Leash boa for a fantastical
leash, bow up for you. Fantastic. So you have to say fantastical rather
than fantastic, because leash bar is feminine. How would you say, I think it was good football. But Emmy, for a bomb. That was perfect. Flipper phi two is Sue, we provide to how much
was the breakfast? Quanto fully opaque
animal muscle, quantile for your
pack animal muscle. So in this lesson so far, we've had Betty or AUP G, which means I ordered or I
have ordered. Pattern of OC. Means for you. Now, means not. Call me or AU Kami means
I have eaten or eight. And then four means it was.
97. 33e - esteve: How would you say in Portuguese, how much was it for two weeks? Quantile for us to manage, one to four per page to manage. Here's your next
word in Portuguese. Dev. Dev, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Stv. Stv. It means it
was a devil or STV. So now we've seen
two words for it was we had Foy and now we have. The difference between
the two is the same as the difference
between a and x star, which both mean it is. Foie means it was
when you're giving a permanent description
or a steady means. It was when you're giving
a temporary description. When you're talking about
a temporary description of things in the past, you can use Java or STV. But when it's a permanent
description, it's fully. If you mix these up
though, don't panic. It's quite a tricky
concept to understand. And even very good speakers of portuguese get it
wrong occasionally. Now, when you're talking about how good or bad food
items were in the past, you use Estella rather than for. This is because it's technically
a temporary description. Just because the chicken
was good yesterday, e.g. doesn't mean it has
always been good. So how would you
say in Portuguese, the chicken was delicious. Who? Franco. Franco delicious? Or in Brazilian Portuguese? Franco STV. Frank was David ratios. So just to recap, Foy
and Esteva or STV, both mean it was or was. 40 is used with permanent
descriptions and Esteva or STV is used with
temporary descriptions. So how would you say Pedro
was at the restaurant? Bedroom Esteva new hashtag. Bedroom, new restaurant, or
in Brazilian Portuguese, bedroom, STV, new historian, she bedroom STV, new
histogram cheap. So don't forget that you
have to say Pedro was in the restaurant rather than
Pedra was at the restaurant.
98. 33f - foi vs esteve: How would you say in Portuguese, everything was extraordinary to do for extraordinaire, you to do extraordinary. I think the food was terrible. I mean, I commit dash
devotee and evil. But to me, I commit
as debit and reveal. Maria was here with Sophia. Maria Esteva key concept
Via Maria Esteva key here. So this is another temporary
description because just because Maria was here whenever we
are talking about, it doesn't mean that
she's always here. So we can use Java or STV. How would you say it was here? Stevia key, Esteva key. The food was
absolutely delicious. Thank you. I comida Esteva,
absolute amount. That was Albert DeSalvo. We have to say rather
than delete the OSU, because omega is
a feminine noun, a comida, Esteva,
absolutely. Delicious. I'll be gavel. Or in Brazilian,
Portuguese, or comida, a steady absolute dementia, that is, CO is
already gathering. Comida a steady
absolute dementia. The CEO is orbiting album. How would you say the
restaurant was very busy? Whatever moist or coupon or histone and Esteva
more to occupy. Or in Brazilian,
Portuguese or histology. Histology STV, to occupy taboo. Again, we use the temporary
word for was stdev or STV because being busy isn't
a permanent description. It might not be
busy tomorrow, e.g.
99. 33g - não foi / não esteve: You can make Foy and stdev negative by putting the
word noun in front of them. So you get now Foy
and now STDEV. And they both mean it wasn't. Now Foy, now a stem, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, now STV. So how would you
say in Portuguese, It wasn't very good. Now for the moon to bone. Now for it to one. Don't forget that when
you're talking about how food and drink was in the past, you should use Java or STV. So how would you say I ordered the chicken but it
wasn't very good. Baby who frankly mash Nash
stable month to bone. They do Frankel
match, mine to one. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Au Peggy who Frank
mass now it's Davey, me to bone AU Peggy who frankly mass now it's
Davey mood to bone. It wasn't here.
Now, Estella key. Now Esteva key, or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Now Stevia key. Now Stevia key. It was good but
it wasn't perfect for the Bon Marche NAFLD
provide to 40 Bon Marche. Now if we provide two, it was beautiful at
the beach today. For Lean do apply osha? For lean to apply osha. It wasn't there today. Now instead of Alyosha. Now, Esteva yeoja. It wasn't for two weeks, it was for one week. Now for people do actually manage for April master manner. Now for us to manage
for a mass Amana.
100. 33h - não foi / não esteve: How would you say in Portuguese, the chicken wasn't very good. Now, unstable mood
to bone to bone. Or in Brazilian Portuguese who frankly now a steady
mood to bone. Who? Frank, now STV multiple. Paolo wasn't there. Now, which devil? Power
will now instead of Ali, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Now it's Davey Ali
Powell. Now Stevia. The food wasn't bad. A comida, knowledge,
Deb, ummah, a comida. Now instead of Umma, the wine wasn't for you when you now foot, but I will say we knew
now fully Barabasi. Tiago wasn't very nice. Now full moon to symbiotically. Tiago. Now for the
moon to symbiotically. Everything was
good at the hotel. To free bone our hotel, to do full bone our hotel. Or instead of saying our hotel, you can also say new hotel, which literally
means in the hotel. So everything was
good in the hotel to do for the bone knew of them. How would you say the
restaurant wasn't too busy? Now instead of occupied
all the mesh around. Now as Teva occupied or damage. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, who has the Orangi now a
steady occupied demise. Who has doubt Angie now a
steady occupied dodgy mice.
101. 33i - ontem: Here is your last
word for this lesson. On-time. On-time. It means yesterday, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, on-time. On-time in European Portuguese, and on-time in
Brazilian Portuguese. So how would you
say in Portuguese? I ate here yesterday. Come Yankee on time. The company I key on time. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU Kami, a key on time. Au Columbia key on time. Pedro wasn't there yesterday, but he was there today. Bedroom now each
day value on time. Mother's Day Valley. Bedroom. Now instead value on time. Mother's Day Valley. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
bedroom now Stevia Leon theme, massive Stevia, or bedroom
now Stevia Leontyne, Mother's Day VLE or Azure. I ordered the chicken yesterday, but today I'm going to order the fish bed. You Frank, onetime Masaccio, whoop idea, oh patient. They do Frank one time. Mythology. Or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Au page you Frank one thing, Masaccio, and
you've opened year. You bet you Frank, one time. Mass also a Yuval PGY2 patient. Maria was here yesterday. Maria Esteva Qian time. Maria Esteva key on time, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Maria Esteva key on team. Maria Esteva key on time. So in this lesson, we've
had Betty or AUP G, which means I ordered
or I have ordered. Interval say means for you. Called me or AU Kami means
I have eaten or eight. Foy. And stdev both
mean it was 40, is talking about permanent
characteristics. And stdev is talking about
temporary descriptions. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce S dev as S Davy. Now Foy, and now I mean, it wasn't then on-time. On-time means yesterday.
102. 33j - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese? I've ordered two
bottles of red wine, but I'm going to order a
bottle of white wine as well. They do watch the video team, too much rope is omega have Adobe new
brand could combine. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU Peggy do ask a half as G venue tin mesial of OpenGL omega alpha g
v new brand campaign. I've ordered an
orange juice for you. Bear the full modular
orange aperitivo, say baby on sumo, do that orange apparel, same or in Brazilian Portuguese. Au Peggy Sue, G laryngeal. But I will say AU Peggy
Sue GRange, a parable, say, I ate here yesterday and
the chicken was delicious, but the desert was terrible. Commedia key on time. You, Franco Esteva, delicious, muscle, Sabra, Meza,
H Delta reveal. In Brazilian Portuguese. Au, key on time. You Frank West heavy, daily. See awesome. Mother sobre mesa is David. Maria wasn't here yesterday,
but she's here today. Maria now each day vacuum time. Mothers tacky osha. Maria now each day vacuum time. My Azure Stack key osha, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Maria, now a Stevia Qian
theme, massive stack EOG. Maria now Stevia Qian
team, metastatic EOG. It was very beautiful in Lisbon, but everybody was very busy. For a month to Linde 1
" bore much total moon. Do HTML moved to a coupon? For a moment, Boolean
to unleash boa, much total Moodle HW
going to occupy them. I've eaten everything and it
was absolutely delicious. Commit to do.
Instead of absolute, Amanda deletes the
awesome commit to do whatever absolute domain
to the lithium atom. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you commit to do yesterday the absolute dimension,
that is the ozone. You commit to do? Yes, Davey, absolute dimension,
that is SEO awesome. I ordered some white wine
but it wasn't very good. Betty venue, Bronco, mash Nash, Devin went to Bon Marche. Now instead of a moon to bone, or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU BIG venue, Branko mass
now a staving me to bone. You BIG venue, Branko mass
now a steady mood to bone. I ordered the stake, but I'd like to change it now. Baidu beef, much greater
wealth around day. The beef mosquito out that allo Agora or in
Brazilian Portuguese. And you Peggy will be F0, must get welfare algebra Gora. You, Becky will be fi, mosquito Alphabet,
alphabet Gora. Maria was very tired
yesterday at the restaurant. Maria Moon to consult on
time, new hashtag brands. Marianne step, I'm going to cancel out on buying
new restaurant. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Maria is Debbie money to consult on thing, new
hairstyle, rhonchi. Maria, STV, mood to consult
on the endocast orangey. I'm well-to-do, but
yesterday was terrible. Bind also meson
time for Del Valle, a store buying or Azure
Muslim time for vivo. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, I stopped buying RG, Muslim thing for us to biology, Muslim thing for it.
103. 33k - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? But I mean, I comida
no restaurant on a step of Antarctica. But amine or comida
no hashed out Anton time Deb of Antarctica. I think the food at the restaurant yesterday
was fantastic. Now for a parable, same
is true for May when you, Now for it, but I will say
is to foil may will be new. It wasn't for you.
That was my wine. Gamete homeodomain. Yeah, Gora H2 cancel. Committed a mesh here
and water H2O can study. I've eaten too much
viewed and now I'm tired. As that of a free
on-time on-time. The reservation was yesterday. On your sandwich,
HD Valley, Madison, you are Ferrera Esteva
on English, bow on time. All sing your samples each day. Valley mothers and new RFR, IRA Esteva on English bow around time mr. Santos was there but Mrs.
Vera was in Lisbon yesterday. Martin now estaba en casa
Martin now estaba en casa Martin wasn't at home via video pica. Now unstable mood to
bond pine, Viper dealer. Now unstable mood
to bone by him. Are you going to order the fish? And it wasn't very
good yesterday? Is a part of or say yes to Boulder economy is
through a Barabasi? Yes, the ball, a part of me. That is for you. And this cake is for me. Food began with the mesh. Will go for it
began on the mesh. The car was too small. Baby will mean Bronco
parables say match peripheral route into Betty, Banker, but I will say
mass moving within two. I've ordered a
white wine for you, but I prefer red wine.
104. 33l - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in the
previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese? It's €90 for two nights
at the hotel and Pharaoh. No Venta euro new hotel, einfach to push that,
no venting noise. There's no deadline file. Do you have a map of H.dl? Mapper do a Story. Map pedestrian or in
Brazilian Portuguese. And while sitting on
my bed yesterday, you will say ten on my
iPad yesterday you can I have a pizza tomorrow? A Piazza post on Piazza. Where is the supermarket? On the FECA took Mercado, on the fecal soup Mercado. Take the third Road on the
left and then go straight on the other side of who I scared, ie the boyish see Gunflint, don't matter side of
who I scared the E, the second friend, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
dominator Theta, who I scared the E, the poets Sega in Frenchie, dominator Saida
who are scattered. The E deploys Sega in Frenchie. Take the exit towards the beach. Domus are either paraplegia
Tomasa either, but apply. Yeah. I'm going to Lisbon before 10:00. Voltage. Buddha understand
this wood ash borer, understanding what Asch it
was there towards the shop. Instead Valley panel,
osha, Esteva, Ali. But Elijah, I would like a
bigger car that is too small. Ghetto in gamma, your
essay became a bromide. Get to go home and your S
or a began with the mesh. So in this sentence we say S, S, C in Brazilian Portuguese for
that when it's by itself. So S or S, C can mean that or that one. How would you say, Do you have a basket? My sister. My sister, or in Brazilian
Portuguese will say. My sister was, I
think my sister.
105. 33m - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. One of these
Portuguese sentences mean in English, puzzle. Puzzle, tear. Almost a
college freshman more. Can I have a bag, please? Daddy, Kazakh Cooper menu. Even Kazakh was March
peripheral who as pd and Kazakh Huberman new young Kazakh was
much peripheral vessel. I've ordered a red
coat and a blue coat, but I prefer the blue. Goes to the restaurant
to unleash, bore me. Leontyne goes to the Unleash Power
Company allele on time. I liked the
restaurant in Lisbon. I ate there yesterday. Economies as to
Clara a boa mash, but I will say
peripheral academies. Academies as we
plot or a bar mash, but I will say playful
Archimedes as always, cooler. The light blue shirt is good, but for you, I prefer
the dark blue shirt. Quantity goes down, but
yet Quantico stop million. How much is the
ticket get reduced to either verifiable mediators,
to either peripheral. I would like to one-way
tickets for Pharaoh. Believed to the EDI Volta polish bow acoustic
three printer. Humiliated the ENI
Volta Polish bulla, cuz that printer, and you lose. A return ticket for Lisbon
is €30 volt per volume. I started, well,
pretty much started. I'm going to try it later. Ten new magazine cover. I normally rabbits as
theta or ash, mascara. Well, parabola as we talk trash, Daniel magazine cover,
I normally do robots. I said two or hash mosquito. Well, Perella, as we told us, I have a reservation in the
name of rabbits at 07:00, but I would like to change it to 08:00 vibe as L1 plus L2 or are you going to do it today?
106. 34a - a mesma coisa: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learnt in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese, I ordered or I have ordered or in Brazilian
Portuguese, BIG for you. But I will say I
have eaten or eight. Kami. What are the two
ways to say it was foggy? Or estates? What are
the two ways to say it wasn't? Now Foy. Now which Deb or now it's Davey. Yesterday. On time or on thing. Here's your first phrase
for this lesson. Amaze. Amaze McCoys, or it
means the same thing. Miasma, poison, the same thing. So boys, that means thing, and Mesmer means same. So how would you say, I
would like the same thing? Get to amaze McCoys or
ghetto amazing mycorrhiza. I've ordered the same thing. Pay the amaze mycorrhiza. Baby. Amaze mycorrhiza are
in Brazilian Portuguese. You Becky amaze
McCoys or you Becky amaze McCoys or can I
order the same thing? Possible? Amaze McCoys or
possible amaze McCoys. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU possible page here, amaze McCoys or AU
possible page here. I'm as McCoys or the same
thing for me, please. Ms. Mccoys, the pyramids freshwater or amaze McCoys
or pardon me, por favor. I ate the chicken yesterday and I've ordered the
same thing today. Kami will find onetime eBay, the amaze McCoys or
call me or Franco, onetime Betty and
asthma quasars, you were in Brazilian, Portuguese, alchemy
or Frank one team e, amazed McCoys, algae. Au Comey, who Franco onetime. E. Becky, I'm asthma equator OG.
107. 34b - a mesma coisa que: In Portuguese, if
you want to say the same thing as somebody, you have to use the word
cook for as a Mesmer quiz. Good means the
same thing as e.g. amaze McCoys or Kapow. Ms. McCoy, Zika Pao means
the same thing as Paolo. So now we've seen that can
mean more than one thing. It means what when you
use it with ocher. And it can also mean as you can put anything
on the end of the word to say the same
thing as anything, e.g. amaze McCoys or ill or
MAs McCoy Zika, Ellie. The same thing as him. There's McCoy Zika Ella
amaze McCoy, Zika ELA. The same thing as her. Amaze McCoys, uh,
Google say amaze McCoys at Google say the
same thing as you. If you want to say
the same thing as me, literally in
Portuguese, you have to say the same thing as i. And as we know, the
word for eye is AU, amaze McCoy Zika AU
Amir's McCoy Zika AU. The same thing as me or
literally the same thing as i. So how would you say I would
like the same thing as you go through a maze, McCoys, cavas say, you get a
mess, McCoys or Kumasi. I have ordered the same thing as Maria Bailey. I'm asthma quizzical Maria
or in Brazilian Portuguese, AUP G, M, asthma
quizzical Maria. Can I order the
same thing as him? Both will be amazed
McCoys that could yield, possible by dram as
McCoy Zika yield or in Brazilian Portuguese
AU possible page here, I'm asthma quizzical. Ellie. Au possible
pyramids, McCoys. Okay, Haley, I would like
the same thing as yesterday. Getaway, Mesmer quizzical
on time, ghetto, MS. Mccoys ago on time, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Educate on Mathematica on-time. Educate them as
McCoys or contain.
108. 34c - mais um / outro: How would you say in Portuguese, do you want the
same thing as me? And just remember
that you have to say the same thing as
AI in Portuguese. Get a mess McCoys. Okay. You will say get MS. Mccoys. Okay. You are you going to order
the same thing as me? Lipids. We're amazed. Mccoys, the KU viper
dram as McCoys. Okay. You are in Brazilian Portuguese. Will say vi page
here, amaze McCoys. The k you will say
viper GLM is McCoys. Again. I'm going to do the same
thing today as yesterday. Vulva Zara, men's McCoys
or all your time. Both as LMS McCoys or ocean current time or in
Brazilian Portuguese, AU evolve as LMS McCoys or RG, on-time AU vulva, they're
amazed McCoys or downtime. I'm not going to
order the same thing as Maria. I didn't like it. Novel pyramids, McCoys, uh, chlamydia now goes through these three novel by
dram asthma quizzical. Maria now goes to this one. Now I'm going to give you two words that have
the same meaning, or rather one phrase
and one word. The first is myosin. Myosin, and the second
is O2. Oh, true. They both mean another. Myosin and O2. So they can both be
used to mean another, but you use them in
slightly different ways. The phrase my Zoom literally
means 1 mol or more. One. Mesh means
more and means one. When you put in front of the S on the end
becomes a z sound. Myosin, myosin,
e.g. ghetto myosin. Myosin. I would like one more. The word O2, 0 through
literally mean another. Hello. Oh, true or true. I would like another.
109. 34d - mais um / outro: We've just learned
to new phrases, my zoom and O2, which I said can both be
used to mean another. Or literally my
Zoom means 1 mol. But there are a
couple of things to note when using these phrases. The phrase, my Zoom
can be used by itself as in the sentence we've just learned
ghetto myosin, which means I would like 1
mol or I would like another. But you can also
use it with nouns. Now when you use it with a noun, the has to change to OMA if you put it in front
of a feminine noun, e.g. k2 minus Omega Alpha
keto minus omega alpha. I would like another bottle, or literally, I would
like one more bottle. K2 minus k2 minus one bottle. I would like another cake. Or literally I would
like one more cake. You can also change the
to a different number. E.g. get through my gosh, do Ashoka, half ash, Cato much do ask a half Ash. I would like another two bottles or I would
like to more bottles. So you can use my zoom by
itself or in front of a noun. And if it's in front of a noun, the changes to OMA. If it's a feminine noun, or you can change it
to a different number. Oh, true. Can be used by itself
to mean another one. But you can also use
it in front of nouns. When you put 0 true in
front of a feminine noun, you change it slightly
to ultra, e.g. Kerouac or trigger
half at the venue. Care to autograph at the venue? I would like another
bottle of wine. K2, O2, cafe au cafe. I would like another coffee. You can even put my H and 0 through together and
you get myself through mosaic care muscle through mosaic care muscle through
D want another one. So when you put myself
through together, it means another one. So how would you
ask in Portuguese? Do you want to know the bottle? Get a minus omega alpha or
get older? I got alpha. So it's ultra or my Zuma because gaffer is feminine or in
Brazilian Portuguese. And we'll say k minus omega, how far they can all target. How far do you want to know the tea mines, osha. Osha, or in Brazilian,
Portuguese, will say care minds on what
they care about Russia. In this example, if
you say myfunction, it means another T, as in another of the same t.
But if you said oh Trisha, Oh, true can be used to mean another as in a different type. So get out Russia. Do you want a
different type of T? Minus one means one
more of the same, whereas O2 means
a different one. As in another type.
110. 34e - um copo / uma taça: Now for this next sentence, you'll need to know
what a glass is. A glass is in Copan, which is COP Copan. How would you say I'm going to have another glass of water? Vote Omar myosin
cope with dogma. Vote tomorrow to
cope with Jaguar. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, a of 0. Tomar meson copied Jaegwon, AU vote tomorrow
to go *** jaguar. In Copan means a glass. There are actually two words
for a glass in Portuguese, in Copan and metazoa. Capo. Metazoa. The word
Copan is any sort of glass. Whereas metazoa is a glass
specifically made for wine. So it's more like a
goblet or a wine glass. So you will ask for,
incorporate the Jaguar or incorporate jaguar in
Brazilian Portuguese, if you are asking for
a glass of water. But if you wanted to ask
for a glass of wine, you can either say
metastatic venue or incorporate the venue. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
Matata G venue. G V mu, a glass of wine. In Capo is any sort of grass and all metazoa is a wine
glass or a goblet. In this lesson so far, we've had a maze McCoys, which means the same thing. If you want to say
the same thing as you can put on the end. E.g. amaze McCoys, sick
or ill. Or amaze McCoys, uh, Kaley means the
same thing as him. Amaze McCoys or Kayla. The same thing as her. If you want to say
the same thing as me, you say literally the same
thing as I amaze McCoys, the k You amaze McCoys that Google say would be
the same thing as you, or you can even put
names on the end. Amaze McCoys, uh, compared to
the same thing as bedroom. Then we had my Zoom, which means 1 mol or another. And all through Means ANOVA. How would you say,
are you going to order another bottle of wine? Viper minus omega half
of the venue or VPD, the aux track I
have at the venue, or in Brazilian Portuguese. And we'll say bipeds year
minus omega half a dB new will say VPg aux track
I haven't given you. Do you want another coffee? Good Amazon Cafe,
get altro cafe. So all through cafe, just like before, can be used to mean a different
type of coffee. So if you want to
say, do you want another of the same coffee, you can say, we'll
say k minus one cafe. But if you wanted to ask, do you want a different type of coffee? Will say care or through cafe.
111. 34f - se é possivel: Here's your final
phrase for this lesson. It's a nice phrase
that you can put at the beginning or at the end
of sentences to be polite. Said Posterior. Posterior. It means if it's
possible, means if. And then a placebo
means it's possible. In Brazilian Portuguese
it's more like a placebo. A placebo, because this
is pronounced as c, meaning if, say placebo. A placebo. It means
if it's possible. So how would you say, I would
like that if it's possible? K2 is to say posterior or
A-OK. to see a placebo, it is possible, I would
like that in green. So apathy they'll get with Zu, invaded in Brazilian Portuguese. See a post-Civil. You can
read through a invaded G. How would you say, I would
like to more if it's possible, good, match their l. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a, you might see a placebo. So Deutsch and Deutsch
means literally more, two, more, two more. Or we could also translate it as another to get Oh my gosh, do wish I would like another two staples
email, if it's possible. How would you say another
orange juice if it's possible? Minds-on. So modeler and just say posterior myosins to model
around just the apple civil, or in Brazilian Portuguese, instead of saying,
we say Sudoku, myosin, so-called dealer
Anja, see placebo, myosin. So Qu Jie laryngeal
see a placebo. A placebo, or a placebo
means, if it's possible.
112. 34g - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: Here's your final
phrase for this lesson. It's a nice phrase
that you can put at the beginning or at the end
of sentences to be polite. Say placebo. Placebo. It means
if it's possible. Means if. And then a perceiver
means it's possible. In Brazilian Portuguese,
it's more like CA, posterior z a placebo, because this is pronounced as c, meaning if, say placebo. A placebo. It means
if it's possible. So how would you say, I would
like that if it's possible? K2 is to say placebo or
ALK to see a placebo. It is possible, I would
like that in green. Epithelial get with
Sue and vetted. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. See a post-Civil, you
can whistle a invaded G. How would you say I would like
to more if it's possible. Good match Jewish posterior. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a, you might see a placebo. Or mice boys means
literally more, two more, two more. Or we could also translate it as another to get Oh my gosh, do wish I would like another two staples
email, if it's possible. How would you say another
orange juice if it's possible? Minds-on. So modeler and just
say posterior myosin. So modular oranges,
apples civil, or in Brazilian Portuguese, instead of saying,
we say x2 minus x1. So cool, dealer Anja, see placebo, myosin,
so-called Gilat. Anja see a placebo. So say a placebo, or a placebo means,
if it's possible.
113. 34h - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Viper theorem as
McCoys like a viper. Amaze McCoys like AU. Are you going to order
the same thing as me? My resume or a placebo
possible tail, Oma melanoma, your sample CVL. Can I have a bigger
table if it's possible? Sample civil, ghetto
alpha amino has ever see a placebo?
Good, well-thought out. If it's possible, I would like
to change my reservation. All took Bronco aux a
dozen new brand goo. Goo. Do you have another bottle of white wine? Vote provided ultra HD casualty them will provide ultra HD
camera with their Reveal. I'm going to try another
cheese, this Jesus terrible. Get them as McCoys.
It could Pedro get amaze McCoys like a bedroom? Do you want the same
thing as Pedro? Novel PDM as mycorrhiza. Now vote they did
amazing mycorrhiza. I'm not going to
order the same thing. They DMAs McCoys,
the con time mash, Nash stable mode to Boeotia, BDMS, McCoys, Hogan time, mash. Now unstable mood to Boeotia. I ordered the same
thing as yesterday, but it wasn't very good today. Amaze McCoys or
Pyramus fashionable. Amaze McCoys or pardon
me, specify border. The same thing for me please. Now IMS McCoy is-a. Now I am as MacOS and that isn't the same thing.
114. 34i - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: What we'll do now, awesome
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How do you say in Portuguese? I think this hotel is good, but I prefer the rooms there. But I mean H TO tell a
Bon Marche peripheral IV. But me, H2O, tailbone, much prefer touch ID. I would like another room. This room is too small for me. All through cartoon
require too much, but I mean, a eukaryote required to acquire to a became
the match spammy. It wasn't very good,
but I ate everything. Now I should ever moved to bone, mass commit to do. Now, wish to have a mood
to Bon Marche commit to. Everything was bad yesterday, but it's going well today. Due to fully mount on
time, mash, vibing, ocher to mount on time, matched by buying always you. Can, I try these shoes both supernova edge
to stop at, wish. You post to provide an
edge to stop at those. I'm going to order a bottle
of water for the table. Will be the Omega. Have a DAG. What parameter? You will be omega have a DAG.
What parameters? Do you want? A coffee. Get on cafe. Once they get on cafe, you have any orange juice. Binds to modernization time. So mood oranges, or in
Brazilian, Portuguese. And pulsating so-called dealer Anja will say
so-called deranged. I would like an ice cream, but I've eaten too much. Gelato. Marsh commit the mesh. Gelato mash commit the mesh. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, a eukaryote. He mass committee mice. A UK, HE must commit demise. Everything in Portugal is delicious to do. I'm Portugal, Italy
see awesome to do. I'm Portugal, Italy see Awesome.
115. 34j - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What did these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Vote Omar, who train Alice bar? Vote tomorrow trying algebra. I'm going to take
the train to Lisbon. Co-move via Medina. Co-move. Why a Madeira? How are you going to Madeira? I got what I should
write tomorrow. By tomorrow, John
perished annoyed. What time are you going
to have dinner tonight? By gotta go into Como,
get Bogata quanta. How do you want to pay the bill? On the ALS star? Now I stop Liga on the LH
star. Now I wish to apply. Yeah. Where is she? She
hasn't got the beach. Now I will say is
two. Now a parable. Say that isn't for you. Most they carry soon. What they care is who do you want that? Dying is two. I'm Brian Kuhn, tiny, so I'm Brian. Do you have that in white? Kid who do as a college
slash five or special order. I would like to bags, please. Why fuzzier. And
fuzzier. Oh, my gosh. Are you going to
make a reservation?
116. 35a - dói-me: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese? If it's possible to say
perceiving the same thing. Amaze McCoys. The
same thing as him. Ms. Mccoys or kill or
amaze McCoys or gaily. The same thing as her. Amaze McCoys or Kayla. The same thing as
me. Here's my quiz. Okay, you the same thing
as you. Amaze McCoy. Zika will say. The
same thing as Pedro. Amaze McCoys bedroom. 1 mol or another myosin. Another 0 through. Now. Hopefully you won't
need this next phrase. But just in case means
I've heard my dilemma. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you tend to say Midway, midway. So the bank mean, I've
heard my dilemma in European Portuguese and midway
in Brazilian Portuguese. So remember when we learned
how to say, I'm cold, we had sham rumor in European Portuguese and a human sham in
Brazilian Portuguese. Little word or me, tends to hook on the end of
verbs in European Portuguese. But the Brazilians consider
that a little too formal, so they place it in front
of the verb instead. Don't worry if you use the wrong one in the wrong country though, you'll be perfectly understood. Dilemma or midway,
mean I've hurt my, but the literal
translation of dimer or midway isn't
actually I've heard my if you were to translate dimer or midway word for word, they would mean it hurts me. So DOI means it hurts
and means me, do. It hurts me. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, medoid. You can put any body part on the end of these phrases
to say where it hurts. However, one thing to remember, which is different to English
is that in Portuguese, you don't say, I've
hurt my head, e.g. but rather I've heard the head. This is the same
for any body part. Doing a Cabeza de Vaca Besser. I've hurt my head
or my head hurts. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
medoids or Cabeza. Midway, I Cabeza, literally, I've heard the head
or the head hurts me. Medoids or Cabeza de Lima, who pay, means I've heard
my foot or my foot hurts. The foot is hurting me. Duma who pay or in
Brazilian Portuguese, medoid who pay. Medoid who pay. However, when you're talking
about a plural body part, the word doggy becomes doin. Doi means hertz, and
doing means hurt. Do Emma or medoid is, it hurts me doing or me doin. They hurt me. Now, in speaking is very hard
to tell the difference. Doi is just pronounced
like DOI, DOI. Whereas doing, doing has
that nasal sound on the end. So when you say doing, you close your throat at
the end slightly doing mid doin doin or
medoid, it hurts me. Doing or mid doin. They hurt me. And he can put any
plural body part on the end of doing
NMR or midbrain. E.g. during the Bush dentist, doing centers means I've heard my teeth or
my teeth hurt me. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, me doin, who's dangerous? Me doin withstand. So just to recap, dimer means my, something hurts and you can put any body part
on the end of it. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you say medulla. And it means the same thing. My something hurts midway. In the plural, you get doin, doing, which means
my something's hurt. So you use that with
a plural body part, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
Medellin. Medellin.
117. 35b - body parts: We've just seen how to say that something hurts in Portuguese. Do him do him is the European
Portuguese version of saying My, something hurts. Medulla. The medulla is the
Brazilian way. You can put any singular
body part after those two phrases in the plural. If you want to use a plural
body part, you say doin, doing in European
Portuguese, and midbrain. Midbrain in Brazilian
Portuguese. How would you say,
I've hurt my head? Doing a Cabeza de Lima Cabeza or in Brazilian, Portuguese. And medoid a Cabeza. Medulla Cabeza. How would you say? I've heard my knows. The word for nose in
Portuguese is not English. Spelled N, A, R, niche, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it Nazis. Nourish, do Emma, or Midway. Midway. Body parts. I've made a vocabulary
expansion sheet that goes with this lesson and it has a list of lots of different body parts
in Portuguese. You can put any of these on
the end of the phrase is doing or medoid in the singular. And remember that if you
have a plural body part, you have to use doin
or mid doing instead. Now, here's another word that
you hopefully won't need. Actually, there are two words. The first is used more in Portugal and the second
is used more in Brazil. That di, di means I've
broken that D. And Cadbury. Cadbury or AU cabaret means I've broken in
Brazilian Portuguese. So that d is
European, Portuguese. And cabaret. Cabaret is I've broken in
Brazilian Portuguese. Just like with doin or medoid, you can use a party or Cabaret with any body part to say that's what
you've broken. The rule about just using the Rather than my still exists. So you would say I've broken the leg in Portuguese instead
of I've broken my leg. E.g. bacteria
banner that Aparna, I've broken my leg or in Brazilian Portuguese,
but they are better. A UK break a pattern. I've broken my leg. So literally it means
I've broken the leg. Now, you've probably noticed that we've started to introduce a few more differences between European Portuguese and
Brazilian Portuguese. In these last few lessons, I just wanted to say that you shouldn't worry
too much about it. If you use party in Brazil and Cadbury in
Portugal by mistake, you will still be
perfectly understood. It's just like if an
American asks for some candy in England, it's
perfectly comprehensible. So don't panic too much.
118. 35c - parti: The word for finger in
Portuguese is dead. They do. D, E, D. So how would you say, I've broken my finger? Tea Party or cabaret? Who then? You can play with it. I've broken my nose. Tea Party who nourish, or in Brazilian
Portuguese can re, re. In this lesson so far
we've had DO him, which means I've heard my
something or something hurts. In Brazilian Portuguese,
instead you will say medoid means I've heard my or my something's
hurt in the plural. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you would say mid doing. Part D means I've broken. In European Portuguese,
and Brazilian Portuguese, you say cabernet or a
vocabulary for heartbroken. Now here's your next word in
Portuguese for this lesson. Medical. Medical men. It means some medicine
or any medicine, literally though, it means
medicine, maybe come into. But in English we
don't say a medicine. We say some medicine
or any medicine. So how would you say Can
I have some medicine? Possible tomar Maddie come
into a you parcel tomorrow. Maddie come into
literally you say, Can I take a medicine? How would you say Do
you want some medicine? Medical care. Medical meant to. Do
you have any medicine? Time may come into
a medical man. I would like some medicine. Medical men to get Medica mean literally means
I would like a medicine.
119. 35d - medicine: Medicine. I've made another vocabulary expansion sheet for this lesson. This second sheet contains
lots of vocabulary for medicine just in case you
might need something specific. Now here's your next phrase in Portuguese for this lesson. And unfortunately once again, there's a European word and a different Brazilian
Portuguese word. Pankaj upon UI means I've
caught in European Portuguese. In Brazilian Portuguese
you say big a, big a or AU Peggy? They both mean I caught. I've caught and they can meet it in any sense of the phrase e.g. I. Caught the ball
or I caught a cold. And the word for a cold in
Portuguese is all my constant, but some mockups, deeper sound. And that's the European
Portuguese word. In Brazilian
Portuguese, you say, no ice-free atom has free atom. So my constantly bass sound is a cold in
European, Portuguese. And ice-free album is a cold
in Brazilian Portuguese. So how would you say, I've caught a cold? Openai mcons to pass some
upon my constitute person. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. They gave his free atom AU
pay day on his preamble. Here's another useful phrase. Don't know, I don't know. It means again, or as you
know in Brazilian Portuguese, do is pronounced G. So
you would say genome. Genome. Again. How would you say,
I've caught a cold? Again? Mcons deeper sound the novel. Upon. Mcons deeper sound a novel. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, take a genome AU Begay
on his free LOG novel. So just to point out as well, when you have an n followed by the letter H in Portuguese, such as n upon UI is pronounced
as though the h we're y. So it's a near, near, but it's also a nasal sound. So it's more like it's happening at the back of your throat. So near upon UI, upon my constant but sound or Begay on
history Alto genome. How would you say, I'm
going to the beach again? Vo upper diagonal will apply ethanol or in
Brazilian Portuguese, AU VO upaya, genome,
AU variety, novel.
120. 35e - a gripe: Here's another word that can
go with up and UI or peggy. Agreed. Agreed. It means the flu, a grip or in
Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it. I agreed. Agreed. P. So how would you
say I've caught the flu? Upon yeah, I agree. I agree. Or agree. P AU peggy agreed. I've caught the flu again up and yeah, I agree upon, yeah, I agree to the novel or
in Brazilian Portuguese. They gave agreed PG novel
AU Peggy epigenome. The flu is terrible. A grip. Grip or agre, agre P at the high level. We've had him, which means I've hurt my or my
something hurts. In European
Portuguese, middle is the Brazilian Portuguese
version is the plural. So I've hurt my
plural body part. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you say mid doin. But d means I've broken. In Brazilian Portuguese
you say Kevin, a or A0 cabaret. Medical men too, means some
medicine or any medicine, or literally it
means a medicine. Up and UI means I've caught, and that's a European
Portuguese word. In Brazilian Portuguese you
say begging or AU Peggy. Mcintosh person means a cold. Again, that's a European
Portuguese word. In Brazil, you would
say history album. The novel, or G novel
means again and agreed. Or agreed. P means the flu.
121. 35f - sinto-me: This next phrase is a nice
phrase in Portuguese. It's another one that's
slightly different in European and
Brazilian Portuguese. But you might notice
a pattern this time, where the moon goes at the
end in European Portuguese, or in front of the verb
in Brazilian Portuguese. Seen tumor. Symptom
means I feel. And in Brazilian Portuguese, you say missing two. Missing two. Sin tumor. In European Portuguese,
AU, missing two. In Brazilian Portuguese. They mean I feel. How would you say I feel? Seem to move mine. Seem to ban or in Brazilian Portuguese.
Are you missing two? Missing two Bain.
I feel very well. Seem to move more
into been seen to memory to mine or a missing two. Missing two main obeying. I feel very well
today. Thank you. More into biology or big album. Seem to memory into
BioBrick album. Or in Brazilian Portuguese a or mucin to move to ban
all of the gavel. Ame seem to mind to
biology over the gavel. I feel terrible. Seem to reveal, seem to prevail. Oh, hey, you're missing two. Missing two. The heaven. I feel absolutely terrible. Absolutely. Terrible. Symptoms. Absolute amount, del Valle
or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU, missing two, absolute
dementia to heaven. Hey, You Me see into
absolute dimension. Now. I've caught the flu and I
feel absolutely terrible. I Agriba, symptom absolute
mess them up and I agree, it seemed to me absolute
domain. They're evil. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU peggy agreed be emissive to absolute
dementia, the heaven. Au peggy agreed P, it missing to absolute
dementia to heaven.
122. 35g - não me sinto: How would you say in Portuguese, I feel fine today, but
I've caught a cold again. Seem to move buying, ocher, must mcons deeper sound, normal. Symptom of buying all you might constitute
bass sound novel. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Missing to Ben Zhi, mass Peggy, history Abu genome. Missing to Bain mass. They gave his free adult genome. Once you put the
word now in front of a phrase that has
moved on the end. It always ends up moving
them in front of the verb. So the negative of sin
tumor is now missing two. Missing two. And seeing as the word or knee is already
up front in Brazilian, the negative phrase,
I don't feel is the same in both Brazilian
and European versions. Now MS2 or in
Brazilian Portuguese, now missing two surveys in European Portuguese and me
in Brazilian Portuguese. Now I'm going to
now missing two. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you might also use the word AU. Au now, missing. I don't feel. So how would you say
I don't feel well. Now missing to bind. Now my scene to bind or
AU now missing to Bain. Au now missing to Bain. I don't feel terrible but
I don't feel well today. Normalcy into trivial mash. Now myosin to bind origin. Now my scene to
match numbers into biology or in
Brazilian Portuguese, AU now missing to the hovel, the mass now missing to biology. Now missing mass, now
missing to Bain OG. I don't feel well. I've caught the flu. Now myosin to bind
up and I agree. Now myosin to bind up
and yeah, I agree. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU now missing to Bain. Begay, agreed p. Now missing
to Bain. The gay or G3P.
123. 35h - doente: How would you say in Portuguese? I don't feel fantastic, but I don't feel terrible. Now my scene two fantastic. Now missing to prevail. Numbers seem to fantastical. Mass. Numbers seem to prevail. Here is a final
health-related word for this lesson. Do N'T. Doing. It means ILL. Do N'T. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Do and she doing she. So how would you
say, I feel ill? Seem to medulla and
it seemed to do end. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
am missing to do and she won't be seen to do
when I feel very ill. Seem to mind to blue and seem to my mind to do Enter or
in Brazilian Portuguese. Humason to my to-do entity into mine to do and I
don't feel ill today. Now I'm going to do anthology. Now mucin to do anthology, or in Brazilian Portuguese
A10 missing to do N GOOG. Now missing to do and GOOG. I am ill. Still do and still do wind. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Aoa still doing, she
is still doing UL. That do end to end. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
will say, is that when she, and we'll say S, w and g, pedro is very ill today. Bedroom, I'm going to do
int origin, bed rest. I'm going to do nth order
or in Brazilian Portuguese, bamboo a stem me
to do and geology. Bedroom. I stumble into Duan GOOG.
124. 35i - recap: How would you say in Portuguese, Maria was ill yesterday. Maria Esteva do end on time. Maria Esteva went on time. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Maria Esteva Guangxi on theme. Maria S. David Guangxi on thing. So in this lesson
we've had doing, which means I've hurt my
or my something hurts. And that's the European
Portuguese way of saying it. In Britain. Portuguese, you
would say medulla. In the plural. You say doing, which means my somethings. So you can put any plural
body part after this. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you say middling. Part D means I've broken
in European Portuguese. Cabaret or a, okay, re, means I've broken in
Brazilian Portuguese. Medical men two means some
medicine or any medicine. Or literally it
means a medicine. Upon UI is, I've caught
in European Portuguese. Or AUP. Gay means I've caught
in Brazilian Portuguese. My constant Python is a code
in European Portuguese. Has preamble, is a cold. In Brazilian Portuguese. The novel or genome means, again, agreed or agreed. P means the flu. Seen Toomer. Means, I feel in
European Portuguese. In Brazilian Portuguese
you would say instead missing two. Missing two. Then in the negative, you say now missing. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a will now missing. So when you put the word
noun in front of any verb that has on the end goes
in front of the verb. And that's why sin tumor
becomes now magazine. And then we had due end or
do n ci, which means ill.
125. 35j - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How do you say in Portuguese? I feel very well today, but yesterday I eat some
fish and it was terrible. Seem to me to do int origin. Muslim time. You
step into reveal. Seem to me to do any math
on time commutation. Each delta reveal in
Brazilian Portuguese, am missing two more to do and GOOG Muslim thing commutation. Yes, David to heaven to do and GOOG Muslim tank
commutation, Stairway to Heaven. I would like some medicine. I've caught a cold. Maybe come into my constant at some ghetto medical
opinion or my constant, but some, We're in
Brazilian Portuguese. A medical man to pick a history of American men to the
gate and history album. I caught the flu yesterday, but today I feel fine upon yeah, I agree upon
time must also seem to have been agreed upon
time mythologies into my B9 or in
Brazilian Portuguese. And you, Peggy
agreed be on time. Mythology missing to Bain. Au peggy agreed beyond
mythology, missing to Ben. Maria was very ill after-dinner. Maria Esteva morning to
blend the post to Gentile, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Maria SDV to do angie
the poised to Gentile. Is he l. Your study when you listed to end in
Brazilian Portuguese alias. Alias that the winch. I've caught the flu again. Upon. Yeah, I agree. But the
novel upon Yeah, I agree. But the novel in
Brazilian, Portuguese. And you, Peggy, agreed. Pg novel. Au Peggy, I agree. Pg novel. I don't feel very well.
I've caught a cold. Now we are seen to move
to bind up on UI sound. Now I'm going to move to line
up my consciously Python. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AU now missing tomato vein. They gave his preamble. Now missing two multi-domain. The day when history. Do you have any
medicine for a cold? Maybe come into paddock, mcons deeper some time to come into parenchyma
comes to Python. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, most 18 medical history album. Both they think
I've hit my fault. Dilemma, obey, doing, obey. Or Midway. Midway, who pay? I've broken my leg. Aparna, in Brazilian
Portuguese. Gabriel piano.
126. 35k - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? About a t time. T, time. I broke my nose yesterday. Doing a BATNA
dilemma, a persona. I've hit my leg was
doing was all we wish. My eyes hurt. Vote tomorrow. Era of automatic

sound De Maria. I've caught a cold from Maria. Up on Yeah, I agree. But the babbled novel
upon Yeah, I agree. But the Bible, the novel, I've caught the flu
from parabola again. Now my scene to move
to bind oxygen. Now I'm going to
move to biology. I don't feel very well today. Seem to be fantastic. Why Agoda seem to
move fantastic. I feel fantastic now.
127. 35l - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How do you say in Portuguese? What do you want to do later? Fuzzier and fuzzier, my star. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, will give, will
say Carol fuzzier, my Starkey, who gave us they
care for their strategy. Are you going to hire a car for the week? Hello, gotten garbled. Amana will say via we'll
gotten garbled manner. The television doesn't work at television now from Sirona. At that it is done.
Now comes the owner. Can I change it, please? Post to slash travel.
Bustle of that. I will flash drive or a postal

128. 35m - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What do these Portuguese
