About This Class

Hello and welcome to “3 Minute Portuguese - Course 2” The aim of this course is to make Portuguese accessible to anybody regardless of age, educational background or "aptitude" for learning. This course leads on from "3 Minute Portuguese - Course 1" and new language structures are introduced to enable you to communicate in more situations when on holiday abroad.

My method for teaching Portuguese is simple but effective. It works for anybody, no matter what your requirements. I have been teaching foreign languages for over ten years and I’ve taught a wide range of students of all ages and backgrounds, including students with learning difficulties, so I know my method is accessible to absolutely anyone, with no exception.

With this course, it’s almost as if you have your very own language tutor at your beck and call. Take it with you wherever you are and have a quick listen to one of the lessons whenever you find yourself with three minutes to spare. You will be amazed at how much your language skills will develop after just a few minutes a day of study. You will start to learn the Portuguese language in a simple, logical and fun way.

You will learn a variety of words that you will learn to put together to form sentences that will be useful in any visit to Portugal, Brazil or any other Portuguese speaking country, and you'll learn how to put the words together to form sentences, saying exactly what you want.

There is ample opportunity throughout the course to practise what you've learnt, and structured repetition ensures you'll never forget what you've learnt.

1. Introduction to the course: Hello, and welcome to three-minute Portuguese course. This course is a follow-up to three-minute Portuguese course one. And it uses all of the words and phrases that we learned in that course. So if you haven't learned the first course, you should do that before starting this one. Just like in the last course, this course covers both European and Brazilian Portuguese. And I explained the differences in vocabulary and pronunciation throughout. This course is based on the method are developed for teaching languages, which I use in all my classes and courses. The method will get you speaking quickly without the struggle normally associated with language learning. Just like with the last course. Remember that 3 min is the key to effective learning. Keep your study sessions short to avoid boredom and you'll maintain your enthusiasm. You'll be more consistent in your learning. And you're also memorize words much more easily and effectively if you stick to just short bursts of study rather than long drawn-out lessons. So I hope you enjoy this course. Let's begin. 2. 10a - the bill: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap of the words and phrases we learned in the previous lesson. How do you say in Portuguese? Good evening. Board added or both? Allergy. Goodbye. Ciao. Hello. Hello. Good day. Bond here. Or bungee. See you soon. At the logo. Good morning. Bond or bond Jia. Goodnight. Boy annoyed or Boyne, which here's your first word in Portuguese for this course. I've gone into account. It means the bill or gone into. So how would you say in Portuguese? I would like the Bill. Kerry, what? I would like my bill. Emilia. Emilia quanta. The bill is for him. Gone deeper. You go into a para. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, are gone into a para. Ellie. I gone into a powder, Ellie. Here's your next phrase for this lesson. Omega Hoffer do. Gaffer, do. And it means a bottle of Obama. A gaffer bottle. And do. In Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it more omega half a G. Omega half IG, omega or omega half a G. And it means a bottle of, how would you say in Portuguese, a bottle of wine? Omega. Omega half a DVM or omega Hoffer G venue, omega halfedge. Even you. I would like a bottle of wine. Omega half at the venue. Kettle omega half the venue. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, ghetto omega half a dv1, get omega half had given you. 3. 10b - masculine and feminine "two": How would you say in Portuguese, I would like to bottles of wine, please. Do watch TV news flash by border. Ghetto. Do watch the news flash, fab order. Or in Brazilian Portuguese you would say ghetto. Do ask a half cohosh, GV new, por favor. Carol do as cohosh, GV new prefab or two, or two. In Portuguese, there are two ways to say too. There's a masculine version and a feminine version. You have Deutsche. Deutsche, which is two in the masculine or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it doorways, and then do wish. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, do us is the feminine word for two. You should always use Deutsche or toys as your default version of two. However, if it's used in front of a feminine object, then use dual wash or do us instead. So that's why we had do wish go half ash for two bottles. How would you say the bottle? Go have fun? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, IGA. Iga half. How would you say the bottle of wine? The venue. The venue, or in Brazilian Portuguese? I got half a G venue. I got half a G venue. To say the wine in Portuguese, you say all we knew. Venue. It's a masculine noun. How would you say, I would like the wine? Ghetto moving you? In this lesson so far we've had a quanta, which means the bill. Omega HalfAdder, or omega half a G means a bottle of omega half a day venue. Or omega half a G venue means a bottle of wine. Or do wash mean to. Deutsch is the masculine or in Brazilian Dubois. And do wash is the feminine, or in Brazilian Portuguese, do us. Then venue. Venue means the wine. 4. 10c - a bottle of water: How would you say in Portuguese, the wine is delicious. Venue. Venue. Easily see awesome. The wine is very good. When you move into bone. To bone. The wine is for me. When you a parameter, we knew a para mean. I think the wine is always very good here. But I mean, venue, a sample mean to blocky. But we knew a sample moon walking or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say. But I mean, we knew a simply my toolbar key. Movie, new assembly, money too wacky. My wine is terrible. May will be new. Eta reveal. Who may be new? Or in Brazilian Portuguese venue, venue eta heaven. Now you might be able to guess what this next phrase means. Omega half a daga. Daga, daga. It means a bottle of water. Omega half adder agua. And the, and the Agua. When you hear them spoken in European Portuguese, sound as though they're one word. So rather than saying omega, alpha do Agua, you'll hear it omega half a dogma. In Brazilian Portuguese. It's more like Walmart go half a jaguar, omega half a Jaguar. So it means a bottle of water. How would you say the bottle of water? Half a day. Agga. Agga. Agga. Agga. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. I got half a jaguar. I got half a jaguar. I would like a bottle of water, please. Omega.gov slash five over omega half of the August 1st for or in Brazilian Portuguese. Omega half a jaguar por favor. Omega half a jaguar por favor. 5. 10d - Quanto custa?: How would you say in Portuguese? I would like a bottle of water for the table, please. Omega have a dog. Well, but I may as a special love for omega half a doubt what parameter has a special border. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, omega half a Jaguar. But I may as a proof of order, half a Jaguar. But I may ask how would you say the bottle of water for me, please? Half a diagram, but amidst fast-forward. Again, half of that I've got Pyramus fashionable or in Brazilian Portuguese. I got half a jaguar. Pardon me, por favor. I got half a jaguar. Pardon me, por favor. Now here's a little question that you can use. Quantile USTA Q1 to Q2 star. It means how much does it cost? Quantic USTA. But in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it quantile Cuscuta. So quiet to crush the quantile Gustaf. In fact, you can use quantile push that to mean how much is it or how much does it cost? And you can also use it in front of things to mean how much is whatever that object is. E.g. quantile, quantile Cousteau. Frankly, this means how much is the chicken? Or in Brazilian Portuguese at Quantico stab, Frank. Quantile Gustaf omega alpha, quantile Gustaf omega half. How much is a bottle? Or in Brazilian Portuguese you would say Quantic USTA, omega alpha, quantile Cousteau omega half. So quantile q star can mean how much is something or how much does it cost? Literally, it means how much costs? Quantile Cousteau. How would you say how much is the chicken? Quanto Cousteau flag? Quantile Cousteau. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, quantile. Quantile Cousteau, Frankel. How much is the pizza? Quanto Gustaf, Piazza, quantile Gustaf, a visa, or in Brazilian Portuguese, quanta pasta, pizza. Quanta pasta or pizza. 6. 10e - the letter C: How would you say in Portuguese, how much is the wine here? To Cousteau, moving your key, quantile Kush, there will be new archi, or in Brazilian Portuguese, Quantico, start moving. You are q0, q1 to Kusto within your key. How much is that? Quantile cool studies too. Quanto coach days to or in Brazilian Portuguese. Quantile cos Theta is to, Quantic USTA is Sue. Now this next phrase is a useful one to have commonly senza. Senza. It means, excuse me, commonly sensor. Now the word column literally means width, and it's spelled COM, but you pronounce it almost like the English word Kong, like King Kong. But you don't pronounce the jianmian con, con. And it creates what's called a nasal sound. You almost close your throat at the end. Commonly sensor. Commonly sensor. It means, excuse me. Now, you might also notice the little squiggle underneath the letter C in the sensor. And the little squiggle is called a sub dealer. And all it does is it tells you to pronounce the sea, like the letter S. So that's why we say at least sense. Actually, whilst we're on the topic of the letter C, there are a few more interesting things to say. And that's because the letter C in Portuguese can be pronounced in two ways. Like a K or like an S. The way that you pronounce it depends on what comes after it. C plus E or I equals S. If you see the letter C in front of an E or an I, then you pronounce it like an S. E.g. Sonata. Sonata means carrot or cinema. Cinema means cinema. So you can see when it's followed by an E or an I, you pronounce the sea like an S. C plus a 0 or u equals k. If you see the letter C in front of an a, an 0, or a u, you pronounce it like a K. E.g. cafe. Cafe means coffee. Con. Con means with or fantastic. Fantastic. Whew means fantastic. So you always pronounce a C-like a K when it's followed by an a and 0 or a you see with this Adela. Finally, if you see that a C with a sub dealer, you always pronounce it like an S. So we've already had the phrase commonly sensor. Commonly sensor. Well, that actually has both different pronunciations of letter C in that phrase. Gone. Well that's like a K because it's followed by an 0. Then in the middle of the sensor we have a C followed by an E. So that's pronounced like an S. And then we have a C with a subtler, some commonly sensor. That means, excuse me. Sum. Sum means heart. So a C with its Adela is pronounced like an S. 7. 10f - com licença: So we got a little sidetracked by the letter C. But we said that commonly senza means, excuse me in Portuguese. So how would you say, excuse me, how much is the wine currently sensor quanta Gustave new, commonly senza quantum Cousteau venue, or in Brazilian Portuguese, commonly senza quantile Gustave new, commonly senza quantile course there will be new. Excuse me. I would like the bill, please. Commonly sensor K2 account, especially specialist for commonly sensor ghetto according to Spanish travel or in Brazilian Portuguese, commonly senza, gateway quanta por favor. Currently sensor camera, quanta portfolio or excuse me, how much is a bottle of water? Sensor? Quantile Cousteau omega half that one. Sensor, quantile Cousteau omega half that one. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, commonly sensor quantile Cousteau omega half a jaguar. Commonly sensor quanto Cousteau omega half a jaguar. Everything to do here. I think. Me. And E. No, No. It isn't a bad man. 14. 11a - (to) try: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap of the words and the phrases that we learned in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese the bill? Account? A bottle of omega or omega half a G. A bottle of wine. Omega half of the venue, or omega half a G venue. To Deutsch in the masculine and the wash in the feminine. Or Dubois. Do us in Brazilian Portuguese. The wine bottle of water. Omega half of that. Or Oh my gosh, jaguar. The water. How much is it? Quanto Gustaf. How much is Quantico star? Excuse me? Only sensor. Now here's your first word in Portuguese for this lesson. It's a verb, Bravar. Bravar. It means to try Bravar. In Brazilian Portuguese, the R on the end of provider sounds more like a h. So you will hear it pronounced provi. Provi. It means to try, provide, or provost. And I've put the two in brackets, because in English the verb is to try, but sometimes we just say try. E.g. look at these two sentences. I would like to try the wine. Can I try the wine? The first sentence uses to try. I would like to try the wine. And the second sentence just uses try. Can I try the wine? This is an English thing that doesn't change anything in Portuguese. In Portuguese, you always use Bravar, whether it's to try or just try in English. So how would you say I would like to try the wine? Moving you get will provide moving you I would like to try the cheese. Ghetto, provide occasional care provider occasion. 15. 11b - posso?: So we've just learned that the verb, or provide a means to try, and we'll just try. Oh, here's your next word in Portuguese. Parcel. Parcel. It means can I Basel. So how would you say in Portuguese? Can I try the wine? Boss to provide moving parcel provider when you tonight I try the cheese. Postal provider occasion. The possible provider occasion. I would like to try that, please. Gail, provide is to scratch favor or provide is to por favor. The word possible also has a second meaning. It can mean may I Boston. So possible can mean can I or May I. There's no difference in Portuguese. So how would you say, May I try that? Supernova is to provide ease. Now, don't worry too much about being polite in Portuguese. In fact, if you're English or American, you might be somewhat surprised by how little the Portuguese say things like, Please. When I lived abroad, I was often accused of being too polite and saying please, too often. Don't worry about saying level or por favor all the time and also don't worry about using postal thinking. It means can I. That's why I've included this little explanation to say that possible can be used to mean can I or may i. And it's not an impolite word at all in Portuguese. Postal providers can mean, may I try that? Or just Can I try that? How would you say May I try the wine? Possible provide moving. You will provide moving. You May I try the cheese? Both supervolcano shoe, boss supervisor. Okay. So Basel means can I, but you can also use it to mean, may I say, don't worry about being impolite in Portuguese. 16. 11c - (to) pay (for): Here's another way for you to use in Portuguese, Hagar bugger. It means to pay beggar. But just like when we said that pro Val in Brazilian Portuguese is pronounced. The OH on the end of pagan is also pronounced more like an H in Brazil. Bagger. Bagger. Bagger means to pay. In Portuguese, you don't pay for something, you simply pay. What I mean is that you don't have to use the word butter with bagger, like we do in English. E.g. if you want to say, I would like to pay for the wine in Portuguese, you just say ghetto began moving you. Carol Packard moving you. Which literally means I would like to pay the wine. So PAGA is to pay or to pay for. You don't have to add the extra word patterns in Portuguese. So how would you say, can I pay for the coffee is possible bugger, who's cafes? Pause to PAGA, Oscar fish, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Possible PAGA cafes. Boss to PAGA whose cafes? So we've had Bravar, which means two, tri, means can I or may i. And PAGA means to pay or to pay for. So how would you say May I pay for the wine? Moving you post to PAGA movie knew I would like to pay the bill. Bogata quanta. I would like to pay my bill a minute. How would you say I would like to pay for the food? The comida. K2 Bogata, comida. May I pay for the food? Possible beggar? A comida. Basu Bogata, Camila. 17. 11d - What's a verb?: I'll give you a final verb for this lesson. Fuzzier and fuzzier. It means to make fuzzier. And once again, in Brazilian Portuguese, the OH on the end is pronounced more like an H. You will say fuzzy. Fuzzy. Fuzzy means to make and it's another verb. But once the verb, all these words that I've been giving to you this lesson with a two in front of called verbs. They are sometimes called action words to try to pay to make. In English, you often see them with the word to in front of them. So far we've had Bravar, which means to try, PAGA, which means to pay and fast, which means to make. You might've noticed that they all end in the letter R. And that's something that's common to all verbs in Portuguese. They all end in the letter R. How would you say in Portuguese? Can I make a reservation? Postal fuzzer? Both to fuzzier. Wilma has ever I would like to make a reservation. Has alpha? Is alpha. May I make a reservation for three people, please? Both sofa. There has ever been so much more possible for their human reservoir. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, possible fuzzer. But address the source port of arrival, post to Omaha server. Address the source port of arrival. I would like to make a reservation for eight people. Reservoir to pursue wash. How has that of a better way to pursue ash? So in this lesson, we've had the verb, which means to try or just try. Boss means can I. Or you can use it also to mean may I. Bagger means to pay or to pay for. So you don't need to use the word butter after Baghdad in Portuguese. And then fuzzer means to make or just make. 18. 11e - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: Now we've added a few verbs to our collection of Portuguese vocabulary. Let's practice putting them together into sentences. How would you say in Portuguese? I would like to try that please. Do provide is to search for war or ghetto provided is through portfolio. Can I try the wine? Possible, provide moving you? Possible. Provide a movie new. Can I make a reservation? Pose to pose to further? I would like to make a reservation. Java. Java. Can I make a reservation for three people, please? Postwar era, but a trespasser. Both to further specify board or in Brazilian Portuguese postal address. But so as opposed to fuzzer. But can I pay for the coffee? Cafe? Possible Bogata Cafe. Can I try the cheese, please? Provide your postal provider. May I try the chicken, please? Both to provide oh fine. Whoops, fast-forward. Possible per viral or fungal ball. Can I pay here? Possible Bogata key, postal Bogata key. Can I pay the bill? Please? Pause to Bogata going to specify more. Postal bugger accountable for. 19. 11f - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some reverse translations. What do these Portuguese sentences mean in English? Both to provide is to smash travel. Both to provide a source first level. Can I try that please? Ghetto. Bogata quanta special board. I would like to pay the bill, please. Possible fuzzier Omaha. Omaha server, but attached massage level. Can I make a reservation for three people? Please? Pause to provide a piece, especially for both to provide a piece, especially war. Can I try the pizza, please? Postal Pacto parcel. Can I pay for the wine? Bottle? Beggar? Who cafe? Possible beggar who cafe? Can I pay for the coffee? Special award? Carol beggar, OB newsflash travel. I would like to pay for the wine, please. Both to provide postal provider moving you. Can I try the wine? Ghetto? Provide occasion? Will provide occasion. I'd like to try the cheese. Possible Bogata going to slash level. Possible pagoda quanta special board. Can I pay the bill, please? 20. 11g - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: What we'll do now are some recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese, to hire more, to rent a car? A week or one week. We must Amana. Two weeks. Do wish to manage for one week or for a week. Boardroom or Samantha, a day or one day. India. India. For one day. India or Perugia. One month. Mesh or amaze, two days. Deutsch the ash or GS, two months. Jewish message or Mesos. Now, your first word for this lesson is the same as the English, but it's just pronounced a little differently. You wish. It means euros, a orange. If you want to say how much something is in Portuguese, you can use the little word Cousteau, which literally means it costs. We saw co-star in the phrase quanta pasta, which means how much does it cost or how much is it? So if you want to say it's €10, you would say literally in Portuguese, it costs €10 using the word pushed up for it costs. So how would you say in Portuguese, it's €10. That there's a huge push, that there's a use. The bill is €50. I've gone into Gustafsson Quinta, use a contact coach does in Quinta €1. How would you say it's €1? Push that, oh my gosh, that the wine is €10. When you push that data, you will use. When you push that there's a uterus. So you're literally saying the wine costs €10. It's €5 for one day. Push the broom, dia Cousteau as seen here. 38. 13b - cêntimos: This next where it goes nicely with euros. St. Thomas. St Thomas. It means sense centimeters. So how would you say it's $0.50? Pushed us in quintessentially, most Q-star seem quintessentially moose. The bottle of water is $0.60. I have a daga. Daga, daga. Cuz it's $0.50 for a bottle of water. That's in quintessentially much for omega half a daga, daga, daga, daga. Now we've had the word pour in the last lesson. And I said it means for when you use it in front of a length of time. But poor can also mean per. Again, you use it in front of a length of time. Let me show you some example phrases. Por Dia. Dia means per day, or in Brazilian Portuguese, apologia. But then ballroom dia. Ballroom Dia means for one day. Ballroom Dia, or prolonged diarrhea. Producing the ash. Pollution dash means for two days. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Bordeaux is gs. Porcelain. Porcelain manner means per week. For semana. Ballroom. Samantha Puma. Samantha means for one week. Puma Samantha, Purdue, OWL. Purdue wish to manage or do as Samantha's means for two weeks. For mesh. Mesh means per month. Or in Brazilian Portuguese bought a mess. Ballroom mesh. Ballroom mesh means for one month or ballroom mess message. But the message means for two months. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, puerto do is Mesos. Or even put a Pessoa. Pessoa means per person. Per Pessoa. So you can use bore to mean PR or fall when it's used in front of a length of time. So how would you say, how much is it per day? Quantile pushed upward the quantile or in Brazilian Portuguese, quantile Gustaf, apologia, quanta, cuz the poor dear. 39. 13c - um ano: In this lesson so far, we've had a uterus, which means euros. Same diminish means cents. And then we learn that the word boar can mean. How would you say it's €10 per week? To study the evolution course, the manna push that there's €1 per semana. It's €50 per person. Pushed us in Quinta euros per Pessoa, pushed us in Quinta Pessoa. How much is the car per week? Quantile Gustaf, person manner, quanto costa Rica, whole-person manner. Now here's your next word in Portuguese. Man. Oh man. It means a year or one year. How would you say it's €10 per year? Push that there's €1 per annum. Push that paran. How much is it per year? Quantile. Quantile for step one. How much is it for two years? Quantico support those animals. Quanta pasta for those animals. So because the word dog leash and in an S, and then the word for years starts with an a. The S on the end of Deutsche is surrounded by vowels. And don't forget when you have an S that's surrounded by vows, It's pronounced like a z. Instead of Deutsche animals. You say DOI Zahn, do is animals. And that's the same in Brazilian Portuguese as well. Here will be boys animals. Do his animals. Quanta, pasta, put buoys animals. How much is it for two years. 40. 13d - Portuguese money: Portuguese money. The way the Portuguese talk about how much something is, is very similar to how we do it in English. Usually in English, we only say the word euro, e.g. it's €2.50. And we don't bother saying sense. Well, this is the same in Portuguese. You would say, Gosh, that those that use synchro into do is they seem Quinta. On the other hand, you would use the word for cents, which is centimeters. If there were no euro is involved. E.g. it's $0.20. Vincent Gustave into centimeters. However, this isn't set in stone and it just depends on who is speaking. One person might choose to say €3.20. Another might say €3.20, or another might just say 320. It's exactly the same in Portuguese. Additionally, the way that money is written varies from place to place. These are the following ways that I've seen money written on price labels and Portugal, I've seen €3.50 written with the Euro sign upfront. I've seen it with the Euro sign at the end. I've seen it written with €1 sign in the middle. One thing that is the same wherever you go in Portugal is that the Portuguese use a comma instead of a decimal point and a decimal point instead of a comma. So that's why there is a comma in the price. €3.50 is three comma. €53,000 will be written three decimal 0.000. Fresh meal. Meal means thousand thresh mill. Now, all of that is true in Portugal. But what about in Brazil? Well, in Brazil, they obviously don't have euros. Instead, the currency is the Brazilian hail. The singular is hail, and the plural is ice. Hail, Hey ice. And then the **** is broken up into sentinels. Cent doubles. That means cents. In Brazil. The Brazilian **** uses the symbol R with $1 sign. It's a capital R and then $1 sign. And it's the same usage as the Portuguese. Use your rows in that they use commas, where we would use a decimal point or period. And they use a decimal point or a period where we would use a comma. Six is six comma 00. And in Brazil you were say, says, Hey, ice says, Hey, I is 6,000, would be six. Decimal 0.000. It's safe middle AIs. If you wanted to write something like 1045 Hayes and $0.25, you would write one decimal, 0.045 comma 25. And that's quite interesting. Go Hey eyes. Vinci Simcoe, St. doubles. Or 1025 would be 1025. This haze, Vinci seem cool. 41. 13e - Brazilian money: So just to recap, in Brazil, they use hail for one Hale and boys Hayes for two Hayes. And then sent novels. Sent Davos is the Brazilian sentence. And then obviously in Portugal, they use Euros and centimeters. So how would you say it's €3.50? Push that, trace €1 synchro into Kusto. Quinta. How would you say it's €10 per week? There's a euros per seminar course that there's €1 per se manner. So in this lesson, we've had a YOLO, which means euros. Send image means cents. Pore is per put Dia. Or in Brazil, apologia means per day. Samantha is per week. Per mesh, or put a mess means per month. Porpoise soar is per person means one year, or do his animals means two years. Boron is per year. Hail means one hail, which is the Brazilian currency. Noise, Hey, ice means to hate ice. And then sent Davos is Brazilian sense. 42. 13f - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese? It's €60. Say Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz. It's €81. Push that. We tend to assume that we tend to use. It's $0.50. Pushed us in quintessentially, moose pushed us in quintessentially moose. It's €20 for two days. Push that VNTR is produced the ash Kush dive into €1, produce the ash. It's €53. Pushed us in quintile. Q-star seem quaint. I trust that you will lose its €83. Q-star. We tend to address the uterus. Q-star we tend to use It's €10 per bottle. Push that there's a euros per gaffer who's studies I forgot alpha. It's €52 in Queen Dido is that you could start seeing Quinta IDO is €1, it's €80. Push that or it into a course that we tend to lose its data euros per month. That three into euros per mesh. Push data into a euros per mesh. 43. 13g - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some reverse translations. What do these Portuguese sentences mean in English? Push the vdu, which dive into you may lose its €21, which does seem Quinta. You pushed us in quintile human uterus. It's €51. Who starts in Quinta? A huge push that same quintile. It's €50. Q-star, say data center image. Does it into centimeters. It's $0.70. Who's starting point? I trust that you will use pushed us in quintile. It's €53. Who stutter into euros per mesh. Push that printer. Euros per mesh is €30 per month. Cost. I've introduced that you will lose push that when they do is that you will lose its €22 push that we then Dido is a uterus Q-star. We then Dido is that you will lose its €82. That we tend to use, a cost that we tend to human use. It's €81. Push data center, and you push that says Santa Cruz. It's €60. 44. 13h - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. Now, here's a useful question phrase in Portuguese, or dash. Dash. It means at what time. Now, we don't always say the word at in English in the phrase at what time. So I've put it in brackets because sometimes we just say what time. However, in Portuguese you always have to say a good brush. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say R or S. So how would you say at what time is the reservation? I could brush a Java. Java, or in Brazilian Portuguese at the auras AR Has that ever Aggie or as a server? Now here's the most important meal of the day. We'll begin one muscle group again will Mosul. It means the breakfast group again, while most actual fact the word are Massu means lunch in Portuguese. Now, did you get this vast translation correct? Or did you miss out the word which means the because literally in Portuguese you say, at what time is the breakfast at go orange, a pecan, one muscle. So in English, the sentence is, at what time is breakfast? But in Portuguese you must always say the breakfast. So you have to say at what time is the breakfast? You always say open while muscle. And never just again one Muslim or as a group again are Muslim. 50. 14b - o almoço: How would you say what time is breakfast? Or wash? A will begin one more. So a will begin html muscle. How much is it? Quantity goes down. 58. 14j - Recap of words so far: How would you say in Portuguese also combine or tan being perfect. But if I do or Buffet to, to hire more to rent Aligarh. Nice same particle or sympatric. To pay more, to pay for a bottle of wine. Oh my God. Half of the venue. The food, the comida. I would like terrible. Del Valle. My mail, Amelia per week for two months for Jewish message. Or put a doit Mesos. A car. Cow. My in the plural. Males. It's meniere's or in Brazilian Portuguese. Most males as mean, yes. Can I or May I? Boston to make fuzzer? To try profile. Here. Aki. Yes. C for two days. Produce Diaz or toys. That is is way. Please. Firewall or port five or no. Now, the lunch well, most excuse me. Only sensor. The breakfast will begin while muscle. It isn't. Now. 59. 15a - telling the time in Portuguese: Let's start this lesson with a quick recap of the words and phrases we learned in the last lesson. How would you say in Portuguese at what time? Or ash? The breakfast will begin one more. So the lunch, well muscle, the dinner. Magenta. Now this lesson is going to be all about telling the time in Portuguese. Here's your first time-related phrase. Ash quite true, or ash. Ash quite true, orange. It means at 04:00. And you can change the number of quiet room to any number to say at a clock. Ash, quite true, or ash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it as quite true or S. So how would you say in Portuguese at 03:00? Ash trays or ash ashtrays or rash, or in Brazilian Portuguese as Thrasybulus. Thrasybulus. How would you say it is at 05:00? A Hash Sync or ash. Ash think rash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a as simple or as a as simple or as dinner is at 08:00. Agenda as O2 or rush. Rush. Or in Brazilian Portuguese as O2 or us. Or us. How would you say breakfast is at 07:00? Began about muscle a HashSet or ash will begin our muscle a or set the order. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say, who began while muscle ASHP or S. Again, our muscle ASHP or as you say ash. And then a number plus or ash. And it means at whatever number o'clock. 60. 15b - 7am vs 7pm: 07:00 A.M. versus 07:00 P.M. there are no words for AM or PM in Portuguese, but they do have a way of differentiating between the two. You can use these three phrases. That ammonia, ammonia means in the morning. And you can use this to mean am down Magna. That data. That data means in the afternoon. You can use this to mean PM, that data. Or in Brazilian Portuguese you pronounce it that algae that are GI. And then the annoyed that no, it means in the evening. This is another phrase that you can use to mean PM, the annoyed. Literally the word noise means night, but because there's no difference between the word for evening and afternoon than they use to mean later in the evening. In Brazilian Portuguese, you would say that no, HE, nano, HE. Now you can use these three phrases after you say the time to mean AM and PM. Generally, you use that data or that algae for times between 12:00 P.M. and 06:00 P.M. and then you can use the annoyed or the annuity for 07:00 P.M. until midnight. E.g. a. Joy to watch the ammonia. Ammonia or in Brazilian Portuguese, as we taught us that man. Yeah. So that means it's at 08:00 A.M. literally it is at 08:00 in the morning. Rush. Rush. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AS quite ruinous, that allergy AS quite reward us that our g, this means it is at 04:00 P.M. literally, it is at 04:00 in the afternoon as we talk trash than wait to watch than what this means. It is at 08:00 P.M. literally it is at 08:00 in the evening. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you will pronounce it a torus than or HE. As we taught us, that no, HE. There is one more little time phrase which is damage to gather. The metro gather. It means in the early morning. The word Madrid gada means early morning. So you can add them together after times between 01:00 A.M. and 05:00 A.M. after that, you can revert back to Diamond. Yeah. Now, all of these extra words are only necessary if you need to distinguish between an AM time and the PM time. If not, you don't need to bother using them. So we have the ammonia, that data or that allergy than annoyed, or that noise and damage to gather. 61. 15c - half past: How would you say in Portuguese, dinner is at 08:00 P.M. ASO to Russia than white ASOS, Taurus, the annoyed or in Brazilian Portuguese. As we taught us that no, HE a authorised than witchy. Literally again, you have to say the dinner is at 08:00 P.M. how would you say breakfast is at 07:00 A.M. again, while muscle a HashSet or ash pneumonia. Again on morsel, a HashSet, orange pneumonia. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say again, while most ASHP orders pneumonia, who began while most AASHTO or as pneumonia. Dinner is at 05:00 P.M. Kourosh that magenta AS think garage or in Brazilian Portuguese, who Gentile AS, think that allergy AS think that RG. Now this next phrase is similar to the last one we learned, but with a little bit extra on the end. Ashcroft through Emalia, quatro emia. It means at half-past four. Literally it means at 4.5. So mania means a half, and you can replace the word quatro with any number. So Asch Emalia means at half-past, whatever the number is. So how would you say in Portuguese, lunch is at half-past to Mosul. Mosul AS do as EMEA. Whenever you're talking about the time, in Portuguese, you always use the feminine version of two, which is due ash rather than the wish. That's because it's referring to or ash, meaning hours, which is a feminine word. So well, mosul, AS do as omega. How would you say it's at 05:30? As think we may. Cinco de Mayo. 62. 15d - quarter past: In this lesson, so far we've had Ashcroft through or ash as quite rude, or ash, which means at 04:00. But you can replace the word quite true with any number as quatro in Maya, as quadro EMEA means at half-past for pneumonia. Pneumonia means in the morning or you can use it to mean am. That data, that data or that data G means in the afternoon. Or you can use it to mean PM. And you can add this to the end of any time from 12:00 P.M. to 06:00 P.M. the annoyed or in Brazilian Portuguese that no, HE means PM or in the evening. And you can add this phrase onto the end of any time from 07:00 P.M. until midnight and then damage to gather them or through other means early in the morning. You can use this on Times from 01:00 A.M. until 05:00 A.M. How would you say the reservation is at half-past three. Has alpha h Tracy mayor, or has there ever a ashtrays emia? It's at 02:30 P.M. AS do as omega, that data, AS do as EMEA, that data. Let's add another time phrase as cuatro. Cuatro. It means at quarter past fall. And again, you can replace the word quiet room with any number. In Brazilian Portuguese, you would say as quadro Kinsey, as quatro McKinsey. Literally it means at 04:00 and 15, meaning 15 min. So how would you say lunch is at 02:15 while mosul, AS do as the keys? Well, most people do as deacons, or in Brazilian Portuguese, who are Muslim, AS do as the Kinsey, well, mosul, AS do as the Kinsey. How would you say it's at quarter past fall? As quite true? It Qin's AS quieter weekends. I would like to make a reservation at 07:15 as a reservoir HashSet. Care of as a server set E kins or in Brazilian Portuguese, Carol fuzzer, Omaha server as Suchi Kinsey, care of Omaha server. She Kinsey 63. 15e - quarter to: How would you say in Portuguese? It's at 05:15 P.M. cinco. Cinco. It gains or in Brazilian, Portuguese AS single Kinsey that allergy AS sync. We can see that our gee, my reservation is at 06:15 P.M. Amina has alpha amino assays, the gains that data, or in Brazilian Portuguese, Amina has Server, ASA see Kinsey that dark G, amino herself a. Asa see Kinsey that breakfast is at 08:15 in the morning. Who began my muscle against the ammonia. We'll begin while muscle as O2, econs and ammonia. Or in resilient Portuguese. Who began our muscle a as a way to Kinsey Diamond? Yeah. How would you say it's at 03:00 in the morning. As thresh them, Andrew gaba. Gaba. So when it's that early in the morning, you would use the word model gather rather than ammonia. So Maduro gather is really a word we don't have in English, but it refers to the very early morning. Now let's add another time phrase. Parish quad through, accuse the potash quiet room. It means at 03:45. And you can change quite true to any number, to say quarter to whatever time. Alkenes, a quiet room. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, are Kesey butter as quite true. So how would you say my reservation is at 07:45. Amir has alpha beta Android too. Amenorrhea, is that over two? It's at 06:45. A alkenes or potash set. A alkenes the brush set. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, AR Kinsey parish set G a, a Kinsey parish set G. 64. 15f - quinze para as...: We've just seen the phrase akin to the parish through, which means at quarter to fall. And in Brazilian Portuguese, I said your pronounce it or Kinsey butter as quite true. But actually, the word butter in Brazilian Portuguese is very often pronounced brow. In fact, in some very informal writing, such as text messages, you might see it written p or a rather than PAR. A. Batter is pronounced bre more often than not in Brazilian Portuguese. And when you have butter and us together, Here at pronounced plus z squared, z plus quadro means at 03:45, and that's how they were say it in Brazilian Portuguese. So in the last two examples, we had my reservation is at 07:45 and we said it was Amir has alpha a alkenes a pathway to put in Brazilian Portuguese, it would sound more like a media server. So the butter has weight two, would be plaza with two amino reservoir. A UK. Easy to don't worry too much about pronouncing it like that yourself. It's just if you hear people say it, then you'll know what it means. Now, the other example we had was it's at 06:45, which we said was a Atkins potash set, or in Brazilian Portuguese, AR Kinsey, but our set G. But most native Brazilian speakers would pronounce the patho and us as a AKI is the brush set G, a UK easy brush THE, but as I said, don't worry too much about pronouncing it like that yourself because it's quite a lot to remember and it's quite hard to say it at speed. But when you hear Brazilians speak, if you hear or brass, then you know, it's just their way of saying batter or para us. How would you say Dinner is at 06:45? A alkenes. Alkenes the parish set or in Brazilian Portuguese, who gentiles? Kinsey, prostate Ji, Hu Jintao a accused the prostate G. How would you say lunch is at 01:45? Muscle a accuser, but I should do wash. Muscle, alkenes abolish, do wash. And don't forget that we use the feminine word for to when we're talking about time. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say, well muscle, Kinsey plus do us well, Mosul, alkene Z plus to us. 65. 15g - Que horas são?: When you want to ask somebody what the time is right now, you can use this useful question. Orange sun. Sun. It means, what time is it? Go, what Asch sun. So how would you say, excuse me, What time is it? Currently senza brush some colonies sensor, Kourosh sun. So in this lesson so far we've had Ashcroft through or ash, which means at 04:00. And you can change quite true to any number. As quite true. Emalia Ashcroft through we made here at half-past for pneumonia means am or literally in the morning. That data or that data G means PM or in the afternoon. So from 12:00 P.M. until 06:00 P.M. non-weight or Daniel, HE means PM or in the evening from 07:00 P.M. until midnight. That mother gala means in the early morning. So from 01:00 A.M. until 05:00 A.M. Ashcroft through it. Or as quaternary Kinsey means at quarter past fall, literally add 4.15. And you can change quite true to any number against Spanish quiet room, or in Brazilian Portuguese. Easy Prescott through means at 03:45. And you can change quite true to any number. Then we've just had garage, garage sum, which means what time is it when you're asking what time it is right now? What time is it right now? All of the time phrases I've given you so far, I mean, at a specific time, they all start with the word ash. However, if you want to say what time it is right now, there's a slightly different way of saying it is. The phrase is sound plus a number plus or ash. Sound plus a number plus or ash means it is at something o'clock sound. Or ash, e.g. sound quite true or ash sound quite true. Or ash means it's 04:00. When you're telling somebody what time it is right now, you must say sum plus a number plus or ash. And that means it is something o'clock. Some quite true orange. It's 04:00 right now. And you don't need to say a little word ash that we've seen in all the other time phrases that we've looked at in this lesson. So sound quite true. Orange, It's 04:00, meaning it's 04:00. Right now, if you look at it, literally the word sound means oh, that's because all ash is plural. So literally in Portuguese you say they are 04:00, Will they are 4 h sound quite true or ash is 04:00. 66. 15h - são ... horas: When you're telling somebody what time it is right now, you must say some flash for it is a clock. E.g. some set to order SH, sound set or ash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, sounds sketchy or us. Sounds that GOS. It is 07:00. You can put other times after sound to say what time it is right now, e.g. sound cytokinins. Cytokinins, or in Brazilian Portuguese, sounds sketchy Kinsey. Sounds sketchy Kinsey. It is 07:15. Sounds kinda parish set. Some kids parish set. It's 06:45 or in Brazilian Portuguese, some Kinsey plus SHE, some Kinsey brush set G, or some set the media. Some seti mania. It is half-past seven. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Sal said she may sound familiar. So as long as you say sound, you can put anytime after that and that's telling someone what time it is right now. So how would you say in Portuguese? It is 04:00. Sound quite true or ash sound quite true. Orange. It is 09:30. Some Navi media. Some Navi media. It is 02:00 P.M. Sound do as that added. Some do as origin that data. Or in Brazilian Portuguese sound do as old as that delta G sound do as old as that algae. How would you say it's ten in the morning? Sound. There's what I should ammonia sound. There's orange pneumonia. It's two in the afternoon. Some do as well as some doors orange. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, sound do as old as that data, gee, sound do as auras that allergy. It's ten at night. Sound There's washed annoyed. Some disorders paranoid. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, sound disorders done with g, sound disorder, Stan Archie. It's three in the morning. Sound sound. 67. 15i - other times: Other times, in this lesson so far, we've learned how to say o'clock half-past, quarter past and quarter two. But what about the other times like 5% or 20 past? Well, in Portuguese, for anything past the hour, you just added on after the word E, which means end. So 07:05 would be set or set. G is seem cool. Literally it means 7.5. Anything to the hour, you use the word butter, which means four or before. So five to seven would be cinco, cinco parish set, or in Brazilian Portuguese, cinco. Cinco SHE, which literally means five before seven. Let's do a list of some of the most common times. We'll go from 07:00 A.M. to 08:00 A.M. and then you can change the 7.8 to any number you like. 07:00 in Portuguese is set to orange or sketchy or as five plus seven, literally use A7 and five set or set G sink per seven. Well literally you say 7.10, set E dash, set E dash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese said, Gee, this 07:15. Well, we've had that one already. Set the set the cancer literally 7.15 or in Brazilian Portuguese said she Kinsey, 24-seven would be 7.20 set deviant, deviant or sketchy, even CI HE Vinci. 07:25 would be 7.25 set the vintage theme set, even the sink or CHE, eventually is in such events using half-past seven. Well, we've had that one set omega set in media or set G in media. Now if you want to say 25 to eight, you say 25 before eight. Vintage single parasitoid to vintage single parents or E2, or in Brazilian Portuguese Vinci cinco to 2028 would be 20 before eight V into para as a way to Vint the parents way to or in Brazilian Portuguese Vinci parasitoids to 07:45. Well, we've had that one is literally 15 before eight. Chins patterns as a way to keep the parallels with two or Kinsey. Tend to eight would be ten before eight. Dash two, dash two. Or this way too. Five to eight is five before eight. Single panels way too simple. But as O2 or single parents or E2, then 08:00 is O2 or ash with two brush. You can change the numbers seven or eight in any of these times to say different times in Portuguese, for anything past the hour, you use the word E, which means end. And anything to the hour, you use butter, which in this instance can be used to mean before. 68. 15j - 1 o'clock: 01:00. There's one more thing to add when telling the time in Portuguese, the words ash or sound change when you're talking about anytime involving 01:00, e.g. if you want to say it is 01:00, you say a luma order order. So you use sound when you're talking about any other time, but when it's to do with one or 01:00, you use a. My order is because one is singular, whereas all the other times are clusters plural. It is 01:15. It is 01:30. A Emalia a OMA email. If you want to say it's 12:45. Well, because you literally say it is 15 before one. You say some gains, para Alma, some gains, a panorama. So we say sound because the word that follows it kinda is plural. Some kids, it is close to one. If you want to say at 01:00, you say warmer order. Order at 01:30. Oma. Oma email at 01:15 at Oma. Oma. One final thing to point out is that the 24 hour clock is very commonly used in Portugal and Brazil. So you can use that instead of using the words ammonia or that data, et cetera, age categories, DoorDash. Doordash means it's at 02:00. Literally, it's at 14:00. Now, I also just wanted to quickly point out the reason for these ash and differences that you might have spotted. The word is used to mean. However, the word ash AS means the, if you want to tell somebody what times something is at, you literally say it is at the 05:00. The plus the ash joined together to form ash with an accent on the a. Plus ash makes ash with an accent on the a. It's the same if you want to use the singular. So if you want to say at 01:00, you literally say it's at 01:00. And the meaning at plus the meaning, the join together to form a with an accent. And so that's where they come from. Ap plus ash makes ash with an accent on the a. And F plus R makes a with an accent on the a. E.g. Walmart order. Order means at 01:00. I should do as orange as do I show what Asch means at 02:00. 69. 15k - recap: So this lesson has been all about telling the time in Portuguese. We've had ash or ash, ash, wood ash, which means at a clock. And you can put any number in between ash and orange. Ash. Emalia. Ash, emia means at half-past. Literally it means at the number and the half. Then you can put them on yeah. That one yeah. After anytime to say am because literally it means in the morning or that allergy. You can put on the end of any time to mean PM or in the afternoon. So anytime from 12:00 P.M. until 06:00 P.M. the annoyed or WHE can be used to mean PM or in the evening on anytime from 07:00 P.M. until midnight. Damage to gather them I drew gaba is a way that we don't have in English. It means early in the morning. So you could use it to mean am in-between the times of 01:00 A.M. and 05:00 A.M. then we had Ashe Ashe, EKG and that means at quarter past powder ash or a Kinsey plus. This means at quarter two. If you want to ask somebody what time it is right now, you can say garage. Garage sound, which means what time is it? Then if you want to tell somebody what time it is right now, you use the word its sound. And then you can put anytime after that sound. Or ash would mean it is something o'clock. When you want to say at 01:00, you say mama water at all my order. And it is 01:00 eight meltwater, a human odor. 70. 15l - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese at half-past to do as a mayor? I should do as the mayor. It's at 09:15. As no vaccines, AS no vacancy. Or in Brazilian Portuguese AS Navi Kinsey AS novae Kinsey. It's at 07:45. Alkenes or alkynes. But as a way to, or in Brazilian Portuguese, Kinsey plus O2, a UK easy way to. It's 04:30. Some quietly media sound quietly, mayor. It's 02:45. Some kids parish thresh, some gains, the parish trash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, some Kinsey press trace. Some Kinsey press Trace. It's at half-past four. H bar omega squared through Emalia. It's 12:00 AS do as a wash. As do another wash. It's at 02:00. Those waters AS dorsal wash. It's at 12:00. Sound dash, dash, dash, dash, dash, dash. I would like a taxi at 03:00. Get one taxi as stress or ash and taxi ashtrays awash. In Brazilian Portuguese, you will say get on taxi as Thrasybulus. Get on taxi as Thrasybulus. I would like a taxi for two people. Get own taxi. I do wish Pessoa get a taxi paradigm, which Pessoa? In Brazilian Portuguese, get on taxi produces PESTLE as get one taxi produces pesto us. 79. 16b - o endereço: If you book a taxi, you will probably need to give them this. When there is Sue who ended as soon. It means the address when there is soon. So how would you say in Portuguese the address is three rural Rosa. When there is a who a hose or trash, when there is a thresh. So in Portuguese, and address usually has the number after the road name rather than before. So in English we say three, row or Rosa. But in Portuguese, you say rural Rosa, three, who are holes that fresh? How would you say the address is 15? Traverse a pin two. And the word Cabeza in Portuguese means ln. When the restroom a traverse up into Keyczar when the rescue it recipe into Kinsey. Here's a useful question phrase and Portuguese. While a, while a, it means what is all literally, which is a. So how would you say what is the address? Quality when there is quality winter. So now here's a little word that we've come across before. The or in Brazilian Portuguese, G. G. It means of this word brings us onto another topic, the apostrophe S, aka the Saxon genitive. Sacks. And genitive is just the fancy way of saying apostrophe S. And in Portuguese, the apostrophe S doesn't exist. So instead they use the word the, which means e.g. if you wanted to say Paulos address in Portuguese, you would have to say the address of Paolo when the rest of the panel or when the rest. So similarly, if you wanted to say Maria as a dress, you would say the address of Maria. When the rest of the Maria or when the rest. So g Maria. There is one thing to remember with the word in Portuguese. If it is placed next to the word, they joined forces and become due. So plus makes do. And it means. So if you want to say the restaurants address, literally will say the address of the restaurant, which is in the race. Do I start? And when the rest who do hashed out and, or in Brazilian Portuguese, when they're asked to do historian Ci. So it's the address of the restaurant and other is due. It's a combination of plus. If you want to say the hotel's address, literally you say the address of the hotel, which is in the wrestle do of tell when the rest of them. 80. 16c - do & da: We've just seen that when you put the words together, they make do. And it means the same thing happens when you put in front of the feminine word for the witches. They joined together to become the or down in Brazilian Portuguese. So how would you say, what is the restaurants or dress? Quali, when do I start and quality when the rest of the restaurant. What is Maria's address? Quality when The rest would do Maria quali, when the rest who do Maria? Paulos chicken is delicious. Frank would easily see Awesome. Well, Frank would literally have to say the chicken of Paolo or fangled, the bowel, or in Brazilian, Portuguese or Franco G pow loop. How would you say the hotel's address? When the rescue do Hotel? When the rest of the hotel. So in this lesson, we've had in taxi, which means a taxi. When they're SO means the address. Quality means what is the 0 g means of du and the both mean of the, so do is the masculine word for it's a combination of the word do. And then there is the feminine word for offer. If you want to say Paulos address, you have to literally say the address of Paolo when the rest Powell or when the rescue G pow loop. So the Saxon genitive or the apostrophe S doesn't exist in Portuguese. So you have to switch the phrase around and you say the address of Paolo. The same thing is true. If you want to say the hotel's address, you say When the rest to do Hotel, which literally means the address of the hotel or the restaurants address. When there is a restaurant or when the restroom do historian she literally it means the address of the restaurant. 81. 16d - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning in this lesson. Or ketal ear, por favor. What time can I go? I got what I supposed to ear to ear. The verb, ear tends to go hand in hand with the little word. Here, means to go to. So how would you say, I would like to go to Lisbon? Ear, Alice Bonner ear, Alice bar. I would like to go to for shell, ear, shell, carol ear, a full shell. Can I go to Porto? Possible ear to ear to ear are means to go to. 90. 17b - of the / from the: We learned in the last lesson that dU plus makes du. And we said that do means offer. Well the word can mean of all from. So do can actually mean of the ore from there. So how would you say in Portuguese, it's from the restaurant. A restaurant. A restaurant or a do historian CI Hey, do Hester Angie. How would you say it's from Paolo? A double. A double or AG Bell. Ag Bell. That is from Lisbon, is through a delish bar, is through a delish bulla. Or a deliverable is through a delete Buddha. So now agentless, bar, AG, poor to more Portuguese contractions. When we learned the verb ear, I said that it tends to go with the little word. To mean, to go to. The word can actually mean to or at in Portuguese. And there are a couple of contractions that happen with this word. Plus makes our owl. And then plus R makes with an accent. And we've seen this one when we were doing the time in Portuguese. So OWL and both mean to the app. So how would you say at the restaurant are hashed out and our hashed out and or our histology histology. At the hotel. How are our hotel? Possible ear a prior. Pause to ear a prior. So because to go to is ear and the Beach is a prior, the and the are joined together to make a with an accent postal ear at a prior, possible ear, a prior. So the accent doesn't change the pronunciation. It just shows you that it means to them. How would you say, I would like to go to the beach at 10:00? Ear a prior ash this brush, carol ear. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Carol era prior as desolate, as good, as dead. Whereas in this sentence we have two a's with accents. So the first a is the same as the last sentence when we add Carol, ear or prior, that becomes your app prior. And then the second one is ash. That's made up of ash, means at 10:00. There's Buddha becomes ash desert brush. In this lesson so far, we've had ear, which means to go. Here. Means to go to do and that we've learned can mean of the or from the aisle.
