1. Introduction to the course: Hello and welcome to three-minute Portuguese
course three. This course is a follow-up to three-minute
Portuguese cos two. And it uses all of the words and phrases that we learned
in that course. So if you haven't been
through Course two, you should do that before
starting this one. As always, this course covers both European Portuguese
and Brazilian Portuguese. And I explained the differences in vocabulary and pronunciation throughout this course is based on the method I developed
for teaching languages, which I use in all my
classes and courses. The method will get you
speaking Portuguese quickly without the struggle normally associated
with language learning. Just like with the last course, remember that 3 min is the
key to effective learning. I've kept the lessons in short three-minute chunks so that you can learn
at your own pace. Keep your study sessions
short to avoid boredom. And that way you'll
maintain your motivation. You'll be more consistent
in your learning, so it'll become a habit. And you'll also find
that you memorize words much more easily
and effectively. So stick to short
bursts of study rather than long drawn-out sessions. I hope you enjoy this course
in town, Varmus commissar. So let's begin.
2. 19a - tomar: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learnt in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese
with a card? Down? By card? One card down. Literally it means width card. How would you say a balcony? Miranda doesn't work. Now, once the owner a room to a television, mortality zone. Now here's your first
word for this lesson. It's a verb, Tamar. Tamar. It means either to
take or to have Tamar. Now, in English, we
tend to use the verb have when we're ordering
food and drink. E.g. I'll have a Coke. Can I have a sandwich? I'd like to have a T. However, in Portuguese, you use the verb, which means to take. If you imagine it as you're
intaking the food or drink. So rather than saying,
can I have a sandwich, you're saying can I
intake a sandwich? So you use the verb Tamar. Tamar literally means to take, but you can also use
it to mean to have. If you're talking about
ordering food and drink, e.g. ghetto tomorrow. Tomorrow. It means I would like to have a T. But literally
what it means is I would like to take a tea kettle tomorrow or Basu tomorrow. Tomorrow. Can I
have the chicken? Literally it means can
I take the chicken, meaning can I intake it to eat? But in English we say,
can I have the chicken, possible Tamar, who frankly. So how would you say
Can I have the pizza? Tomato pizza tomorrow? A pizza or in
Brazilian Portuguese? Bought a pizza. Possible Tamara pizza. I would like to have a coffee Tomorrow, caffeine. Caffeine. So literally it means I
would like to take a coffee.
3. 19b - some or any: How would you say in Portuguese, can I have a coffee tomorrow? And cafe, possible tomar cafe. Now, if you want to say
some in Portuguese, as in, I would like some wine. Or can I try some cheese? Or if you want to say any, As in, do you have any cheese? It's really quite simple. Just saying nothing. You don't have to say sum
or any in Portuguese. Just say the noun by itself. E.g. if you want to say, I would like some cheese, you just say ketoconazole. Ketoconazole, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, get occasional Occasion. So you're literally saying, I would like cheese or
May I try some wine? Would just be possible.
Provide a venue. Possible providing
you literally, can I try wine? Or I would like some coffee. You would just say I
would like coffee. Cafe, K2 Cafe. So how would you say
May I have some coffee? Postal tomar cafe? Postal tomar cafe. I would like some pizza. Pizza, ghetto Piazza
or ghetto pizza. Ghetto pizza. Can I
have some carrots? Tamara, crash, both
pseudo maps and crash. The verb Tamar literally
means to take, but you can use it to mean have when you're talking
about food and drinks. But the actual word for
have in Portuguese is tail. There. It means have to have dare. You can use dare to mean to have if you're not referring
to food and drink. So how would you say Can I
have a room for tonight? Possible. They're
annoyed. Puzzle tear, enquire to perished, annoyed. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Possible. To Preston
all HE possible. There are two. He can I have a room
with a balcony. Enquire to con Miranda. Miranda.
4. 19c - uma noite: How would you say in Portuguese?
Can I have some chicken? Please? Pause for dramatic triangle slash level. Possible automatic
Frank Cooper fiber. So when you say have and you're referring to having
something to eat, then you would use the Tamar. Tamar literally means to take. But when you're using it to
talk about food and drink, it means to have. And there is the actual
verb for to have. Now here's another time phrase. In Portuguese, humanoid. Humanoid. It means
one night humanoid. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, woman, no, HE luminosity. How would you say, Can I
have a room for one night? Puzzled their boss
or their own quiet? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, possible to put them annuity, puzzle their own car
to poor man, witchy. How much is it for one night? Quanto co-star, put them
annoyed. Quantile course. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, glucose that pulmonology, one
to call stop pulmonology. It's for one night, please. A ballroom annoyed, especially for April 1 with
dispatch by board. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a poor woman or a cheaper fiber, a Boolean or a cheaper fiber. So all monoid is one night. While you can probably guess
what this next phrase means. Do astronauts do wash noise. It means two nights. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it. Do us no cheese. Do us no cheese. So how would you say, Can I
have a room for two nights? Apostle dare to
question whitish, pursue their own car
to produce noise. Or puzzle term choir to
Purdue as notches possible. Enquire two-port do as noises.
5. 19d - sem: How would you say in Portuguese, how much is it for two nights? Quantile. Quantile pushed
upward rational actors, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, quanto costa, do as notches, Quantico
step or do as nurses. I would like a room for two
people for tonight's please. Part of Jewish pistol slash slash level order to produce speech pathology
for Jewish noise level. We have two words for, for in this sentence. The first one is para,
do watch Pessoa. That's the first word
that we learned for fall. But the second one
is poor because it's used in front of a length
of time for tonight. So don't forget when you're
talking about length of time. The word for, for is poor. And in Brazilian Portuguese
you would say ghetto, enquire to Purdue as possible as Paul do as noises, por favor. In quadrant two, paddle
do as PESTEL as portal. Do us know which is portable? Now we've learned the word comb, which means width, gone. Well, the opposite
of cosine is sine. Sine or in Brazilian
Portuguese, same. It means without sign or same. So it's spelled S, E, M. And the m on the end is that nasal sound
we've had before. Sign or same in Brazilian
Portuguese, It means without. So how would you say,
Can I have a pizza, but without the cheese? Postal tomorrow? My
pizza mash sign post on Piazza mash sign. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, possible tomorrow on my
pizza mash, same occasional. Both automatic. Oma pizza mash. Same occasion. May I have
to coffee's without sugar? Bush cafes sign as hookah possible to model Deutsch
cafes sign a soccer. In Brazilian Portuguese, possible tomato is cafes
saying a suit car, bus automatic do is
cafes saying as Sugata.
6. 19e - tem?: Here's a nice little
question word in Portuguese. Time. Time. It means, do you have time? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, it's pronounced more
like **** thing. So time or team. And the m on the end is
another of those nasal sounds. Time. Team. How would you say,
Do you have a table for four people dying? Oh my gosh. Time Mummy is a
part of quadruples, the wash. Or in
Brazilian Portuguese, they are quadrupeds,
psoas major. You have a room
with a television. Time in quite some time
to calm my television. Or in quadrant two, metabolism. Do you have any wine? Time venue, venue or in
Brazilian Portuguese? Then venue. Venue. Here's your next word in
Portuguese. Own mapper. Mapper. It means a map. In mapper. And it's another word
that ends in an a, but it's actually
a masculine noun. So it's mapper. How would you say, Do you
have a map of Pharaoh? Time, remap other fowl, time, the foul or mapper,
GFR, Maputo Fido. I would like a map of Lisbon. Mapper delish bore, ghetto,
mapper, delish Boa, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, ghetto, map Agile is poor. Ghetto. Jellies bar. Can I have a map? So in this lesson so
far we've had Tamar, which literally means to take. But if you use it
with food and drink, it means to have dad means to
have humanoid or humanoid. Ci means one night. Do actually noise or do us no, just means tonight's sign
or same means without time. And then mean do you have? And mapper means a map.
7. 19f - a cidade: This next word goes
nicely with Mapper. As the dad. Dad. It means the town or
the city as ciudad, or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it
more as ciudad G as the DAG G. So how would
you say in Portuguese? I would like to go to town. And literally you
would have to say, I would like to go to the town. Good. We're asked me Dad, get weird as the dyad or good, we're good, we're acidity. So we have an accent
on the a because it means to the sentence, literally it's good
to hear or see data to the and that becomes
app with an accent. How would you say, Do you
have a map of the city? Mapper, the time mapper does seeded or in Brazilian
Portuguese, mapper, that Cdg. They map other Cdg. The town here is very beautiful. As the data key to Linda, as the data key in more to
Linda or ASD that yucky, a multiple Linda as
the daddy Jackie. A mall to Linda is another word that goes nicely with
mapper crashing down. It means the region. So how would you
say I would like to go to the region of Madeira, get weird allergy,
damaged Aida, get weird. Zhao, that my data or in
Brazilian Portuguese get weird. Xiao, the Medina get
weird Zhao diamond data. Do you have a map of the region? Time dilation, time map, Adagio or thin Zhao Ziyang. The region here is
very beautiful. Wacky way to Linda. Has yeah, wacky to Linda.
8. 19g - "ei" sound: In this lesson, we've
had the verb Dhamma, which literally means to take, and you can use it to mean to take in any sense of the word. But you can also use
it to mean to have, if you're referring to
having food and drink, It's almost like you're
saying you're intaking it. So can I have a t Can I have a t to intake, meeting to drink? Then we had the verb, which means to have. So if you wanted to say, can I have a coffee, you would use Tamar. But if you want to say
can I have a room, then you would use
dare tear means to have in every
sense of the verb, except for when you're talking about having food and drink. Then we had humanoid
or humanoid G, which means one night. Fish. Or do us no edges
means tonight's sign. And the same means without. So when you have an E M on the end of a
word in Portuguese, it's pronounced in
European Portuguese, and aim in Brazilian Portuguese. Sine same. And the same is true
with the verb time. So time means, do you have, in Brazilian Portuguese, you
would say thin di, thing. This is whenever you have E M on the end of a
word in Portuguese, you pronounce it I in
European Portuguese, and aim in Brazilian Portuguese, just like when we
learned the verb also, we had done B9 and domain. Then we had mapper. Mapper, which means a map. So we said it's another of those words that ends
in an a, but it isn't. A feminine noun is a
masculine noun, mapper. As the dyad means the
town or the city. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it as CDBG. Then IgM means the region. And I also just
wanted to point out because we had in
the last lesson, Madeira, which is pronounced
Madeira or my data. When you have an E i
together in Portuguese, in European Portuguese,
it's pronounced I, put in Brazilian Portuguese
it's pronounced a. So that's why we had Medina. Medina, or we've
also seen the word. But if I provide two, which means perfect or
in Brazilian Portuguese, but failed to provide fate. Or casual. Casual. Casual means cheese. So when you have an E,
it's pronounced I in European Portuguese and a
in Brazilian Portuguese. Medina. Medina provide to pervade
to Guiso patient.
9. 19h - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese? Do you have any bread? Time-bound? Time bound,
or unbound? They impound. Do you have any tomato sauce? Ketchup. Ketchup or
ten ketchup? Ketchup. I would like room for
one night, please. Carolyn Pullman,
waiters fresh level. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, get a cheaper fiber. Get a cheaper fiber. I would like a map of the city. Mapper. Does the dad, good mapper. That's the dad. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese ghetto, mapper does the dodgy. Getting one mapper,
that's the dodgy. You have a room with a
balcony for three nights. Enquire to calm over lambda
for threshing whitish. Time, inquire to veranda portraying whitish or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Then enquire to call him
over Lambda portrays niches. They enquire to
portray snow inches. I would like the chicken, but without the unions, Please. Marsh sign. I should abolish
slash vibe order. Ghetto Frank. Much sign hashtag
abolish special level. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, ghetto. My saying I sub L as por
favor ghetto Franco, my saying as the
ball as por favor. Do you have any milk? Shine light. Shine light. Or in Brazilian Portuguese? Late she may I have the pizza tomorrow? A Piazza. Post to Tamara Piazza. May I have some blueberries? Possible. Tomar, t lose both
automatic milky loose. Can I have a map of
the region of a room? Both for their map adagio, the possible there on map Adagio or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Apostle dare mapper that Zhao Ji available possible tell DMA.
10. 19i - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? K2, k2, k2, x2. I would like some
cheese bustle tomorrow. Wash bottle tomorrow. Oh gosh. Can I have some grapes
parcel tomorrow? Tomorrow? Can I have a t time massage? Time massage. Do you have an apple's? Time? Mummy is a part
of Jewish Pessoa. Time. Miami is I
gotta do wash, wash. Do you have a table
for two people? Keto acid, other ammonia. Here I see data ammonia. I would like to go to town
tomorrow buying coffee. Cafe. Do you have any coffee? Jewish mapper slash web or ghetto deutschmark
patch specify border. I would like to maps, please. Dying, a sukha. Dying or sukha. Do you have any sugar? Ghetto ear, the
viral ghetto ear? Zhao. I would like to go to the region of a room.
11. 19j - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to practice words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in
Portuguese, it's delicious. Delicious. At Amelia's house. Accounts or do Aemilia, gaza dry media, or in Brazilian Portuguese
at Gaza G Emilia. Emilia. What time can I
go to the supermarket? I could pursue ear,
our soup Mercado. Possible here. Our soup Mercado. It isn't good. Now. Now a bone. It's at 07:00. A HashSet or ash. A HashSet or ash, or in Brazilian Portuguese, AS set G or S. Ashp or as. My food is delicious. Emilia comida Italy. Emilia comida, Italy. See OSA. The lunch here is delicious. I'm also a key a while. Most of our key, I think
everybody is very nice. But I mean total mano, a mano to sympatric. But I mean total Mondo, a maltose empathic whom? The car is 20 h per day. Google Gustave into
a euros per dia. Foucault who pushed the
event a euros per year.
12. 19k - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Now I might do wacky. Now I moved to monarchy. It isn't very good here. Absolutely fantastic, wacky, absolute amount,
fantastic wacky. It's absolutely fantastic here. We're ashtrays or ash
ash trees or hash. I would like to go out 03:00. A alkenes or alkynes, the parasol means it's at 10:45. Ghetto, fuzzier. And fuzzier. I would like to
make a reservation. Male, Frank Wu, a provide to
all male for angle a provide to my chicken is perfect. Sound Desi dish,
sound Desi dish. It's ten plus ten. Male share a absolute amount. They'll reveal who may
share a absolute amount. They'll reveal my t is absolutely terrible. Quantile. Quantile
push down quark. How much is a room? Accounts at the
maria are Gaza do Maria at Maria's house? Now, obviously in speaking, you can't hear whether
they are at the start of this phrase is an
art just by itself, meaning the or an
app with an accent, which means at the
Casa de Maria, could mean at Maria's house. If there's an accent on the a, but if there isn't an accent, it just means Maria's house, or literally the house
of Maria accounts. And De Maria is only in writing that you can see
the difference clearly.
13. 20a - onde: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learnt in the last lesson. How do you say in
Portuguese a map, mapper? To have tear. You have time or theme. Night. Hominoid,
hominoid Ci two nights. Do echinoids or do as no edges without sign or same. The town or the city as the dad. Or I see that g, to take the region has Yan. Now here's a useful question
word in Portuguese, owned. Owned. It means where owned. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it OMG. Omg. How would you
say Where can I pay? On the Postal bugger? On the possible bugger? Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
orangey possible beggar. Orangey possible by God. Where can I make a reservation? On the possible fuzzier
and fuzzier reservoir, or in Brazilian Portuguese, only possible for
their Omaha server on G parcel fuzzier
Omaha server. Where can I pay the bill? On the possible Bogata quanta? On the possible Bogata quanta, or in Brazilian Portuguese, orangey possible by God icon on the Postal Bogata content.
14. 20b - é / fica / está: Now there are two words that you can put onto
the end of owned. You can say either on the FECA or on the HDR, on the FECA, on dash star, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, orangey FECA on GSR, on the FECA, or on GIS data. Now they both mean where is
the words FECA and estar? Mean is? However, I told you in the
very first lesson that the word for it is
in Portuguese is a. Well actually in Portuguese, there are three words for it is, you can say a FECA
or esta, a FECA. The word a is used
most of the time, but the words esta
and FECA are used, but they are a little more
specific in their usage. We've learned things like, it's good, is a bone. It's fantastic. A fantastic. It isn't for me
now, a part of me. But when do you use
a star and thicker? Well, the words esta and FECA can both mean it is or just is. They are used when
you're talking about the location of something. E.g. whenever you want to
say that something is here, you would use either
esta or FECA for is. But which one is, which? Well, estar means is or it is when you're talking about the temporary location
of something. However, if you're talking about a permanent location of
something, you use FECA. If you think about
the word FECA, looking a little
like the word fixed, you can remember it more easily. You use FECA when it's
the fixed location. You use a star when it's
a temporary location. Have a look at
these two examples. On the FECA washed out and
on the FECA or hashed out. And it means where
is the restaurant? And the restaurant has
a permanent location. It can't just move
around, so it's fixed. So you say, where is
the restaurant fixed? On the FECA washed out and or in Brazilian Portuguese on
the FECA, histology, on the FECA history and
g. But then if we look at this example on the
style may occur down on the male guards down. This means where is my card? So it's a temporary location
because something like a card can easily move
around so it's not fixed. So where is my card on
their own mail card, town or in Brazilian Portuguese? On G S star, male cat down, on G, star, male curve down. So when it's a
permanent location, you use FECA when it's
a temporary location. So when something can
easily move around, you use a star. A restaurant is fixed because you can't
easily move it around. So we say where is
using on the FECA? And a card is only a temporary
location because it can be moved around
easily on the data.
15. 20c - it is (permanent vs temporary): Let's look at some example
sentences using the word FECA. On the FECA, hotel. On the FECA. Where is the hotel? Or in Brazilian Portuguese? On G FECA hotel. On the FECA, hotel. On the FECA causes the
power on the FECA, a gas the Pala. Where is Paula's house? In Brazilian Portuguese? Only FECA a gas and
you Paola on the FECA, a casa de Paula. On the thicker acquire too, on the fickle quality. Whereas the room or orangey
FECA on G FECA requires two. On the FECA, laws. On the FECA, a larger. Where is the shop? Or in Brazilian Portuguese? On G FECA, algia. On G FECA alopecia. So you can see that
with these e.g. sentences, all the places must
have permanent locations. A hotel, Paula's house, the room, and the shop. None of these are things
that can move around. Now let's have a look at e.g. sentences with a star
on the star or comida. On the star, or comida. Where is the food? Or on JSTOR or comida? On G star or comida on
the step out on there. Where is Paolo? Or on estoppel? On GST? On their stuff? Paola
on their staff. Paola, where is polar
or RGS step ala. Ala on their staff, who ball on their
staff, who bowl. Whereas the cake, or in
Brazilian Portuguese on GIS that will ball
on JSTOR or bowl. So you can see that with
these four sentences, all the objects are things
that can move around. Food. Paolo, polar and a cake are all things that
can move around. So they have
temporary locations. So esta or SDA means it is when you're talking about
a temporary location. And FECA means it is when you're talking
about a permanent location. So when something is fixed. So how would you
say it isn't here? Now I stat key or Nephi khaki. Now a stocky, now FECA key. So it depends on whether it's a temporary location or
a permanent location. How would you say
the hotel is here? Del v GKE will tell V GKE.
16. 20d - são / ficam / estão: How would you say in Portuguese? Where is the hotel? On the hotel. On the FECA, ortho or orangey FECA hotel. On the FECA hotel. Where is the restaurant? On the FECA or hashed out? On the FECA or hashtag around. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Orangey FECA who has died and she on the FECA who
has power and g. Where is polar? On this step, our own dashed Apala or RGS that Paola on gs, that bottler we've had on
the FECA and on the star, which we said mean where is. Well, in the plural, you get these phrases instead. On the feet count
and own niche down. On the feet, come on this town. They both mean where are on
the fee count on the stone, or in Brazilian Portuguese? On Giphy, count on GSM, orangey feet come on, G, S down. So just like there
were three ways to say, is in Portuguese, there are also
three ways to say, Are we have sound, which we've already learned? Feet count and edge down, some fee count and H down. The word sound is the one that
you use most of the time. E.g. some bones, sound bones. They are good. Some fantastic wash,
some fantastic course. They are fantastic. Now some part of me, now some part of me. They aren't for me.
The word edge down is used when you're
talking about the temporary location
of something. And it means R or S down. The word count. Feet down means are when
you're talking about the permanent location
of something, e.g. if you want to say,
my chickens are here. Well, because chickens
can move around, their location is only ever
going to be temporary. So you would say males
Frankish is now a key. Males Franco's stomach Qi, my chickens are here. But if you want to say
the restaurants are here, well, restaurants
can't move around, their location is permanent. So you would say
feet count a key. Feet count or key. The restaurants are here. So down means are when you're talking about
a temporary location. Feet down means are when you're talking about a
permanent location.
17. 20e - they are (permanent vs temporary): So we've just
learned that you use the word edge down to mean are when you're talking about
the temporary location of something and you
use feet count. I mean, when you're talking about the permanent
location of something. So if you wanted to say, where are Maria and Paolo, you would say own dash down
Maria on their style, Maria. So that's because it's
a temporary location since Maria and Paolo
can move around. Whereas if you wanted to
say where are the hotels, you would say on the
feet down with rotation, on the fecal flotation. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, orangey feet count
whose or tastes. So that's because hotels are permanent structures
that can't move around. So they have their
location, fixed fee can. Let's have a look at
some example sentences using the word feet down. On the feet can
touch on the feet. Can we trust our antigen means
where are the restaurants? Or in Brazilian
Portuguese on feet count, histogram, cheese
on defeat count, whose history branches. If you wanted to ask,
where are the houses? You would say on the
feet can gather. On the feet count as cash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, on the feet count as gases. Where are the rooms
would be on the feet can touch on the feet
count which quadrotors. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, orangey feet count
squared plus z squared. Where are the shops? On the feet count as largish. On the feet count as large, or as large as restaurants, houses, rooms, and shops are all things that have
permanent locations. So we use it to mean R. Let's have a look at
some example sentences with edge down. If you want to say
where are the chickens, chickens can move around. So you would say
on the Frankish, the Frankish or in
Brazilian Portuguese, on GIS down, triangles, on GIS town whose Frankel's. Where are my cards? On the edge down.
Males, character orange on the males, cartoonish. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese on GS town. Whose males cartoons. Where are the people
on this down? A specific flesh
on the edge down, a specific flash or
NGS down aspergillus. Or where are the
cakes on this town? Which balls on the stone bowls? Or in Brazilian
Portuguese on GS down with balls on GS town was both. Chickens, cards, people, and cakes are all things
that can move around. So we use S down for R when talking about
their temporary location.
18. 20f - "are": We've just seen that edge down. Means are when talking
about a temporary location. And feet count means are when talking about
a permanent location. So how would you
ask in Portuguese, where are the carrots on this tongue? Brush on this tile
edge to know rash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, or NGS down as synovitis
on the stone as sonatas. Where are the people? On this town? Ash. On
the stone, ash Pessoa, or RGS down as precise as possible as
where are the tables? On the stand as message? Understand ash message or Anja stone as Mesos on
Jay sta estimates us. Where are the restaurants? On the feet can
touch on the feet can restaurant or
orangey feet count star. And she's on account
whose history branches. Where our polar and
Paolo on the palette, on their star power
light bulb or Anja stone pow, pow, pow, pow. Where are the hotels? On the feet count with rotation. On the feet count
whose rotation, or in Brazilian
Portuguese on the FECA, tastes on difficult,
whose or tastes. So in this lesson so far
we've had owned or orangey, which means where the star. Star means where is or where is it when you're talking about a temporary location? On the FECA or orangey FECA means where
is or where is it. When you're talking about
a permanent location? H star and FECA both
mean is or it is. H star is used when
you're talking about a temporary location. And FECA is used when you're talking about
a permanent location. On this town. Or RGS down means where are when you're talking
about a temporary location? On the feet down or on account means where are when you're referring to
a permanent location? Down and feet down, both mean are or they are. H town is used when you're talking about
a temporary location. And fecal is used when you're talking about
a permanent location. And in Brazilian Portuguese, edge down is pronounced S down.
19. 20g - aqui & ali: We've already learned that
the word for here is a key. Well, here's the opposite. Ollie. Ollie. It
means their alley. So how would you say
it's their alley? Or FECA Ali or in Brazilian
Portuguese star or FECA Ali. How would you say
it isn't there? Now I wish tally or Nephi galley or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Now is that allele? Now FECA, Ali, Paolo, and Paula on their powerful Ebola. Now Ashton Paolo
Ebola now externally, how would you say the
restaurant isn't there? Well, hashed out and now FECA, now FECA allele or in Brazilian Portuguese or
histone rhonchi Nephi Kelly, who histology now FECA allele. Now that you know how to speak about some things location, you can say things like this. The restaurant is here, washed out and FECA AKI or hashed out onto fee
khaki or in Brazilian, Portuguese or histology 50k key. We hit Start Angelica AKI. Everything is here to a Starkey total fee khaki
or in Brazilian Portuguese, todo Esta key to FECA key. It isn't here. Now I stocky. Now the khaki or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Now a stocky. Now FECA key. The food is here. A comida, a Starkey. Starkey in Brazilian Portuguese. Comida is the archae
are comida, Starkey.
20. 20h - vá para: Now, here's a useful
phrase that you can use when giving directions. Vat, vat butter. It means go or Goto, only when you're
giving directions. So when you're telling

turn, Vera or VD? The first road. Everybody might have or
are pre-made or whoever. The second road, a
single Nehiyawak. The third road. At that assign a hula or
attach state of Iowa. Then the bush or the boys on the left
are scared of them. Or at a scatter plot. On the right. I did write them or agitate. Take dumb directions. In the last lesson, we learned
quite a few direction, whereas I'm going to give you one more lesson full
of direction words. Directions are rather
important for tourists anyway, but for linguists, there
are even more important. They're usually the
easiest way for you to get speaking Portuguese as soon
as you arrive in Portugal. When I first started
going to Portugal, after having begun
my Portuguese lesson as many moons ago, my mom made me ask where
everything was all the time. If I wanted to go to the toilet, I had to ask where it was. If I wanted to go to the shop, I had to ask somebody
where it was. No matter what. She always made me ask somebody
where things were because it was a good way of practicing
my language skills. In fact, most of the time I knew where the
toilet was anyway, but that made it more useful. I knew what the other
person was going to say before they even said it. All I was doing, listening to
them say it in Portuguese. So when you're in Portugal or Brazil or any other
Portuguese speaking country, always ask, ask, ask. Unless it's a medical emergency, don't be afraid of asking
directions in Portuguese. Even if you don't quite get the gist of what's being said, you can always just ask somebody else a bit
further down the road. Keep asking more and more people until you start to work
out what's being said. It's a good way of tuning
your ear into the language. One more thing you
can do to practice your direction vocabulary is put your SAT enough
into Portuguese. Have a look to see if you can change the instruction is to Portuguese and then turn it on when you know
where you're going. If you already know the route, you will know what the
instruction is mean. So all you're doing is hearing them being said in Portuguese. And this is another great way of tuning your ear
into the language.
43. 22b - the roundabout: Here's something that
you'll come across on the road, or Honda. Honda. It means the roundabout. And there's actually a
separate word for round about in Brazilian Portuguese
are hot that Doria, I hoped that Austria in
European Portuguese. And I heard that Doria
in Brazilian Portuguese. And they both mean
the roundabout. So how would you
say the roundabout? Is there? Thicker, thicker
alley or Doria FECA? Id I heard that toy Africa. Whereas the roundabout on the FECA about
Wanda on the FECA. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, orangey FECA. I heard that Doria,
orangey FECA auditorium. The roundabout is on the left. Feca, I should get out on the FECA ice skater or a hot
area FECA, I scared though. I hold that Doria thicker. I scared them.
Now, if you change the on a Honda and
I heard that Doria, then instead of saying
the roundabout, we can change it to
at the Roundabout. So all we do is put an accent on the a Honda and I heard
that Doria in speaking, you can't tell the
difference, but in writing you can
see the accent on the a and it means
at the Roundabout, a Honda and I heard that Doria. So how would you say at
the Roundabout turn left. Linda Viera ash get
into Viera, Irish, Canada, or in
Brazilian Portuguese are hot that Doria,
vD, I scared. I heard that Doria very scared. At the Roundabout turn, right? I had done that veto. Veto or derived or
Doria VD ID data. I heard that Doria VD agitator.
44. 22c - a saída: How would you say in Portuguese? Palo is at the Roundabout. Polish that I heard on the Powell ish that
are hot on that. Or is that a hoarder, Toya Powell Lewis that
I hold that Doria. Now we had the
word for the road, which was our hallway. Well, here's another
useful word. As the EDA. As I either it
means the exit at, say either. Just like we did with our hover, we can add the words
first, second, and third in front of aida
to say the first exit, the second exit in
the third exit. Remind us aida, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, are pre-made as aida
means the first exit. A segment that's aida. A second does a yoga, means the second exit. And Cyrus Aida,
or active status, I either means the third exit. So a pretty minor or
API made I say you that is the first exit wound. Does aida is the second exit? Sida or at their status, Aida means the third exit. So how would you say take the first exit at
the Roundabout? Dorm? A pretty Midas Aida are hot
on the Dharma up reminders. Aida, who in
Brazilian Portuguese, dormi, a pre-made as
either a hotel Doria, dummy, abbreviate as Aida. I heard that earlier. How would you say take the second exit? Oh, my goodness, Aida. Dom, a second as aida. At the Roundabout,
take the third exit. Dome at their Cyrus Aida. Don't matter, Cyrus Aida, or in Brazilian Portuguese, or hold the Doria dummy
at their status or either I hold the Doria told
me at their status or EDA. In this lesson, we've had
a Honda or a hotel Doria, which means the roundabout. Honda. And I heard
that Doria with an accent on the a means
at the Roundabout. As aida means the exit. A bromide as aida,
the first exit, or in Brazilian Portuguese, are pre-made as
either as second. This aida is the second
exit at their side as aida or at their status
either means the third exit.
45. 22d - para: We've seen the word
butter before when we learned that it means
for, as in para mi. We also saw it when we learn
the phrase that butter, which meant go to batter, doesn't only mean for, it can also mean towards butter. When we learned that batter. And we said it means go to, literally it means go towards. So how would you say
go towards Pharaoh? That butter fat. Butter
fat on at the Roundabout, take the exit towards Lisbon. Thomas Aida, polish bar. Thomas Aida by Polish
Boa, or in Brazilian, Portuguese or hedonia dummy
as I either parallelize bar. Tommy as aida, but at least bar. Turn left towards LB failure. But elbow fire, Viera, I scared the per album IRA or in Brazilian Portuguese,
VDI scatter. But our alpha-beta, very scared. But I'll put feta. We've seen the word before, but if we add the word after it, we get the push, the bush. That means after the push. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it, the boys. The boys G. And don't forget
that we've already seen when you put the word or G in
front of a word for the, they join together
and you get do ODA. So how would you say turn
left after the roundabout? Via ash Carola. The push that hot on the ash gets pushed out on the or
in Brazilian Portuguese, vD, I scared the boys
that auto Doria. I scared the poised to hortatory or how would you say I would like to go to
the beach after lunch? We're a pariah, the push do
a Muslim getaway at a prior, they do a muscle. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, again, we're applying, the poets
do almost to get weird. Upaya, the boys do and Massu.
46. 22e - antes de: How would you say in Portuguese? Can I go after 06:00? Possible. We're the push that says
wash. Possible ear. The push that stays wash. So the bush do. The voice g means after, while the opposite is untouched. Antigen, which means before. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it and just G and G. So how would you say turn
left before the roundabout? Via the husband? V. Rash gets the
answers to how to under or in Brazilian
Portuguese. Very scared. And she started Doria. Vd. I scared. Anxious. The Doria. How would you say Turn right
before the restaurant? Vidra the right. The Honda. Honda or in Brazilian
Portuguese, VD agility. And she's Dakota
toya, VD agility. And she's Dakota Doria. I would like to go before 02:00. We're on to do as a rash. We'll do as a wash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Good, we're anxious, does, do as overt as good. We're anxious,
thus do as old as. We've now seen. How Tonga or
a hortatory or which mean the roundabout rotunda and Auditorium with an accent on the a means at the Roundabout. As aida means the exit. Every Midas Aida or
a pre-made as aida, means the first exit. Wound as aida is the second
exit at their side as aida or at their status are
either means the third exit. Batter can be used to mean
towards the boys or the boys. G means after and
understood, or anxious. G means before.
47. 22f - os semáforos: Now we'll make this our
final direction word, semi foolish or semaphores. It means the traffic
lights, same outflows. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it all CMF photos, all stem our photos. So how would you say at the
traffic lights turn left? How semaphores the
rash guard down. I wish them are photos, videos, I scared of them. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
are semaphores vD I scared. I will say my photos
EVD are scared them. So you can see that at the, when the word for that
is plural is ouch. Ouch. Or if it were feminine, it would be ash with an accent on the a. Bot traffic lights is
masculine and plural. So it's ouch. Ouch means at the
Ignacio mean to them. How would you say Turn right
before the traffic lights? Viera, a delight
to do semaphores. Veto, I derived
antigen do semaphores. So when it's joined
with the word for, and the word is plural, becomes ******, or in
Brazilian Portuguese. And she's doing very agile
eta and just do SEMMA follows vD agile eta
and just do semaphores. So when the word spelled D joins together with
the words for the, you get du and the in
the singular and plural, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, do that. Thus. How would you say turn
towards Lisbon after the traffic lights peril, each bore the push
to do semaphores. V, the parish bulla, the porch do semaphores, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
very parallelizable. The boys do some Afros. Vd paddle is bar, the boys do semaphores. So that was our final
lesson about directions. We had a Honda or a hortatory or which
mean the roundabout. If you put an accent on the a Honda and Toyota Doria
mean at the Roundabout. As aida means the exit. A pretty minor us
aida or a pre-made as aida means the first exit. A synchronous aida is the
second exit site as aida. Or at their status. Aida means the third exit. It means for, but
it can also mean towards the push or the points. D means after. Antigen or anxious
GI means before. And wash them off for Roche. Or semaphores means
the traffic lights.
48. 22g - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese, after the roundabout, take
the third Road on the left. The bush that Rotunda on the other side of who are
scattered around the bush, the rotunda other side
of where I scared. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, the boys, that whole Tattaglia told me that Saida who are scared them. The boys that hotel, Doria told me at the data,
who am I scared? The turn left at the Roundabout. V dash. Get that out on the ash, get the I hopped on the VD. I scared. I hope that
Doria VDI scatter. I heard that Doria Turn left
before the traffic lights. V rash get to the antigen. Do semaphores V rash. Understood. Stoma photos or in Brazilian Portuguese DVD I
scared and just do semaphores. Vdi, scared of them. And just do semaphores. After the roundabout. Take
the second row on the right. The bush that Honda, Thomas, Huo ad the writer, the push that Honda Tomasa
going to hover or the right. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, the boys, the hotel Doria, dummy
as secondary data. The boys that hortatory or domestic Linda who
are agitate them. The shop is on the right. A larger FECA, the
right, the larger FECA, the writer, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, are larger, thicker,
agitate them. A larger FECA Algeria data. At the Roundabout turn right. Vidra, the writer or director, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, Doria, VD. Vd Algeria data. After the restaurant
goes straight on and then take the
first Road on the left. The push to seek, I'm friend, ie the bush. Tom, a pretty minor who
were Irish, Canada. The boys do hashtag
around sick, I'm French. Ie, the push up reminder,
who're edge Canada? Or in Brazilian Portuguese? The boys to history, Orangi, Sega in Frenchie, ie, the domain omega is greater
than the boys to history. Orangi, Sega in
Frenchie, either boys, Tommy are pre-made
that who're I scared to go straight on and then take the first
Road on the left. C guy, friend. Tom happily might
have scatter them. Either push Tom, I provide
a who're I scared? Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Sega in Frenchie, ie, the poise, Tommy are primitive
who are scared and see I infringing either poise Tommy
epidemic that I scared. It's there towards the hotel physically. But our hotel, FECA
Ali but I worked they'll go straight on and then take the second
exit at the Roundabout. See you guys either
push Thomas second EDA, I hope to see you guys friend, ie the dome as soon
as aida, our tone. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. See, I'm fringy. Either push told me
a second as Aida, I heard that Doria
Sega in Frenchie ie the boys told me a second
as aida, our auditorium.
49. 22h - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Out on the dummy as aida, but Eilish bore out on the
Thomas Aida Polish bulla. At the Roundabout, take
the exit towards Lisbon. Untouched as tobramycin,
both to provide education and there's the sobre mesa postal
provider. Okay. Before dessert, can
I try the cheese? Sega and friend,
either Polish Bomber at their side or who are
at the right time frame. Either at their side of
where I derive them. Go straight on and then take
the third road on the right. The push that Honda bomber
at the site of Hawaii. Irish get into the
porch that hot on the other side of
who am I scared? After the roundabout, take
the third Road on the left. But I will tell FECA Ali, but I will tell it's there towards the hotel. Linda Viera, Irish, get
them out on the vena. I scared them. At the Roundabout. Turn left. Sega, I'm friend, ie, the push bone mass segment, this aida are hot on
the Sega and friend. Tom. Second as aida, a hot on the go straight on and then
take the second exit at the Roundabout dorm as aida, but Albert Vida Tomasa either. But I'll bullfighter.
Take the exit towards LB favor. Tom, other side of
who are the right, the dome, other side
of who are the right? Take the third
road on the right. Tomasa, either butter fat, dumb. As I take the exit
towards Pharaoh.
50. 22i - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases that we've learned
in previous lessons. How do you say in Portuguese? Yes, I think it's
fantastic here. C, But I mean a fantastic wacky. See, but I mean a
fantastic wacky. At Maria's house. I gathered De Maria
or a Kazaa G maria. Do you have any cheese? Thank Guiso, dying Guiso. In Brazilian Portuguese. They engage you. Then gave you, I would like a room
with a television. Metabolism. Metabolism is
always absolutely perfect. A simple absolute
amount per flight to a simple absolute limit. But phi two, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, assembly, absolute dementia per
fade to a sampling, absolute dementia per Fe two. How would you say
it's at Paulos house? Star are gathered the bowel. I wish that I
gathered the bowel. Or in Brazilian, Portuguese, star, a star, aka GP. That's the restaurant. A restaurant. A restaurant. Or in Brazilian Portuguese? A ways down to, is who? A restaurant. I would like to go
to Lucas house. Get a weird accounts or the luca get a weird
a casa de Luca. It's absolutely beautiful here. Absolute amount, the leaned,
wacky, absolute demand, the Linda key or in Brazilian Portuguese,
absolute dementia, Linda key, absolute
dimension Lind wacky. It's extraordinary. As drought scenario
a extraordinary, or in Brazilian Portuguese,
a stroud scenario. A is Strowger scenario.
51. 22j - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Quantile. Quantile, coach the percentage. How much is it for
six days? Possible. Ear our Gina as you pursue ear, our Gina as you can, I go to the gym. A mini pizza it per
fighter. A mini pizza. A per fighter. My pizza is perfect. Keto Iraqis, the parish stretch. Good. We're against the potash trash. I would like to go at 02:45. Possible ear to ear. Can I go to farrow? Uh, Brian FECA and friend, a prior FECA and friend. The beach is straight on. Seeing a fantastical scene. A fantastic Yes, it's fantastic. Male begin well
Massu, a fantastic, fantastical male beginning
while muscle, a fantastic. My breakfast is fantastic. Ghetto enquire to
verandas freshwater. Get to enquire to call my
verandas FASFA border. I would like a room
with a balcony. Please. Carry on taxi Ashcroft through five order. Good. One. Taxi Ashcroft through
rash trash level. I would like a taxi
at 04:00, please.
52. 23a - demais: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese
the traffic lights, semaphores, or semi photos. The exit. Is aida. The first exit. Remind us aida, or
a pre-made as aida. The second exit. A second as aida. The third exit. At that aside as
aida or say either before or anxious G, after the push or the boys, g towards banner. The roundabout. A husband or a hotter Doria. Here's a useful
word in Portuguese. The mesh. The mesh. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it G mice, mice. And it means too much
damage, or G mice. So how would you
say it's too much? A domain? A domain
or a G mice, mice. It's too much for me. A diminished but I mean
a damage parameter or a DMI spammy. Hdmi spammy. I think it's too much. But I mean a the mesh. But a the mesh. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, but AG mice. But I mean edgy mice. That is too much for me. Is through a damage parameter, is to a damage parameter
or is through HDMI spammy. Is Sue, HDMI spammy.
53. 23b - grande: The word damage or G mice means too much
as we've just seen, but it can also mean just two, as in too big or too small. So diminish or G mice. So let's learn the
adjective big. In Portuguese, grand, grand, or in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it
grungy, grand G, and it means big
ground or grungy. So how would you
say it's very big? A month, two grand
a month to ground, or in Brazilian Portuguese, a month to grungy, a mine too grungy. Now, when you want to
say that something is to some things that
are too big, e.g. you put the word the mice after the adjective rather
than in front of it. So if you want to say too big, you would have to say big tube
or literally big too much. So how would you
say it's too big? A ground, the mesh, a grand, the mesh, or in Brazilian Portuguese, a graph G, G mice,
a grungy mice. So literally you're
saying it's big, too much a ground, the mesh. How would you say I
think it's too big. But to me it granted the mesh. But it granted the mesh. Or a grungy mice, but amine, a grungy mice. It's too big for me. A grant the enemy, a grounded the match spammy. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, a grungy my spammy. A grungy demise spammy. So grand. Or grungy means big. Well the opposite
is begin. Again. It means small. Again. We had it when we let,
oop again while most, which means breakfast or
literally the small lunch. So how would you say in
Portuguese, it's very small. To begin. A more into beginner. It's too small for me. A big fan of the mesh
Bellamy a began on the mesh spammy or in
Brazilian Portuguese? A began on GMI spammy. A began on GMI spammy.
54. 23c - mais: How would you say in Portuguese? It's too small. A began with the mesh. A began the mesh, or a began on G mice. A began G mice. The restaurant is very small. One and even when to begin test out and he moved to begin in Brazilian Portuguese or
histology in mind to begin with a start
and a mind to begin. The car is very small. Cao Cao a month to begin. The table is very small. And be careful with this
one because the word for table is feminine. A Meza in mind to begin. A meso, to beginner. Began, becomes beginner, which is the feminine
version of small, because a meso,
meaning the table, is a feminine noun
in Portuguese. Now here's another useful
word in Portuguese, mesh. Mesh. It means more mesh and you pronounce it mice
in Brazilian Portuguese. How would you say
more beautiful? My gosh, lean, mice, Lean do. How would you say everything
is more beautiful here? To do a match, Linda wacky, to do a match Linda key, or to do a Muslim wacky
in Brazilian Portuguese. How would you say
more extraordinary? My is extraordinarily
Manchester or deny you becomes mice when it's placed in front of a word
that starts with a vowel. Even in Brazilian
Portuguese minus astrology. Now you might say
Strowger scenario.
55. 23d - maior / menor: How would you say in Portuguese, the food is more
delicious there. A comida, a match. Then the CEO, Sally, a comida image, delete Yoda Lee. Now these next two words
look very different to the words ground and pick NO. But they are related in meaning. My or. My old means bigger and men or men
or means smaller. Myo, mean or how would
you say in Portuguese? Everything here is bigger. To the wacky Emma, Your to the wacky MIR. Everything here is smaller. The wacky MNR to the wacky MNR. How did you say bigger? Meyer. Meyer. And how
did you say smaller? Men or men or now this next
word has a little meaning. It means a bit in bulk. So how would you say,
I would like a bit? Ghetto. Ghetto beaucoup. Remember that the little
word do or g means of? So how would you say I
would like a bit of cheese? Ghetto beaucoup the room. Ghetto, beaucoup the classroom. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
ghetto in beaucoup de Gabriel. Gabriel. I would like a bit more vocal mesh. And beaucoup mice. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
ghetto and beaucoup mice. Ghetto in beaucoup mice.
56. 23e - grande & pequeno: In this lesson so far, we've had the mesh or G mice, which means too much or too, as in too big or too small. Ground. Or grungy means big,
begin means small. And if you want to say too big, you say grounded the
mesh or grungy G mice, which literally
means big too much. It's the same with too small, you will say begin the mesh. Began the mesh or G mice. The word mesh or
mice means more. My your means bigger. Minor is smaller. And beaucoup means a bit. So we've had two
adjectives in this lesson. We've had grand or grungy, which means big, and
begin, which means small. Remember, I said many moons
ago that all adjectives have four different forms in Portuguese and masculine
singular and masculine plural, feminine singular
and feminine plural. Well, here are the
different forms for grand. So it goes grand, grand, grand, grand dish. So that's the masculine
singular, grand. And to make it plural, you just put an S on
the end grinders. And the feminine singular
is actually the same as the masculine singular because it's an adjective that ends in an E. So the feminine plural is the same as the
masculine plural and grand, grand,
grand grinders. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce them grungy
grind, just grungy grind. Just the four forms of big are actually just
two different forms. Then for small, because
began ends in an 0, we can change it like we
do with normal adjectives. So pick n is the masculine
singular of small. The masculine plural will just
add an S on the end again. To make it feminine singular, we changed the O2 and
a began or beginner. And to make it feminine plural, we add an S onto the end
of the feminine singular. Ganesh, or beginners. Began, began or beginner. Beginner. Or in
Brazilian Portuguese, began, began news. Beginner began AS. So that's the masculine
singular, masculine plural, feminine singular
and feminine plural version of the word small,
which is beginning.
57. 23f - putting an adjective after the noun: In Portuguese,
unlike in English, adjectives tend to go after
the noun it's describing. I say tend to go after
because there are a couple of exceptions that we'll talk
about in another lesson. But instead of saying
a big car, e.g. in Portuguese, you
say a car, big. A big car is grounded in cow
who grand cow who grungy? Cow who grungy. So literally it means a car big. A small car is in Tahoe. Begin. I hope again, literally
it means a car. Small. Let's have a look at some of the other
adjectives that we've learned so far and put
them with some nouns. Remember that if the noun
is feminine or plural, you should make the
adjective agree. A fantastic car is
in Tahoe. Fantastic. Fantastic one. Literally a car. Fantastic. A delicious dinner is magenta. Magenta then is the ozone. Literally a dinner, delicious. A terrible restaurant washed
out and they're evil. Evil, literally, a
restaurant, terrible. So you always say the noun first and then the adjective
comes after it. A beautiful house is
on my Gaza, Linda. Linda, literally it
means a House Beautiful. So the adjective Lindell,
which means beautiful, is feminine in this
example because house is feminine
in my Gaza, Linda. Delicious carrots
would be Sonata. Sonata, the listeriosis. The adjective delicious
comes after the noun. So literally you're saying
carrots, delicious. But because carrots is
a feminine plural noun, then we have to use the
feminine plural version of the word delicious, which is the listeriosis. Nourish the listeriosis or delicious mangoes would be
mangas, the listeriosis. Manga. This is the same even if you
use the word Moines two, which means vary in
front of the adjective. Or if you want to make it a comparative by using
the word mesh, which means more, or using
my yard and men order. It all comes after the noun. So a very big car is Tahoe, two grand In Cao
Moines to ground, which literally means
a car very big. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Too grungy. In cow who moved to grungy, a very small house
would be Gaza, more into beginner mat
Gaza to pick Ghana, which literally means
a house, very small. And we have to use the
feminine version of small because house is feminine, beginner, mat Gaza
more into again, a bigger car would be in Tahoe, my your cow manure, or a smaller house and my Gaza. Gaza manner. So most of the time
in Portuguese, you put the adjective
after the noun, which is unlike in English. And I say most of the
time because as I said, there are some adjectives that are exceptions to the rule, but we shall learn about
those as we come across them.
58. 23g - menos: How would you say in Portuguese? I would like a big car. Cow grand, grand. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
ghetto. Who grungy? Darrow. Who grungy. I would like a small car. I hope we can get on cow
became a bigger car. Your cow, My, or a smaller car. In cow manure. Cow manure to big cars. Deutsch and Deutsch
cows grand dish, or in Brazilian Portuguese, DOI scaffolds, grand juries. Do is Kalhu strategies,
two small cars. Deutsch and Deutsch
cohosh began wash or in Brazilian Portuguese
DOI Scar who's began was the way
Scar who's begins. It's a big table. A woman Mesa Grande, or a lama, Meza grungy. It's a small table. A Oma means up again, human mess up again. Now the word mesh
or mice was more. Well, here's the opposite. Menus. Menus, it
means less. Men wash. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, man knows. How would you say less big? Menos grand? Menos grand or mannose,
grungy menu strategy. Less small. Menu speaking, may not pick NO. Or Meno speaking. How would you say
a bit less for me? Bolton men who spammy
in bulk domain of spammy or bulk men who spammy
in bulk of men who spammy.
59. 23h - too much / too many: How would you say in Portuguese? A bit more for me? Beaucoup, my spammy
with vocal mice. But I mean the word men, which can also be used to
mean fewer as well as less. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I would like fewer cakes, luminous balls, kettle balls, or ghetto mammals
bowls, mannose balls. Now the word the mesh or G mice can mean too
much or too many. And it always comes
after the noun, e.g. too many carrots would
be sonata the mesh. So notice the mesh. Too much wine venue, the mesh venue, the mesh. Too many cakes would be bolus, the mesh, both the mesh. Too much pizza, pizza, the mesh pieces, the mesh. So how would you say
too many carrots? Knowledge the mesh. Mesh or in Brazilian
Portuguese sonatas the mice. So notice the mice. Too much cheese. Casual, the mesh. Guys, you, the mesh. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, casual demise gave you g mice. How would you say that
is too much wine for me? Is to a venue, the
mesh but I mean, if we knew the mesh, but I mean, that is too much cheese for me. A0 through a guide through
the mesh, Pardon me? Is through a tissue
damage spammy or in Brazilian Portuguese is
through a casual demise. Spammy is to a
casual GMI spammy.
60. 23i - recap: How would you say in Portuguese? I would like a bit more cheese. Get on poco mesh, casual, ghetto, and
beaucoup, my schedule. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese Ghetto. Ghetto, my schedule. Do you have any more carrots? And in Portuguese you wouldn't
say the word for any. U will just say, Do
you have more carrots? Time, my time my son would rush. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. Then my sonatas,
Dame, my sonatas. I would like less Gs, ghetto mental styles, you get 0 menos casual or ghetto
mental schedule. Ghetto Meno schedule. Can I have fewer carrots? Both automatic. Mendelssohn.
Mendelssohn rash. Can I have a bit more cheese? Possible. Dahmer on
beaucoup my schedule. Tomorrow. On beaucoup
my schedule. So don't forget
that we use domain, which literally means to take when we talk
about having food. And in Brazilian Portuguese, you would say both automatic
and beaucoup mice, casual. Both automatic
boggle my schedule. In this S and we've had
the mesh or G mice, which means too much or too. Also to many. Grand or grungy means big. Began means small. Mice. Mice means more. Myo means bigger. Mentor is smaller. Beaucoup means a bit. And you can put du or
G on the end to mean a bit of mannose. Meno's means less or fewer. Cow who grand or gal who
grungy means a big car. So the adjective
comes after the noun. Just like a hunch, that would add two fantastic,
fantastic historian. She fantastic means a
fantastic restaurant. Literally a
restaurant, Fantastic.
61. 23j - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How would you say in Portuguese? I would like a bit less, please. Ghetto and beaucoup
men are specified for ghetto in bulk 0 menos fashionable or in Brazilian
Portuguese ghetto and beaucoup mannose por favor. Ghetto and beaucoup
mannose por favor. That's too much for me. A damaged batter me is
through a damage spammy. A bit big. Beaucoup ground and beaucoup ground or in bulk. And Angie, when Boko
grungy it's very small. To begin. To begin. A bit less for him, please. And poco Meno's perineal
slash web order and poco mannose pattern,
swatch level water. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, beaucoup manos part
of early por favor. Pokemon whose early
prototype or a big car. Grand, grand or in Kahoo grungy guy who
grungy a small car. Cao Cao begin. I would like a big
table, please. My main background,
especially I've ordered my major diagram, the special order, or in
Brazilian Portuguese ghetto, my maize eigenenergy por favor. My Meza grungy poor fiber. That's a very big table is through a human mess. I'm going to grant a
omega moved to ground or a human males are more into grungy is a homomorphism
way to grungy. That's too big. Through a grant of the mesh, is through a grant
of the mesh or a grungy mice is sue
a grungy demise.
62. 23k - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? It began with the mesh. It became the mesh. It's too small. In Boko, much better
yields freshwater. Beaucoup mesh pattern,
swatch level. A bit more for him, please. Slash Bible and
beaucoup much trash. I would like a bit more.
Please. Begin with the mesh. Began the mesh. Too small to do a menorah key. To do a menorah key. Everything is smaller here. In main we're speaking, menu speaking. Less small. E su mesa, going to beginner is to a human
Meza, more into beginner. Mat is a very small table. Get Pokemon menos freshwater, ghetto in beaucoup
managed fast-forward. I would like a bit less, please. A woman. Moment to ground
is through human Meza, I'm going to ground. That is a very big table. To do. A manner of speaking
wacky doodle, a menos began wacky. Everything is less small here.
63. 23l - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese, the Wi-Fi password doesn't work. A senior, the Wi-Fi Nathans Yana assigning the Wi-Fi
now from Sienna. I think it's fantastic. But a fantastical para mi, a fantastical Paulos
chicken is delicious. Franco the Powell, ADC. Frank with the bell
aided AAC awesome. Where is the University? On the FECA and universidad? On the FECA, universidad, or in Brazilian Portuguese on the FECA and Universidad
de on the FECA, Universidad de the breakfast
here is delicious. Again, while most wacky
will begin our most wacky. I think the food
is perfect here. I mean, uh, comida Apervita keep para mi comida,
a purified tacky. Can I have a coffee tomorrow? And cafe, puzzled tomar, cafe at Mateo is house. Gaza. Do Mateo at
Gaza, G, Mateo. It isn't fair. It's for me. Now I put an L, it back to me. Now about an ala, a Bellamy. The food isn't very good there. I comida now I moved to Bali. Comida now in wheat or barley.
64. 23m - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap translations. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Quantic USTA, a minute quanta,
quanta course Dominican's. How much is my bill? Time in quiet to metabolism. Metabolism. Do you have a room with a
television, a HashSet? They kinda aesthetic. It's at 07:15 on the
fecal zoological. On the FECA zoological. Where is the Zoo? Shot better? Ls first-level shot but
I L a special level. T for her please. Omega Rwanda now from Sirona, will maker one dash. Now from Sirona. The microwave doesn't work. Ghetto Bogata counterpart
at yield slash traveler. Ghetto by God account
the battery level. I would like to pay the
bill for him, please. Now, even meal frankly, is Sue now a male Frank Wu? That isn't my chicken. Or the right leader
at the right. Turn right. Turn left.
65. 24a - em vermelho: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases will
enter in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese, more mesh or mice, less. Men or men lose too much or too. The mesh. Or D mice. A bit of beaucoup,
the or beaucoup. G. Big, grand, or grungy. Small. Beginning. Bigger or smaller manner. Now, let's start this lesson
with a little color. Value. I value. It means in red, vermilion, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, it's pronounced more like aim. Where may you, may you. So how would you
say in Portuguese? Do you have that in red? Times? Time is to environmental. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Sue environment you I
would like that in red. With Sue and Sue and
vermilion or ghetto is Sue Varma you get with
Sue environmental you I would like the car in red. Cow. I'm vermilion
cow, I'm better value. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
ghetto Calhoun. In Vermeer, you get through
careful environmental. You say the word in is I1. I1 is another of those nasal sounds where it feels like you're closing
your throat at the end. But in Brazilian Portuguese, it's more AIM, AIM, AIM.
66. 24b - colours in Portuguese: Colors. I've made a vocabulary expansion
sheet for this lesson, and it's full of different
colors in Portuguese. But let's just quickly go
over all the main colors now. So the MLU value is
red, border, boda. Boda. Boda means purple. My home, my home. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, my home. My home means brown. Horse. A horse, or horizontal. Horizontal means pink. Asm. Asm means blue. Where the, where the or Verdi means green. Lagrangian. Let
Anja means orange. Bred to pray. Two means black. Mrl. Mrl means yellow. So the a in European Portuguese
is pronounced Morel. Morel. In Brazilian Portuguese, it's
pronounced Ahmad, Amarillo. So Morel or Amarillo is yellow. Branch. Banking means white. And scenes. Scenes or scenes
or scenes, that means gray. So let's just go over
them all one more time. There may lose.
Their MLU is red. Portal is purple. My home. My home or my own. My home is brown. Horse. A horse, or horses
or horizontal is pink. So the R at the
start of a word in Brazilian Portuguese
is pronounced like a h. And in European Portuguese, it's quite a harsh H. And the letter a on the end isn't in European
Portuguese horse. And then in Brazilian
Portuguese, horizontal. Then as is blue or Verdi. In Brazilian Portuguese,
Verdi means green. Lorenzo. Lorenzo. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, Lagrangian. Lagrangian is orange
to red to black. Mrl MRL. Amarillo. Mrl means yellow. Bronco. Bronco is white. And since since, since
the scenes is gray. So you can write those
down on a cue card, put the Portuguese
colors on one side, and then the English
colors on the other.
67. 24c - claro & escuro: Now we've just seen
all the colors in Portuguese are the
main colors anyway, but there are two adjectives
that we can add to the ends of the colors to add
a bit more clarification. Cloud. Cloud means light as a light
version of that color. E.g. as collateral, as though
clown means light blue. So you can put collateral on the end of a color to mean
the light version of it. Then the opposite is a school, a school rule, which means dog. We get the word
obscure from this. Random things are unclear. So a schoolroom, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, school, can be put on the end of any color to mean the
dark version of it. E.g. assume a
school as a school, or as a school means dark blue. So glad ALL is light. And a school, or
school means dark. Demonstratives. The words this, that these and those are called
demonstratives. In Portuguese, they
change depending on whether the noun they're
referring to is masculine, feminine, singular, or plural. In English, the word this refers to a singular
objects, e.g. this house or this car
or this restaurant. Whereas these refers
to plural objects, these houses, these cause,
and these restaurants. Similarly, that refers
to singular objects. And those refers
to plural objects. E.g. this apple, these apples, that Apple, those apples. In Portuguese, there are
ten different variations. It might seem like a lot, but they're really quite simple. To say this. You say h and h, The h, h star, or in Brazilian
Portuguese S G, SDA. They mean this in the
masculine and the feminine. To say that in the masculine, you say S, S, or in the feminine, essa. Essa, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, SC, s. The plural, the
words for these, R, S and S dash, dash, dash, dash, dash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, S, S, S, S, S does. Then the words for those, R, S and S, S. S, S, or S is S us in
Brazilian Portuguese. So the first one is always masculine and the
second one is feminine.
68. 24d - this, that, these & those: We've just seen eight
demonstratives in Portuguese. We had this which was esta, that S essa, these edge to
edge dash those S, S ash. So that's quite a lot
of words to remember, but you can separate
them out into two groups in Portuguese. Firstly, we have this and these, which are edge to edge
to edge to edge dash. And the second group we have
is that in those S, S, S. Now, if you look
at the two groups, they are almost identical. The only difference
is that this, these group has a T in the middle and that
those group doesn't. So compared to S, S, S, S, S, S dash S us. So this and this, if you imagine that T is almost like an arrow
pointing here, it's this here and these here. Whereas that in those over
there, the arrow disappears. So the t disappears. So is this S, is that you could write
those down on a cue card. Put S, S, S, and S ash at the top
of one cue card. And put edge to edge to edge dish and H dash at the
bottom of the cue card. Then on the back you can put
that on those at the top. And this and these. So when one of the words
has an e at the end, or an ES is a masculine word. If the E is changed to an a, then it's a feminine word. Now as I said, this
might seem like a lot of words to
remember at the minute, but the more we practice, the easier it will get. How would you say in Portuguese, this restaurant is fantastic. H dashed around a
fantastic whew. H, The restaurant,
a fantastic whew. In Brazilian Portuguese. Sg Historian Shi,
a fantastic one. Ashley histology, a fantastical. This pizza is delicious. Ash the Piazza. Piazza. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese S that pizza. The pizza. This hotel is very good. Hotel in more into bone to bone. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, SG hotel, a more into bone, HD
hotel and more into bone.
69. 24e - practise with demonstratives: How would you say in Portuguese, these carrots are terrible. H dashed and Welsh
sound derivation. Derivation. Or in
Brazilian Portuguese, S, That's sonatas, some takeaways as the sonatas,
Santa, he weighs. How would you say these
cakes are perfect? Ash, this bold whoosh sound. But if I push this ball, sample fighters or in
Brazilian, Portuguese, ashes, Bose sample fade those edges, bolus sample fate to that
restaurant is fantastic. Restaurant, a fantastic one. Size doubt and a fantastic womb. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, ESI has the Orangi, a fantastical SE, Historian Shi, a fantastic tool that pizza is delicious as the Piazza. Piazza. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese S or pizza. Pizza. That hotel is very good. So hotel, motel, a mood to bone, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, sc or del, N1 to bone to bone. Those carrots are terrible. S to notice some derivation. As such, don't wash
some derivation. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, S as sonatas, Santa he vase or
sonatas, some takeaways. Those cakes I would switch bulge some bones. Such bullish, some bones. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, S is bolus, some bones. S is both sound bonds.
70. 24f - isto: How would you say in Portuguese, these cakes are good. Edge this bulge, some bombs, fish this bulge, some bombs. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, edge is both. Some bonds. Sds
bolts, some bonds. So we've been letting all
these words for this, that, these and those. But you probably remember
from course one, when we learned the
word is soon ease to, which I said means
that when do we use is Sue and when
do we use S and S? Well, when you're not
using a noun and you're just saying that by itself,
you can use the word. It's sort of a neutral
form of the word. However, when you want
to say that plus a noun, you must use the masculine
or feminine ESA versions. So a fantastic, a fantastic
whew means that is fantastic. You're not using
a noun after it, so you can just use isu. But if you want to say
that house is fantastic, well then you're using a noun. So you have to use S, Gaza, a fantastical. Gaza if Antarctica. So you use the feminine
version of that because Gaza or house is a feminine
noun in Portuguese, S of Gaza, a fantastic. If you want to say
that car is fantastic, we say S to a fantastic
Wu Gao, a fantastic whew. So when you want to
say that plus a noun, you use S or ESA. When you want to
say that by itself, you can use isu. The same goes for the word this. If you're using a noun, you have to use the masculine
or feminine esta versions, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, SG, SDA. So that's when you want
to say this plus a noun. However, if you're
not using a noun and you're just saying
this by itself. E.g. this is delicious. Then you can use the
neutral version, H2. H2. H2 means this when you're
not using a noun, e.g. each to a dynasty
also, each to edit. This means this is delicious. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese is to, is to actually see awesome. But if you want to say, this, pizza is delicious, well
now we're using a noun. So we have to say
esh the Piazza. Piazza or S, that pizza
at the ratios are. Similarly, if you want to say, this cake is delicious, you would say to bowl the
ball at the DC awesome. Or in Brazilian, Portuguese, SG Bowl, awesome, SG bowl. So there are six ways to say this over that in Portuguese. If you want to use a
masculine singular noun, you say S for this and for that. Or in resilient Portuguese SG. And see, if you have
a feminine noun, you use Ashdod for
this and ESA for that. And if you just want to use this and that by itself
without a noun, you can use each to or is two. This is sue. For that.
71. 24g - isso: How would you say in
Portuguese, This is fantastic. Each to a fantastical. Each to a fantastical. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, is to, a fantastical is to
a fantastic whew. This pizza is delicious. H, the pizza and the
H, the Pisa, Italy. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, S, the pizza. The pizza. This cake is delicious. The ball, the ball, awesome. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, SG bolo. Address the ozone. Sg bolo, at least the awesome. This is delicious. Each to edit this theory also, each to address the awesome
or is to address the ozone, is to a delicacy, awesome. That is fantastic. A fantastic, a fantastic whew. That pizza is delicious. Piazza, easily see
OWASA, a sub Visa. Visa or a pizza. Pizza, Elisha. That cake is delicious. As a bowl. As a bowl,
ethnicity or Zoom, or in Brazilian Portuguese, sc, sc bolo, addressee, awesome. How would you just say that is delicious? Delicacy also.
72. 24h - um casaco: Now here's something that you
might need if it gets cold. Because Kazakh, when it
means a coat, Kazakh. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I would like this quote, ghetto edge to edge to Kazakh or ghetto SG,
SG, Kazakh, cool. I would like that coat. S, because S Okazaki, or in Brazilian
Portuguese Ghetto. Ghetto asic has an S or SC means that S or S, G means this. How would you say,
Where is my coat? On their staff? Who may occur? On their staff? Who may Okazaki or in Brazilian Portuguese on
GS staff who may occur on GSR will mail because we use on the star because a coat is something that can
move around easily, so it only has a
temporary location on the milk is actually how
would you ask somebody? Do you have this code in red? Times h, the Kazakh, the MLU, tiny edge to Kazakhstan
and vermilion or in Brazilian Portuguese thing
HE Kazakh environmental. You. Then SDKs are called
environmental cue. These coats are fantastic. Edge dish because some
fantastic whoosh edge just because some
fantastic ocean. Or in Brazilian Portuguese
edge just because Argos, some fantastic Gus, HD's Kazakh course,
some fantastic goals. How would you say those
coats are fantastic? She, because I've got some fantastic ocean as such because some fantastic ocean or in Brazilian Portuguese
S is because echoes. Some fantastic Gus. S is Kazakh was
some fantastic Gus.
73. 24i - clothes in Portuguese: Clothes. I've already told you about the vocabulary
expansion sheet for colors that goes
with this course. But there's also one full
of items of clothing. So there's lots of vocabulary related to all
sorts of clothing. So go and have a peak
and choose a couple or three words to learn.
We've already had. So that's one way you
can cross off the list. In this lesson so far we've had eigenvalue or environmental cue, which means in red, edge to edge and
H2 or mean this. Remember that edge to
edge G is the masculine. Esta, or esta is the feminine. And each x2 or x2 is the neuter. So you would use that
one when you're not talking about a specific noun. Then esh, dish and H dash, or S. And S does mean these, and that's the masculine
plural. Feminine plural. Esa. And S2 will mean that
S is the masculine, essa is the feminine. And S2 is used when
you're not using a noun. So you put S and S R
in front of a noun. E su can be used by itself. Then such and such, I mean those or S and S, S in Brazilian Portuguese. So S is the masculine plural, S, S is the feminine plural. Then we had Okazaki, which means a coat. Now, if you're going shopping, then you'll need one of these. Well, my sarcolemma.
Sarcolemma, it means a bag, as in a shopping bag or a
carrier bag. Almost Nikola. You might ask somebody in
a shop, Do you have a bag? Dying? Messiah cola. Cola or in Brazilian, Portuguese mass or cola? Cola. How would you ask, Do
you have any bags? Times the coal ash, sacrilege or in
Brazilian Portuguese? Things I call us
then is I call us. So you literally just say, do you have bags? How would you say I
would like a bag? Mask or cola. Cola.
74. 24j - uma sacola: So we've just seen that
almost eye color means a bag. So how would you say
I would like to bags? Do watch the coal ash. Carol Dweck, psychology. So Socolow is feminine. So we use the feminine
version of to do ash, or in Brazilian Portuguese, ghetto do as a Cola's. Again, we'll do as the Cola's. How would you say
the bag is perfect? As the cola Apervita, as a color paper
fighter or Socolow, a perfect as I color Apervita. How would you say
this bag is perfect? H does a cola. Cola,
a per fighter, or in Brazilian Portuguese, S, That's a color Apervita. S, That's the color imperfecta. That bag is terrible. S as a cola. Cola, it they
reveal these bags are perfect. H, That's the coal
ash sample phi dash, dash, dash, dash, dash. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, S, sub perfect us. Supper fetus. Those bags are terrible. Sh, the coal ash
sound derivation. As such, the coal ash
sound derivation. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it
S as the Cola's South, the South takeaways. So S is those when you're talking about a
feminine plural noun. So Socolow is feminine, and so coal ash is
feminine and plural. So we use S or S us.
75. 24k - uma cesta: Here's your next word
for this lesson. We'll mustache the massage
that it means a basket, or in Brazilian, Portuguese, or my sister. My sister. So how would you say I
would like a basket? And it means a basket in
any sense of the word. But you can use it to
mean a shopping basket, ghetto, massage. Massage, or in Brazilian
Portuguese ghetto, my sister. Good. My sister. Excuse me. Do you have a basket? Commonly senza di my sister
called the sensor time. My sister, or in Brazilian
Portuguese. Go only sensor. Then my sister, connie
senza, my sister. How would you say Do
you have any baskets? Dash. Dash, dash. So literally just say,
do you have baskets? In Brazilian
Portuguese, you would pronounce it, says does. Then he says Thus, how would you say Can I have
a basket, please? Postal data, message, dashboard, postal their message
Dash7 fiber. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, apostle dare, I
say staple fiber. Possible their staple fiber. Where are the baskets? On this tau, dash, on their stone as dash, dash. So again, because baskets are things that can move around, they only have a
temporary location. So we can use on the edge down. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce
it on GS stone. Assist us. On GS
down, assist us. Where are the baskets? So my sister or my
sister means a basket, but you might hear
some people call it my session linear must asthenia. This means exactly
the same thing, but it just depends
on whereabouts in Portugal or Brazil you are, some people will say in
my sister or my sister. And other people might say, Oh my gosh, tinea. Tinea. Whenever you see the
letters in yeah, or Innu on a masculine word, on the end of the word. It means a smaller
version of it. So tinea is really
like a small basket or a little basket will
massage tinea or asthenia. In this course, we'll
stick to using OMA Sasha. I just wanted to
bring up so asthenia, in case you hear somebody use it or you see it
written somewhere, you'll know what it means. So my siesta, or almost
asthenia both mean a basket.
76. 24l - um carrinho: We've just seen
that all my data, or in mass asthenia
means a basket. And I said that when you see
India on the end of a noun, it means a smaller
version of it. Well, we've had cow,
which means car. If we put in new on the end, we get on getting new cosine nu, which literally means a
little car or a cart. And getting new means
a cart or a trolley, as in a shopping cart
or a shopping trolley. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, the double r is pronounced
more like an H Omega. He knew. He knew. How would you say I
would like a trolley? In getting new ghetto. Do you have a trolley? Time in getting new time in Cotonou or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Guy he knew. He knew. Do you have any trolleys? Diane, Diane guy news or
in Brazilian Portuguese. Then continues, then continues. So in this lesson so far, we've had our environment
or environmental cue, which means in Red S, S, a, and E is to mean that S and a sash mean those
edge to edge data. And each to mean this. H and H dash mean these guys
are cool, means a coat. Color, means a bag. Massage, that means a basket. And incurring new means
a trolley or a cart. How would you say Can I have a trolley puzzle there on getting you puzzled their
own guardian you excuse me, where are the trolleys? Only sensor on this town? Muscarine news. Only sensor. Understand which kind news
or in Brazilian Portuguese, go only sensor on ds down. Who's cocky news? Currently sensor on just
don't use cockiness.
77. 24m - colours after the noun: Colors in Portuguese. Remember how I said
last lesson that adjectives have to come after
the noun in Portuguese. Well, all colors, adjectives. So they must come after the
word they're describing. E.g. the new brand. The new brand gu
means white wine, literally wine, white
or MCA, Umbrella. Umbrella, which means
a yellow house, or literally a house. Yellow. Since colors are adjectives, they also have to agree to what it is that
they're referring to. E.g. the MLU means red. But in the feminine,
you will change the OH on the end to an a. So in the masculine we
say in cow who were male. In Cao, vermilion,
which means a red car, or literally a car, red. But then in the feminine
we would say in my Gaza, vermilion mcals of Animalia, which means a red house, or literally a house. Red. Now, putting the color after the noun might seem a
little odd and back to front. But I actually think it
makes more sense to do it the Portuguese way
than the English way. If you think about
it in English, we say things like the red car. We're saying what color
it is before we even said what it is, a red house. However, in Portuguese,
you say that it's a car. And then you say
what color it is. A car which is red in cow, but MLU, or a house which
is red, my Gaza vermilion. Now I'll just point
out one more thing. If you want to say red
wine in Portuguese, you actually have to say
tinted wine, which is venue. Venue going to say you don't
literally say red wine, you say tinted wine. So how would you
say in Portuguese? I would like the red coat. Male, you do you
have a green car? Tiny Calhoun time? Or ten? G. Where g? I would like
a bottle of red wine. Omega half, the venue T into omega half at
the venule tin. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, get omega half a G Newton. To get omega half a G Newton.
78. 24n - recap: How would you say in Portuguese? I would like a white wine venue, Bronco, ghetto venue, Bronco. I would like some white wine, vinegar Bronco. I would like some red wine. When you tend to get into. In this lesson, we've had eigenvalue or environmental cue, which means in red, we've had S, S and E SU, which all mean that S or S. C is used in front
of masculine nouns. Essa is used in front of feminine nouns and
is used by itself. Then S and S, I mean those that are
masculine and feminine. Edge to edge. And each do or S G, star and east to mean this. So again, S or S G is used
in front of masculine nouns. H star or a star is used in
front of feminine nouns. And x2, or x2 is used by itself. And H dash mean these, or S, G, and S does. The masculine and feminine
words then means a coat. Mustard color means
a bag. Or my sister. Or my sister means a basket, as in a shopping basket. And then getting new. Or Inca he knew, means a trolley or a cart, as in a shopping trolley.
79. 24o - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How do you say in Portuguese? The red coat? Kazakh over mail you? Who Kazakh Woburn mail you. Also, I'm not sure whether
I've pointed out that when you have an l followed by h, It's almost as though the L
is followed by the letter Y. So it's very male.
You were male, you. How would you say this
restaurant is extraordinary Around a extraordinary, extraordinary or in Brazilian Portuguese St. histology,
a asteroids scenario. Hd has a astrology. Now you can I have a basket, bottle, massage
that parcel there. My sister my sister
through there. My sister. You have this code in red. Dye edge, the Kazakh
environmental, you fine edge to Kazakhstan and vermilion or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Then HG Kazakh environmental. You SG Kazakh
environmental, you. May I have that in blue puzzle that is to assume
also that issue. I would like the brown shirt for him and the yellow
shirt for her. So you might need to
check the colors and the clothing vocabulary
expansion sheet for this one. Get a gummies, I'm at home but i e e Akami is Amarillo
Perella getter. We can meet them at home,
but a u e meso Amarillo, better ELA, or in Brazilian Portuguese.
Welcome ism at home. But Ellie economies
Amarillo Perella, ghetto, come into my home. By Ellie e. academies,
Amarillo Perella. How would you say
this hotel is good? Hdl tell a bone. A bone or SG hotel a bone. A bone. You have this shared in orange, time, H, dagger, misa, and Laurentia by
ash that gummies or or thing is that
gummies or enlarge. They stuck a misa, a Lagrangian. Where are the trolleys? On the stone? Whoosh, whoosh.
Whoosh carry news. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, Stone, who's cow, he
knows. Oranges Stone. Who's continuous. You have that in red. Time is Sue, I'm vermilion. Time is through environmental. You.
80. 24p - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse transactions. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Boss will do as a
college slash fiber. Boss will do extra
color swatch fiber. Can I have two bags, please? H2o. H2o tail. This hotel. Time issue, I'm very male. You find e su I'm
fundamentally new. Do you have that in red? Ace Hotel? A bone. A bone. That the hotel is good. On the stone. On the stone. Where are the shoes? H dashed around a provide two H dash diet and a per phi to this restaurant is perfect. Because our cuvette Okazaki where the green coat. Because Muslim female, you get to ask because
ICU, Muslim vermilion. I would like that coat, but in red h delta L. Now I provide to Massimo to
bone age the hotel. Now I provide to
Massimo into bone. This hotel isn't perfect,
but it's very good. Answers or something to
fight to simplify to. Those hotels are perfect.
81. 24q - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases that we learned in
previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese, how much is a room? Quantile Gustaf, enquire
to Quantico stone. Can I pay by card, please? Possible by God. For both to peg or

82. 24r - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English
recap translations. What do these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? On the FECA edge, the sum of the area on the edge
to some fairly area. Whereas the train station some sync we may hear.
Some think we may. Yeah. It's 05:30. The boyish do beef
cattle Provo Frank. The bush do beef. Cattle. Provide Oh, Frank. After the steak, I would like to try the chicken. Is she laid out now from Sienna? She lighter now from Sirona. The cattle doesn't work. In ***** on, now often

83. 25a - gosto de: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learnt in the last lesson. How do you say in
Portuguese a coat? Because a bag. Must I color in red? I'm very male. You or
environmental you. What are the three
different ways to say this? Edge to edge and H2, or in Brazilian Portuguese SG, SDA and east to. What are the three
different ways to say that? S, S and E soon or ESI, S and E SU. What are the two different
ways to say those? Search? And a sash? Or in
Brazilian Portuguese, S is S, S. What are the two
different ways to say these? Edge to edge dash? Or in Brazilian
Portuguese as Gs. S does. How do you say a basket? My sister or my sister? A trolley. Or Inca he knew. Now here's a nice
phrase in Portuguese. Gosh to the gauche to do. It means I like. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you will pronounce it goes to g, goes to g. So it
means that I like, and it's made up of the words
gosh two or gospel and the G. And when you put the word
due or G in front of things, it tends to join onto them. We've already seen that it
can join onto the words for the, the plus omega. Plus omega plus makes ******, and the plus ash makes dash. Similarly, the word do
joins with the word spore, this, that these and those. So the plus Ashton
makes dashed plus h, That makes dash down. The plus S makes deaths. And the plus essa makes DSA. The close esters makes dash, dash plus h dash, dash, dash plus S, which
makes their search. And the plus S ash, this ash. Obviously in
Brazilian Portuguese, they will be pronounced
differently. Dash g, desktop, Deci, deci dashes. Their status. Disease and death as
keeping all that in mind. How would you say, I
like this restaurant? Goes to digital history around, goes to destinations around, or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to dash g Hester
and she goes to this G has the Orangi
we have Gosh to do. And then it joins together
with the hashed out. And you get, goes
to the restaurant. How would you say, I
like the chicken here? Gosh to do Frank wacky. Gosh to do Frank wacky. We have Gosh to do plus 0. Frankel makes gauze to do. Frankly, I like the chicken.
84. 25b - gosto disso: How would you say in Portuguese? I like everybody here. Goes to the total moon wacky. Goes to the total amount lucky. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, goes to D, total moon wacky, goes
to G, total moon wacky. I like the red car. Gosh to do Cao. Liu, gauche
to do carryover menu. If you want to say,
I like it here, in Portuguese, you
just say I like here. And the word do
joins on with AKI. So how would you
say I like it here? Goes to that key, Gosh to that key. So the word do and
a key can join together to form ducky Gosh
to the key. I like it here. Now, if you put the
phrase goes to the, with the words each
two and E soon. It can mean I like
this and I like that. Goes through these two means. I like this. And goes to the zoo
means I like that. You can also use the
phrase goes through these two to mean I like, it goes through this loop can mean I like that or I like it. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I like that in red. Goes to this. Alu, gosh, do this. I'm very e-mail you
or goes to these two environmental u goes to
these environmental you. How would you say,
I like it in red? Goes to this. So
I'm very male, you, or goes to these two
environmental u goes to this. Can mean I liked
that or I like it. How would you say I
like the red coat, but I like it in green as well. Gosh, to do Kazakh
over mail you mash, goes to the zoo and
where the combine. Gosh to do Kazakh Uber, MLU, much goes to the zoo. I'm better than mine. Or in Brazilian Portuguese. And goals to do Kazakh
over mail, you. Mass goes to these two
inverted V tan beam, goes to do Kazakh over mail. You mass goes to these
two embedded Deaton beam.
85. 25c - de madeira: We had in the last
translation as well, which was done by
nine or ten being combined can mean
also to, or as well. How would you say, I
like the white wine, but I like this as well. Gosh, to do when you're Ban Gu, Mash goes to these two combine, goes to UVU Branko, much goes to these two combine. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to Brown goo, mass goes to these two campaign, goes to the new bank. Mass goes to these two tan beam. Now this is a nice phrase. Do Madeira, do Medina. It means inward, or actually it means of would do Madeira. Or in Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it, gee, my data, my data. So you can use it to say when
something is made of wood. So how would you
say in Portuguese, do you have that inward? Time is pseudo Medina time
issue the Madeira or thing is. So Jima data then
is to Jima data. I like it inward. Goes to the zoo. Do Madeira, goes to these two dumber
IRA or goes to this, oop, Gee, my data goes
to these two Jima data. Or how would you
say, I like that inward goes through
these two demoed IRA. So it will be the
same. So I like it and I like that are the
same in Portuguese. Goes to these two, doMath, IRA, or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to these two Jima data, goes to these two
Jima data materials. Now, I've created a vocabulary
expansion sheet for this lesson that has a lot of different types of
materials in Portuguese. So we've just had the
Madeira or Jima data, which means in wood
or Literary Award. But in this vocabulary
expansion sheet, you will find lots of
other types of materials.
86. 25d - prefiro: This next word looks very similar to its
English counterpart, but I feel it means I
prefer breathy rule. So how would you
say in Portuguese, I prefer the red coat. Okazaki better male you. But I feel Okazaki where MLU? I like the green coat, but I prefer the red coat. Goes to Kazakh who very much preferable
because of COVID MLU. Gosh to do Kazakh would much
prefer Kazakh over mail. Or in Brazilian Portuguese you would say goes to do Kazakh over g Mass,
pre-fill their mail. You guys to do Kazakh over
g Mass pray, feel ALU. I like to go to town, but I prefer to go to the beach. And in Portuguese you would say, I like to go to the town. Goes to the ear as the dad mash, peripheral era prior
goes to the EEOC dad. Much prefer era prior, or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to G or acidity. Mass preferably era
prior goes to G, E or acidity must
prefer we're applying. Now the word iso is a word
that we've already had. We learned that it means that, but it can also mean it. And we've seen this when we
were doing goes to these two, which I said can mean I
liked that or I like it. So Ysom can mean
that or just it. So how would you say,
I prefer it here? But if we swap key,
preferred Lewis wacky. Now, if you look in the
dictionary, you'll see iso, meaning that there
is a word for it in Portuguese which is
different to E. So you can just use the word,
which is the letter 0. However, in more cases than not, you'll hear Portuguese
people use Ysom, where we'll use it. So if you say I prefer it
or I like it in Portuguese, they tend to use e su. So let's say I prefer
that or I like that. So the word, it isn't a direct translation
of the word is true. If you translate it, it
literally it means that. But Portuguese speakers use a lot of the time where we
would use the word, it.
87. 25e - it: How would you say in Portuguese? I like the green coat, but I prefer it in red. Gosh, to look at
aggravated mash periphery. So I'm vermilion goes to do because I covered
much periphery. So I'm MLU, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, goes to the Kazakh of energy, must prefer with Sue
environmental goals to do Kazakh of energy must precede
with Sue environmental you. How would you say I
would like it in red? We sue. I'm very male. Getaway, so I'm very male. You or can we embed MLU? Is to embed MLU. I would like it in would get who is Sue limit
Ira can do is to do Madeira or ghetto
E to G my data. My data. Do you have it in red? Tiny sue under male u times e, su and vermilion, or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Then isu, environmental,
then is to environmentally. Do you have it in wood? Time is to do Madeira. Tiny pseudomallei IRA or ten iso Jima data is
through Jima data. So in this lesson
we've had gauche to do or goes to G.
Which means I like, goes to these two and goes
through these two. Mean. I like this and I like
that respectively. We said that goes
through these two can also be used to mean, I like it. Do Medina or Jima,
data means inward. But I feel means I prefer, you say, but if fetal iso, literally it means
I prefer that. But you can also use it as an equivalent to the English
phrase, I prefer it. So it's not a
literal translation. But you can say peripheral
issue in Portuguese, if you say I prefer
it in English. Similarly, ghetto can be used
to mean I would like it. Literally it means
I would like that. Tiny sue means d have it. Or thing is to literally
means do you have that? Can be used literally
to mean that. But you can also use it as it. When it's an object
such as I prefer it. I would like it or
do you have it?
88. 25f - Let's practise - English to Portuguese: It's time now to practice what we've been learning
in this lesson. How would you say in
Portuguese, I like the lamb. Gosh to do cardio room, goes to do codeine room. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to the core data, goes to do cool. I like it in red, but
I prefer it in yellow. Goes to these two new
mash periphery Sue I, MRL goes to these
two eigenvalue. Much prefer W2, I'm MRL, or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to these two environmental
you must prefer W2 and Amarillo goes to
these two MLU mass preferably through a Amarillo. I like the red code, but
I prefer it in blue. Goes to the Kazakh over
mail you much periphery. So I assume, Gosh to do
because I can vermilion much preferred we soon as
I prefer the red wine. When Newton. But I
feel with Gooten too. I like it in green. Goes to this thing. I'm Verdu goes to these two, I invented, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, goes to these, to invert g, goes to
these two inverted. Can I have that in brown bottle? There is two. I'm my own boss to tell is Sue, I'm at home. I like it inward. Goes to these pseudo Madeira, goes to these two nomad IRA, or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes through these
two Jima data, goes to these two Jima data. I like the green coat. Gosh to do Kazakh, where
the gauche to do Kazakh? Or in Brazilian Portuguese
girls to do Kazakh. Where d goes to do Kazakh? Oh well gee, I like
it in plastic. So you'll need to
use the materials vocabulary expansion
sheet for this one. Goes to these to the plastic. Goes to these to the plastic. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, goes to these two g plastic. Goes to these two g plastic. I liked that. Goes to the SU, goes to the zoo.
89. 25g - Let's practise - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some
reverse translations. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Is to Amazon Cloud, tiny, iso, ISO club. Do you have that in light blue? Gosh to do Kazakh, where the girls to
do Kazakh, who? I like, the green coat. Good, who is who I am as
getaway xu and xw classroom. I would like that in light blue. Tiny, so I'm out on
tiny, so I'm at on. Do you have that in brown? Goes to these to the plastic, goes to the pseudoplastic. I like it in plastic. Goes to do casual match. But if it goes to do
Guiso mesh preview movie, knew I liked the cheese but I prefer the wine
bottle there is to Amazon school bottle deadly
sue, as well as guru. Can I have that in dark blue? Gosh to do cord item. Gosh to do cool. I like the lamb. Who Kazakh who very much cost
to Dakota Cooper mail you combine a few because I
couldn't bear to the mash Gosh, to do because I could combine. I prefer the green code, but I like the red coat as well. Gosh, to do because of
COVID MLU. Much prefer W2. Amarillo goes to because our coupon value much
prefer Louis Zoo. I MRL. I like the red coat, but
I prefer it in yellow.
90. 25h - Let's recap - English to Portuguese: Now let's do some
recap translations to incorporate words and phrases we learned in previous lessons. How would you say in Portuguese? It's half-past three. Sound crazy mega,
some crazy mania. The breakfast is
absolutely fantastic year. Who began almost a
absolute domain. Fantastic wacky.
Will begin well, muscle, absolutely. Fantastic wacky. I would like to go at 04:15 years, as quite true. It doesn't get too
weird as quatro begins. I think it's fantastic. But I mean, a fantastical, but, uh, me, a fantastic whew. The dinner is perfect. April phi two

Road on the left. Dome as a governor, who are

who are scared them. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese, dormi, a segment who are either boys, who am I scared the Tommie as a good or who
are at the data, either poised at their status. Who am I scared? Where
is the city-center? On the FECA will send
through the seeded. On the FECA will send
through that seeded. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese on the FECA. Who central that Cdg? On the FECA? Hussein
through that Cdg. I would like a trolley. Guarding you, kettle.
91. 25i - Let's recap - Portuguese to English: Now let's do some Portuguese to English recap transitions. What are these Portuguese
sentences mean in English? Carol, taxi, pedal, trash
pistol against the parish quadro special or taxi, but a trash Pessoa alkenes the parish quiet room,
especially abhor. I would like a taxi for
three people at 03:45. Please. Get my reservoir ash
satisfaction level. Ghetto reservoir ash
satisfaction level. I would like a reservation
at 07:00. Please. Go to our hotel. Hash sync, ghetto ear. I will tell us think I would like to go to
the hotel at 05:00 time. I'm better than buying a Camila. I'm better than do you have the shared in
green massage? Massage. I would like some Apple's
sunset, the media. The media. It's half-past seven. Ghetto taxi ash do
as EMEA get a taxi, I should do as a mayor. I would like a taxi at
half-past to a gas. The Maria, I should think ghetto ear occurs at the
Maria. I should think. I would like to go to
Maria's house at 05:00. I go what I supposed to
our bank and bank boo. What time can I go to the bank? That absolute amid
fantastic wacky magenta, a absolute domain,
fantastic wacky. The dinner is absolutely
fantastic here.
92. 26a - um bilhete: Let's start this lesson
with a quick recap of the words and phrases we
learned in the last lesson. How do you say in Portuguese? I like Gosh to the
eye like this. And I like that. Goes through these two
and goes to these two. I like it goes to these two. In, would doom either C or D. My data. I prefer that, or it is true. In this lesson, we're
going to have a look at some traveling terminology. So here's your first word. Bill yet. Bill yet. It means a ticket yet. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, you pronounce it G, B, D, F, G. How would
you say in Portuguese? I would like a
ticket for Lisbon. And bill yet to publish boy, girl, boy or girl. Cheap parallelizable. Kettle. Bell is bar. I would
like two tickets. Deutsch and Deutsch be the actors or in Brazilian,
Portuguese Ghetto. Ghetto. Billy edges. I would like two
tickets for Porto, please. Carol Dweck, biliary,
which purport to love or carol Deutsch bill yet which purport
to slash tab order. Or in Brazilian
Portuguese ghetto, those villages
purport to por favor. Boys PDH is periportal
to por favor. Yet means a ticket, and it can be used to mean tickets for shows or
for theatre, e.g. but generally it's used to mean a ticket for some sort
of mode of transport.
93. 26b - um bilhete de ida: We know yet, or g
means a ticket. Well, we can add a little
bit to the end of it and we get the EDA ameliorate. The either it means
a one-way ticket. Ameliorate the either or
in Brazilian Portuguese, you would pronounce it g EDA. He g EDA. So how would you
say in Portuguese? I would like a
one-way ticket for ever either. But our era to the either but our avatar or
in Brazilian Portuguese. Get IgG, iga, butter, water. G EDA, parabola. If you want more
than one way ticket, then all you have to do is make the word for ticket plural. So you say Deutsche. The either. The either or in
Brazilian Portuguese, though is g EDA, those pHs G either. So how will you
say, I would like to one-way tickets for Porto? Deutsche bill yet which
the either purport to get Deutsch polyether
either but upward to or in Brazilian Portuguese. Ghetto noise bleaches g EDA. But upward to do is
be the HST either. But according to
how would you ask, how much is it for
three one-way tickets? Quantile Gustaf
portrays bill yet either quantum poor
thresh mediators, the either or in
Brazilian Portuguese, quanto Cuscuta
dress PDH is g EDA. Quanto costa portrays be the
HST either quantum poor. We use poor because it's
sort of like asking, how much is it per
three one-way tickets? One to Kusto, pour bleach to either how would you say I would like for
one-way tickets, please. How much is that? Regulators to either
stretch five over? Quantico stays to the dashboard.
94. 26c - um bilhete de ida e volta: So we've had ticket
and one-way ticket, but perhaps you will
want to come home again, in which case you will
need one of these. Yet they either evolve
into di di Volta. It means a return ticket. Literally it means a ticket
of going and return. The either E volta or in
Brazilian Portuguese, you would say Emilia, g, g, EDA evolve into GED Volta. How would you say, I would like a return ticket for Lisbon? Juliet to the EDI Volta
polish bar, ghetto. The EDI Volta polish bar, or in Brazilian
Portuguese ghetto, Jie Di Volta paralysed bar. Emilia GGE, die
Volta paddle is boa. We've had Juliet. Juliet G, which means a ticket. Yet the either means a one-way ticket or in
Brazilian Portuguese, g, g EDA. If you want to say
to one-way tickets, you just say Deutsche
bill yet either. So all you have to
do is make bill yet plural by putting
an S on the end. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, do is bleaches G Eva. And then a return
ticket is Juliet. The either evolve or
g, g EDA evolved. And if you want to say
to return tickets, again, all you
have to do is make the word for ticket plural. So you would say Jewish, Juliet, the EDI Volta Deutsch be
enters the EDA evolve. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, though is bleaches g EDA Volta do is bleaches GE
that evolved into. So how would you
say I would like to return tickets for Porto? Carol Dweck should be encouraged
to eat I Volta purport to get Rudolph the EDI Volta. But a poll to, or in
Brazilian Portuguese, noise believe touches G, either evolve that
purport to Carol Lewis, bleaches Jie Di
Volta by rapport. How would you say how much is a one-way ticket for Pharaoh? Acosta? Emilia to the either
peripheral quantity goes down to the either or in
Brazilian Portuguese, quantile q star, Emilia GG, either Q12, Gustaf, Emilia
GG, either peripheral. Now, in English, we
tend to say a ticket to pharaoh rather than
a ticket for Pharaoh. In Portuguese, however,
you'd always use four instead of two
in this situation. So stick with pattern
in the pattern file.
95. 26d - quanto custa por...: How would you say in Portuguese, how much is it for to
return tickets to Brugger? Quantile Cousteau produce
mediators di di Volta Barbara, quantile Cousteau,
bluish, pediatrics, the EDI volt about a burger
or in Brazilian Portuguese, quanto costa produce pHs g
EDA evoked available Agha, quantile Cousteau, poor boys
PDH is g by volta parabola. Now, did you get the quantile
Cousteau poor part, right? In that question. Well, as I said before, quanto Cousteau poor means
how much is it full? We use bore when we're talking about how
much something is four because it's sort of
like the English word per, how much does it
cost per ticket, or how much does it
cost per something? Quantile Gustaf pour,
how much is it fall? So how would you
say how much is it for to return tickets to Lisbon? Quantum Cousteau produce
pediatrics D-Day volt battery, leash bore, quantile, push the produce mediators di
di volta per leash bar. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, quantile Gustaf produce pHs Jie Di Volta
valleys bore Quanto. Who's that produce pediatric
GI di volt apparel is power. How much is it for a
bottle of white wine? Quanta pasta, bar Omega
half at the venue Bronco. Want to push the palm and a
half at the venue Bronco. So if you think of the
phrase quanto Kush that poor as a set phrase
meaning how much is it for? Then it'll just roll off the
tongue much more easily. Quantico support. How much is it for something? Quantile. Quantile go step or omega alpha quantile
Gestapo in Calhoun. So you can put anything
after quantile q star pore. How would you say how much is it for three tickets to Porto? Quanta pasta portrays
bill yet which purport to quantum pushed
upward pressure on the edge but a poor to zero. Don't forget that in English, we can say tickets to somewhere. But in Portuguese
you always have to say tickets for somewhere. Para, two tickets to Porto, or literally tickets for Porto. In Brazilian Portuguese,
you would pronounce it quantile course that
portrays PDH is periportal. Quantile coastal portrays
PDH is parabola.
96. 26e - o comboio / o trem: This next word has two versions, depending on whether you're
in Portugal or in Brazil. In Portugal, you'll
hear all combo, combo. In Brazil, you'll hear
would train, would train. The Brazilian word.
It's probably easier to guess
the meaning from. It means the train. Who convoy you in Portugal
and who train in Brazil. So how would you say
where is the train? Welcome Boy, you on their
staff who can boil or in Brazilian Portuguese on JSTOR or train on JSTOR would train. How would you say where
is the train for Lisbon? On the bore on their
staff will come in. Brazilian Portuguese. On JSTOR would
train police bore. On GSR will train police power. What time is the
train for Pharaoh occur or are they will
come for you, but I fall. Or as a peripheral. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, they would train peripheral, are gay or as they
would train periphery. So in this lesson so far, we've had yet or G, which means a ticket. Yet either or hCG, that means a one-way ticket. Though is the either or those pHs g means to one-way tickets. The EDI volta or HE GE die
Volta means a return ticket, literally a ticket of going and returning noise polyether, the EDI Volta means to
return tickets or in Brazilian Portuguese you
would pronounce it though is pHs, GE die Volta. The phrase quantile
Cousteau poor or Quantico, Singapore means how
much is it for? Then we had who come and train, which mean the train. You use 0 combo in
European Portuguese, and wood grain in
Brazilian Portuguese.
97. 26f - o autocarro / o ônibus: So we said that the word for train has two different
versions in Portuguese, depending on whether you're
in Portugal or in Brazil. So you say, if you're in Portugal or train if
you're in Brazil. Well, this next word
also has two versions. Out to Calhoun. Who out2 cow, who is
the Portuguese version. And one nibbles. Only boost is the
Brazilian version. And again, it's probably
easier to guess the meaning from the
Brazilian weird. Then from the Portuguese word, it means the bus. Who out to Cao who
are omnivores. So how would you say where is the boss on their stuff? While to Cao? Who understand where to go? Who? On just that one nibbles
on JSTOR, on the moose. Can I take the bus postal tomorrow? Basel domain, while to
gavel or possible tomar only boost postal
tomar. Warn the booths. How would you ask Can I take the train possible tomorrow? Tomorrow? Or possible Tamar. Who train? Possible
tomorrow train. I would like to take the bus, K2, Tamar, who have to cow? To cow, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, get through Tamar. Tamar on the bus. I like the train, but I prefer the bus. Gosh, to do combo you
Marsh peripheral. Well to Cao who
goes to do combo? You much prefer to go home. Or in Brazilian Portuguese, he would say, goes to do train, must pray, few nibbles, goes to new terrain. Mass peripheral,
one, the booths.
98. 26g - a casa de banho / o banheiro: How would you say in Portuguese? I like the boss, but
I prefer the train. Gosh, to do our Tuckahoe,
much peripheral. Gosh, do I have to care how much profit or in Brazilian Portuguese goes to do on the booths must prefer, would train goals
to do only booths. Mass peripheral, who train. Now here's another word that has two different versions
in Portuguese. Accounts at the Bank. Gaza, Dubai knew, that's
what you would say in European Portuguese and
in Brazilian Portuguese, you say Obanya, who bank? They both mean the
toilet or the bathroom. I gathered the
value in Portuguese or Obanya in
Brazilian Portuguese. So how would you ask, where is the toilet? On the FECA, a gas
demand on the FECA, Gaza W, or in Brazilian
Portuguese, orangey FECA. On G, FECA, Obanya. You use FECA rather than a star because a bathroom is something that can't
easily be moved around. So it's got a fixed location. How would you say? I would
like to go to the toilet. Good. We're a gas
turbine new account with the bank knew or in
Brazilian Portuguese. Good. We're Obanya,
ghetto ear, Obanya. So we have an a
with an accent on it in the European
Portuguese version. And that's because I gathered the venue is a feminine noun. So ear gathered
about the art and the are joined together to
form a with an accent on it. And then in the Brazilian
Portuguese version, by needle is masculine. So it's at, they joined
together to form our bank. How would you say can
I go to the toilet? We're gathered the
manual parcel, we're accounts at
the bank or pasta, We're album to album. In this lesson, we've had
and Juliet or Emilia, HE, which means a ticket to the EDA, or G. G either means
a one-way ticket. Deutsch pediatrics, the either
or do I spell the edges G, that means two one-way tickets. And Juliet, the dipole or HE GE die Volta means
a return ticket. Though each period di, di volta or those pHs Jie Di Volta means
to return tickets. If you say quantile
Cousteau poor, or quantile Gustaf pour, it means how much is it for you? Is the European
Portuguese way to say the train in Brazilian Portuguese you will
say, who train? Well to Cao, who is the European Portuguese
way to say the booths. And in Brazilian Portuguese
you would say one e booze gathered the value
means the bathroom or the toilet in
European Portuguese. And Uber means the bathroom or the toilet in
Brazilian Portuguese.
99. 26h - synonyms: Synonyms, synonyms or words
that mean the same thing. E.g. you might call
it a reservation, whereas somebody else
would call it a booking. Reservation and booking
mean the same thing. So they're synonyms. Can I reserve a table for three? Can I book a table for three? Those two questions mean
exactly the same thing, even though we say
reserve in the first one and book in the second one. That's because to reserve
and to book are synonyms. Here are some more examples
of synonyms in English. Job or occupation. Truck, or Laurie. Film or movie. Tv show, or TV program. Shopping, trolley,
or shopping cart. English has lots of synonyms. Portuguese also has
lots of synonyms, and we already saw
one example in the last lesson when we
learned the word for a basket. I said that most of
the time you'll hear my sister for a basket. But that's sometimes
you'll hear people say, Oh my gosh tinea. That's an example of a synonym to words that have
the same meaning. In this lesson, we
learned the word yet, HE for a ticket. But there are actually
a few different ways that you can use in Portuguese. So it'd be the eta means
any sort of ticket. Passage shine on my passage time or my passage in my passage. Ame means a ticket. Only when you're talking
about a ticket used for traveling
somewhere. Ingress. Egress means a ticket when you're talking
about a ticket use to get in somewhere. So that's why I gave you in
blue yet in this lesson, because it can be used as an overall term for
any sort of ticket. My pathogen, as I said, can be used if
you're talking about a ticket for travel
and you can put the same bits on the end as
we did with bill yet, e.g. in my passage, the
EDA or my passage mg, That means a one-way ticket. Or my passage on the, either evolve into my passage in GI di Volta means
a return ticket. Even in English, we have a
synonym in this situation. Some people say a
one-way ticket, and other people say
a single ticket. The word is used to mean a ticket to get in
somewhere, e.g. quanta way when gracile but I presented some way
when restroom. But at present, the sound, how much is the
ticket for the show or ghetto do is in
restaurants, out better? Do is in restaurants. But our Beta, I would like
two tickets for the opera. I just thought I'd
let you know that these alternatives exist because it's a good way to
have some synonyms in your mind for
commonly used words. The chances are
you'll hear or see the words pathogen and ingress just as often as
you will see Bill yet. So it's handy to be aware of them even if you don't
use them yourself. I remember when I was in Lisbon ones early on in my
Portuguese learning journey, I had been taught how to ask
the time using the phrase, good what Ashton, orange sun. Which is the most
commonly used way to ask somebody, what time is it? However, I was walking down a road and somebody said to me, only senza tiny brush,
only senza, Bangladesh. And I had no idea what he meant. I said None and walked off. But he must have thought
I was quite rude since I was clearly
wearing a watch. The question tying or dash. Dash means do you have the time? But I hadn't learned
that back then. So you see, people will use different ways to
say the same thing. And the more you are aware
of those different ways, the better, then you're less likely to get
caught out like I did. On the other hand, I
was so embarrassed that I didn't understand what
the man was asking me, that it made me ask
my Portuguese friend, What does it mean? She explained it. So then I expanded my
Portuguese knowledge. There are actually lots of different ways to ask what
the time is in Portuguese. Go watch some Kourosh, some means, what time is it? Time 0 dash 0. Rash means do you have the time? South Dakota. South Dakota sh sound means do you
know what time it is? The remedies? There are some remedies
or cornerstone. Could you tell me
what time it is? But don't worry about learning
all of those for now. We will be looking
at those different structures in later courses. The more you know, the
easier Portuguese becomes because you can start to spread your knowledge and
vocabulary around. Where did you learn in one topic will easily migrate over to another topic and help you to decide for what people mean
when they're talking to you. So synonyms are a great way to boost your Portuguese
language skills.
