1. Introduction To Productivity : A digital nomad for 12 years now and learn many tips and tricks to stay productive while working with a team. I have improvised couple of frameworks to my advantage that I've been using for years now, I've designed this course in such a way covering all aspects that have practically do it myself. In this course, you will learn how to get your bar, our value that determines your time, money, and energy, how to use urgent, important and time framework. I'll get this into detail because this would be the crux of this course, automating your recurring task, morning and evening routine. That builds happen. What is pomodoro and how you can take advantage of other people. I'm sure budget. I'm a performance market and a tech enthusiasts loves to make video on productivity and workflow automation. Honestly, anything that adds value to your work-life balance and has meaningful topless. My intention with this course is not to make a super productive. Rather, if you go through the course, you might find some of the techniques are frameworks that might add value to your current lifestyle. See you in the course. 2. Set Your Daily Routine: So most people tried to jump right onto their day without a plan or a structure which has a strike zone. And this is how most days end up being unproductive. I was searching for us and for many years procrastinating left, right, and center. But over time, I have learned the magic of daily routine. In this lesson, I will show you my technique that I've optimized for ears and done, it works. So to get into a routine, you need to have a habit. So what is a habit? Habit is an act that is regularly repeated until it is almost involuntary. You do not require that muscle memory anymore. This could be as simple as brushing your teeth, to ask complex as studying for your exams, or maybe getting into a new process and Office and everything could be optimized into a habit. I'll tell you how. The benefits of forming good habits make you more productive and you make more out of a day. At the end of the day you feel accomplished that I have done something. This could be achieved once you have create happen when we have a habit of doing something is less of a challenge to complete it or to accomplish it, and we're more likely to follow through and completed. This can save not only your time and energy, but also will help you achieve your goals. How to get into a habit. Let's discuss this, which is very important and I request your complete attention here. There are primarily three steps that I'm going to tell you with which you can see you start forming your habits. Number one, make a schedule when you want to start a new habit. Make a note of it, write it down onto paper and mind. You also include a specific date by which date you want to get that habit Anu. So this will help your brain to understand. This is a habit that I need to inculcate, and also this will make it easier for you to follow a routine. Find an accountability partner. This is a very powerful way. What I do is let me explain that. Wherever I want to get into a habit, I declare that to all my near and dear friends or Micromedex. That okay. I'm I'm going to do this at once. I start getting into this public declaration with accountability partners. They keep asking, have you accomplish the task? Are you into the habit? So, yeah, once once you'll give that word and the public, you need to do it, right. Find an accountability partner, tell someone close, close to you about the new routine that you are going to inculcate them to check on regular basis if you are following it or not. We, as humans, we always want to look good, right? And once you find an accountability partner, and if they really care about you, they will ask if you are following it or not. And in that way, you will get into a habit. This will keep you motivated. They will also support you when needed. Create a visual reminder. Keep a reminder where you will see every day. That could be anything, maybe a piece of paper, maybe a sticky note, or even the stickies on your, on your desktop or on your laptop. Why not? This will help your motivation high and remind you of why you are working hard for this reason. See you in the next class. 3. Morning Routine: The first thing that I do when I wake up in the morning is make my bed. I fold the sheets and I made sure that I'm making my bed tidy and clean. Once you do your bed nicely, there are a couple of advantages. Let me cite some. Your mind knows that this is the Vicky, Vicky type. Wake up. Number two, you don't have that laziness. Let's say that you have a bad day at office or at work, or maybe at school, you return back home, rough and exhausted. You find a clean bed where you can just hop on and sleep. How cool is that while having tea or coffee? I write down all my to-dos for the day, maybe for the week, and even for the month, and some for the year or the quarter, or some even for some day. Some days are those projects which I really wish to do. But the priority is very low. Let inside an example for someday or kind of fresh exam day, I want to go to Disneyland with my daughter. So yeah, that is an example of someday wish. So I write down all my to-do a diary or on my Apple Loops. This helps me to structure the complete day for that particular day and helps me stay motivated and stay focused on what things to be done. Another key component of my morning routine is to exercise. I made sure that every day I hit the gym or at least do a brisk run. This energizes me and helps clear my mind so that I'm able to approach my day with focus and better purpose. Let me tell you a secret here. I have noticed the days that I don't hit the gym or do not run. I did not feel that energy that anymore endomorphisms doesn't get released and you are into a state of laziness. And I don't want that, as you know, and I'm often helps you to have a good mode. And for staying focus, whether you want to build a productive habits or accomplish a goal, a well-defined morning routine would help you achieve the goal real fast. And believe me in the right plan and support, you'd be able to make a schedule that works for you and optimize your day. For that axis. The technique that I use to write to-dos, it's called Quick Capture. Quick capture is a very powerful technique, which is very simple. If I tell you whatever comes onto my mind, I just put it down onto a paper or onto my to-do app. I use Apple notes because it's fairly simple. This involves writing down anything that comes into mind no matter how small. This helps me to stay organized through out the day and not forgetting things. So if you're looking for more efficient way to capture your ideas and staying organized, consider using quick capture with the right tools and techniques, you can easily set yourself for success and achieve all your goals for quick capture, you can use tools like my note, that I use all the time, even for this course, I'm using my Apple notes to-do list, Google Keep city, city under binder. And if you're old school like me, you can even go for diary. And I'll tell you that is the best way to remember. Don't forget. And you write it down on the paper, this will help you stay on top. The Quick Capture is the best way that you can have in the morning. I give like five to 10 min for quick capture. Making your workspace, again, a very powerful thing. I like to keep my workspace clean and tidy because that gives me a positive bar. If I clean my workspace every day, that helps me being productive and staying more focused. I start by taking all my belongings of my desk. Then I use a microfiber cloth to clean it, clean the edges and corners and then finish by spraying little water. This is just a five-minutes process, but believe me, that this adds create great value while having breakfast, maybe at a tissue. I prioritize all the tasks that I have noted down in Quick Capture, I prioritize the task with a framework called UI that is urgent and important framework that I will discuss in a later section after I prioritize at this point in time, my day is completely structured. I know what to do, how much time to give, what to expect. And of course, if things are not done, what to do then the complete day if anything, unexpected turns up. I again take help of a UI framework and structure that they were the priority. In the next lesson, I will tell you power of minimalism and how it has helped me. 4. Less Is More - Minimalism: Less as more. That is minimalism. Minimalism is all about paring down the positions with what you really need. That uncluttered lifestyle where you only have those things which really matters to you. While at first glance, it might seem such a waste of time, but believe me, once you start utilizing it, I'm not saying 100%, but maybe a bit of it, you will start seeing the benefits of it. I have removed all the unnecessary things from my cupboard or from my workspace, or for my room for that matter. This way, I can focus on what I really need and what I really want. In this way. I really get what I want and my mind doesn't get distracted, but unnecessary things. Number one thing where I've used minimalism is on my workspace, I have removed all the unnecessary clutter from my desktop and I just use the things that I really need. Let me show you what I have at the moment while recording this video. Okay. I don't know if you are able to see it at the moment. Liquid ammonia. At the moment on my desk. I just have the two setup. Flowerpot, but my glasses handle, that asset, keyboard and the mouse, nothing else. So the thing that really matters to me, I have placed just those things onto my desktop. And this has helped me immensely and my mind doesn't get deviated or distracted for unnecessary. Thanks. How cool is that? Get into good technology? Like I'm using, I use to computers. What is Mac and another SPC. My pain point was having to keyboards to mouse. So what I've done is I've invested on technology and I bought this guy. This is Logitech MX, bro, I'm X3. This guy can connect both my PC and my Mac. And I can copy from my PC to Mac and from my Mac or PC. So again, this kind of technology helps you into minimalism and also improves the productivity. Because earlier, if I had to copy something from my PC to my, to my Mac, I had to get either get into an USB, copy that from that PC and then get onto the mat. And of course, if the versions are not same again, I have to do something. Of course, nowadays you do have cloud. But for Cloud you need to have, again internet. But for this guy who don't require similarly the keyboard, I'm using just a single keyboard for both of my device. And with the power of logic flow, I'm able to accomplish these things. These are immensely powerful, so invest in good technology that helps you in productivity. And also It's kind of minimalistic and you get the most out of the listing. Again, a great example of minimalism, just how Apple products are. Another great example is dual monitor set up. Having two monitors allows you to keep multiple windows open at same time. I'm not a great fan of multitasking. You're completing a task at a given point in time and doing only one thing in a best possible way. The same approach that the Apple does, of course I'm Apple fact, but these tiny changes you would hit Create productivity in no time. See you in the next lesson. 5. POMODORO for Deep Focus Work: Pomodoro is the best technique that I always use when I want to do defocus were Pomodoro is a Japanese method where you walk for 30 min and take five-minutes, break this five-minutes, you can do anything except screen time, meaning you can do anything and everything except watching TV or no, by checking that iPad, anything where where you're not looking into any kind of screen. You can take a walk, you can go for a coffee. It is believed that if you're able to complete six to eight pomodoros in a day. That is effectively like three to 4 h of work. That is equivalent of 12 to 14 h of work. C'mon. Can you beat it? How to take advantage of pomodoro? The first thing's first, while you are hitting Pomodoro, make sure that you are putting everything on D and D. That is not disturb mode. Let that be on mobile, on your laptop. Maybe our species ask you or your friends and family not to disturb you and confine yourself into a roadkill. You will work neck or any five-minutes, particularly on a deep thing. And you're just going to do only on, on that particular single thing. That is how Pomodoro works. It's very, very powerful tool that one can have. So how do you start Pomodoro? Like you can have vibe. There are many Pomodoro timers that, that are available on Amazon or else you can use your mobile or timer as well, which shrinks after, after very five-minutes. Right? So I use the timer on my mobile phone and believe me, this has increased my productivity for false. Give it a try. So how do you do Pomodoro? What are the steps? What are the basic steps of powder? So choose a task to walk on, set a timer for 25 min, work on that task until the timer goes off. And mentally, you have to think that within this 25 min, I have to complete this task by hook or crook. Ilo, I might sound like cheesy, but believe me, this works. Then take a five-minute break. As I've said, in this break, you can do anything except screen time. You cannot watch your mobile phone or your tablet or your elevation. Steps two to 42 more times for a total of three promo, pomodoros. After the fourth Pomodoro, take a longer break, maybe of 15 to 30 min? Yes, you can do that. Please let me know once you start doing it in the project section, if this has helped you, like, you can make a small video showing you how you do the Pomodoro and how it has helped you. I'm really glad to see the results that you're going to generate and develop for yourself. While doing pomodoros. Initially, you might feel to leave it. We are human being. That has happened to me, done and dusted. But make sure that you're mindful, that you need to complete that task once you start doing it, like within that allocated 25 min, let's say that if you are able to complete a task, that is a reward for your brain, for your mind that I've completed a task. So you start developing a belief system for Pomodoro. I know at ago you cannot have four to six or six to eight pomodoros in a day. So make sure that you are doing Pomodoro on a regular basis. Take breaks as prescribed. Do not go that I need to work 30 min. I'll take more 5 min to complete the task. If the task is not completed, that is fine. That is okay. Let it go. That's okay. Let their pass. Alright, but take that break. That break is important because it is a disconnect from your current work, took something else and that five-minute break is a treat for your mind as well. Okay. So yeah, these are a couple of suggestions that I can give for pomodoros. 6. Dealing With Distractions: Distractions or productivity killers. We all know that, but many of us don't know how destructive it can be if it, if we do not realize it. But let me tell you one more thing. Distractions could also help you stick onto this lesson to know how to use distractions to our advantage, I study by the University of California on that an average worker is interrupted every 11 min and it takes an average of 23 min to get back to the track that what he was doing that been in industry. This is a study that I'm discussing, right? And that's a lot of time wasted. And it's not just the amount of time loss, but it's also the quality of the work that suffers. A study by Microsoft has found that while a person gets interrupted multiple times, it doesn't only take much more time to complete the task. The worker also tends to make more of mistakes. So this is distractions. In other words, how do you deal with distractions? Distractions are everywhere. We, as human beings are bound to get into distractions. I will tell you top two tricks that I use. Number one, use distractions as a signal to upgrade. If you notice that you are getting distracted every ten to 15 min or so, it might be sign that you need a break, your body needs a break. Respect that, and take a break. Use that distraction as an excuse to take a break, walk around, have some water, go get a coffee. As a cue to move on to the next task. If you have lot of to-dos, use distractions as a cue to move on to the next task. That way, you need not remember what to do next. Distractions can be a cue to take a break to get to the next task, but they can also be a cue to procrastinate. So make sure that you are not in that site. Procrastination can also be caused by distractions. If you're getting distracted a lot, it might be, it might be because you are not interested. So how do you deal with it? In order to overcome destructions and procrastination, you need to find ways to stay focused. Here are a few tips that I use. Set deadlines for yourself. Yes, and it's powerful, remove distractions from your environment. Remember, in my previous lecture I talked about minimalism. That is what it is. Instead a rule that you can only work for certain time and then you will take a break. Remember, I talked about Pomodoro. If you're not check that lesson, please go and check that less. Work on one task at a time, single task at a time. What are the best things about distraction is that most people are easily distracted. So if you can focus on work and tune out distractions, you will be the minority. So keeping that in mind, let's deal distractions like a pro 7. Urgent Important Framework: Urgent important framework. This is the framework that has changed my life. And let me tell you how this framework is based on the idea that there are only two types of tasks that is urgent and important. I will explain you practically how to do it. And there would be a project here after that you need to complete. If you want to take advantage of this course, you should complete this project focusing on urgent and important tasks. You can eliminate the distractions that you have everyday. Urgent important framework consists of four steps. Determine which tasks are urgent and important based on factors like importance to your goal or consequences. If the task is not complete, prioritize these urgent and important task but into predetermined set of criteria, schedule time for your urgent and important tasks on a regular basis. This can be done using a task management tool like to digest or Notion, calendar or wrapper any project management app like infinity. Number four, make sure to stay focused while you're on urgent and important timeframe. And if you are able to combine this with Pomodoro, there is nothing like it. Now, I will get onto the screen and I will show you how to add practically do urgent and important. Here, I'll give you a sheet where you have to complete this project. I'll tell you in the next lesson what will be the project here in this sample, I have put some of the urgent important tasks. So whatever tasks that you have right from morning to time that you wake up to evening, the time that you're asleep. Put everything here, Let's say task. When is it important? What? Yes. Is it urgent? But it is important. Maybe not. Task2, is it urgent? Know, is it important? Maybe not. Or yes, whatever it is, you can just put it. And accordingly in this box you will get the pump. Now let me this, you have to complete and I'll give you that project in the next lesson. And now let us understand why this urgent and important framework is important. Let's get onto my mind note. Let's see here. Let's say that if the task is urgent and S is important, you do it now. Right now. Right? If the task is not urgent and not important, schedule it for later date. Now, let's see. If it is not urgent and not important. You can either safely deleted or can save it for maybe for future. If, if you wanted to put it in your bucket list, you can do that. If it is not urgent and neither important. In that case, you can delete it safely, save it in your bucket list. That is your wish. And the fourth situation is, is it urgent? Yes. And is it important to know, in this case, you can delegate this task either to your employees or to your teammates, or if you are an entrepreneur or a freelance, or you can also freelancer. And the pay the money. Right? This framework, while I was introduced to this framework, I was blown away. I was like, ****, this is the thing that I was missing. And I'm so glad that I have started using this. And this has helped me immensely. It's a great thing that I've done. And this framework has given me new possibilities. After the project, I'll give you another mind-blowing concept and that will give you a break through. And I promise I won't do it. It is an addition to UI framework. And once I have got introduced to that framework, I was like mad. So let's do the project team. 8. Class Project Urgent Important Framework: So people, you have to complete this task for next ten days. That is your project and make sure that you are completing at diligently. I have given all the instructions how to do it, like every day for next ten days, and document every hour of your working day. Alright? Every hour, write down the tasks that you have accomplished, that you are able to complete the majority task if you did multiple tasks and classify them as urgent and important tasks. The definition of urgent and important as yours. It's very personal. For me. I can I can define it the way that I want. It is on you that how you define what is important for you and what does urgent for you? I can not define that for you. You have to do it yourself. Alright? As you fill up the day, the matrix on the right-hand side will automatically fill up. I'm talking about this here, okay? And this will tell you where you're spending most of your time, energy, and money. So please do it diligently and with all truthfulness. For next ten days. You will see a major, major difference. At the end of the day, write down if you felt happy with your day or not. There's also exam. This is also important. You have to have that latitude. Let that be good or bad, that I understand. But make sure that if you are happy, please put it down. Okay. I was able to complete my task and I feel accomplished about it. Okay. Something like that. And the sample sheet will show you how it works. The end of ten days, the aim is to build an hypothesis that what are the things which are important for you and what are the things which are urgent for you? Alright? Please complete this task for next ten days and come back and put it here in the project section. This will help you. Why am I asking you to put it here? Once you declare that what you have done, that helps you mentally have a distinction for yourself. So make sure that you do it. I'm there to support you all the best. 9. Urgent Important Time Framework Angle: Urgent, important and time taken framework. This is a small addition, however, that time is a pocket size bomb that you can ever have and you will thank me later that we have introduced this. However, this is not my original idea. This I got introduced by a great entrepreneur here and India called vertical and he introduced a fantastic angle with time. The time angle. Now, I can also measure what is the time taken for a particular task that could be estimated or could be done. Odd. What is the time allotment that I can do for a particular task? Of course, the urgent important timeframe lets me know or let me prioritize the things that I need to put it on my to-do list or on the quick capture. However, the time angle gives a new definition altogether. If I were to give you an example, I want to go and meet my friend. Alright. Meeting a friend. Is it urgent? Yeah. Maybe he has met with an accident. So it is urgent? Yes. Is it important? Of course, yes. He met with an accident. How much time would it take? It would take 34, 30 min for me to teach them and maybe one more. Are the spend time. Do you see the power of it? Now, I know that within one or 1.5 to 2 h, I have a lot at the time. This could be used in almost every possible. Adding time to the urgent. Important framework can help you better understand how much time to allocate for a particular task or what could be the estimated time. See how powerful it is. Whether you're working on a project or simply trying to juggle between responsibilities are using the urgent important framework along with time angle, will give you immense power overall, using all three angles of the urgent important framework. That is importance. Urgency and timeframe can help you better plan your day, plan your projects priorities, the things those are really important for you. And now, since the time angle is introduced, now you know how much time to be invested on a particular task and how to invest it. Alright, whether you're working on a project or simply trying to manage. Thanks. This framework is going to work for you. Give it a try and let me know here in the project section if this has helped, you, tried for next ten days along with the previous projects that have given you the next lesson I'm going to take, I'm going to introduce you to a new thing called What is the part our value of yourself. See you in the next lesson. 10. Calculate your per hour rate: Calculate your butt, our trade. One important aspect, one important aspect. One important aspect is to determine your hourly rate. And how do you do that? I will help you. Let's see how to arrive to this fundamental thing. How much does your, our cost really to you? How much does your our cost? It's a total. The total income by num. It's the total income that you earn by number of hours you work. E.g. let's say that I worked for two days and two 8 h. Okay? And my income is, let's say 100,000. So let us calculate this. Let me pull up the calculator here. And now we're going to calculate. So this would be the total income that is hundred thousand divided by 22. I'm sorry. First you have to calculate when a 2.8. So that is like 170 6 h. And then you have to take your complete earnings for the month, lettuce, 100000/176. That comes around 568. So mine, but our value here is 568. Let's say rupees for our AC understanding. Alright, see, once I was introduced to this, I was like, **** my bar or caused this much. So I'm using the UI and time framework. I have started to analyze the things now. Things have started rolling out and fight off me that okay, if within this, if I'm spending my 1 h, if I am able to am I able to get rs568 in this one, our head with the help of a UI and time-frame work. Either I assign it. As I've said. If I'm not able to do it, if I don't get five-sixteenths in that 1 h, I will assign it, or I will delegate it. Or maybe I'll freelancer or put it in my someday bucket list. Again, with this per hour, you should not put your family time. Because again, I believe that is that is not measured by money. You could also give some tentative figure that you feel, feel like you earn in the future. So you can be in the future. And if you feel like, you know, you can make let's say you're per hour rate is rs5,000. So the decision-making ability, after you know, what is your per hour, what would be different?
