20 Days Of Boats , Reflections & Water - A Watercolor Voyage

1. Introduction: Painting boats and water. Three years back was a dream for me. I made that little dream of mine into reality. And I have failed many times. It's, as they say, failure teaches you more than anything else. Here. Sharing everything about this special intriguing subject of boat. Do my learnings and experiences. This subject can be intimidating for a lot of us, especially for a beginner. And I'm here to make it less scary subject and more of a joyous little experience. I'm going to keep teaching the boats for the coming 20 days. Right here on Skillshare. One book a day. Hi, I'm Socrates. Watercolor artist and teacher. Come along. Let's start this journey together. 2. Art Supplies: Let us discuss all the supplies that we need for the stringent echoes. What the papers I have always used, Fabriano, 100 percent 300 GSM paper. I purchase them in roles and I cut them up in the desired sizes that I need. And I only ever use these water brushes for almost all my paintings. And the first one is pretty strong number for mom brush. I use this for initial washes and it has a good tip. So I can sometimes use it further detailing as well. And the next TO our aside time, number four and number 1 brushes. I use them to paint the smallest objects. And this is a DAG number two synthetic brush. It has a very, very good and sharp tip. So I use it for detailing. Using many brands of Dupain's in this class projects, White Nights, Centralia, Danielle Smith, and a few are those. So I will discuss about the exact colors in each chapter. So that's it. You can find the details of the paint as we proceed with the class projects. You will need a palette. Of course, I'm using the ceramic one, but you can use a plastic palette as well. And to glass jazz. For water. One glass jar is to clean the paint off the brush and the udder to wet the brush. But I always forget it and I will dirty both the jazz. So I might need some practice domains. These two jazz and masking depth. Of course, this is two inch masking tape. You can use a one-inch as well. And tissue papers are very important. And believe me, I have learned the lesson. So I'll just keep the dishes ready. And I think that's it. I think I'm forgetting one thing that is, these flowers. You can use them for gladly. Any flowers that you wish. I think that's it for that supplies video. Thank you for watching. Will mourn to the class project. 3. Class Project - 1: Let's start with our first class project. This is a very simple board scape. You can consider this as a warm-up exercise. And I am using one of my previous board landscapes as a reference to paint this one. So I'm gonna take similar colors, but I think I'll probably dark in the background. It's quite reddish orange. And I'm going to keep the boat the same color. And we're going to paint only one board instead of two. Just because this is a first-class project. And in the coming landscapes, we're going to paint all kinds of boats, even 123 in a single landscapes. So don't worry. Let's just go simple today. And I'm starting with the sketch. I'm sketching the simple rowing boat today. Boats come in all sizes and shapes. We're going to paint the most common one. That is, the longer on one side and shorter on the other side. And the beauty of the boat landscape lies in painting. Pilings and other stuff that you see laying on the water. Taking inspiration from the reference, I am painting three pilings today. Sludge and the other two are quite small ones. Let me just correct this drawing of the board. Just a minute. I'm sketching the pilings parallel to the boat. And if you remember, our lakes and Reflections class, I've told you the reflection should be. Exactly the same as the above subjects, but lighter in color. So I'm just lightly sketching the reflections as well. The reflections of the boat as well. But make sure the edges match. This is what I mean by painting the reflection similar to the above subjects. They should match in the proportions. Add few more things that usually we see floating around on the lake. And at the end, please pause this video and take a screenshot if you wish. For, you know, better sketching. Like I said, I'm going to change background. I will not paint this brick red color, but bots, I will paint the same color, turquoise, green, and red at age. So let's just take our pains. So these are all the colors that we're going to be using for today's class project. So according to the reference, we're going to need a red color for the background. But like I said, I'm going to change the background to somewhat darker color than the brick red. So I'm going to use Alizarin crimson mixed with indigo. It sort of gives like dark chocolate, chocolate, purple color. I'm going to swatch that color out for you. But these two colors will be used for the background. And for the boat. I'm going to use a DACA is color yellow, blue from Daniel Smith. And talk eye's color from Turnus brand. Oops, Turner's brand, it is. And indigo. I'm going to mix a red as well. Just a little bit. At the beginning of the boat, you not to give that a dark shadowy appearance. And pines gray to paint the reflections. And I'm going to use indigo as well, you know, to give that bluish shadow are bluish reflection color like I've used in the reference picture. And I'm going to keep this paints on my palette and I'll come back to swatch this out for you guys. I have taken these colors on my palette. Now we're going to swatch this colors and see how they look. I want to mainly see the red, that is alizarin crimson mixed with indigo. And don't forget to keep the tissues nearby. So let's start with the most anticipated color. I actually don't know what the color will look like if it is mixed with indigo. Because last time I just used, I mean, for the reference, a painting, I just mixed the odds are in crimson with I think so tallow blue. Okay. I think I guess to try it, It's looking somewhat like chocolate deep purple color. If few. How some other colonial mine. To try out? Please go ahead. If you think this color looks great, then you can go ahead with this color too. Now I'm going to swatch other colors as well. So these are all the colors that we're going to be using today. By all means, if you think you have a good color combinations in your mind, you can try them out. First step starts now. Wet the paper with clean water and wet it evenly. I'm using my number 4 breast trauma brush. It is especially for the washes. And make sure you are not and make sure you're not touching the bokeh. It's going to be quite difficult to not let the let the water run into the boat. But if you have a sharp brush, you can manage this. Like I said, wet the paper evenly and do not let the pardon so forth. Stay on the paper. If you see one, make sure you are going to even it out with your brush. Now, I'm going to mix alizarin crimson with indigo. And I'm going to get that in a chocolatey papilla. It's going to look great. I think so. Make a clean wash of whatever the color you choose for the background. Make sure the color is not touching the boat. It can touch study flexion of the boat. It can touch the pilings, but not the boat. Just going to add one more layer. I'll ask color at the bottom of the beam pi, you know, it's going to look darker at the edge if you observe the photographs. Now if you find any uneven surfaces, even them out with your brush and keep this for drying. And I'll come back once it's dried. If it is wide, but it's dried. So we can proceed. Take my trusty Number 4 round brush and I will start painting the boat now. Now quite a few layers involved in painting the board. So first layer is stock IS color. In watercolor always go from light color to the dark color. I'm leaving a white line on the top and we're going to need it for detailing later. Let us proceed with the first layer of painting, tacos club. While the paper is still wet, I'm going to add Alizarin crimson mixed with indigo. That is the same color we used for the background. And I'm going to apply that color at the front side of the boat. This is the part where the shadows gum. And we need to add several layers to complete the board. You know, just to show that boat is in 3D and not just in plain 2D. There is also a trick here. Do not apply in even dawns. The more uneven, the more realistic that it looks. And reapply as much as you want until you feel the boat is really looking very realistic. It's looking good enough. So I'm going to leave it as a days and I will proceed to paint pilings. You taking my number one small brush to add the pilings and I'm using pines gray color, paint the pilings one-by-one. And later, we're going to start adding the reflections. And it's my favorite part. Cookie, I don't know when right at this point, I have injured my hand. Hand. It was bleeding just a little bit. Going on. I'm taking pines gray and I'm using my number four round brush and I'll start adding the reflections. Like we had discussed in our legs and Reflections class. There are three types of reflections. And now I'm going fall semi detail deflection. It's not at all difficult. Just follow my brush movement and a white painting, the middle reflection. So mirror reflection is when the reflection is exactly same as the subject. But here we are going for the semi detailed one. That is the size will be same, but not the exact shape. In all. Next class project vote will be semi detail reflections. I used a mix of Payne's gray and indigo to paint the reflections. So astronaut, not too dark. As you can see, I'm leaving those white gaps in middle of reflections. So like I said, it's not Miro, It's semi detail. Now, I'm going to add the semi detail, the reflection of the filing as well, one by one. Here for the pilings exactly. We are going for the lighter reflections. So the reflection should be lighter than the pilings above. So I'm taking light indigo color. Okay, It's not exactly light indigo. But I have a trick to make this right. Just hold on. After adding the reflections, just take a tissue and dab on the paint and it removes the excess color and you get the lighter reflection. Same goes for the next filing as well. And same for the random things on the lake. Using a synthetic brush, I'm gonna draw two dark color lines in between that whitespace. I'm using pines gray. It shows the edge of the boat. And it also use some kind of shadow effect. Now I'm going to just splatter some fans gripping onto the paper and add some random things on the lake. Because I'm thinking this is looking plane. Hi. At this point I thought I was done and started to remove the tape. After removing one side of the day, I remember I forgot to add something. That is this tiny rope here and there. And there are 23 roofs that I'm going to add on both the sides, you know, because that's how the votes look at the lakes. And of course the reflections. This can go on for forever. You need to know when to stop. Apparently, I don't know. Okay. This is the first class project and I can't wait to explore the boat subject with you guys for the next 19 days. And I hope you are too. See you in the next class project. And thank you for watching. 4. Class Project - 2: Hello guys, welcome back. Class project 2. And yeah, I'm taping down, might be, but in a different matter today. This is a great way to keep your paper wet for a longer period of times. Try this method and it will never go back. There is something called a double-sided Dave, if you have it, you can use that as well. And of course, if you are not comfortable, you don't have to try this method. And let's get started with sketching. Today, we're going to paint a little complicated than the previous class project. One. I'm going to tell you guys an easy hack first sketching complicated subjects. If you find it difficult to sketch, then use something called point method. And yes, I invented the method. So first, put dots on where you think what are the subjects that you are painting should be. And then join those points together. And there you have it, ER, complicated sketch met it in a completely easiest to matter. And I'm secretly using that method here as well, but I did not exactly put the points on the paper. I kept them in my mind. When you practice the pined mattered in sketching for a long time. You don't even have to put those points on the paper anymore. You can just know where the edges of the subjects will be. There. Today we are painting a simple fishing boat. And don't forget to add the filings. I'm going to go with two pilings for today's boat. Reflections as well. And one tradition that I would give in sketching the reflections is draw them a bit darker because once the water is painted, it is usually in blue color are dark colors, whatever. So once the water is painted, the sketching will not be visible if it is light. I think we are done with the sketching for today's boat. And I'm going to start with painting the first layer now. Have Java is blue and orange bands piano. I'm going to use these three colors for painting the boat. I was thinking orange and burnt sienna for the body, and blue for in our day edges and Prussian blue for the water. And instead of find scree to paint the pilings, I'm going to use burnt sienna. And it's going to give you a natural realistic look. Let's get started with the first layer. I'm going to use my restaurant mop brush for the first wash. And like we have discussed before in class project one, do not let the board know that the surface evenly. Do not let the bottles of water stay on the paper. Today, I'm gonna be using Prussian blue to paint the water. Act with the lightest shade of the Prussian blue. And as you move downwards, make the color darker. Make sure you're not coloring the boat into blue color. Now, I'm increasing the intensity of the color. That is, I'm taking more pigment and less water. Like I said, as we move downwards, the color will get darker. And this is it for the first Background layer of water. And I'm going to keep this for drying. I'm incomplete drying before we try on the board and I'll come back once it's dried. Completely dried. And I'm taking my number 2 round brush to paint the boat and yeah, keep their tissues ready. I'm taking a mix of orange and burnt sienna to paint the boat. And let the paint get out of the edges of the sketch. Paint very carefully. So once the first layer is added, while the paper is still wet, take orange mixed with the indigo. It sort of gives like a chocolatey brownish color and paint only the first half of the boat. As we have been dead, like the first layer is still wet. It's so tough, getting blended together. As you can see, the dark and the light colors. I'm adding orange color inside the boat. Also using the chocolatey brown color that we got from mixing indigo and orange on top of the first layer. You know, it sort of feels like a blended look. Instead of a plain, single color. We're going to let this for drying. And after it dried, we're going to proceed to the next. Step here. I'm using orange color. Orange light orange instead of chocolaty brown color. And I'm going to just add one swipe of the pain. So now I'm gonna keep this whole drying before I start painting the blue color borders. So since borders are in-between these orange colors and chocolaty brown colors, your paper should be completely dried. So, yeah, I'll come back once it's dried. Prussian blue Docker is blue. To get that beautiful bluish color like you see in the evening sky. Lab. Those white lines with this blue color. I'm using my number line, a brush. It's better to use a small brush for this because the lines are thin. There is only one white space left on the board now. And I'm using the lightest shade of blue to paint that. And just a little bit of brownish color. I'm just adding a small details, like few lines over the boat using Prussian blue. And my smallest number one brush. It's time to start with the reflections. So I'm using the same colors of the boat to paint the reflections. That is orange mixed with the burnt sienna. First. Just a little bit of chocolaty brown color that we got by mixing orange and indigo at the edge of the boat. You can already see it's looking realistic, right? Do not draw the straight lines for the reflections. Draw them in quite uncertain way because it's in the water and water. The reflections will not be mirroring in the water, like we have discussed in class project one. And at the borders. After reflection part, I am adding blue color because there are blue lines in the subject or damages. So tough. Blend those two colors together. Brown color and blue color. This in the blue color. Again, I'm going to draw those in all lovely lines with a small brush using the same shade of blue or draw their reflections of the filings. As you can see, I'm drawing them in quite an uncertain way. Hold your brush very lightly and just move it along. And it's easier to paint these reflections that way. Then goes for the second violin as well. Like I said, I'm going to be using burnt sienna to paint the pilings and stood off. Like we have done in class project one. It's time to splatter some paint. I'm using Prussian blue mixed with indigo paint splatter. And I'm going to be painting a few random things with reflections on the lake, just like I showed in class project one. And I hope you liked this class project do. This is in no way regarded as an advanced boat scape. We're gonna get there in the next 18 days. So yeah. Are you ready for the class project three and it's going to be up tomorrow. Thank you for watching. 5. Class Project - 3: Hello, welcome to the class project 3. And believe it's already been three days. Yeah. I'm taping down my paper like I did yesterday. It really helps me keeping the paper wet for a longer period of time. Just me on this guys. You have to try it out. Let's start by sketching. Today's boat is going to be a step up from previous projects. Like I said, I will guide you gently and one step and day. So here we are. The step-up is drawing the boat in a different shape in an angle where you can see the back edge as well. The previous two class projects who are more like in a 2D. But this one is kind of like 3D, but not completely. And we'll get there in our coming class projects. This is the main body of the boat. If you want, you can take a screenshot and complete this one. Now I'm going to add few things to the boat. Please draw the reflections a bit darker. We tell pencil, because once you paint the water that will be in blue color, this reflection will be invisible. I'm going to sketch the pilings and the reflections are going to be done with the sketching then fascia screen. Take a screenshot and complete the sketching. Link to the colors. I have four colors here. They all look alike, but they're not. These are white knight bands. This is a 0 blue. I'm going to use it to paint the water. Indigo to paint the reflections. Takeaways and indigo together to paint the board. And burnt sienna to paint the edges on the boat. After sorting out our pains, we will begin by wetting the paper with clean water. And I'm using my mop brush here. But astronomer for and make sure you're not reading the boat. It has to be remained dry. It evenly distributed the water throughout the paper. There should not be any puddles of water remaining on the paper. Making, as they're blue. Like previous class projects, the top part will be light color. As we come down, the color gets darker. Let me just write down the edges of the paper with my tissue. There is some water there. And if you did not clean it out, the water will flow back down and your paper will be kind of blotchy. Leaving the boat, paint the entire paper with azure blue color. As we come down, the intensity of the color is increasing. That means I am taking more color and less water, trying to paint more views at the edge of the paper. This is also a step up from the previous class projects where the background is kind of plane. So I'm mixing azure blue here with indigo to increase that intensity. Since this is watercolor, this color will dry down two to three shades lighter. So I'm just increasing the color intensity so that at least I'm going to get 20 percent of these ripples after the paper is dry it now I'm going to keep this for drying and I'll come back once it's completely dried and it's dry it on right. But you can see there are blockages that happen because the water has flowed back and I forgot to wipe them out with the tissue. And also, you can see how light the color has become. And it's sort of common in watercolor. You just have to paint a couple of shades darker than you intend to. I'm going to take burnt sienna now and I'm going to paint the edges of the board using my number 2 round brush for this. You can use any brush that you wish to make sure that it says it's an, a smaller size. But he carefully paint all the edges. The colors should not be coming out of those borders that we have painter with the pencil. And I'm going to keep this her drying. And I'll come back once it's completely dried because we're going to paint the body of the board now with turquoise color. And I don't want them to be mixing together these two colors, burnt sienna and a truck wise. Now that the CNI is Dr, I'm taking talk eyes mixed with the indigo to paint the boat body of the boat. Like we have been taught in class project one. The first half of the boat should be in Dhaka color and the second half should be in lighter shade. In on just to show that in a 3D structure, the first byte will be covered in the shadows. I'm using more water at the second half of the boat in order to make it lighter. Now more indigo at the first half of the boat drying. And while it is drying, I'm going to just pick the lightest shade of indigo and alpine inside after boat. I think probably this is the most easiest part of the painting, just a few strokes of paint. The body of the vote is almost drying. So we're going to get started with the reflections. I'm using the same number two brush and I'm using indigo to paint the reflections. Like we have discussed before. We are going for a semi detailed reflections and not a mirror reflection. So just follow the pencil sketch we have drawn before. And I'm also using a bit of turquoise. Instead of just using indigo. Let me take a smaller brush to paint those wiggly lines at the reflection spot. This is also a step up from the previous projects. Here, the water is more detailed. That means we're going to add more repulse small ripples with our small brush. And I'm using indigo for this. Just hold your brush very lightly and move your hand. And that cleared these blues and tinge ripples. Like I said, I'm going for a more detailed water instead of just plain water that we have seen in Project 1 and 2. I just want to make one more detail. On the board. I'm using darkest indigo and a very thin brush, and I'm just going to draw a line between these two colors. It further separates the two color and also gives the illusion of a shadow. And Muslim gut. And we're going to take sienna and I will complete this right detail here. I'm just going to add burnt sienna here. Now, we're going to go for the filings. So I'm using indigo and my thin number one brush. Let me just state the same color and finish with the paddles I have. Here. I'm having the difficulty to paint straight lines because I have a camera here and I can't see. So anyway, I'm taking the light shade of indigo, lighter than before. And we're going to get started with the reflections of both these paddles and by links. We have discussed in class project. If you think you had taken a darkest shade for the reflections, you can always lighten it by using a tissue paper, just like I'm doing right here. In goes. But the last two piling reflection as well. And with my thin brush, I'm gonna just dry it rope here. I always forget this step. After some paint. And for splattering, I'm using indigo color with a tin number one brush. I'm so happy that you guys are liking this class projects. And I'm getting so many messages. Thank you so much. And I'm gonna see you guys in the next class project. That is tomorrow. Happy painting. And thank you for watching. 6. Class Project - 4: Hello guys. Welcome to Class Project 4. Since I'm started painting boat, that is this one particular boat scale that I have been requested to make a tutorial law. It is this particular whiteboard scape. So this was particularly a sailing boat. But today we're going to skip that and we will paint only the boat reflections and water, of course. So we are going to be using only one color. It's going to be interesting. And let's get started. I have been getting a few messages saying that this type of taping down the paper method is actually really good and it holds the water well as well. So if you are not still trying it out, I suggest you do today because we're going to be needing the wet paper for a long time. And today we are going to be needing only one color, and it's my favorite indigo. Let's get started with the first step, sketching. This is a simple fishing boat with no accessories hanging from it. I think at this point, we have enough practice to paint one of these easily. It's not. There is always the point matter that we have discussed in class project. If you haven't seen it yet, please go ahead and check out the class project too. But it is very effective. Trust me, this will not be completely a whiteboard. There will be blue stripes. Alternatively, and I am marking them with the pencil. I'm invade the blue should come. Because in the latter part, I think it's just me. I'll get confused where to paint the blue are where to leave it alone. Now is the time to sketch the reflections, like all of our previous class projects, this one will be a semi detail one as well. In this class project for the water is going to be wild. So to make a mess, as much messy as you want. I'm going to sketch a few polls and pilings and light we have always done in our previous class projects is just a simple process, but I'm using the scale here. I think it makes things easier. I can't draw straight lines my hands unless seem shaky. Sketching took a long time, right? But we are done with the sketching. Now let's move on to painting the first layer. I'm just wetting the paper with clean water and clean brush as usual. And of course I'm using my trusty Number 4, strawman brush. Unlike the previous class projects in this one also, we are not writing the boat and except the boat where the paper completely and evenly. So the top part of the paper should be in light color. As we move down, the colored gets darker. So today I'm using indigo. And since we need the light color, I'm using the light shade of indigo and more water to the paint. And you will get the lightest color. And when you add less water, you will get the dark color. Since we are moving down, I'm taking more pigment and less water, but I'm using the same color, that is indigo. Like I said, we are going wild with the water in this class project. So I'm taking dark shade of indigo and I will try to draw some males. Please make sure your paper is wet while you're painting these views. The verse should be blended with the background. It's only possible when the paper is wet. Not done yet. I'm taking small number 1 brush to add detail views. And my paper is still wet here. Like look great here. But I'm sure this will dry down two shades lighter. But what can we do? This is watercolor and this is how it is. And I actually took the darkish to shade possible, but still it's dried two shades data. And that's what we signed up for. I'm taking number 2, round brush and indigo. And I'm starting to paint the blue stripes on the board that we have, you know, market before with the pencil. You stripes are not drawn in a straight line, but I will adjust it with a small number of brush later. The small number brush will have a sharp point, so it's easier for me to draw straight lines. I agree discussed there'll be true stripes of blue color and the boat, and this is the second last one. I'm going to adjust the straight lines. I will draw a few extra lines as well with my synthetic number one brush. Once we're done with that, it's time to add some details to the boat. And I'm just using Indiegogo. I'm trying to show how the light is falling on the boat. It is darker on the top part and a lighter at the bottom. It's stuck inside part of the boat. And we are going to just take it slow and easy this time. As we go further along the projects, I'm going to paint these in detail. So for now, this is enough and it's easier as well. Now is the time to add the reflections. I think this is everyone's favorite bad in painting a boat. Using dark shade of indigo. And my number four round brush to paint these reflections. But later, I'm going to change it to number one brush to add those in all wiggly lines of deflections. And now it's time to add those wiggly lines of reflections all over the paper except at the book. Of course. And like I said, we are going to go wild with the water. So I'm going to add those lines on these views also. All over the paper. I think now the water is looking kind of realistic. Now let me add the reflections of this pilings with my number one brush and indigo. Faint. These do not hold your brush tightly. Just let it down with the paper. I'm going to paint a few rocks and the reflections as well with the same brush and indigo. It's time to paint those pilings. I'm still using the same brush and the same pain. Hi. I'm painting those on the board now. And I'm using the same brush and the paint. Don't forget to add the reflections of those poles too. It's almost complete, but I still feel it's incomplete. So I'm going to add a few rocks and the deflections and splatter some paint. And I'm going to just lightly brush the light color over these white gaps just to make it look complete. Incomplete. And I like how this turned out. I hope you like it to see you in the next class project. And thank you for watching. 7. Class Project - 5: You guys, are you ready for class project file? Okay, then let's start by taping down on paper. And let's begin our sketching. Today. It's going to be a simple fishing boat. A valid this boat is quite different in shape than our previous class projects boat. So I hope you like this one. I used one of my previous books skips as a reference for this one, for the book, in particular. Sketching the reflections now. And now it's pilings time. I'm going to draw three of them. So I'm going to be using tallow and indigo. And somewhere in-between, I just wanted to mix with blue. It's important to keep the tissues ready. I have taken the paint on my palette. Well, all this dust from the eraser. So I'm just gonna. The table clean. Let's begin by wetting the paper with clean water. And as always, leave the bottom alone. Do not let the water touch the sketch after boat. So my idea is the light color here. Among us, the tallow tacos and indigo is tallow takeaways. So I'm going to start with Tyler takeaways from the top. And as I come down, I'm going to darken the color using the indigo. Let's start by using tallow turquoise mixed slightly with dark eyes blue. And of course, glue the boat alone. Like I said, as we move down naught, we're going to darken the color. So here I'm using a shade, darker, Abdallah. Now it's time to darken even more. So I'm taking indigo slightly mixed with dialogue. And as we move downwards to the edge of the bay, Bob, we're going to use indigo directly. I'm taking my number 2 round brush. It's time to add the veils and use indigo. I mean, dark shade of indigo for painting these waves. As you know, the watercolor will dry it to our three shades lighter. So it's always advice to go for a darker shade while you are applying the first layer. And your paper is wet while we are painting, the way is RNs WAS will not blend with the background color. And I think I'm done with painting. So I'm gonna keep this for drying and then we'll come back once the paper is completely dry. Vanguard, it did not try that lightly. We can work with this one. And now I'm going to take my number two brush and I will start adding the reflection. First, start the reflection with tacos. And as we move further down, I'm gonna blend it with the indigo. Now I'm taking indigo and I will paint the indigo, our reflection. And later I'm going to blend it with the fight of the paper where you're painting the reflection should be wet the entire time. Otherwise, you cannot blend these two colors together. Tallow takeaways and indigo. I'm taking my number line synthetic brush and I will start adding details to the reflections. And details. I mean nothing What does wiggly lines? A few of them on the wheels as well. And not paint the boat unless the reflection is dried up. So I will start by painting the reflections of this pilings while the reflection of the boat is drying up. Let's start with the boat. This one is quite effortless and need not many details. So I'm just making up the structure of the boat as I go along the insides of the board. So I'm just using indigo mix to it. Tallow takeaways to paint these. And while that is drying up, we're going to start painting the structures of the filings. We are done with the reflections before. It's really hard for me to paint these filings in a straight line because that is a camera right in trend of my forehead. And if I move a bit, the camera will move as well. But having a tin and very sharp brush really helps in painting straight lines and details. Filings are looking great. Now I'm going to get started with the rocks. These are on the similar things you see in every boat scape. I initially thought to leave the boat in white color. But for the background that we choose, the stroke I's and indigo color, we should have planned ahead. I mean, I should have planned ahead because these colors will not go well. With the white board. We need a little bit of differentiate, not different colors, just differentiate of the colors. Now, the boat will be in light shades of colors. And on one side of the board, it will be darker color. And the other side little bit lighter, but not completely. Now, I might need a smaller brush. So I will take my number one synthetic brush and I will start adding the details for the boat with barring the board with indigo RNA small synthetic brush. And we'll take my number 2 round brush now. And I will add indigo all over the board and I will just blend it up. Okay, It's looking cool. Now we can start painting the boat. It's done. As you might have observed. I went with my intuition. And when you go by your intuition, sometimes you fail and sometimes you succeed. It's really important in cultivating your own style. Instead of just referencing pictures are referencing some other artists paintings. It's not wrong. But in order to have your own style, you need to throw in your imagination, your own ideas. And let's add one last thing before we wrap up. Just going to splatter some pain using indigo and my number one brush. That is it. I hope you'll like class project five. I'm quite excited about this because today's project is not about the reflections, it's about the shadows. And let's all get started by taping down the paper first. Once you have done the paper perfectly on the board, you can start with the sketching. Stage is to scale to figure out where the boat should be. And I'm using bind method, the stock, my sketching. In case you don't know what bind method is, you can go back to Class Project 3. There we have discussed briefly about it. This boat is a simple fishing boat. I'm reason I am unable to paint a simple sketch today. Time it is. And sketching over and over again in guessed this bores, you can skip to the final sketch and Bosch's screen. Take a screenshot and finish your sketching. Clients are still not straight. But it's okay. We can not just with painting. Almost done with the sketching. I'm just going to add a few polls. You'll probably see those, you know, hanging around the board. I'm also going to briefly outline where the shadows should be. And here in this painting, Sunday is on my left side. So the shadows will be towards the right. Okay. I'm done with the sketching. I'm just going to clean my table. Since there is so much dust hill. To the colors. I have diamond blue and Alizarin crimson, dilute blue for the board. And alizarin crimson for the border of the board. I'm using yellow, burnt umber, burnt sienna, and Docker is blue. Since we are painting shadows instead of reflections. My idea here is to manage ocean and the beach. So Draco's blue to paint the ocean and remaining all these three colors to paint the beach. Let's get started by wetting the paper with clean water. And as always, I'm using my number for the stroma brush. Of course, do not read the boat the paper evenly. Make sure there are no water present in the burdens on the paper. I'm saying this for all the class project. Not only for these boards, clips, for all your watercolor paintings. Make sure the wash is even. Let's start by painting with takeaways. Should be blended with alloc and browns. Those Elon browns are for the beach. Blend until it feels right to you. And now I'm adding Indian yellow, but I will now start using other two colors, burnt umber and burnt sienna. And I will mix all of these colors together. And they are following your intuition. There is no right technique here because you need to stop when it feels right to you. My paper is still wet, so I'm taking lightest blue color and I will just lightly dab the paint on the top of the paper to show that there is a sky in the background. And let me tell you, the paper is still wet. So I'm taking burnt umber and I'm going to blend the beach, but let's add one more round of color. So when you're following your intuition, like I said before, there is no particular technique. You will just know when to stop. And it's not always going to work perfectly. Sometimes you're wrong. And sometimes he arrived. It's all about practice. It's looking perfect. So I'm going to stop right here and keep this or drying. So try it out perfectly except this blockage that I did not plan to. And since dried up, I'm taking my number one brush and I'm using alizarin crimson. I'm going to paint the edge of the boat with a dat bright red color. That is, I mean, I'm going to just use some random colors and fill up these structures that have been dead on the boat. Those might be fishing net, some sort of stuff that you usually see on fishing boat. You can use any colors you want. Those necessarily doesn't have to be these particular colors. I'm just using what's there and my ballot. Now, the boat is dried, but we're going to just add one more layer of indigo color on the boat. You not to show the shadows and stuff. One latch of alizarin crimson on the right side of the board. And not just to show that it is quite elastic. Everything together one more time. And we will keep this for drying to add the shadows. And I'm using my number 2 round brush and finds great. But here you have good. Remember, my brushes quite dry, not soaking wet. We need to use the dry brush technique. Just drag your dry brush along the right side after painting and you're good to go. In fact, after Shadow of the book is done, it's time to add a few accessories, poles and pilings and stuff. Whereas the shadows absurd, I'm using two types of pressures here. One is small, number 1 brush to paint the details. And the second is number 2, round brush to paint the shadows. And number two brush is also dry brush and it's not soaking wet. Ending these bowls and the shadows using my two types of pressures like I have mentioned before. The shadows are one shade lighter than the actual subjects. Now that we're done with the balls and the shadows, It's time to paint by links and the shadows, of course, using the same two types of brushes, number 1 and number 2. Number 2 is we use to paint the shadows should be a dry brush. It's already looking so realistic, like it's in 3D or something. Now it's time to add a few more accessories. I'm thinking to add rocks and their shadows. I'm splatter some paint. I'm using indigo on my number one brush. Background sky is looking simple and plain sight. I'm taking my synthetic brush and I will add a few birds in the sky. I'm going to take some white gosh and border it up to the polls. And pilings is a sappy way of showing that light is reflecting off of them. Spain to very lightly Do not go overboard with the white gosh. I can't help but splatter some of that white paper. You know, what would be the cherry on the top for this painting? It is to add the shadows of these polls that are leaning against the boat. So I'm just marking where the shadows would be with a pencil. And I'm using my number one brush and indigo, gently painting the shadows and dabbing it off with the tissue to remove the excess painting. And it really is the cherry on top. It's looking so realistic. And I absolutely fell in love with this one. But a Class Projects 6, I dot it, be nice to have a change. And I hope you liked it. See you tomorrow in the class project 7. And thank you for watching. 9. Class Project - 7: Hello guys. Welcome to the class project 7. Today's class is going to be a step up from previous class projects. We have painted a lot of different kinds of boards in lots of different kinds of colors. In the past six days. Do we have only painted one boat in one painting so far? I want to change that up a little bit. And today we're going to do a warm-up exercise of painting to vote. In a single painting. It's going to be very simple and of course, effortless, since this is the first time that we are going to paint two boats. So let's get started. Today. I am going to start by sketching the simple boat. I hope you have seen yesterday's class project. So I'm making a board similar to that. Only I'm making two of those today instead of just one. I think this book looks very small size. I'm going to just make it a bit longer. So now I'm going to paint a similar one. The right edge of the paper. I think these boats Look this antenna. I'm going to get started with pilings. You can take a screenshot at the end of the sketch and take your time. Because if you are a beginner in bending modes, it can get a little difficult to paint towards at the same time. I'm going to make a sketch of reflections. Can pause the screen right here and take as much time as you need it for sketching. Like I have said before, it can get a little difficult and confusing to paint two boats. I'll come into the colors. We only need three, indigo, blue, and turquoise green. Dhaka is green is for the water and reflections. Tallow blue and indigo is for the boat. Start by wetting the paper with clean water. And I'm using my brush astronomer full mile brush here. And as always, do not read the book. Both of them. As I read the paper evenly. Like I said, we're gonna take a talk ice cream, truck lies fallow green to paint water and reflections. But for now, let's start by painting the water. Do not let the Dhaka is Dahlgren touch the vote? Like I've said before, this is a warm-up exercise to get you started on painting to board. So I'm not going to go deep into painting water and waste my time here. We have already discussed that in previous projects. So I'm going to keep it simple and just paint only one layer of Draco, Estella green. And we're going to keep this for drying now. And we'll come back once it's dry, it. So I'm taking tallow blue to paint boat. And then I use indigo in the medulla oblongata paint on both sides. I'm going to just blend both of both sides of the color blue, indigo in the middle. Scrolling through the pictures of these kinds of boats on the Internet. And I found one of the pictures to be very simple to paint for a beginner. So I'm using that picture as a reference here. Okay, One more down and another one to go. I'm repeating the same process of mixing tallow blue and indigo for the second boat here as well. Can I said before, tallow blue and indigo will be used to paint the board. Now that we're done with the tallow blue, I'm going to use indigo to paint the rest of the boat. And the blue part is completely dried before you attempt the indigo color. Like all the boards that we have painted before, half the bolt will be in dark color, the other half will be in light. Cannot repeat the same thing with the second board as well. Half mode will be an indigo color. Half port will be in light yellow color. I was swallowing the picture. And I'm painting just as I see the boat in the picture. The same thing with the second board as well. Just a second end of the boat with indigo color. It's time to add the reflections. Like I said before, Taka style or green will be used for painting reflections. The reflections will be painted in a similar way. Like we have fainted out of this class projects in previous classes. I hope you guys can see it's not that difficult to paint two boats. Even this entire idea of painting boats and reflections is very intimidating for a lot of us, including me. But when you get started, it's going to get easier. You have to trust me on this because you can see my previous book projects that I have done on my Instagram page, like from 2018 or 17. You can hardly call them as boats. I'm done with the reflections of the boat. So I'm going to take a smaller number one brush and I will start painting the reflections of the pilings. I have sketched a lot of pilings here just to give a bit of character to this painting. Elections are done. Now let's paint the pilings and I'm using indigo color here. And of course my number one brush. Since this is Esther warm-up painting two boats, I'm not going into details. But if you wish, you can add ripples in the water and make the reflections a bit more realistic, like changing the color. Adding more those wiggly line start we have painted before. If you're just a beginner in painting board, and I'm not talking about the beginner in watercolor. I'm talking about a beginner in vote. Just go with the flow of the class. Because trust me, I'm going to take you step-by-step in achieving complex boats escapes. The final details will be adding rocks and the reflections and a few birds. Then I add the boats on my right side, top of the paper because it's kind of looking empty. First time I'm going to splatter some paint. Yesterday, we started to paint in a single Landscape, which is a new thing. And a steady was kind of like a warm-up exercise. Today is about painting to vote like yesterday, but just a little bit step up from esterase landscape. Like I said, I would walk you through step-by-step and we are taking the next step in bending. Do boats here. Painting billboards in a single landscape can be overwhelming and confusing for a beginner. That's why I intend to go step-by-step appeal. Like I don't want to Russia into painting complex landscape in the first go. Sorry, kind of plan these exercises before we get to the complicated landscapes are should I say complicated boat scapes. We're going to have to sketch toolbox here. And I am on to painting my first one. You still are simple fishing boat and I am on to painting my second boat now. Let's lightly sketch the reflections of these two votes. In my data observed or deletes or beaches, these birds are tied up to pilings with ropes, so I'm going to just sketch them. I always forget to add them in the final sketch. So this way, I hope I remember. Now I'm going to sketch a bunch of pilings. This is my favorite part because it's so please pause your screen right here and you can take a screenshot of the screen. Are you could just leave it at the pause and you can continue the sketching because it might be confusing to pay to sketch along with me. Coming to the colors, we're going to use three colors today. And tallow blue, which is already there on my palette. So I'm going to mix purple and yellow, blue, and sometimes indigo to get dark bluish purple color, which is what I'm going for. Let's begin with the first step that is reading the paper with clean water and make sure you're not touching these modes. They have to remain dry. So paint around them. Now, I'm going to take tallow blue lately mix to it. Blue color. If you don't have tallow blue, you can use ultramarine blue. But make sure the color looks somewhere in-between these two blue and purple colors are not completely purple color. Like we discussed in previous class projects. As we move down, the intensity of the color increases. So here I am taking more purple than the blue. So you can see the shades of purple here. I'm going to take a small number 2 brush so I can add leaves here at the bottom of the paper. My paper is still wet here, so I can easily add the wheels. I think I'm going to keep this word drying now and I'll come back once it's dried. Once your paper is completely dried, you can proceed with painting boats, and I'm using white color mixed with indigo to paint the vote. Remember previously we have mixed with tallow blue. This time we are mixing purple with indigo. A Conda board. This board will also be having two tones of color. At each edge. That is, at one edge, it will be darker color, and the other edge it'll be lighter. I'm going to add one more layer of indigo mix to it, purple. And we are done with the boat number 1. Let's proceed to board number 2. And I'm using same colors and the same paint. As we are painting booth number to the board, Number one is dried up so I can proceed with the reflections. If you have water is still wet, you don't have to go for reflections yet. Give it some time. Using indigo mixed with purple to paint the reflections. But in this mix there is around 60 percent of indigo and 40 percent of purple. It's more of a darker side. In by now you guys are familiar with how to paint the reflections. If not just pin does wiggly lines, it's the most easiest way to explain how to paint the reflections. I think whenever we see a landscape, and that is a complex landscape, we tend to get overwhelmed. But if you really observe it, It's actually very easy techniques that you kind of just pick up by your observations. So these landscapes that I'm painting right now, these bolts scapes, what are the techniques that I'm teaching you guys were picked up by me. Whenever I come across a photograph, a work of an artist. Oh, we kind of done the reflection of board number line. Let's proceed. The book number 2, using the same brush. Okay. I'm going to take small number 1 brush and paint a small ripples using indigo. Then we take the same color, that is indigo mixed with purple. And I will paint the inside of the mode. Here. I'm going for a very easy and the most common method of painting a fishing boat. It is most used because it's quite effortless. And Beaufort for a beginner who is just starting out in painting boat. Same color, same method, and of course, same brush goes for the mode one as well. I'm just going to darken the board Number 2 because we're number one is quite darker combat to vote number two. And I want them to match. So now it's time to add the reflections of these filings. So I'm going to take my number one brush and I will use indigo mixed with open to paint the reflections. Thanks to the sketch. Now I remember two painter rope. Yeah, Don't forget to add reflections of these ropes. They should be very light. Please make sure to have with your tissue paper to get that light color. Until you're done painting the ropes and the reflections layer back to painting our familiar subject that is pilings. And I'm using my number one brush and indigo color mixed with purple. I think that's it for today's class project. And I'm sure this one is a step up from yesterday's one. We just started out bending two bolts in a single landscape. And today's class project is definitely a bit more detail than the previous one. We still have so many days to go. So let's take it step-by-step and let's take it very slowly. Today, I'm in a mood for something abstract and moody. So I thought we could paint a rainy day for today. And of course, with two board. And I'm taping down my paper now. It did before, and I'm saying it again. This method of taping down the paper is really working well for me. I hope you guys will give it a try. Do things started with the first step, sketching. This class project is going to be like a landscape. The previous ones who are only about boats and the reflections. But this one will be a whole landscape scenery. So this landscape will include a bit of a land. Are you can say Sure. And bought reflections and a few pilings. And this is going to be very interesting to paint because we are choosing moody colors. I'm keeping the boats get simple. And a carry on with the rest of the sketch. Now, this is where the land or B. Since the last Todo class projects, we are into painting 20 volts in a single landscape. So this is one of those exercises, but with a bit of a twist. That is, we are painting a whole landscape instead of just two boats and their reflections. Now we're going to sketch a few balls that are attached to the board. I have four columns with me, but one of them is very unique. I'm going to talk about it later. But for now, red color and blue color for the boat and bond and love to paint a line. And this is the unique one, Sennelier gray. It's a very one color. I think a lot of you don't have it. So I'm going to swatch this color out for you to give me an idea how this one looks. The nearest similar color you can get is mixing Payne's gray with white, but mixed very light color of the pines gray and don't go for a darker shade. Let's start by wetting the paper with clean water. And please leave the boats alone. Do not read both of the boats just met around the area of the boat. And then I start by adding some color gray mix from the top of the paper. Let's analyse or gray mix because I'm mixing it with a bit of Payne's gray into it the same color throughout the paper except the boat and the land park. We're going to have to work faster here because we need the paper to be wet. So I'm taking by onscreen just tell a little bit of a chandelier gray and I will add the reflection part. Reflections in this class project is moldable, blending, then adding details. So I'm trying my best to blend this dark reflections into the light background. Easily able to blend this dark color because my paper is still wet. I add one more layer of pines, gray, but only at the edges of the boat. Now Glenn discolored smoothly with the background. Once you have content with the blending, you can start painting the land part. I'm using burnt umber for this. And a little bit of indigo with burnt umber. Because I don't want the landscape to be planar. I'm going to show you there's some magic. I'm taking a heavy load of indigo paint, and I am painting only one stroke of it. Later. I'm going to drag the paint down with my brush. And you can instantly see that it gives an effect of water present there. We're going to take indigo again, and I will paint a few brushstrokes. I had told you guys that this is kind of like an abstract landscape. So I'm trying to add burnt umber and indigo to show that land and water is kind of getting mixed up. I draw on modal layer of indigo under the boat. That's where the heavy shadows will be. This is where the heart of the painting is. I'm taking a small number 2 flat brush and I'm using burnt umber. So I'm just going to drag the paint vertically to show the reflections. I wanted to let you guys know that my paper is now damp and not too wet, not too dry. I'll add one more layer of these reflections using indigo in non-test to darken them. Now using this small brush, I'm adding a few repulse and one more layer of burnt umber to show the line. It was almost disappearing because of water and reflections. To let this one dry. Now it's time to paint the boat. Like I said, one will be in blue color data when will be read. So I'm starting with the blue one. Under boards that we have painted before. This one will be half dark color, half light in color. Hello, I'm mixing the blue with indigo and take a small brush and I will add a line in between the mode. This is just me time to add details to the boats. The previous class project ones were, you know, not very detail. The blue boat is dried. It's time to paint the red one. In the same way that we have entered the blue 1.5 part of the red boat will be in dark color. The other half will be in light color. The red alizarin crimson color with indigo. To get the dark color. If I get to add that one line between the board, trust me, it's going to look great once it's dried. Last step remaining. That is to paint these balls that are cleaning onto the boat. I'm taking my number one synthetic brush and indigo, also painted. It's time to paint the reflections as well. Now this landscape is still looking Dalit, so I'm going to add a few more false. Our nephew morph. And I'm going to splatter some paint at the end. That's it for today's class project. And I can clearly say that this is one of my favorite moody boat scapes. Hope you like it too. And thank you for watching. See you tomorrow. 12. Class Project - 10: Hi guys, Welcome to class project. Then. Only ten days remaining to complete 20 days cause in boats. Every day I am teaching you guys some new element in all of these Class Projects. And today is no different. A data element that we are adding in today's landscape is the dog. Usually you see these dogs or the bolt hotel being tied to a rope are being pack rat. These dogs. Dockside. A beautiful addition to our boat scapes. So I thought we could paint the dogs in our own simplistic way. We are still on to painting in a single landscape exercises. So today I'm choosing to simple rowing boat. I'm using Find method. First sketching here. If you want to know what is find method in sketching, please go back to class project. I have talked more about it there. Let's add a few pilings and I'm going to sketch all of these pilings near the doc. I'm going to quickly are the reflections. And now is the time for you guys to pause your screen. Take a screenshot. And sketch at your own pace. Coming to the colors. And I have one good news. We're only using two colors today, burnt sienna and indigo. And CNI is for the boats and dog, and indigo is for the water. And I have to tell you, I'm going to make sperm sienna with indigo and not too dark in the boat and too dark in the dark as well. Start by wetting the paper with clean water and make sure the loss is even. And of course, paint around the boat do not let the boats get wet AutoDock. In this case. Let's start by using the light shade of indigo. And as we move downwards, the color will get darker. Like I said, the color gets darker as we move downwards to the paper. Now, I'm going to take a small brush and I will take dark shade of indigo and I will start adding the wheels at the edge of the water. Don't add in a larger size of VS. Just light strokes with your brush is enough. Now I'm going to keep this for drying and I will come back once it's dried. It's looking great. Now I'm going to take my number 2 round brush and I will take burnt sienna. I'll get started painting the board. Like we have painted in previous class projects. The boats will be in two colors. As to half will be in darker color, the second half will be in lighter color. So to make it darker, I will mix burnt sienna with the indigo and faint the first half of the boat with it. The other half will remain in light color. Let's paint the second boat in the same way that we have been dead the previous 1. First layer with burnt sienna. The mix of burnt sienna and indigo for the first half of the mode. Now while these two boards are drying, leak and proceed to painting the doc, I'm gonna painter dog more or less in a similar way as the board. First, I will paint with the burnt sienna. Later. I will darken it using the mix of burnt sienna and. The goal. Now, everything on the paper should be kept for drying both boats underdog. So I'll see you guys. Once the paper is completely dried. The paper is dried. So I'm taking my number 2 round brush and indigo. And I'm going to start painting the reflections. Neatly follow the sketch that we have done. After reflections. After painting the reflections of boat number 1. Let's move on to paint the reflections of board number 2. And I'm using the same brush and the same color. Got this time, after 10 days of painting boats and reflections, you guys would probably be knowing how to paint reflections by now. And also, I have dark the reflections in a very simplistic way. I'm glad you guys like this effortless. Third, to paint the reflections. And once we are done with the reflections of both of the boards, now it's time to add a few details to the dock as lines that we have sketched during the sketching of the landscape. Where I'm taking my small number 1 brush and indigo. And I'm just going to go over those lines that we have already sketched before. Coming to the details, I'm going to take some burnt sienna and indigo. And I'm just going to apply over a few places underdog. And later I'm just going to blend them with my mop brush. And that's all we have to do to add the details for the dog. And it's going to look very realistic ones, it's dries. Now I'm going to take my round brush number 2 and it's time to add the pilings. If the vote are, the reflection is wet. Do not attempt to paint the pilings, wait for them to dry. Here. The dark is not completely dried. It is damp. So I'm taking a tissue and placing the tissue or the dog and I'm keeping my hand oh, at the tissue and painting the filings. But if your dog is still completely wet and not anywhere near damper dry, you might need to wait for a few minutes before attempting the pilings. The final step is to paint a few ropes that are tying the boats to the pilings on the ground. Now when it is completed, it's time to splatter some paint. I'm using indigo here and my number one brush. And now we have successfully completed our class project. I really hope that you liked the boat with the dog. It's a new excise for us. Class Project - 11: So with the 11 today in the journey of 20 days of boat, I figured it's time to start with what perhaps the most intimidating type of mode. A sailing boat. Sailing boats can be very confusing for a beginner. But once we understand how to paint the sales, it's going to be most rewarding subject one can paint while painting both scapes. So I quickly painter a simple board, and now it's time to paint the sales. Today's class project is about painting only the sailing boat and not the landscape. So today there'll be no painting of water are the reflection. Let's first get acquainted with the boat and its structure. Later. Slowly, we can move on to painting the whole landscape around the sailing boat. Let's first start with the simple sailing boat. So there will be only two sales for this one. I'm going to quickly increase the size of that bone so I can sketch the second sale. Just like the simple book. We're going to go for, simple sales here as well. I'm sketching the most common shape of the sale. I lose strangle if you want to call it that. And so we are done with the sales and word sketching. We can move on to in all it lightly sketch those ropes that are hanging around. And now he's like I am for you guys to finish up sketching by pausing the screen. Are taking a screenshot. Now painting only the sales and the board. And I'm going to use yellow, orange, and a mix of red to paint the sales and board as well. But do you know both should be in a bit darker color. So I might use a mix of red, violet, and indigo. So since there is no background, there is no water that we're painting today. We can directly go for the boat. And I'm mixing yellow, orange, and red colors. But if, if you think this is too much, you can directly go for burnt umber color. Now let's begin painting the board. The main principle is half of the boat will be in light and the other half little bit dark. And the other half, I'm going to use indigo. While this is drying. We can go for painting the sales. I'm taking my number 2 round brush and I will invert the part where the fastest release they're mixing yellow, orange, and red that is already there on my palette. And then I got this color that looked like burnt sienna. So you can directly go for burnt sienna for this one. Faintest sale, only on one side I'm choosing left side here. Then just blend the restaurants the same with the same color. Do not use extra pinned. So once you're done with the first wash. You can just straighten out the lines. Keep this one for drying. So before attempting the second sale, the first sale should be completely dried. Now it's time to start painting the second sale. I'm going to take my number 2 round brush and I will read it with. Not so clean water is the same colors that we have used to for the fastest. Yellow, orange, and red. You can use burnt sienna as well. Paint the first layer very carefully. Now, remember, the second sale will have two layers because I'm going to show the shadow of the fastest sale falling onto the second sale. I'm mixing fopen with thread to get that shadowy color. Now, paint another triangle. And this is the shadow of the fastest. To make this hard edge into itself one, I'll just take my mop brush and blend shadow color with the rest of the sale. While it is drying, we can proceed by painting the polls. I'm taking my number 1 round brush. You need a smaller brush for this. Just draw a straight line. And once you are done with that, it's time to paint the remaining ropes that we have sketched here. And I'm going to add one more detail to the board. I'll just paint a straight line over it in. It's just kind of like a border. And with the same brush and with red color, I'm going to paint a small flag. United States details like this that makes a painting look more realistic. We will look at actually the most important to complete a landscape. Then add a few details on the sales. Then I want add the water. But at the end, I kinda changed my mind. I do we are not going to paint the whole landscape full of water. Just done it. Small hint that there is water present under the boat. And I'm using a new color for this. And my number 2 round brush. I'm just painting the water in a kind of abstract way. And we're almost done. I'm just going to splatter some paint and paint a few boats. And I'm using my number one brush for this. And I really hope you liked today's class project. It's just one of the exercises that we're going to attempt to perfect the sailing boats still have a long way to go before we complete the 20 days project. Class Project - 12: We learned how to paint a basic sailing boat in yesterday's class project. We are now going to paint a simple sailing boat and a landscape around it. After taping down my paper, I'm going for sketching fast. I'm going to divide the paper into two sections and I'm using the scale for that. Since we are just getting started with painting, sailing boat, hide dark, I'd keep this one simple. There's going to be bought and it's safe. And some far-away objects. Our report in the background. And then a little bit of flexion. And that is all for today's sketch. Coming to the colors I'm using one unique color today. It's going to be a mix of Sennelier, gray and orange. And I'm going to use it to paint the background. And for the boat and the reflection. I'm going to use indigo today that I talked to mix these two colors together, Sennelier, gray and orange. And I wanted to see how the color would look like. So I'm giving it a swatch. If you don't have Sennelier gray, you can use binds green stead and mix it with orange color. If the color looks nice. So let's get started by wetting the paper with clean water. And I'm using my number for birth trauma brush. And please don't read double, including the sale, Let around it and give a very clean wash. I'm going to use that dusty pink color we got from mixing Sennelier, gray and orange. And I'm going to paint the background with it. Usually mix the colors and use it. I prefer to use a direct color from the tube because I have to keep mixing them while I paint a landscape. And I'll get differences in the tone of the color, as you can see here. But you can quickly blend them together. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. Once we're done with the first wash, it's time to add some waves. So I'm taking another round of paint with my restaurant, my brush, number 4. And I'm going to quickly add a few waves. Remember my paper is still wet here. Now, I'm going to keep this for drying and I'll come back once it's dried. Strike. I'm gonna take my number 2 round brush and I will add the background using indigo. It's just some faraway pork. I'm going for here. Once you are done, take a tissue and dab a bit not to remove some color. It is just seeming too dark. But if your landscape is light, you don't have to go for this step. Now, using the same brush and same color, indigo, we're going to paint the reflections. The reflections are longer than the boat because I am taking into consideration here. And I'm not going for a detailed reflection. As you can see. Just paint them uncertain horizontal lines and you're good to go. Now it's time to paint the same. I'm taking indigo color and number two, brush. We have discussed in yesterday's class project while painting a sale. Paint only on the one side. And for the rest of top space blended with Don already remaining columns are not taking extra paint. Drying. We can get started with the painting the boat. Like all the boards that we have been done before. This one will also be darker at one end and lighter on the other end. Let's add a few details to the sale, but make sure it is completely dry before you do so. First, I'm going for that long pole like we have been did yesterday. And I'm using my number line synthetic brush. This is probably my favorite park in painting a sailing boat because adding the ropes is kind of makes the sailing book look alive and realistic. This dry a few lines, random lines on a boat. These are apart of adding details. We're going to paint a few boards and splatter some band. And that is the last of the details that we need to paint for this landscape. And we are done. I hope you liked or foster landscape and with the sailing boat. And I'll see you guys tomorrow. Thank you for watching. 15. Class Project - 13: Hello, Welcome to Class Project 13. Today, like a sturdy, We continue to cruise through our practice of painting sailing boat. I have this habit of painting moody landscapes. So today's class project, we'll be leaning towards that. And I have to say Class Project 13 is my favorite of all my class projects till now. I'm going for a simple sketch today, a boat and the reflections, and a simple sale. And I wanted to add background mountains for this landscape. So there will be that. And we are done with the sketch. Now it's time for you guys to put a pause on your screen and continue with your sketching. I'm using only two colors today. Van Gogh, quin rose, and White Nights, indigo. And this van Gogh tube is very old, so don't judge me. Let's start by wetting the paper with clean water. And I'm using my restaurant and before my brush. You can let the mountains, but not the sale and the boat. Paper is wet cleanly and evenly. I'm going to take. Indigo. And I'm going to start with my first wash. Paint very carefully. Don't let the indigo or touch the sale are the boat. Like I said, the collab can go to the mountain, but not the CEO or the board. As you guys know, probably by now. When we go towards the edge of the paper, the color gets in dense and we get to paint males. So blending here perfectly with the background because the paper is still wet. And it's time to paint the mountains and I'm using embeds indigo color. And at the time I was painting the mountains, the paper became damp. So the structure of mountain is staying still. If your paper is soaking wet, then please wait for some time before you paint the mountains or else the color will just ignore, disperse into the paper. I'm adding a few loose just under the mountain to show the reflections of the mountain in the water. Now I think this is enough. I'm going to keep this for drying and I'll come back once it's dried. And this has dried. Now, let's get started with the sale. I'm using my number 2 round brush and windrows color to paint the sale. And faint very carefully. Do not let the paint get out of the border lines of the same. And also this little triangle here. Do not let the light color of the windrows that tripped. I'm using very light shade of windrows here. I'm going to take Ledi little of purple shade and I will just brush it through the sale. You not to give that depth. It needs our acetal. It's going to look just plain. Once we are done with the same, we can move on to paint the board, but we will come back again to add the details to that sale. I'm just waiting for it to dry. I'm using indigo to pain the boat and just dive back into go on both the sides and blend all of the boat together using the brush. I'll take my number one synthetic brush and I will repeat the same process of adding indigo color on both sides of the board and just blending on the boat together. But using this small brush gives more aspect for detailing. We're going to just continue with the detailing. I think it looks good. So I'm going to get started with painting the poll. I'm using my number one synthetic brush and indigo for this. Now it's time. To paint my favorite part of this landscape, reflections and lake. All of the boat scapes that we have painted before. This reflection will be in art color. That is Queen Rose, which I have never used to before. Because the sale is in quin rose, I start to paint the reflections in pink as well. Using indigo in the middle, because more colors you add are more shades of the color OCR. It gives that much depth to your subjects. Now that we are done with the reflections, we can go back to adding details to the sale. I am using Quinn rose mix to it, indigo. I'm going to fill that color up in this little triangle. You know, when the sale is moving towards the wind, it gets folded to where the wind is going. And this is that byte. So naturally, it will be a bit darker in color than the rest of the sale because it is the folded version of it. Let's add a few details to the sale. And as usual, I'm going to splatter some paint and paint a few, but I hope you enjoyed today's class project. I for one date because the reflections are in different color than any of the boat scapes that I have painted before. And I really enjoyed that. I push my boundaries today and I absolutely loved it. Let's continue with another beautiful sailing boat landscape. Yesterday's class project was rather moody. So I decided to go for bright, warm colors for today. So let's get started. This time. Let's start with the colors. And for me at least nothing is complete unless I have my indigo to you. Like I said, we're going to go for a colorful landscape today. So I'm using yellow, orange, pink, and purple for the background. And for the boat under sale. We're going to use indigo and dread. And maybe I'm going to mix colors for the sale as well. We'll see it start with sketching and I'm going to go for a very simple boat. So till now we have added only one sale. And today we're going to add to sales. Hello. Now that the sketching is almost done, you guys can pause the screen and finished sketching. Let's get started with the first step that is wetting the paper with clean water. And I have to tell you guys when good news, you don't have to leave the boat alone. You can add water over it. Till now, we had to leave the boat alone and paint around them. That used to be a bit difficult, I assume. I'm going to take a blend of orange, yellow, and red colors and I will get this kind of orangey pink color. Non-art, this one, I'm going to adjust the mix. Okay? This is kind of pinkish orange. We're going to go for that LAN and apply that pinkish orange color in the middle of the paper. Like I said, I'm going for a colorful landscape today. Closely followed by orange, yellow, and purple colors. It's the sky. Now, we can get started with the water, and it'll be a mix of purple and indigo. Let's take dark indigo color and add wheels while we're at it. Except for the water being in horizontal direction. There is no distinction between sky and the water here. And that is intentional. And keep this for drying. And I'll come back once it's dried. And it is dried. So let's start with our next step. And I'm using my number two brush and indigo color to paint the boat. It's a very simple boat and we don't need to add any details. Once we are done with the boat, we can get started with painting. The sale can set. I'm going to use different colors to add the depth for the same. So fast to color, I'm going to take is orange. Later on, it is mixed with red. Final color. I'm going to use wireless mics to it, indigo. And using your brush, blend all of these colors together. Make sure the top part of the sale is light color. As it comes down, it gets darker. Now let's paint the second sale. Exactly the same, with the same colors and the same brush. Add orange, letter red, and violet mixed with indigo, and blend all of these colors carefully in such a way that top of the sale will be in light color, that is orange, and the bottom will be in dark. That is, indigo is drying. It's time to add the reflections. I'm painting the reflection of the board and I'm using indigo color for that. Select, we have painted a sturdy we're going to paint the reflection of the sale. I'm going to use red color. And in-between, I'm going to mix it up with indigo. And now it's time to paint the second sale deflection. And we're going to use the same method as before. Apply red color and add indigo. So remember, the length of the fastest sale is longer compared to the second one. So the reflection of the second sale should always be smaller. Inland compared to the sales reflection. At this point, the sales are dried up. So I am taking my number line synthetic brush and I'll get started with the detailing. First. I'm going to paint the poles. And then with the same brush, I'm going to paint a few ropes. Now, I'm going to just splatter some paint and add a few modes. And thank you for watching. 17. Class Project - 15: Hello, Welcome to Day 15, afternoon Today's course. Here comes another moody boat scale. I simply cannot resist going for dark and gloomy colors. Let's start with sketching. Today's boat is going to be quite different than what we have painted so far. But I'm sure it's not difficult. We are not painting detailed boat here. So I'm just going for a random lines and dots. Today's boat is also going to be a sailing boat. So let's paint the same and a few ropes. Coming to the colors. I'm only going to be using three colors today. Dark eyes blue to paint the water on the same indigo mix to it. To paint the sky and clouds as well as the boat. And reflections of costs. Let's start by wetting the paper with clean water. And please leave the boat and sail alone. Do not let the water touch the stove. Let me start by mixing purple and indigo. And the color should look somewhere close to this. Now I'm going to take that color and paint the sky as well as the Cloud mid the same color. Don't let the color touched the sale. And now I'm going to take talk eyes blue and start painting the water while the paper is still wet. Fainter tacos blue around the boat as well. Don't let the color touched the boat. Now remember, as we come down the collagen in pencil, I'm taking indigo and I'm going to start painting the vase. And once I'm done, I'm gonna keep this word drying. And I'll come back once it's dried. Now that the paper is dry, I'm going to take my number 2 round brush and indigo. And I'm going to get started with painting the boat. I'm going to paint all three sides of the boat using the same color, indigo. And only one side his remaining on my left. I'm taking a small number one brush because I need to paint it in a thin stroke. Now I'm going to paint inside of the boat. And I'm not going for the details here, just a few lines and a few dots like I have sketched before. And I'm using same number one brush, the small one, and of course indigo. Simple, right? Actually when we see these kind of complex landscape, we assume there'll be so many details and the landscape will be so much complicated. But in reality, it's actually not. Just have to know a few tricks and techniques. Now it's time to paint the sale. And I'm going to use docker is blue and indigo for this. Just like we have been doing a study today, sale will also have two colors. One is a light color that they struggle is blue and the dark one, Indigo. Painting a subject or a structure in watercolor, using different shapes are different colors. Use it more depth. It can instantly change a 2D structure into the 3D. On that same note, I'm going to start painting the reflections and I'm going to use two colors. Again. Tacos blue and indigo. Keep alternating between indigo, blue. Now using a small number of brush, number 1 brush, I'm going to adjust the reflections. And those are big words. What I meant is I am going to paint the wiggly lines. Now let's paint the bowls and the ropes. And I'm using my number one brush and indigo color for this. And a few details on the same weekend, Milan to splatter some paint and add a few. Then I'll have previous sailing boat. The boat itself is not difficult, but the landscape around it. I'm going for an intense sunset scenery. And I hope you guys are ready. Then a golfer, a simple board and to sales for today's landscape. And a light sketch for the reflections. And I'm not going to rely on this sketch alone to paint the reflections, because since the reflections are at the bottom of the paper, it's going to be colored in dark colors so the sketch will not be visible. And remember I have divided the paper into two sections. So I'm going to tape down. On that line because I want to protect the part that is below and above part. I'm going to go for a theory sunset. Now coming to the colors, there's gonna be a lot of mixing of colors. So I'm going to explain what colors I'm going to use. But for now, I'm going to take Prussian blue. And I'm going to take that color on my palette because that's the only color that's not there. Now coming to the first step, that is wet the paper with clean water and you don't have to, you know, paint out on the boat. You can directly paint over it. Mixing the colors yellow, orange and pink to get this sort of, you know, peachy orange color are pinkish orange color. I'm making a few swatches of the colors and I got the right shade at my third drive. The color leans towards pinkish color rather than red color, pinkish, orange. You can see directly below this one. And then we're going to get started with blue colors, blue shade. You can see, I'm going to first start with Prussian blue. To increase the intensity of the color, I'm going to add another layer of Prussian blue, immediately followed by indigo. And I just blend all of these colors together. And at the bottom, just below dialog, I'm going to add this bluish tinge that I have on my brush, and I'm just going to blend through it as well. Now it's time to add the beautiful cloud, and I'm using indigo color for this as well. And my paper is still wet. If your paper is completely dry it then please avoid adding the cloud. Or is the baby will get blotchy and the Cloud to not be blended with the background. Now I'm going to keep this for drying. And my paper is completely dry and I'm going to remove the tape now. It should be coming off this easily. Rls, your paper is still wet. Please wait for some time until your paper is try to remove the tape. Let's let the rest of the paper with clean water. We're going to add the same colors that we used in the above section of the paper. Pinkish color, and a local letter, blue. Remember, as we come down, the intensity of the color will be increased. So I'm gradually adding the darker shade of Prussian blue. Once that's done, I'm going to take indigo and I'm going to start adding the wheels. Like I said, this is going to be an intense and difficult landscape than the previous board scapes that we have been done. That means we're going to go into the depth of painting, the vase. So there's gonna be a lot of us that we had to paint. Now. One more layer of painting the vase. Now I'm going to take number two, small round brush, and I'm going to add one more layer afterwards using this brush. Till now we have been doing, I think three layers of wheels. Yeah. So I'm gonna keep this for drying and I'll come back once the paper is completely dry. Now that the paper is dry, we're going to get started with painting the boat. But before that, we're going to need to have one thing nearby. That is this liner brush. If you don't have a liner brush, you can go for a very small number 0 are even smaller than that brush with you, because we're going to need this to paint the reflections. I'm gonna take my number 2, round brush and indigo, and I'm going to get started with painting the boat. Now, once the boat is done, I'm going to use the same indigo color. And I'm going to paint the sales and I'm using the same brush as well. Number 2, round brush, using the same brush and the same color. Let's paint the second sale as well. And now I'm going to use a thin number one brush and I'm going to paint the pole right here. Using indigo. Once we are done with that, I'm going to take number 2, round brush and I'm going to get started with painting the reflections. And I'm using indigo color here. It's like literally moving your brush in a zigzag manner. And I have never painted and reflections this easy before. Now, I'm going to take that liner brush and I'm going to add details to the reflections. Let's quickly change the brush. Now I'm going to take my number 2 round brush and I'm going to add just the reflections. Previously. We did not paint the reflections of the sale, so I'm just going to, you know, paint a few horizontal lines in what things are remaining. I'm going to quickly take my number one synthetic brush and I'm going to paint the ropes. And a splatter, some paint and paint a few, but and we are done with class projects 16. And in case you guys don't know, this particular landscape can be considered as an advanced. And I really hope you liked painting it. See you guys tomorrow. And we only have very few days left in our 20 days journey. And we're going to paint a monochrome boat skip today. And I am choosing indigo color for today. Imagine watching a boat sailing through in moonlight. And that's what today's landscape is about. Interesting light. And I'm going to start by wetting the paper with clean water. And I did not sketch the boat. I have only divided the paper into sections. I'm going to paint the book directly and keep the tissues ready. We're going to need them in our very next step. Now I'm going to start adding my indigo color. And like I said, I'm going to paint the boat moonlight. So there has to be a moon, right? So this is usually one of the techniques that I use. Vile painting, wet-on-wet. Alternatively, you can use masking fluid, our masking tape to cover up their own space. And with the tissue, I'm going to dab the paint off and I get a clear round shape. And I'm going to continue painting the Indigo. While painting near or around the moon. Be careful. Do not let the paint go over the moon. If it does, well, take a tissue and dab again. And I'm going to continue with painting indigo color. Now like all the previous class projects that we have been dead before, you know that as we come down the Delegates Intense, right? So I'm gonna take darker shade of indigo and continue painting the views. Watercolors always dries a shader to lighter than what we wanted to. So it's always nice while we are still painting. Go for a darker shade. Now when the paper is still wet, I'm going to get started with painting the mountain and its reflection. Make sure to leave a white space Autolite line between mountain. And it's reflections so that when you see the painting, you can clearly differentiate between what is the subject and what is the deflection. I'm going to keep this for drying and I'll come back once it's dried. Like I said, watercolor dries two shades lighter than what we wanted to. And now I have this very bright and very dull looking painting, but it's okay. Let's get started with painting the boat. And let's see if I can paint without a sketch. But it's looking good. Let's move on to painting the sale. Using this model, number one brush to paint the sale. A painting without a sketch is a very bad idea. But I think I can pull this off because the boat is in a very small size. And I can easily make corrections. But if we are going for, because objects are bigger, boat, please sketch before you paint. Now it's time to paint the reflections and I'm going to use light shade of indigo, lighter than the moon. And we're going to just paint a few zigzag lines and I'm using my number one brush. Having the small and thin brush really helps in painting loose reflections. I'm going to just splatter some pain now. And I really hope you like this very simple and very effortless painting. I've always loved very much painting this monochrome bird scale. And I would love to see you guys try painting monochrome bird scapes with different colors. For example, you can try using purple color. You can try using tacos blue color and dark brick color. There are so many colors to choose from. And I can't wait to see what you guys will come up with. And I have decided today's the last day that we paint a sailing boat landscape. And we have explored everything there is to sailing boat and the landscape in the last six days. And tomorrow. And the day after, I'll be teaching exclusively about the advanced boat, like the one you see here. So today's the last day to paint sailing boat landscapes. I thought I would include a very simple and easy landscape. Interesting parties. Today we're going to paint three sailing boat. Till now, we have entered only one sailing boat in a single landscape. Since I said it'll be an easy one. I opted for a small sketch of the boat and the sale. Coming to the colors, we're going to need only two colors today. One is red and dark eyes blue. And tacos blue is for the water. And maybe I'm going to include indigo to paint. With this. I'm going to get started by wetting the paper with clean water. And I'm using my number fibrous stroma brush for this. You can retain read of the paper except for the sales. We're going to paint the board with red color. So it will give them to be covered in Dhaka is blue because when we add the red color, the dark eyes will not be visible because it is darker. And for the sales am thinking to go over a white shared, maybe I'm going to add a bit of indigo, but why it will be the main color. So it's the reason why I'm not reading the sale. It I'm going to get started with painting the boat and I'm going to use a red color for this. Once I'm done painting the mode, I'm going to move on to painting the sales. Like I said, they will be mostly in light color, but I'm going to add indigo. You not to show the depth of the sale. Only using belong on one side of the sale. Here I'm choosing the right side. Repeat the same with the rest of the two sales. It's time to paint the reflections and I'm going to use red color first because the boats are in red color. I'm going to blend these red colored reflections with the light shade of indigo because the sales are in that color. Feet the same way. I'm going to use my number one brush and I'm going to paint the poles. And I'm going to use indigo color. It's time to splatter some paint and proceed with painting the birds. Today I decided to paint so many birds because I just like the plain talker is blue background. And having a lot of birds would look great with a plain background like that. I think I almost forgot painting the ropes. I'm going to just take a liner brush. It's a very thin brush and I'm going to paint a few ropes. If you don't have a liner brush, you can go for a very small brush in your collection. We're almost done. I hope you liked today's landscape. So I thought I heard teach you how to paint advanced boats. Till now, we have concentrated on painting reflections and water. We did paint boat, but there is so much to painting a subject. And boats are no different. And we're going to get into more details on how doping doubled realistically. That means spending more time in sketching to retailing and coloring as well. We're going to talk about that later. Today is all about an exercise in painting and advanced boat. And today we're going to paint only a boat and not a complete landscape. Tomato. The last day airflow to end today's journey, we're going to paint a complete advanced abort scape. I taught today. I'm done with this sketching of a simple board. Sketching is simple, but the painting of this boat is going to be a bit complicated. Please pause the screen and complete with the sketching of the boat guys. Always use as less close as possible for my landscapes because I get overwhelmed when there are so many colors involved. And today's nor different time using only two colors, burnt sienna and Prussian blue. I will probably use in legal when it is necessary. And I forgot to add a few things to the board and I'm going to just proceed with them now. Sorry about that. Now, I'm going to sketch some vendors. This sort of additional things is what makes a boat and advance to one. Since the sport is under the advanced category, there are going to be so many details that we have to include an ad. And so we are done with the sketching. It's time to paint the first layer. I'm going to be using burnt sienna. And number 2 round brush. The first layer, as you can see, paint around the vendors and this double line that you're seeing here, There's going to be blue color over there. Now. I'm going to mix a little bit of indigo with burnt sienna and paint a second layer. Repeat the same process that we have used to for the first layer as well. That is to not paint over the finders, paint around them. Indigo and burnt sienna again, and paint the final layer. We're going to repeat the same process. On my left side of the boat as well. Let's keep this for drying and I'll come back. Once it's dried. It's time to add Prussian blue on those borders, as well as in the Madonna. And I'm using my number two brush. And we're going to add blue color to those vendors as valid. And fainting those vendors add blue color, only do half of it, and the rest of it will be Blender without the colors. Repeat the same process with the rest of the vendors. Now once you are done with the fenders, it's time to move on with the structure that is about the boat is not going to be a detailed structure. So I'm going to take a few colors and blend them all together to do this sort of rustic look at the structure isn't light color. So I'm going to add a little contrast and I'm going to use indigo for that. And I repeat the same process of blending of colors with the rest of the structure. Add one more layer of indigo. I'm going to completely dry my brush. And I'm going to leave some color off with a dry brush. Using this technique gives the structure the kind of faded look which we need for this one here because we have been doing and all of the boat. I have some color left on this dry brush and I'm going to add the shadows for the offenders. This is a very important step to make the board look 3D. Effect after shadows should be very subtle. So do not go overboard with the shadows. Just a little bit of color is enough. Now it's time to paint the water on and I'm not going to be getting into details of painting the water, especially because we have been doing that since the past 18 days. Today our focus is about painting and advanced boat. Okay. Okay. Before I get carried away with painting Walker, I'm going to stop it right here and I'm going to paint the filing that is at the far end of the paper. And I'm going to use indigo. I'm going to quickly paint a couple of stones here. We can paint the reflection of this, but the water is still wet and we're going to come back once it's tied to complete the reflection. Time to add a few more details. So I'm going to take my liner brush and indigo, and I'm going to just add a few shadows here on the titles should always be very subtle. And I'm going to add a few ropes using the same liner brush and indigo. And I'm using scale because for some reason I'm able to paint a straight line today. And we are at it. We're going to paint those long poles as well using the same brush and the same paint. Now the walker is dried. So I'm going to quickly add the reflections of this piling and a few rocks. And that then I'm going to splatter some paint has Israel are very complicated. And Atlanta board in a very simple manner and in a very less time. And I hope you guys like this approach. And I'm going to see you guys tomorrow. Thank you for watching. 22. Class Project - 20: Hello, welcome to the last chapter of our 20 days journey of learning bought. Today, we're going to learn to paint an advanced boat scape with advanced techniques. But I'm going to teach everything in a very simple way. Guiding you through the process step-by-step really helps to understand the concepts better. So let's get started. And I'm going to quickly make a sketch of a boat. It's refractions and the mountain in the background. We have learned how to paint an advanced boat. And today we're going to paint the same. The advanced boat. We told our advanced details. Here I am sketching the fenders. I'm going to sketch a few details about the boat as well. Now I'm going to use a scale and draw a few polls. Gonna go for details on these polls later while we are painting for now, the sketches enough. You're gonna go for sketching the reflections now. And these are not mirror reflections. So the sketch should be semi detail. Make sure to sketch the reflections in dark shared. Because when we paint the views which is going to be in dark color, there is a chance that we can't see the sketch of the reflections. Welcoming to the colors. I'm going to be using four colors, yellow and Prussian blue, indigo, and bulk bill. I forgot to take my bubble tube. And here it is. And as we paint, I'm going to explain which colors I'm going to be using. And let's get started by wetting the paper with clean water and do not read the book section. We're going to always go for light to dark in watercolors. So I'm going to first use your local law. And I have lots of colors on my palette. So there is a bit of orange that is touching my yellow. And I'm just going with it. We're going to use Bhopal and blend it with the yellow. You see the line in the middle of the paper. Whatever colors that we are using, yellow or purple paint on both sides because the below is water and it is reflecting the colors that are above in the sky. Let's bring the final color, indigo. Going to first paint the indigo in the sky area. Later, I'm going to get that color at the bottom of the paper where we're going to use it to paint the veins as well. I forgot to mention. I'm going to faint purple color as well. First and later I'm going to carry on with the indigo because that is not visible in the bottom of the paper. Just like we have blended the sky area, blend the water area as well. Make sure you have a good paper that is 100 percent garden. And also make sure it stays wet for a long time for you to blend all of these colors together. Now I'm going to use a smaller brush that is number 2, round brush and paint a few more views. And I'm going to keep this for drying now. And I'm going to come back once it's dried. Once the paper is dry, I'm going to take indigo. And then we're going to take my number two brush and I'm going to start painting the background. Mountains tradeoff just using the indigo. I'm going to add and Prussian blue to the mountain as well. Like I said before in one of the class projects, if we add more colors, it gives more depth to this object. And I'm going to add a few plain lines in the same color and the same brush because it shows that there is a piece of islands nearby the mountain. Now it's time to paint the board, and I'm going to use Prussian blue for this. And there are two lines on the both top and bottom. Those lines are, those spaces would be in blue color and in the middle, there will be light, light blue. I'm going to take this brush and I'm going to slightly let the colors bleed into the middle of the boat and I'm not using any extra paint here. The light should be remained. And I'm not going to go for dark blue color here. Just a light touch of blue. Now it's time to paint the top of the bowl. And I'm going to use indigo and Prussian blue for this. As you can see, I'm not getting into more details here. Because whatever I'm painting here is enough ludus. You and see how detailed it look once it's dried. I'm going to just slightly draw a line with Prussian blue in the middle of the boat. And while the board is trying, we're going to move on to painting reflections. We're going for us MID daily reflections. But that doesn't mean that we get to change the colors of the reflections. We're going to paint the reflections in the same color as the boat. So top and bottom part will be in blue color. Now I'm not going to use any color in the middle. We're going to paint the reflection after a bow part of the board. And I'm going to use indigo for this. Now I'm just going to add a few light details with whatever the color that is left on my brush. I'm going to take the Prussian blue and I'm going to paint the fenders, just like we have done in yesterday's landscape. And make sure the boat is completely dry before you paint, the vendors. And the vendors are drying, it's time to add the reflections of the balls above. Now I'm going to take a thin number one brush and I'm going to paint the polls using indigo. I'm going to paint the ropes as well. But I'm going to use a scale. As you guys know. I have a difficulty of painting a straight line. I'm going to quickly paint a few details. Here. I chose to paint a couple of rocks and the reflections, and I'm going to use indigo for this. The boat is completely dried, including the fenders and now it's time to paint the shadows of the vendors. And once that is run, it's time to paint a few birds. Last and final step that is tied to the book and its reflection. Today's class project is in reference of a picture that I have sailed up years ago. Final Thoughts: Boats and reflections was like reaching a milestone for me in my art journey. I have been working since the past three years to perfect everything that I had thought in this 20 days. We have started with a very simple boat and a very simple reflections and gently proceeded with the two boat in a single landscape.
