Capture Places and People with Ami Vitale

Today, we’re thrilled to bring you a new photography class in our School of Photography with National Geographic photographer Ami Vitale. Vitale’s work as an award winning photojournalist has taken her to more than 85 countries where she has experienced everything from civil unrest, poverty, and violence to surreal beauty and the power of the human spirit through her lens. Her distinctive photographs have been exhibited around the world in museums and galleries and published in international magazines including National Geographic, Adventure, Newsweek, Time, and Smithsonian.

In her online class, Documentary Photography: Capturing Places and People, the internationally known photographer takes you on an adventure as she explores connections between cultures and places and the human spirit through photography. Vitale shares her best practices of photojournalism and you’ll create your own hands-on project:  finding the beauty in a person or an experience, and composing your image to tell a story.
