I've been learning art skills for the last 18 months from Skillshare and have really got into using fountain pen ink and acrylic ink after spending time with watercolour.

I recently got a set of 16 Diamine coloured inks and in particular loved 2 colours: Little Micky and Little Lou - blue and yellow. This shows those colours and they green they produce when mixed toegther.

These 2 colours inspired me to do some sea shell shapes which I embellished with fineliner, white gen pen and tombow brush pens for the grey shadow.

I also did some random yellow shapes and scanned both in.

The final pattern - unfortunately I can see a fine white line at the border of the repeat! Must check....no stroke, no fill...

I had a bit of an issue with the shadow when rotating (it wouldn't have been in the right place) so took the shadow off some of the shapes in illustrator so I could re-use them.

I loved LOVED this course, cant tell you how excited I was watching it! I had never used Adobe Illustrator but signed up for the 7 day trial and love the vectorizing process and spent a few days learning how to use Illustrator - as I am a software developer I picked it up fairly quickly although it can be fiddly.

Now I want to be a surface pattern designer!
