Whoa, awesome images! Just want to offer a couple of suggestions: In the second image it looks like there could be quite a bit more detail in some of those dark areas. Play around with opening those up a bit. You might be surprised! Same thing with some of the very light areas in your other pics. Try doing some targeted darkening or intensifying in those areas. Remember, you can't break anything and you will likely discover how you can draw out even more out of these terrific photos.Thanks for posting and keep going!!

Thanks for visiting and for your comment ! Your advice are really important for me and I agree. I think i push to hard in the blacks in some images and thinks I put to much structure on the rock in the lake part too.

Your eye for composition is terrific. I'll post some of my edits so you can see how these images might be modified. On the top image with the peak in the center of the frame, I selected the light area of the photo and masked the rest (see masked photo). I then applied a curve to that area to darken it. You could add a couple more curve or level layers to add more specific (using masks) lights and darks.

For the second darker image of the water, I simply applied a pretty severe curve to lighten it. Without using the original file, I'm very limited as to how much detail can be pulled out of the shadows. If you go back to your original file, you will probably find that you can bring back quite a bit of detail in those shadow areas.

I'll post my edits separately with screenshots of the curves and masks. Again, great composition and these are really solid foundations for great B&amp;W images.

On the second image (the spot was easy to find, but I've being waiting 4 days for the clouds in the sky ;-o)), the shoot is really dark because the sun was really low, just above the lighthouse). I'll try to use your advices to improve all those pictures, and continue working with your techniques.

Ha ha, yeah it can really be frustrating waiting on the perfect light and skies! Something to keep in mind is that many of the masters of photography would visit and revisit the same location numerous times hoping to capture optimal conditions. So don't lose confidence and keep at it! If you're able to go back to that location with good skies &amp; clouds, try increasing your exposure (F-stop and/or shutter speed) to gain more detail in the shadows. Might need a tripod. You're doing great!

Waited 4 days to have some clouds, also got a tripod for slow speed. Just put in my project the original image. I think I should work on the dark and shadows on my raw file. Nikon released NX Studio "recently" and its way better than older version of Capture Nx.

Yes, the original color image is very nice and has a lot going on in the sky. Seems like there is more detail to be had in the shadow areas as well. I would try creating another B&amp;W from the color and pay particular attention to the shadows. Try to keep detail in the dark areas. Check your histogram to make sure you don't have a spike on the left side. It's always good to try out new or updated applications. This way you see what works for your manner of work. Keep posting!
