Mailbox Monster

Mailbox Monster - student project

a year ago, I started this class, followed by the picture book illustration class. I wrote and refined ... and refined ... and refined some more. And after all that, I refined it once more and hit the "submit" button.

I self published it through CreateSpace and it is available on Amazon.

I didn't follow proper protocol and share my work in progress as I went, so here are a few screen shots from the finished book.

And a few lines of copy:

"Knock Knock Knock

There's a monster at the front door. He arrived this afternoon. He grinned and winked and walked right it. I think he's up to no good.

There's a monster in the bathtub.

Splish Splash Splish Splash Slurp

He drank all the shampoo. (And the water, too.) I'm sure he's up to no good."

I've built a simple website and an Amazon Author page that I plan to flesh out in 2016.

And I plan to create a social media presense through facebook and instagram.

And, I plan to work on a second book. (that's my favorite part).

I've really enjoyed this class - my background is in graphic design - so this was an amazing creative outlet that pushed me in new ways. Good to luck to all of you out there writing your first picture book! And, thank you to Christine!
