I travelled more extensively this summer and saw some stunning landscapes in the National Parks. This is a sketch of my son in the Badlands. I didn’t know how to approach drawing and painting canyons, so I took this course. The lessons are brief, yet informative. It is more of an intermediate class and I feel that doing all of the projects will definitely bring me to the next level since I’m not just copying what the teacher is doing, but working out my own composition, experimenting with colors, and adding many layers. I do like my art better when I put this much thought and practice into it. I hope to post more of the projects. I used watercolor pencils, so the skin came out too streaky. Lesson learned!
