Japanese Calligraphy: Kana in Artistic Styles

Japanese Calligraphy: Kana in Artistic Styles - student project

I recently began studying the Japanese language after gaining the confidence to do so. While making my notes, my font style for kana was inconsistent and I felt uncomfortable writing so I searched some YT videos and classes here on Skillshare. I basically found out that I have 3 fonts: Default (from Japanese Calligrapher Takumi on YT), Mixed (default font + my handwriting), and the simple & cutesy style (from this class).

Note: I don't know why but with my printer settings, I can't seem to properly scan my drawn kana phrases. Some looked faded especially with the grey violet and desaturated tones. Maybe it was because I used water-based brush pens, colour pencils, and gel pens.

This was such a great class even though it wasn't that long. I liked the combination of calligraphy, handwriting, and art in one that I was simply enjoying myself while learning.
