In this projects, we explored how to journal in a different way, but illustrating our emotions and our feelings.
Journalling is something I'm trying out to see if I can get my thoughts in order, so I thought I'd give this course a try.
The first exercise was focused on hand lettering. This is something I don't really do, but enjoyed this process. I chose a word that has been used to describe me. Sometimes it's in jest, but other times it's used against me. I try not to be an angry person, but sometimes it's the only way people will listen to what I'm saying.
The second exercise focused on what we hate. I struggled a bit with this one as I was in a really good mood when I sat down to continue with the course, but I was able to get something out of it. The sprouts one made me chuckle when I drew it.
I think THIS was my favourite exercise. It focused on what we wanted. I chose a mixture of things that I wanted now, to achieve long term and what I wanted soon.
This one was a bit emotional for me. I have to make a lot of decisions in my day job, and I try to be as kind and calm as I can, which sometimes means that people (try) to take advantage (hence me getting angry in the first exercise) That being said, it was a bit of a relief to get this down on paper in the form of an image. I feel that it's something I can deal with now.
The Freestyle image I chose was an easel with the word "Draw" on it. I want to improve my drawing skills and mindset, so I thought that including the thing I want to be right there in front of me, it will be a reminder to me that I need to do this, and the flowers show growth (which is what I hope my art will do with practice)
