Rainbows are awesome. Yours actually is a partial second rainbow. Some people believe there are only six continents. ;)

Fantastic patterns of 7 there Sherrie. 7 in s Perfect Number in the Bible. With the 7 Musical Tones, we have all the complete tones to create myriads of songs! So to play by ear, we need to only concentrate on these 7 tones!

As for the accidentals, they appear in a lot of pop and movie songs, and that's what makes the songs sound beautiful with those added colors.  To play by ear, students need to go for pure sounds first, the pure 7 tones before they move on to accidentals. Good question David.
