Project: Create a YouTube-Ready Video

In this project, you’ll apply the skills you’ve learned throughout the class to edit a complete YouTube video. The goal is to showcase your editing techniques, storytelling skills, and mastery of audio and color grading. You’ll have the opportunity to get feedback from fellow students by sharing your work in the project gallery.

Project Steps:

Download and Set Up:
- Download Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
- Set up your workspace following the instructions in the class.
Practice Basic Editing Techniques:
- Import your footage and practice basic editing cuts, transitions, and trimming.
- Experiment with text overlays and basic animations.
Exporting and Presets:
- Export a sample video using the settings covered in the class.
- Create and save a custom export preset for future projects.
Edit a YouTube Short:
- Using the guidelines provided in the class, create a 60-second YouTube Short. Focus on making the first few seconds engaging.
- Save your final video as an MP4 file.
Edit a Long-Form YouTube Video:
- Choose a topic and edit a longer video (3-10 minutes) using the techniques learned, including storytelling, audio enhancements, and color grading.
- Apply transitions, effects, and any custom animations from the class.
Create Your Capstone Project:
- Combine all the skills you’ve learned to produce a final YouTube video (either a short or long-form video). This should showcase your best editing work.

How to Share Your Project:

Export your final video as an MP4 file (either the YouTube Short or the long-form video).
Upload your video to YouTube (as unlisted), and share the link in the project gallery.
In your project post, include:
- A brief description of your video and the techniques you used.
- Any challenges you faced and how you overcame them.
- What you learned from the class and how you plan to apply it to future projects.

Feel free to watch and leave constructive feedback on at least one other student project. Sharing your thoughts and suggestions will help everyone improve their editing skills.
