Who's up for some practice?

I realized it's been a while since I've tested out my own palette, so I thought I'd take a moment to do this with all of you. It's really a good practice to get a better handle on how much water to add to your paint for different color densities.

This practice also reminded me of how much I love phthalo blue straight from the tube! It reminds me of the ocean depths. If only there were more things in the world to use this color on. :) The cerulean blue is also one of my favorites, but the yellows are coming in and the greens so nicely too.

How neat did your squares come out?

These squares are on a 9x12 inch page. They are 1/2 inch wide and tall and 1/4 inch apart from each other. Approximately 1/2 inch from the sides.

You can see my scrap paper here to test the density of the colors before putting them in the squares.

I have some extra squares left, maybe it's time to approach assignment #2!

Let's mix those colors!
