Lisa's Lemon Soap was shared in the project's tab. The soap looked perfect from pictures. The soap was translucent indicating that the soap was completely cooked with few rogue fatty acids and the next picture was of a completely clear soap. Great work! Liquid soap making can be challenging, but easy as long as you measure correctly and cook at the appropriate temperature for long enough.

If you have made any products from the videos I would love to see them. Teaching in person classes are a lot of work, but the reward is to see all the neat things people create during the class. Online, I don't have regular feedback.

Heading into fall I would like to record some new content on how to make your own soap formulation using some of the various online calculators and of course finish the recipe book in time for Christmas.

If you are thinking about making your own Christmas gifts, now is a good time to start thinking about what you'd like to give in order to get all the chemicals ordered. The shampoo bars were super popular with friends, so that's what everyone on my list might receive.

The inspiration for them came from a person I met while on a trip to see the polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba. C-Jae Breiter from the CBC Gem TV show Arctic Vets hosted us at the research centre. We started chatting and she asked if I knew about shampoo bars. When I got home, I looked them up and made a batch. This year, when I went back to Winnipeg to attend convocation from the University of Manitoba, I was able to personally give her a shampoo and conditioner bar.
