In this course you’ll be introduced to a series of measuring tools and strategies that will take the guesswork out of the figure drawing process. You'll learn how to determine the proportions of any pose and draw them accurately on the page. You’ll also learn how to use angle sighting to triangulate the location of any conceivable point on the figure.

This course is perfect for artists of any medium looking to improve the accuracy of their figure drawings.

This course builds upon the tools and techniques taught in Brent’s Measuring & Proportion course in the original Art & Science of Drawing series. This course is part of The Art & Science of Figure Drawing series. It is recommended that you have taken Gesture, the first course in the series before taking this course. It is highly recommended you have completed both the Measuring & Proportion and the Gesture courses before taking this course.

THE ART & SCIENCE of FIGURE DRAWING series is overflowing with powerful insights into the figure drawing process and offers some of the clearest, most accessible figure drawing instruction available. Many of the tools and techniques you'll learn here are rarely seen outside of private art academies.

For the techniques taught in this course to be truly useful you need to incorporate them into your overall drawing process. Brent highly recommends using the practice reels in the Gesture course and the Volume & Structure course to incorporate these measuring and proportion techniques into your overall figure drawing process. Drawing from these timed practice reels is an excellent way to speed up your measuring process. This combination of accuracy and efficiency will bring your figure drawing to a whole new level.
