First, practice the warm-up exercises from the lessons number 3, 4 and 5. After you feel confident with creating a smooth blending of colors, creating watercolor textures and painting veins, move on to the detailed drawing of hydrangea. You can find a step-by-step instructions about how to create a drawing in the lesson number 6.

In order to align the original reference with my own vision, I cropped the original reference and slightly adjusted the colors in order to create a harmonic and interesting composition. If you wish to use this version of the original reference, a please find it attached right.

After you’re ready with the drawing, relax, concentrate and immerse yourself in watercolor painting and, the most important, enjoy every moment and every movement of the brush!

The list of art supplies that I use in the class:

1. PAPER: cotton watercolour paper (cold pressed, grain fin texture) and regular sketching paper. Preferably A3 size.

2. BRUSHES: number 6 and number 8, one thin pointed brush (the thinnest brush that i have is 0/5), one old flat brush for paint splattering.

3. WATERCOLORS: quinacridone pink, opera pink, ultramarine blue, cobalt, indanthrene blue (or any other dark cold blue), lemon yellow and alizarin crimson (or any other deep dark red color). 4. WATER CONTAINER
