For our class project, you will be creating at least one short form product video in a style that we discuss in this class.

Here is what you will need:

Choose a product that you like and use regularly! Much easier to make a video on something you like versus something you do not like. Perhaps it is something you already recommend to everyone.
Prepare your talking points
Film in the simplest way possible
Edit and post it in the class so we can share what we’ve done and maybe even get some new product recommendations
Can be vertical or landscape
Under 60 seconds
Tools Required:
- Something to film on, like your phone
- Space for footage
- Space to film (blank wall/ clean room with a window)
- Use any video editor you prefer but if you are just starting out I recommend CapCut because there are (as of the time of releasing this class) good free versions for both iPhones, Androids, and Desktop

Once you have your product, think about some of the following questions and how you can share that information the most efficient, concise, and fun way YOU can.

Types of videos you can make and the questions you can answer about the product.

Explainer: What is this product?
Unboxing: What comes with this product?
How-to: What are some ways to use this product?
Testimonial: What do you think about this product? What was your experience?

Styles of videos you can make

Talking Head: Talk to us about the product!
Demonstration: Show the product in action!
Product Showcase: Share the best or most important features with us!

Do note that not all types and styles are going to work for every product but there is some combination that will work. What I don't want for us in this class is one big long video that covers absolutely everything about a product. We don't need to work that hard! Pick one question and one style then make that video!
