For the class project, you'll create a mixed-media abstract painting using the techniques and skills you've learned in class.

Choose your color palette: Review the color samplers we created in class and select your favorite colors. Think about how you want the colors to blend and flow in your painting.
Practice your marks: Use your favorite mark-making tools to create a series of marks on a piece of paper. Experiment with different pressures and angles to see how the marks vary.
Apply your watercolors: Begin applying your watercolors to the paper, working wet on wet and allowing the colors to blend and flow. Use your favorite marks to create interesting textures and details.
Add your mixed media: Once your watercolor layer is dry, add additional layers of mixed media, such as pastels, gold ink, and posca pens, to add depth and interest to your painting.
Finish your painting: Step back and assess your painting, making any final adjustments or additions as needed.
