Yesterday was July 4th.

It's independence day. And even though it relates to America's independence day...

I want to talk about a different type of independence.

The day I left the record label and became an independent artist

It wasn't scary at all

Why

Because I was already acting as a record label for the passed 7 albums.

I was making the music, setting up the photo shoot, creating music videos and handing in the finished artwork.

The only thing the label did was give me a SMALL advance and help with marketing

But they owned me and took MOST of the money which I could have just made on my own.

NEVER AGAIN

You don't need a record label..

All you need is great music and fans

To celebrate independent artists that aren't waiting for some record label to approve their dreams
