Watercolor Waterscapes is all about taking one step forward towards exploring the energy of nature by painting movements in water. This is an intermediate to advanced level class, though it is completely well equipped with lessons where we discuss about the background washes, layering and creating the illusion of movements in water. Still there are a few recommendations added at the end.

The class is broken down into various lessons which will enable you to finally paint two class projects given below. Into each one of them we will be applying all the concepts learned in the techniques section:

1. Ripples in the water

A balanced composition of painting the sky, mountains and water
Working in layers for the mountains and the sky
Use different techniques like wet on wet & wet on dry to create expressive water
Limited palette Exercise

2. Leap of faith

Creating the background washes
Adding sea animals like Dolphins in a composition
Understanding the transition of light in clouds and dolphins
Working on the ripples and shadows of jumping Dolphins into the water.

*Caution - Watercolor has its own randomness and creating waters like a photograph is not the aim of this class. Understanding the movements and how adding them in our seascape painting is going to be the sole focus.

**If you are taking this class for the first time I would highly recommend you to take two of my other classes "Watercolor Ocean Waves" and "Easy and Simple way to paint Clouds of 7 different Types"

Recommendation:

Watch it on a bigger screen to understand the subject better, like a laptop or a desktop.
Use any kind of watercolor material available with you except the paper which should be acid free, minimum 300gsm/ 140lb and100% cotton for best results.
Watching the lessons first (at any speed you feel comfortable), then come back and attempt the painting. At the first go its good to have an overview and the second go it helps to paint better.
Both the projects are uploaded as an image in the resource section go ahead and download it for your reference.
You do not need to take the class together you can break it into three parts Background wash/creating movements , Ripples in the water and Leap of Faith. This way you do not need to rush and still be able to understand the class at your speed.
