Whether you've never played before, need to fill in some gaps or if you're ready for some new challenges, Fender Play Essentials has something to offer.
In these bite-sized courses, you’ll learn the fundamental skills to unlock 1000s of iconic songs. All you need is a guitar and a pick for the vast majority of the lessons. A strap may be helpful for holding the guitar.

Praxisnahes Kursprojekt
- We’ll start with holding the guitar, picking and naming the strings - plus the basics of tuning.
- We’re going to cover fretting notes. With these skills, you’ll be able to play any note you want along the neck, unlocking all sorts of new riffs and melodies.
- You’ll learn how to read guitar tablature. This simple, universal method makes understanding what notes to play a breeze. You’ll also work on playing in time - since this is just as important as playing the right notes!
- You’re going to learn 2 easy chords, then play them as part of your first song! We’ll also cover how to read a chord diagram so you can understand how to play any new chord.
- What are minor chords? In course 5 you’ll learn Em and Am, leaving you with 5 versatile chords used in almost every song. You'll also learn how to identify Major and Minor chords by ear.
