Über diesen Kurs
Welcome to your hands-on sound design lab! In this class, you’ll learn how to take any sound — a vocal, field recording, synth tone, or something random — and turn it into a vibrant, expressive instrument using Logic Pro’s Quick Sampler. This isn’t about making a full track — it’s about learning to shape, modulate, and give motion to a single sound using envelopes, filters, and LFOs.
By the end of this short class, you’ll have crafted a unique, animated patch using just one sample — and along the way, you’ll gain essential creative skills you can apply to beats, textures, or full productions.
You’ll explore how to:
-
Load and prepare a sample in Quick Sampler Classic mode
-
Shape sound with amplitude and filter envelopes
-
Use LFOs to animate filter cutoff and pitch
-
Understand Envelope Depth and how it affects filter motion
-
Build dynamic, responsive patches using the Mod Matrix
-
Combine techniques to create alive, evolving sounds
Why You Should Take This Class
This class is perfect for producers, beatmakers, and synth-curious creatives who want to understand what makes a sound feel alive. These core techniques are the foundation of sound design — and once you master them, you’ll never hear samples the same way again.
Whether you’re making electronic music, hip hop, ambient textures, or experimental art, knowing how to control a sound's shape and motion is key to finding your own sonic voice.
Who This Class Is For
-
Beginner to intermediate Logic Pro users
-
Producers wanting to level up their sound design
-
Creatives exploring synthesis, modulation, and envelopes
No advanced experience is required — if you’re comfortable navigating Logic Pro’s interface, you’re ready.
You’ll need:
-
Logic Pro (any recent version with Quick Sampler)
-
One audio sample of your choice (voice, field recording, synth, etc.)
That’s it — no extra plugins or gear required.

Vollständiges Profil ansehenPraxisnahes Kursprojekt
Your challenge: Take a single audio sample and transform it into an expressive instrument using Quick Sampler in Logic Pro.
You’ll shape the sound using envelopes, filters, and LFOs — just like in class. The goal isn’t perfection or complexity — it’s creating something with life, texture, and motion.
Steps to Complete the Project:
-
Choose your sound.
Grab any sample — a vocal snippet, a synth tone, a field recording, or even a voice memo. -
Load it into Quick Sampler (Classic mode).
-
Shape the envelope.
Adjust Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release in the Amp section to define how the sound plays over time. -
Add filter modulation.
Use the Mod Matrix to assign LFO 1 to Filter Cutoff. Try a triangle waveform around 1 Hz for subtle motion. -
Add pitch movement.
Assign LFO 2 to Pitch, around ±100 cents for some expressive wobble or vibrato. -
Adjust Env Depth and Filter.
Use a 12dB Creamy LP filter and play with Env Depth to control how far the filter opens. Use the visual envelope display to match the sound’s shape to your desired vibe. -
Refine and experiment.
Tweak everything — envelope curves, LFO rates, modulation amounts — and see how the sound evolves.
What to Share in the Project Gallery:
-
A screenshot of your Mod Matrix and envelope settings
-
A few lines describing:
-
What sample you used
-
What creative choices you made
-
How the final sound feels
-
-
(Optional) A short audio or video clip (via YouTube, SoundCloud, etc.)
Tip:
Start simple. It’s not about complexity — it’s about energy and intention. Even the tiniest bit of modulation can bring a static sound to life.
This is your sandbox — explore, shape, and sculpt.
I’m excited to hear how your sound comes alive!
