Your Curriculum

  1. 01

Master lighting and make the most of your gear.

Understanding light is fundamental to taking a beautiful photograph. In week one, Tabitha will share advanced insights for using natural and artificial light, and she’ll take you into her home studio to help you shoot amazing photos in either scenario. You’ll also go live with Tabitha to discuss how to get the most out of your specific photography setup and how to get affordable access to gear with platforms like MPB.

  2. 02

    Compose captivating images.

In week two, you’ll learn advanced composition techniques and use props to make your photos stand out. You’ll shoot-along with Tabitha to create a compelling photo series and receive feedback to improve your work. You’ll finish the week with a backdrop you can use in your studio (and even make yourself!), along with the confidence to set up a great photo shoot in a variety of settings.

  3. 03

    Find your style.

In week three, you’ll dive into editing and gather inspiration to hone in on your personal style. Tabitha will cover key stylistic elements - from color theory to minimal/maximal approaches. You’ll analyze images alongside Tabitha, then edit your own photos in Lightroom and Photoshop to bring your style to life. You’ll finish the week with advanced editing techniques under your belt and some stunning photos to show for it.

  4. 04

    Get your work out there.

In the final week, you’ll learn how to grow your audience - whether it’s your social media following or your client list. You’ll learn how to build your portfolio, share your story, and work at the professional level. Tabitha will also share her secrets for making your work pop. At the end of the course, you’ll bring your work together in a cohesive series and receive feedback to continue your growth as a photographer.
