Passionate about Writing

I like David's straight no-chaser style. Straight and gets right to the point. Less filler and more instruction.
A good, concise class on the necessary steps of editing your manuscript or book. If you can't afford a professional copy editor, don't solely rely on your on skills. Too many times I see book reviews on Amazon where comments are made about proofreading errors and bad grammar. Do what you can to find at least 3 other eyes to edit your book. The instructor points this out throughout the course. I wish all new and soon to be new authors would take this class and apply it.

Currently on the How To Publish An eBook website, I am giving away a FREE online course for anyone who is interested in making a living (or at least a part-time income) from self-publishing.

Hello there, my name is David James Ault and I am now teaching over 50 classes on the Skillshare platform in the self-publishing and course creation niches.

I am a British ex-pat living in Slovakia, in the heart of Europe, with my wonderful Slovak wife, our three children and our English Bullterrier, Shaggy.

Having graduated with a BSc (Hons) Degree in European Business, the first part of my career was spent in marketing, especially in the tourism industry, and during that time, I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, at the CIM.

In 2001, I moved from the UK to Slovakia, where I set up a tourism portal about Slovakia and wrote travel related articles and books. I also began writing my first novel.

During the last 15 years, I have written a number of non-fiction books in a variety of niches and set up a number of successful websites to promote my various interests. More recently, I have also been writing fiction and non-fiction books for teenagers and young adults and, in 2015, I set myself the goal of becoming a full-time author within the next couple of years.

I have an eclectic range of interests, including languages, writing, history, online marketing, design and travel. I also have a passion for cooking and eating healthy food, as well as the traditional Slovak dishes I have discovered, whilst living in the heart of Europe.

I have created a number of online courses for many of my niches and I have set up both the How To Publish An eBook and the Teach Someone A Lesson websites to impart some of the knowledge I have learned over the years to my students.
