About This Class
In the same way farmers' plant seeds in fertile soil to reap the rewards of fruits and produce; you too should employ the same strategy when promoting your book.
A farmer decides on the kind of crops he wants, he then picks the seeds, prepare the soil, plants the seeds and nurtures that soil until he sees a seedling which requires further nurturing until it bears fruit and it doesn't end there for he wants to continue reaping fruits! How does this translate to your book?
The “soil” is your book and it MUST be fertile. In other words, your book must be content rich, meet the needs of the target audience and can either allow the reader to live vicariously (fiction) or solve a problem (non - fiction)
The “seed” is that free offer, giveaway or personal bribe that offers sumptuous value to the reader.
The “nurturing” is that relationship you will build over time when prospects opt in to your list to get access to that “seed” you will be offering.
The “crop” is the result you want or expect to have after building that relationship over time or when persons opt in.
How would you know what kind of crops you want? It depends. Each author will want different things. Some may want persons to purchase their book or a buzz of interest around their book that will eventually lead to sales or they may want persons to know about other products or services they have to offer. Whatever the expectation, the author must decide and plan on the objective he/she wants to achieve so as to ensure that the right type of seeds are chosen and planted.
