the final pack of 2016. .. (phew, I was running out of the good stuff!)

I need to have a Christmas scout around for the websites and tools I'll be using in 2017 over the holiday period as I feel I need to get myself into that discovery groove again, it's always a good idea as a media maker to see what is trending out there and what people are getting into.

I remember when I discovered mp3 compression for the first time, taking a wave file and making it smaller but sounding exactly the same, that was a game changer for the internet and distribution.

of course, napster happened and we spread audio all over the globe for free but that's another thing altogether, with disruption becomes a moment of panic as everything changes all over again! :)

in this course then. . .

  • in 2017 we are going to change the way web tools packs work - interactive!
  • some tools for you and your team to maybe use for comms next year
  • another pack of five blockchain powered technologies to check out
  • the random collection, the sites that just slid in at the last moment!

I really thank you all for making the last six months on skillshare really awesome for me as a mini course teacher, I'm hoping to expand on it moving forward in 2017! :)

1. 1.0 - introduction to pack eight: another new course today. Boxing Day Day 26 6 days. Let off the Advent calendar. December 2016 6 Left Feels really good to be on the latter and rather than at the start, this is hot on the heels off the awesome packs six and seven. If you haven't checked him out, please do go back. Never look at the link. Web tall packs the awesome packs for six and seven. They were really good ones. This is the final one off 2016 and I'm just throwing together some of the last things I've seen recently. I've not really group them together. There's a couple of groups in here. At the end of it, I've kind of found five links. I just jumped out at me recently, especially the one at the very end about the electric bike. I think is gonna be very interesting to you in 2017. We're gonna change the way that we make these Web tall PACs. They're gonna go completely interactive, and I want to get into that briefly before I throw some links at you. Some tools for you and your team to may be used for Communications. And this year I mentioned some of these in previous packs. But I've also gone back into this, done a bigger, deeper dive into it. Another pack of five Blockchain technologies. Another pack off five Blockchain power technologies to check out. And finally, the random collection. Because this is the last pack of 2016 you have to remember, this is eight packs, 20 links and each packs a lot of links, especially when I've hand picked, um curated. I'm gone through all of them. This is the random collection of ones that just slid in at the very end of 2016. Have you enjoyed this course And thank you for your attention how you watch all the way through. 2. 1.1 - update on packs for 2017: all right, so we'll be going interactive next year with every course we launch will be doing a Q and A Maybe a couple of days after at least once a week or once every two weeks, we will pull up the courses and any questions that you had if you took part in the project instead of doing daily, I'll be switching to maybe doing one really good course once weak, and I'll be along the course. But I'll also be into leaving it with other kind, Of course, is that I'll be doing at the start of January, and I'm pretty excited to share that with you because I think it's gonna be called in a deep dive into the your girls on the tools that I often just tell you about. Until you go have a look at why they're good actually gonna log into them and use them and show you how to make something from doing a Twitter. Add to an instagram post to whatever it may be that I'm telling you about the tool. I'll actually show you a case study of using that told how long it takes tow, learn, and hopefully you'll see a real world example will give you a bit more motivation to go and test it yourself. Completely new way off presenting these Web tool packs. I've had a few ideas and I've been taking, um, in my little notebook here I go out every so often to this place, this coworking spot, and I've wrote a whole bunch, like three or four pages off how I'm gonna do the next Web tools me to go do a bit of graphic design and go do a bit of animation, but I think the presentation of them will be better. It also creates an opportunity to do the axe live. If I need to do packs life for any particular reason, Maybe some new information comes out. Maybe the keynotes apple keynotes. I am looking at doing more live streaming next year to get a new device. In January February, we got a couple of new cameras and various bits of hardware that I'm bringing on to make better quality video. Better quality audio could also be doing oneto one help sessions. People have taken one of the premium courses. I will be available once a week to go on to video chat be using appear involved, stashed the show to appear in the show and you build to drop in there and ask me various questions in the chat room. If people are not there, then I would just stay in there for half an hour an hour and I'll go through some topics and I'll just do a recording off the live space so that you can come in in a future course and maybe sitting ask a few questions. Hopefully, I've got the answers for you. And if I don't have the answers for you, I will go away and research it, find you a process that you can do those things efficiently. Also gonna be distributing courses on the videos and the tutorials to how to use all the things that I'm making across different platforms this year. So it won't just be skill share of the skill share. It will be Amazon. It'll be you to me will be YouTube, and I'm going to find a better way to do that Distribution be software tool or a way to just push those things out automatically using something like drop box. I'm gonna find a way maybe get a coder to build tow hook into each one of these different platforms. Pens. Which ones have got a P eyes and which ones we can actually talk to and try and build some kind of management tool? I'm not gonna make one course one size fits all. I'll be making a course with additional parts that go to different platforms. Amazon is gonna be longer form content. Unity is gonna be long form content. And I'm gonna be doing something in special with skill share, starting hopefully from the first of January. If I can get things rolling in time, I need to get the set set up and I need to get some equipment before the start of the new year. I'm not sure if it's going to arrive in time, so I might have to use what I've got now and then build up to it in the middle of January. It's also my birthday in generator. Don't forget, sign upon the premium. That would be that would give me a awesome birthday 3. 1.2 - super rad communication tools: so some links for you for calms bold dot Co is a internal blawg. Field teams knowledge and big ideas. How many times have you been at the bar or out of a meal and of a week that you've gone out and just hung out? Gone bowling with the team? You're talking about great ideas, some of the knowledge that happens in and around the office. Maybe you go to a co working space and you talk to other freelancers entrepreneurs. Wouldn't it be great to have, like an internal block system very similar to a public blogged, but only for your team to see, like an Internet log on most Internet software I've ever used has been clunky and horrible , or is this seems to almost take that kind of medium root? This is kind of like a private medium block, so if you're looking to at least get your team, your existing team, into social media into blogging. But they're a bit scared about going public being analyzed there, judge that at least it could do this in a controlled environment pirate box that Sisi like to get into using this a little bit more in summer next year. Anonymous oflife file sharing communication system There's been lots of other ones that have been spawned off this pirate box hard boxes, this very cheap box to mate with a USB WiFi plug in, which allows you to just set it up as this almost wireless network that people can connect to and get files from. And I'm interested to see how I could utilize that. Maybe four courses love to have all my courses on their various different places around the local area. And have all these boxes just sit in in one of these places where people can go in with their laptops and they can connect to this pirate boxes and download my video file so they can just do it all over a wireless network. I don't have to use their own data mobile data, or they could just go into the coffee shop and watch it from a locally streamed box rather than over the Net thing. That brings up some interesting conversations about offline online content. I'm excited to do a lot more training, maybe with local libraries as well. This year, meet franz dot com Ever wanted to pull together all of your chap platforms. Great, tall. I think it's for Mac and we knows, but I definitely know it's for Mac. Having all of your notifications in one place from all those different networks is great because I have a message. I have slack. I have Gmail, all of these different platforms that can now call them together in one space and just have this really nice. Then notification ball whenever somebody sends me a message from any one of those platforms , so people can be remotely, anywhere now. And I think this is great for small businesses. Well, because people come in at different entry points. Tribe dot PM This is another program that once I get my new phone this year, I'll be using this a lot. So if you want to be doing, want one video chat, if you are already premium member and you kind of want on demand with me in terms of asking questions, grab yourself a copy of Tribe Doctor PM. I'll be sharing my u R L My log in with you in 2017. This is, I think, one of the best video messaging platforms out there for IOS and android right now. I think it's gonna go real big in 2017. Finally, journalist general L. I Don esti real time broadcast text, photos, videos and voices using telegram you might have heard of. Telegram in the News Telegram seems to be exploding right now. In the last couple of years, in terms of the go to place to put content out to groups and journalists is a Adam bought that you can talk to and post things through that bought to your all the groups and pages. Think it's gonna be really nice for pushing content out, especially if you're a really spread out from maybe franchise business. This could be useful for you. 4. 1.3 - smattering of blockchain links: Let's talk about some Blockchain power technology, shall we? I'm pretty addicted to watch, especially after seeing Bitcoin nearly getting up to $1000 a massive jump last month. Bitcoin is just exploded, and I think it's gonna go even higher. One of the tools that I have seen about six months ago, it seems to be getting up to Version two now. I always like to look back into these when they go to. Another version is store gelato Io encrypted cloud storage You can rent or sell to if you have a super fast connection and you have terabytes of space that is available. Maybe you bought a 10 terabyte ray drive on your own using two or three of atrial video files. You can actually rent out some of that space using this Blockchain powered encrypted cloud storage. And people see this transparent storage system and you'll never know what's being pulling back and forth on your drugs. It's all encrypted. You actually get paid or renting out that space. I'm seeing a lot off technology enabled social sharing and and I think that's gonna explode bigger in 2070 deep in the minds dot com. If you want to buy some hardware equipment to mind different crypto currencies, this is the place to go. I found a few of these recently, but this one seems to sell some X equipment that's been run for like six months or 12 months is still capable of doing decent mining on some of the new script. Kryptos Bitcoin where dot nets have a great range off hardware critter wallets. If you are getting into Bitcoin for the first time, please do consider getting a hardware wallet. You don't want to be losing that money, especially when Bitcoin is going through the roof of the moment in terms of Price library. Do I owe? This isn't live yet. I'm getting quite excited for this, Alexandra, that I, oh, is the media one that I'm using, not being very reliable for the first couple of times that I played with. It do need to deep dive into that again. I'll be doing a longer course. That's gonna be one of my first ones in 2017 about storing immediate in the Blockchain and charging for charging for access to it with Bitcoin watch, read and play in a decentralized digital library controlled by the community. Very similar toe. Alexandria Library. I. Oh, it's not up yet. Still waiting for when that's going to go live. I'm hoping that's gonna happen in early 2017. Finally, coin. Where's dot com Force last crypto currency. You can work out the pricing profits off. Work out mining versus Bitcoin profit, especially now with all the different price increases. It's also some new crypt auto currency coming online for different applications, and it's always good to get into these early. 5. 1.4 - last minute links for 2016: to my final batch off links that kind of just snuck in that last minute. It's one I think is very useful if you have a small business, small company and you're interested in ranking very well in Google. This guy Matthew barbie dot com, did a study into one million pages, and he gives you a breakdown of about eight or nine different things that you should be doing with your Web pages in 2017 to be ranked plenty of traffic coming from those Google robots to get some good Google juice the gun shuttle out Matthew barbie dot com four slash ranking dash in dash Google. Next one is on that I hopefully will get to use across different cities in Europe and America next year. Transit app dot com looks perfect for people who are not familiar with the local area. If you're commuting, say, for instance, in New York living outside of New York, maybe in Brooklyn, and you wanna be able to travel in lots of different methods of ways to get around the city having an app that kind of pushes notifications to you. Get off here, go here, jump on the next time you got five minutes, you better leave now, having those little prompts having those little nudges. I tend to be on public transport on a train and constantly looking at my phone for the next stop or where I need to get to next. So having something like this that works in over 125 cities around the world is definitely an apple will be playing with. So is this a year for BitTorrent again? Recently, they've released the BitTorrent Live on IOS, which is for life streaming off mainly video shows, live shows, festivals, concerts. And I think that's could be the year that bit torrent with the right management crew. Really get the torrent technology into people's homes into people's lives, like they realize that it's a really stable network. The more people that are on it, the better picture quality better the streams gonna be. And I think we need that in a In a world of the DOS information issues, routers hacked. I think having a technology like bit torrent, which is very resilient, very secure thing, we're going to start to need some of that technology as a transit around the Web 16 Best of 16 dot photos post your best 16 photos on Instagram 2016. I was in shock that I'd only posted 64 pictures in total the 2060. That's because I've not got a smartphone that had a smartphone for about a year, but I'm shocked because I used to post so many pictures per year. Used to love going out taking photos, and I kind of miss it. So I'm looking forward to getting back into that. This is a way off automatically picks your 16. Most Favorited liked commented on photos of 2016 makes a grid of them for you, which you can save the smartphone and then upload to instagram. This one's really nice. I told you this is the final one off this list. Andi, I've got a big obsession about electric cars, electric bikes, everything that can be run on renewables, having a carport with a solar panel roof on it. The charge up my transportation sounds like the best thing in the world. If I've never had to go to a petrol station again, that would be wonderful, mainly because I get influenced by rubbish in the petrol station. Not having to actually visit one at all would be amazing. This adds another dimension to electric transport altogether. Light Rider toe ap works dot de four slash e n for the English website Super lightweight Electric Transport This is a three D printed bike. You can actually get a three D printed bike. Super, super like I think it was like 35 kilograms with a fairly chunky electric battery on their on. Duh. I'm really excited for 2017. What's gonna come out on home revolution off, creating your own three D printed articles and to have something like electric bite, which are normally heavy when an electric bike battery goes? It could be really difficult to write it. Having something that is really light and maybe you can even peddle it after the factories gone is going to be a bit of a game changer, especially in city life, where we do very small runs 6. 1.5 - take part in the project: right, Then a five step project. Go to your project in the bar below par. Awesome Project Title in the project Works based. Be creative. Do you use these links in your daily work? I would love to know. Do you have similar links? Gone onto one of these sites going? Yeah, this is good, but I like this better. I would love to know. I love sharing links. Make a sweet cover image. If you don't have one glove to Nome, adopt pictures. Any of those are CC zero images that are free to use. Click on the save button and you're done. 7. 1.6 - the roundup: All right then. I've doubled my income for December, which is awesome, and I've learned a lot. That's the most important thing.
