About This Class

we did it. the final day.

this has been an achievement for me to tick off the books, a mini course for 31 days straight on skillshare, mini course building, making in keynote, editing, shooting, distribution, sharing on social. i did it all, no help. i just got on with it and went for it. it was painful at times because it seemed to consume everything i did in december but then i look back and realise that i really tested myself. i wanted to see if it was something i could do.

the timing it seems was perfect. . i learned a lot. .

  • why people took the courses and how much they watched
  • why using facebook groups to advertise is paramount
  • issues that can go wrong in the recording process
  • where i can improve my courses and up the quality process
  • that i need to work on engagement and interactivity
  • that i CAN DO SOMETHING when i put my mind too it over a determined period!

going into 2017 i feel i'm a better instructor, i learned a lot, i saw slow but steady growth, you kept coming back for more and the numbers kept going in the up position. just six months into this quest and i feel i'm learning so much more about topics that were merely just a blip on the horizon those months back.

and now we are here, rolling over to the 1st of january 2017 tomorrow.

what better way to drop a course about finding a new job in the new year, this micro and final course of the year is to get you motivated, to consider your options, to give you some ideas of what are going to be the jobs to chase down next year and if your going alone or just got made redundant some ideas of how you can hit the ground running.

if you succeed, i succeed. it's as simple as that.

let's see in 2017 together!

1. 1.0 - time for a reboot in 2017: okay, It's the final one. It is New Year's Eve. I'm super pumped to have finished my Aven calendar for December 2016. It's been interesting. Liberating s so much information out of it. I've doubled my enrollments. It's awesome and I feel like have achieved something by setting myself a target on going towards it were probably, ah, 100 away from the 1000 followers that I needed to get or wanted to get on and probably on course, Number 83 84 now. So getting closer to that 1000 followers and 100 courses, those were the targets I set myself and I've done it and feel really good about that. It's the final day off, 2016 going on to the first off January 2017. Tomorrow. Maybe you're looking for a fresh start in 2017 So I thought I put a little course together about finding a new job. New work on may be considering your options in 2017 so maybe it's time for a bit of a reboot, a fresh start, maybe on a new job and direction in life in general. Five job websites that I used to find additional work on a daily tasks being prepared for the new style off remote working that you might have to suddenly do in 2017. Looking at the top five job areas we will see expanding in 2017. Finally, a little bit of a different idea. How about doing some volunteering instead next year? So let's get into this final course for the end off the advent for 2016. 2. 1.1 - five places to find work today: up work has become my daily driver for work and building up clients daily in there. That's a really good success in the last month. Actually, in the last two months off 2016 building up a client base, signing what works, how to interact with the client, went to up sell when to get in touch, went to leave it alone. And I'll probably be doing them or expanded course about what happens when you do a certain amount of work for Klein on the charges that drop on our different when you work for a client for any period of time. If you're looking to do any kind of remote work and you have some digital skills, maybe you're a video editor. Audio engineer. Do you have a look at work? There is lots of work surprisingly on there. I've never been in a situation at Christmas or New Year where have had regular work coming in, and there is plenty of work to bid on and get quotes in on up works. And to check that out. Big Mob is also a great site if you are a video editor, especially if you do motion graphics There is a lot of work out there from agencies, creative agencies, people wanting video and graphics for instagram stories on Snapchat. If you're interested in doing kind of that remote work to check that out there looking for people all around the world, families great if you're a teacher, if you're looking to teach English, maybe more people around the world going check out camera is perfect for English teachers looking for regular students, and they pay minutes, which is nice. Universal job search here in the UK is a great website for you to go and find jobs that are out there. Very good. Search engine has been iterated on throughout the year. Now got to the point where it pulls in lots of jobs from other different services as well. Great for people looking for a brand new job in 2017 people per hour. Fancy hands. These are great sites to get piecemeal work, so hire workers or even so, your own skills creating the digital asset for remote customers. These can often pay per hour or a set price per job 3. 1.2 - tips for working from home: some of the ideas that I suggest from working from home build a quiet space, but do turn up like the commute is from bed to the office. Yes, you may be saving money from not having to put fuel in the car and commute or get on a train. Waste two hours or four hours of your day commuting in and out of a city. You still need to turn up at that job at that, that room, that space as if you're going into work and be very easy to be pulled in by your house by the immunities of your house, the leisure activities of your house wandering around from kitchen toe office space. And sometimes I would suggest just getting out off. That's the environment because it creates almost like his cabin fever, of being stuck in the house solitary as a solo entrepreneur working away from this space. So you got a kind of you gotta have a mental shift in your head to be able to focus as if you're working in an office environment. Every day can be different. Be prepared to set the busy flag on those Web services on the notifications very, very easy to get sidetracked into a YouTube video into a Twitter comment or Facebook comment and then look up. And then hours of God have to set a very tight regime to make sure that you get those hours . I end up doing a lot more hours than just normal job, like an eight hour shift. I try my best to do a 12 hour shift every single day. Reach out weekly to those clients that you've worked for in the past in case they've got some repeat business. Most of the time, they just need a bit of a nudge in a reminder. Or can you remember what we did last time? You want me to build on that? Is this new service? Would you do? A newsletter makes a graphic showing Tech cara these events most the time. They are very busy, and they need assistance and need help, but they're not reaching out because they're stuck in the middle of all that work cycle. Don't forget to reach out to those clients. Seper Weekly newsletter Off those tasks, jobs and roles that you've been doing and able to perform, this highlights toe other people out there looking for somebody just like you. It gives them data to go on that you're available and able to do that kind of style of work . Maintain the equipment you are using to deliver your digital work. Don't forget to keep on top of upgrades If you are a digital worker using your computer every single day to deliver digital assets. Graphic, audio, whatever it may be, don't forget to keep on upgrading. Upgrade that memory. Upgrade that video card that mouse that keyboard. Have backup redundant items because you don't want to lose money. You don't want to lose jobs or clients or let clients down. Make sure you have a proper strategy in place to maintain your office equipments. Not like working for a company where they have a help desk. In a department that deals with those computer issues, you have to become your own help desk. 4. 1.3 - the niche jobs/places to watch in 2017: So then, let's have a quick look at jobs in 2017. Oregon, Hawaii, in Florida all look like states with positive employment figures going into 2017. If you are additional nomad or you travel around or you're in the States and you're looking for some work, these are states that are got positive figures for employments, and maybe you can find some specific work in these areas. Wholesale and retail trade show hiring rates are up off 20% over last year, at least in the U. S. To maybe look into these wholesale and retail trade jobs also in your country, transportation and utilities are on the opposite well, so maybe it's time to utilize that car that you've got sitting in the driveway, the guarantee for lift or uber. Maybe there's 1.5 million drivers already in the US, and it's gonna be coming to more towns and cities, especially in the UK this year. Wind turbine text therapy, home health aides, statistician, financial advisors on believer or not, we are now looking for lots of genetic counselors to do with DNA. So, like if you're looking for a completely radical job in 2017. There is a whole spectrum off jobs that are out there, which are starting to accelerate, starting to come onto the job market. Freelancing obviously will expand as well in 2017 as people will be getting fed up with their jobs, their working life, working for the man, the big operating companies. People probably want to diversify and create their own portfolios and brand up themselves looking into 2017 making their own courses. 5. 1.4 - wanna just get away instead?: So maybe volunteering is the way I picked five areas. Five sites that I think you might find interesting. If you're looking for a complete change and you want to just get away and you want to volunteer somewhere, do something creative, something that you love, something that's just going to take you away from the current life that you have work away . The info has nearly 25,000 active hosts looking for people just like you. And you can go on that website today and look around these jobs all around the world and maybe find something that fits helping abroad. The all is a 501 see nonprofit, placing people globally based in the US but obviously there's going to be services similar to this. Maybe they got links on there to partner websites that are based in your country. Help out, maybe, and run a stately home for around £100 a week with the National Trust. Obviously, it's a little bit different. You need to have some money behind you for this, but maybe you've always dreamed off running a stately home somewhere in the UK Maybe you love pride and prejudice just into that genre films. You want to do something completely dressed it with your life. Next year, you can actually come and help out through the National Trust here in the UK for £100 a week and help out at a stately home. Running and managing generally in tasks and duties. Travel Eyes the international dot com a really love the premise of this website. This is matching blind travelers with cited travelers. So you traveled together with somebody who's blind, kind of describe the places that you're going to, and I just think it's a beautiful thing to do is to match somebody who is blind with somebody who is cited. You can do all that descriptive and just encompasses a very loving connection between human beings. And I really loved the idea that if you've got time and space in your life to go and volunteer doing something like that, I think will be quite liberating for you as a person toe workout that other people miss out on on just helping somebody with a disability. To me, it just seems like such a valuable thing in life to do find local food projects and help out once a week. There may be promote your side projects and be in your local community that being just stuck at home, creating courses. Get out there, find out what people's issues are, what they're talking about, what they're debating about how power in the fruit production help out in the cooking. Maybe learn cooking for the first time. But do be out there in your community if you're looking to do something drastically different with your life this year. 6. 1.5 - the five step project!: the five step project, then go to your project in the bar below par. Awesome Project Title In the project workspace. Be creative. Include pictures on the steps that you talk. Pick a sweet cover image if you don't have one, go over to nomad dot pictures. Grab a CC zero Creative Commons picture from there. Click on the save button and you're done. 7. 1.6 - the roundup: All right, then. Wow, we finished. We got to the end off 31 days. Doing a course every single day on skill share has been really quite interesting from a that I pulled it off that I actually did. It has been times where I've done 25 31 days of something you got to like Day 20 video bloggers and things like that. If you're looking for a change in, 25% of you are in the US at this time of year, and I hope this little course gives you just a little bit of a nudge. Maybe makes you think a little bit differently about where you are in life. Maybe some of those resources are good for finding you some new work and changing your life , bringing some more income into your life in 2017 never been about a time to use technology to set up and run your own business. The cost of entry is incredibly low, especially with the hardware and software and Web services out there in the world allow you to micromanage on one or two people. Ah, whole business from wherever you want to work. That business in the world noon. Each skills are popping up all the time, and it's never too late to retrain and learn from these skills alongside the job that you've currently got. I just want to thank everybody for watching. I want you to have a really Happy New Year. Want you to be safe. Please don't drink and drive. Be responsible over the New year. Look after yourself. Enjoy it. I'm gonna be enjoying the new energy of 2017. I've actually finished all my courses now, for the next week or so, I'm gonna take a week. Are my Christmas and New Year is now starts and I can reflect on what I've done And look at the stats for December and again. I just want to thank everybody who's taking part. Watched all the minutes means so much to me that I get your support and I will see you next year. Take care 8. 1.7 - go premium before the 1st of jan!: while I have you enjoyed the course, Please share and review the course. It really does. Help me out. Click on the triple dot button.
