About This Class
Do you own an iPhone (or an iPad for that matter)?
If so, you may have noticed that in September 2016 Apple released the latest version of their mobile operating system:
This is an update that really has made the news over the last few days
With many experts claiming that iOS 10 is: The biggest revision since the first iPhone nine years ago
If you have already updated to iOS 10 then I believe this class will help you get the most from your new-look phone. If you haven’t updated yet, then perhaps the 7 new productivity features I am about to show you will convince you to update your iPhone to iOS 10 today!
Also, keep an eye out for 2 more classes in this series on iOS 10:
- 7 Awesome Additions to Messages on Your iPhone
- 7 Cool Reasons Why You Should Update Your iPhone to iOS 10 Today!
And I may well create additional classes in the future as well
Of course, if I make a lesson based on a secret feature that YOU have flagged up I’ll be sure to give you a shout out in the video.
Before You Upgrade To iOS 10
Please note that there are certain iPhones and iPads which are unable to run iOS 10, so below I have included a list of devices that do support iOS 10:
The following iPhones support iOS 10
- iPhone 5
- iPhone 5c
- iPhone 5s
- iPhone SE
- iPhone 6
- iPhone 6 Plus
- iPhone 6s
- iPhone 6s Plus
- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
The following iPads support iOS 10
iPad mini 2
iPad mini 3
iPad mini 4
iPad 3rd generation
iPad 4th generation
iPad Air 2
iPad Pro 9.7-inch
iPad Pro 12.9-inch
The following iPods support iOS 10
iPod Touch 6th generation
However, just because your device can technically run iOS 10, it does not necessarily mean that the new operating system will run well on the earlier models mentioned and my advice to you, if you do have one of the earlier devices listed, would always be to research your particular model BEFORE you run the update.
And of course it goes without saying that you should always back up your phone before you update!
Personally, I have an iPhone 6 and iOS 10 is working perfectly well on my device
However, there are a number of new features in iOS 10 that require 3D Touch technology, which is not supported on the iPhone 6 or below.
But don’t worry if you have an older phone as none of the new features that are mentioned in this particular series of videos include those requiring 3D Touch
Okay, so hopefully you now know whether you can or can’t update your iPhone or iPad to iOS 10
Which means that we can start looking at those cool reason why you should update your iPhone to iOS 10.

I've never really used any of the productivity features on my phone before, as I've never been confident on how to use them and was not aware of some of the features that exist. This course has provided some really useful tips and has improved my confidence in finding my way around the iPhone. This is the third course in a series that David has provided on the IOS10 update and I would encourage everyone to watch them, as they are very imformative and easy to understand! You'll pick up a lot of great tips on how to get the most out of your iPhone!
I also teach classes about course creation, online learning platforms and teaching, and recently, I launched the Writer Teacher Facebook Group as a place where self-published authors and online teachers can hang out to discuss how to make a significant income from your writing through the repurposing of content that you have already written in the form of online courses.
Some of my most popular Skillshare classes include:
A Little Bit More About Me
My name is David James Ault and I am a British ex-pat living in Slovakia, in the heart of Europe, with my wonderful Slovak wife, our three children and our English Bullterrier, Shaggy.
Having graduated with a BSc (Hons) Degree in European Business, the first part of my career was spent in marketing, especially in the tourism industry, and during that time, I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, at the CIM.
In 2001, I moved from the UK to Slovakia, where I set up a tourism portal about Slovakia and wrote travel related articles and books. I also began writing my first novel.
During the last 15 years, I have written non-fiction books in a variety of niches and set up a number of successful websites to promote my various interests. More recently, I have also been writing fiction and non-fiction books for teenagers and young adults and, in 2015, I set myself the goal of becoming a full-time Writer Teacher within the next couple of years.
I have an eclectic range of interests, including languages, writing, history, online marketing, design and travel. I also have a passion for cooking and eating healthy food, as well as the traditional Slovak dishes I have discovered, whilst living in the heart of Europe.
I have created a number of online courses for many of my niches and I have set up both the How To Publish An eBook and the Teach Someone A Lesson websites to impart some of the knowledge I have learned over the years to my students.
