About This Class
The Beginner's Guide to Setting Up Hosting for Your Website and the Propagation of Your Domain Name is actually the second part of the Writer Platform series, which is aimed at Authors, Creatives & Other Content Creators who are looking to build an online presence in order to sell more books and/or other digital products.
In this particular class, you will learn about:
- Choosing a Hosting Package
- Purchasing a Hosting Package
- The Control Panel of a Hosting Account
- The Propagation of Your Domain Name
- The Assigning of Your Domain to Your Hosting Account
Please note that the hosting example that I have used in this class is BlueHost. The reason that I have used them for this class is simply because they are genuinely my number one hosting provider and so I know their service better than any other. I also refer to Hostgator in the class, who I have also used for my websites in the past.
However, feel free to use a different hosting provider if you so wish. I still believe you will get a lot from this class, as many of the principles with regards to choosing a hosting package, the Control Panel and the Propagation of Your Domain Name hold true for most Hosting companies.
So go ahead and enroll in my class and I look forward to seeing you on the inside.

I also teach classes about course creation, online learning platforms and teaching, and recently, I launched the Writer Teacher Facebook Group as a place where self-published authors and online teachers can hang out to discuss how to make a significant income from your writing through the repurposing of content that you have already written in the form of online courses.
Some of my most popular Skillshare classes include:
A Little Bit More About Me
My name is David James Ault and I am a British ex-pat living in Slovakia, in the heart of Europe, with my wonderful Slovak wife, our three children and our English Bullterrier, Shaggy.
Having graduated with a BSc (Hons) Degree in European Business, the first part of my career was spent in marketing, especially in the tourism industry, and during that time, I completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, at the CIM.
In 2001, I moved from the UK to Slovakia, where I set up a tourism portal about Slovakia and wrote travel related articles and books. I also began writing my first novel.
During the last 15 years, I have written non-fiction books in a variety of niches and set up a number of successful websites to promote my various interests. More recently, I have also been writing fiction and non-fiction books for teenagers and young adults and, in 2015, I set myself the goal of becoming a full-time Writer Teacher within the next couple of years.
I have an eclectic range of interests, including languages, writing, history, online marketing, design and travel. I also have a passion for cooking and eating healthy food, as well as the traditional Slovak dishes I have discovered, whilst living in the heart of Europe.
I have created a number of online courses for many of my niches and I have set up both the How To Publish An eBook and the Teach Someone A Lesson websites to impart some of the knowledge I have learned over the years to my students.
