About This Class

The goal of this class is to introduce students to the fundamentals of 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, rendering and product design. We will begin by building various pieces of furniture using the different modeling techniques available in Cinema 4D, however, all professional level 3D applications offer some variation of these tools as well. In the end each student will arrange all of their individual models to compose one scene, to texture, light, and render.

This class is intended for anyone who has ever wanted to add 3D design to their repertoir, has an interest in product design or architectural rendering.

There is a free student version of Cinema 4D available online.

Cool tut for geting started!
Carlo does a great job of explaining the basics of Cinema 4D and his examples are easy to follow. I learned more from this class then then other beginning courses on C4D.

I've been working with 3D applications for about 8 years now, and currently teach at a local college in New York City an Introductory class to modeling with Cinema 4D that focuses on mid-century architecture and design. I am the lead animator and UX/UI designer for graphic novel applications currently in the App Store and Google Play market places. Some of my inspiration in environmental modeling comes from studying: Ray and Charles Eames, Tadao Ando, and Dieter Rams to name a few.
