About This Class

Have you ever looked at a digital magazine and thought, "I wish I could do that!"? Just imagine the feeling of accomplishment as you swipe left (turn the page) of your own magazine. This course will review typography terms you need to know, basic photo editing, magazine layouts, and cover design using InDesign and Photoshop. You are only 10 days away from having a 10-page magazine to proudly share with your readers for them to view on any web device, tablet or smart phone.

Those that are involved in meetups, boys/girls scout troops, organizations, etc., this would be an excellent project to do as a group to share events, member participation, and service projects with your family, friends, and community. Be sure to delegate assignments as needed. For example, you will need writers, photographer or someone to collect photos, an editor, etc. Once you complete the course, you will be able create larger publications by just adding pages.

Inspiring Innovation and Imagination

Tyson loves to mix technology and creativity. Although she has a creative background with bachelor's degrees in Interior Design and Creative Writing, she found herself adding web design and graphic design to her skillset. Coming from three generations of educators, Tyson told herself she would NEVER teach, but has found herself in numerous teaching situations. She enjoys the teaching process and seeing her students come to their own "AHA" moment. "You never stop learning. The only ways to ensure retention are to practice or teach. I prefer to do both." -- Tyson
