About This Class

Do you want to draw a mandala but feel intimidated by a blank page? Or do all your mandalas tend to look the same? Use one of the templates provided and some simple shapes to create your own personal mandala. The template will provide a guide for you to fill in with repeating patterns, creating a beautiful piece of art to color or shade. Although we’ll all use the same templates, our completed mandalas will look completely different!

Branching Out

I am an accidental artist. Growing up, I always wanted to be creative, but I didn't think I had any talent. In high school, I started doing cross stitch as a stress reliever, but I didnt consider it creative because I was following someone else's pattern. In college, I started beading and gained a whole new perception of myself! I loved weaving with tiny seed beads and making abstract beaded tapestries.

Fast forward several years, and as much as I want to paint or draw, I still can barely draw a stick figure. Then a friend introduced me to Zentangle! I looked on YouTube and devoured books and felt so artistic. When I took a Zentangle class, I found out I had only been doodling! I loved the Zentangle Method so much that I flew to Providence, RI to be trained as a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT).

Now I combine my love of Zentangle with other forms of art and play, and I teach other people that we all have a creative side. We just need to let go of the fear of mistakes and make a little creative mischief!
