About This Class
In this class, learn to conceptualize and design symmetrical patterns by sketching geometrical figures and real world objects. Then digitalizing them in Adobe Illustrator using tracing techniques. This class focuses on the symmetrical patterns and types of symmetrical patterns that can be designed for different themes.
This class is perfect for illustrators, designers, hobbiests, students, housewives or everyone who likes to draw and conceptualize. You don't need any prior knowledge to take this course, not even a single knowledge of Adobe Illustrator.
In this class, you will learn step-by-step designing symmetrical patterns using Adobe Illustrator. In no time, you will have a collection of well designed patterns and repeats that can be used for different purposes and showcases. You can use those designs for iPhone cases, wallpapers, weaving, pottery, jewellery, tiles, t-shirts and everything you can imagine.
Things you learn here can be applied anywhere to any theme or problem that you have. No matter what your inspiration is, from a simple circle to a complex object such as a frog, you will learn how to draw symmetrical patterns using the best methods used by pros. I enjoyed this class mostly because it is totally appropriate to a project I am working on right now. I know a little about Illustrator already - not a great deal but enough to be able to follow along and understand what was happening. The class was not too long - I find that I never get started on classes that are 1-2 hours because I simply don't have time or energy to watch them all the way through, and by the time I come back I've forgotten what I learned previously! This one was the perfect length and it left me very keen to start playing around with patterns of my own. Thank you!
I am a graphic designer and illustrator from South Asia. I love to share my learning and get interacted with new and budding designers, so I do guest lecturing, podcasting and blogs at regular basis.
