About This Class

Welcome to my class on creating a custom SVG image for Sparkol Videoscribe.

I assume that any student who takes this class has prior knowledge and experience in using Videoscribe.I have concentrated on the the image creation process rather than explaining the "hows and whys" of using Videoscribe. If you are new to using the Videoscribe software you can find a lot of information on their website-

Why Create Custom SVG Images

In order to create the illusion of a hand drawn image,Videoscibe uses SVG or Scalable Vector Graphics. The software is guided by the embedded stroke within the image. If we try to use a bitmap image ie a jpeg image within the software the results are less than satisfactory. So therefore I came up with my own technique to produce a usable image for the software as I found that most "doodle" videos contained the same sketches that are supplied with the software and wished to create my own.

The main software I have used to create my images are:

Adobe Photoshop -

Adobe Illustrator -

Vector Magic -

Sparkol Videoscribe -

All the software is available for a free trial.

How To Use This Class

I have designed the class for you to follow step by step using your own photo or image.I haven't gone into great depth about any of the software used,I have to keep it as simple as possible.Their are lots of tutorials available on Skillshare if you wish to go into great depth about learning any of the software from scratch.

I hope my class is useful and fun, creating your own custom images is very satisfying and can also be profitable as you can supply these images on a freelance basis.
