About This Class
In this class you will be guided through a detailed step-by-step process to paint a realistic apple in watercolor.
We will begin with the sketching of the apple, then transferring it to watercolor paper using transparent layers to produce a three-dimensional look. You will practice watercolor wet on wet, wet on dry and layering techniques.
This class is geared to people with and without previous experience using watercolor. For the novice there is a section covering an in-depth overview describing watercolor materials and how to make basic color charts for reference.
By the end of the class you will have added visual elements to your artistic vocabulary which can be applied to other creative and craft projects, such as hand lettering, food illustration or creating art for invitation cards, hand-made greeting cards, christmas cards or any other celebration.

Great class! I have been following Leyla's instagram and it was fun to try her techniques for myself. This the first watercolor painting I ever made and I'm happy with how it turned out, thanks to Leyla's clear instructions (:
What a great class! Leyla is an excellent teacher. It was very interesting to see the different stages of painting the apple.

In my studio practice, I explore creativity through writing, watercolor painting and origami, the art of paper folding. These artistic activities are vehicles for cultivating the creative spirit while fostering a sense of inner calm and play in our daily lives.
On my website, LeylaTorres.com you will find my watercolor art and illustration work and my children's books. At OrigamiSpirit.com, you will find origami video instructions, and lots of information and resources about the art of paper folding.
Artistic creativity and the ability to play are skills that help us live fuller lives and become better human beings. When we improve ourselves, we are better equipped to help improve the world around us.
I love teaching and helping people release their creative potential and appreciate the process as much as the result.
