About This Class
In this class we will create 3-dimensional hanging ornaments out of books. I call the different shapes Spinner, Diamond, Brilliant, Crystal and Pendulum. You will learn step by step how to make these ornaments that can decorate your christmas tree or hang on the window all year long. It is very easy and simple to do.
In the first lesson we will find out which books are better than others for the folding technique.
In the following lessons we will fold the books.
Finally I will show you how to make a construction so that you can hang your ornaments.
I made nearly 1000 folded books, so I think I can give you a lot of advices. I am trying to explain and show you everything as good as I can. If you have any further questions or problems, please feel free to ask.
What do you want me to teach you in my next class? What do you want me to teach in my next class? You can go to my Etsy-Shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/dorisse, where you can see my creations and write in the comment, what you would like to learn.

This is a great introduction into book and paper-folding with easy to follow instructions.

She has a MA degree in Art History and Literature and her interest is bringing these two matters together: Interpreting books by altering them in different sculptural ways.
Her book sculptures are/were decorations of stores in Germany (book stores), Italy (international interiors trade „Salone del mobile“ in Milan), Netherlands (Headquarter of Tommy Hilfiger in Amsterdam), Saudi Arabia (interiors showroom „Gallery Design“ in Riyadh), Hongkong (Starbucks in the K11 Art Mall).
Her Book Art and Paper Jewelry is carried in Boutiques, Galleries and Museum Shops in various cities and countries, such as Germany, Italy, Denmark, Finland (Finnish national gallery in Helsinki), Australia, United Kingdom, U.S: New York, Los Angeles, Cleveland (Museum Of Contemporary Art: MOCA).
At the Berlinale 2014 her jewelry was worn by the hostesses of the „Deutsche Telekom“. 4 of her book objects are included in the book „500 Paper Objects: New Directions in Paper Art“, published by Lark Crafts, May 2013.
