About This Class
This class is the first of a two part series that equips students with all of the basic skills needed for quilting. By the end of this class, students will have a completed quilt top for a mini quilt. Mini quilts are a great way to learn all of the skills, without being overwhelmed by a larger quilt. It is also a popular size in the modern quilting community, in which finished projects can be hung up for decoration or even used as a centerpiece for any table or other surface.
My hope for this class is to teach students that quilting is a relaxing way to stretch their creative muscles.
Quilting is not just for grandmas, anymore!

This class was fun! I signed up, went to get my materials, and had a finished mini quilt top by the next day. The instructions were clear and while my finished product isn't perfect I've definitely learned a bunch of skills that I can now practice practice practice with.
Very well made, clear videos and an enthusiastic teacher! I'm feeling keen to get going and quilt now.

Wonderful class to get started on quilting. Everything is explained in a clear, understandable way that makes it easy to follow along. I've watched several other tutorials on quilting and this is by far the easiest to follow. Great class!
Hello :) I have been sewing for 17 years now and I love sharing that passion with people! I started helping out at sewing camps around the age of 12 and have given numerous sewing lessons since then. I dabble in most needlecrafts, but quilting is definitely my first love. I have more recently developed a love for design and illustration and Skillshare has really helped me dive into that whole process.
I love interacting with people in the arts and crafts community! Feel free to check out my blog (sewilluminated.com) and Instagram account (jokemper) to see what projects I am working on.
