About This Class

I started off like you--a blogger with a dream and virtually no idea how to write a blog, much less make it successful. 3 years later, my blog, 6 Months to Live, ranks the highest in Google search results, attracts thousands of visitors, and has expanded into a Kickstarter-backed web show.

This class will be an interactive workshop style class that will teach you the essentials of:

  • How to find, attract, and keep your ideal audience
  • How to leverage social media channels and other tricks to attract more readers
  • How to generate compelling content that keeps readers engaged and excited to return

Most importantly, this class will show you why your unique and authentic voice is essential and how to use it towards success in the blogging world! 

Prior to the class, I will ask for your current blog, so I can have a better idea of its content, audience, and potential for growth. Since this is an online class, we will not have time to go through each person’s blog, but I will select a few to go through during live office hours (with the permission of the student). 

I am incredibly passionate about the blogging community, and my mission is to help & empower as many people as possible share their voice, unique gifts, and connect with people from all over the world through blogging. Plus, I want to save you 3 years of figuring it all out!

The class was a great start to building a Brand and Following and I hope Jacqueline gets more in depth ones coming on the way as I will certainly take it =)
The information in this class made me view blog writing in a different way. It pointed out several aspects of how to make a blog successful that I never would have thought of. I now recognize a lot of the techniques taught in this class, or lack thereof, in other blogs I read, which has helped with my own perspective.
I enjoyed the course. I noticed the teacher was responsive and enthusiastic to everyone who participated. I surmised that everyone who participated got what they were looking for. I certainly did. I had a lot of technical problems, but that was a learning experience, too. I have watched those TED talks several times, they were tremendous. I have even started noticing the why-how-what sequence in commercials on TV. Noticing which companies use that approach. I think I can apply that method to the volunteer organizations I belong to. So bonus for me above and beyond what I took from the course about my blog.

Jacqueline Boone is the creator of blog and web show, 6 Months to Live. Almost 4 years ago, she began her journey into the blogging world as a personal life experiment. Today, her blog attracts thousands of readers from all over the world who actively participate in a global community of people who inspire, empower, and support each other in designing life and work they love. 

Jacqueline is also a professional writer and international digital marketing consultant who combines her online expertise in blogging and marketing to teach individuals and companies how to succeed in blogging, building their brand & audience, and how to leverage social media to attract their ideal clientele & readership. Most recently, she was an Interactive Marketing Strategist for Volt Consulting Group and ProcureStaff Technologies, focusing on social media marketing and strategy. From 2009-2011, she worked for Volt’s CEO, focusing on building strategic partnerships in international markets. From 2006-2009, she lived and worked in China as an education professional, teaching at Hangzhou Technology University, Cisco Systems Inc., and other multinationals and institutions including working as a team leader for ARAMARK during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

In addition, Jacqueline has extensive experience in the publishing and communications industries, including marketing experience with InStyle magazine as well as writing and working for publications such as: PINK magazine, Atlanta Woman, and MORE (a Chinese publication focused towards expatriates and locals). She is an accomplished public speaker and was the twice-elected VP of PR for her local Toastmasters' group in San Francisco.
