About This Class

This class should help you mastering loose watercolor techniques combined with drier watercolor techniques. We are going to practice painting loose animals with watercolors and ink. The main concern of this class is finding balance between wet and dry parts of our illustrations and trying to control uncontrolable.

  •  how to paint animals wet on wet and wet on dry
  •  how to create different effects with watercolors
  •  how to use ink and water to create interesting animal silhouettes or illustrations
  •  how to transfer your sketches on a watercolor paper without pain
  •  working with time to create more complex watercolor illustration

This class is for beginners as well as for more skilled artists who usually work dry with watercolors and they would like to try something new.

By the end of this class you will have your own mini collection of watercolor animal illustrations!

Sova demonstrates in detail how to use wet on wet, wet on dry and ink on wet to create whimsical animal illustrations. Each lesson is simple to follow along and each one builds skills for this medium. This is an excellent class. I also enjoyed her review of illustrators from the past, most artists I had not heard of before. Very enjoyable class.
Magical...I really enjoyed watching you create these characters. : )
Love this class, especially the list of Czech watercolor illustrators at the end. You do beautiful work, and so clearly explain what one needs to do to create similar effects.
