About This Class

844594bb

This class should help you mastering loose watercolor techniques combined with drier watercolor techniques. We are going to practice painting loose animals with watercolors and ink. The main concern of this class is finding balance between wet and dry parts of our illustrations and trying to control uncontrolable.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  •  how to paint animals wet on wet and wet on dry
  •  how to create different effects with watercolors
  •  how to use ink and water to create interesting animal silhouettes or illustrations
  •  how to transfer your sketches on a watercolor paper without pain
  •  working with time to create more complex watercolor illustration

This class is for beginners as well as for more skilled artists who usually work dry with watercolors and they would like to try something new.

By the end of this class you will have your own mini collection of watercolor animal illustrations!

Magical...I really enjoyed watching you create these characters. : )
Love this class, especially the list of Czech watercolor illustrators at the end. You do beautiful work, and so clearly explain what one needs to do to create similar effects.

I have always been a mythology and fairy tale lover. I wanted to understand them more so I decided to study ancient religions at Charles University in Prague. I also loved art. When I finished my BA I decided to spend more time painting. I realized these interests can be complementary. The topics I study have often a curious atmosphere which is difficult to capture in words, but easier to express by art. Myths and folklore now inspire my illustrations and my artworks force me to see myths and folklore in a new perspective.

I also make traditional and digital illustrations for children - educational brochures so far - and I teach art and crafts classes for children. Right now I spend most of the time with my 3 years old daughter.
