What Are the Causes Lack of Motivation (Part 1) : So now we're gonna talk about what causes us to become unmotivated, and we're gonna break this out into two parts because really a lot of lack of motivation comes down to unconscious patterns that we have within ourselves. And two of the big ones are Our beliefs are limiting beliefs about ourselves and about our potential, and and the other one is how we actually motivate ourselves. So in the first video here, we're gonna tackle beliefs. And then in Part two, we will cover the way that we motivate ourselves and how we can begin to change that, to find better ways to motivate ourselves into let go of some of the ways that we have motivated ourselves in the past. It isn't working anymore. So let's talk about our attachment to our beliefs because this is a big a big reason why people become unmotivated. And really all this amounts to is just saying that sometimes we want to make a change in our lives. But there's certain aspects of ourselves or parts of ourselves that are attached to things that will prevent this new change. So let me give you an example. Let's say that somebody wants to live a healthier life and, you know, maybe they're watching the course or they saw a YouTube video and it inspired them, triggered something in them to want to begin to make healthier decisions in their life, like lose way healthier, those types of things. But let's say that this person also has a maybe a lifetime of eating poorly, sitting around watching TV. They love to eat sweets. They love to watch movies or TV all day, and now they want to make this change. So what happens is is maybe they start out and they begin to performed the new action. So maybe they're making smoothies in the morning, and they're starting to work out a little bit or exercise well, often times what people experiences it. Over a short period of time. Their motivations starts to decline, and instead they find themselves doing things like making excuses of why they're not gonna go on their run or just having a general sense of lack of motivation towards that goal that they were once extremely motivated for. And the reason why is because there's some unconscious things going on that are preventing them from really getting their full being behind themselves. So in a way, they're sort of fragmented. They have one part that wants one thing, but then they have another part that's attached to other things, and this is quite common in many different areas of our lives, so you don't have to go out and try to integrate all of these parts to get behind your goal . But I will tell you that the more aspects of yourself that you can get moving behind your goal of being successful in business the better. So one way to think about this is when you want to make big changes in your life, like starting and growing a successful business. It's not just about the behaviors in activities and thought processes that you want to now adopt. It's also about what you're willing to let go of. So it's about what you want to start doing, and it's about what you want to stop doing. So as an example to kind of illustrate this, if you had a pair of jeans that were extremely worn out right, the material was was literally just ripping apart, and it had ripped apart in a spot, and you wanted to put a patch on that. Well, if you put that new patch on that old war material, it may hold for a little while. But ultimately, within a short time, it's gonna create another hole. You can't put an old you can't put a new patch on a really old pair of jeans. Similarly, when you want to strike out on your own and start your own business you're gonna want, especially after you've gotten some initial momentum. You want to start really taking a deep dive into looking at your life as a whole and looking at all the different habits you have and beliefs that you have that may be associated with your past life. Okay, so, for example, one example is if someone's been an employee and now they want to start their own business . But as as an employee for somebody else, they were really used to those two days off that Saturday and that Sunday, and they would go and they would spend time with their friends on those days. Now, there's nothing wrong with spending time with your friends, but you have to ask yourself, Is that a habit that's gonna fit into your new business plans. So what do we do about all this? Like, what can we actually do about these unconscious patterns? Well, first, I just want to tell you that there's a big misconception when it comes to this idea of unconscious patterns. It makes it. It makes it sound like it's so insurmountable. But all that it really is is that these unconscious patterns give us little clues in our life. If we're paying attention, so that's the key. You have to begin to pay attention to what's going on inside you, um, in making a list of the habits that you have and also the beliefs that you have now, your beliefs will manifest themselves or make themselves known in a lot of different ways. One of them is how you talk to yourself. So here's a couple ways that you can begin to actually apply what we're talking about in this lesson. The first thing is, and you may find this to be a little strange. Whatever is before you do this next part. What you want to do is you want to close your eyes for a few minutes and just breathe deeply and relaxed. And the reason why is because if you're gonna do any sort of inner work where you look at beliefs or thought patterns that you have, you're gonna get a lot better quality of communication with your inner self or your subconscious Mind if you first get yourself into a relaxed state. Okay, so remember to do that little step, because it will help your results massively. Okay, next. What you want to do is you want to make a list of is many habits as you can identify within yourself and write this down right down the habits that you think may pose a current or potential obstacle to your success in business. So next What you want to do is you want to ask yourself, if this habit begins to pose a threat to the success of my business, would I be willing to let it go and what you really want to pay attention to when you ask yourself That is not so much what your mind responds with but what your feelings respond with because oftentimes you know we can think all sorts of things and talk ourselves into all kinds of different things. But Often our feelings will tell us the truth about what we really believe. Deep down, so you want to listen to your feeling, so to speak, or pay attention to how you feel about that, have it when you ask yourself that and use that as a way to determine if you'd really be willing to let it go. So some of these habits are gonna be things that you're gonna be needing toe work on for quite some time. The key idea here is to really begin to identify the potential conflict areas so that you can either be preemptive and get rid of them. Or you can at least notice the warning signs or the potential obstacles up ahead that you may have to face. And some of those habits may be deeply ingrained that you really need to work on for a while. Others. Once you do this process, you'll just see that you're gonna need to let it go and you just let it go and you're done with it and you move forward. Now. A key thing here is, as with any sort of process, when you begin to ask yourself questions like that and begin to do some soul searching, as they say, It's important to also realize that you want to keeping note pad or a voice recorder like on your phone handy, because once you start communicating with your subconscious mind in that way, what happens is is that you're gonna have things come to the surface after the fact. So, like, let's say, right after you watch this you sat down and you did this exercise and you thought of everything you could at the moment of habits. Well, what'll end up happening is two or three hours from now, or maybe even 10 minutes from now. New things they're gonna pop up into your head and often those air. Really, those are the really valuable one. So you want to make sure you capture those on paper and the other thing you want to do is part of this exercise is begin to pay attention to any limiting beliefs that you you have. So, for example, how do you spot your unconscious limiting beliefs? Because if they're unconscious, how do you know they're there? Will again you begin to become aware of those things based on the effects that they leave, so one of those effects would be self talk. If all of a sudden one day you're really frustrated and you find yourself telling you, find yourself saying things like, You know, I'm never gonna be successful, I am you always you know, I'm always a failure. This isn't gonna work. Don't just have that thought and then walk right past it begin to really tune in to those types of thoughts, because those little types of self limiting ideas and self talk can often be like the tip of and on unconscious belief that is really holding you back. And there's some good news and Cem maybe challenging news about this. The challenging part is, is that some of this stuff runs really deep, and it's not something that you just fix in one day. It's a process of overtime, of revealing in healing, and I'm not saying that like you need a therapist to do that. I just mean that it requires you to revisit some of these things again and again and again , so that's like the challenging part of it. The good news is, is that some of these you look at and they just evaporate quickly. The other part of the good news is that by beginning to identify some of these deep, unconscious patterns that are holding us back when we begin to work on those through the method that I'm gonna share in just a moment when you make changes with some of those big patterns in your life, the effect it has on all areas of your life is pretty dramatic. So you can think of it like peeling back and onion on the outer layer. It might be a comment like, I'm never gonna be successful, and then you capture that you write that down or you record it. And then here's the the action for changing that is you begin to come up with ways to reframe that, like the simplest ways just to think of what the opposite is. What do you really want to believe? Okay, because as a side note, it's important to realize that our beliefs are not fax okay, beliefs are made up to a large degree, and even though you may have plenty of different experiences in your life that support a belief, it doesn't mean that that belief is the truth about you, so A belief like I'm never gonna be successful. It's just not true. It's an idea. So what is the opposite idea that you would want to believe? If you're making stuff up about yourself, what do you want to believe? You want to believe that you will be successful and that it will happen for you. And as you begin to identify those limiting ideas about yourself and begin to convert those into their opposites, like using the example, you're never gonna be successful. The opposite of that would be what it would be. You are successful. No, not you're going to be successful, but you are successful. And then you write that down as an affirmation, and you may even add, in some words to make it more powerful, like you are fantastically successful, and again the words that you use in your affirmations. You want to use the words that give you a feeling inside that resonates with you that makes you feel like that. Yes, I like that, and you'll know if you begin to pay attention that your feelings. So once you write down some of these affirmations, the way that you practices affirmations is two ways. One is any time you hear that core belief. So it might be one day. It might be the self talk. You're never gonna be successful in another day. It's like you always fail whenever you hear those indications of that belief. That's when you want to consciously choose, even if you gotta pretend like you don't even really believe it yet. But you just make a decision to say that new affirmation. Close your eyes and just say it to yourself a few times. Do it that so as you go and then also spend just a little bit of time. It could be like five minutes just repeating your affirmation to yourself. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths, get yourself into a relaxed state and then open your eyes and read your affirmations a few times. And what you'll find as you begin to incorporate everything that we've talked about this in this video is that new things will come to the surface. Old things will disappear, and you're gonna find that you're able to really identify the things that are holding you back. So now let's move on to the next video and I'll join you there 3.
